He was predeceased by his father, Paul Sheppard who died in 1997.

Zimmerli, William H. : Died April 14, 2000 at age 86. He was a resident of Palm City, FL for the past 30 years. Predeceased by his wives, Doris H. McCoy and June I. McDermott. He is survived by his sons, Dr. William H. Zimmerli of Bonaire, GA, Robert B. (Barbara) of Webster, NY; daughter, Marilyn Z. (Hubert) Knickerbocker of Kansas City, MO; step-sons, Arthur (Sandra) Heath of Orlando, FL, Jack (Dorothy) of NC; David (Pamela) Heath of Rochester, NY; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Jean Hastings of Penfield, NY. Bill graduated from the University of Rochester with a Chemistry Degree; worked for Eastman Kodak Co. for 42 years. His hobbies included golf, hunting and fishing. Was a charter life member of Lake Plains Water Fowl Assoc. He was a mason with the Charlotte Lodge.
