David Leonard Davis, 38 died suddenly Sunday, July 18, 2004. Family and friends may call Wednesday (July 21) from 7 to 9 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 West Miller Street, Newark. A Funeral Service will be Thursday (July 22) at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday (July 20) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St. in Lyons, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday (July 21) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Harris of Grace Episcopal Church in Lyons.

Godkin, Harold ‘Pete’ Jr.
CLYDE: Mr. Harold “Pete” Godkin Jr., 65, of 36 Elm St., died Saturday (July 17, 2004) at his residence following an extended illness surrounded by his loving family.

Bauerschmidt, Eva Mae
WALWORTH: Went to be with the Angels on July 12, 2004 at age 82. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Jim; children Gayle (Bill) Burnett, Jim (Robin) Bauerschmidt; grandchildren Beau, Chad Bauerschmidt, April Adams, Katie Burnett; sister Mona Timmerman; several nieces, nephews and close friends. Donations may be made to the Walworth Ambulance or the Lincoln Fire Department in her memory.

Blankenberg, John E. Jr.
PALMYRA: Age 56, died on Monday, July 12, 2004. John was born in Sodus on July 27, 1947 the son of John and Nellie Vandenheuvel Blankenberg Sr. He served in Germany in the Army and had worked for Garlock Co. of Palmyra, Dave Burnham Lawn Service and was a self-employed landscaper. Survived by companion Emily Heers of Palmyra; son Joe Blankenberg of Palmyra; 2 daughters, Heather Lynn Heers of Palmyra and Tracey Blankenberg of Newark; 4 step-children: Bret, Scott, Ryan and Todd Heers of Palmyra; several grandchildren; 3 sisters: Patricia (Ed) Peters of Fairville, Barbara Jean (Jonathan) Moon of Newark, and Diana (Rod) Smith of Newark; 7 brothers: Lewis (Viola) of Marion, David (Carolyn) of Newark, Thomas A. (Jo Ann) of Sodus, James E. of Newark, Gerald (Donna) of Lyons, Steven of Newark, Michael John of Newark; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son, John Michael and brothers, Larry in 1996 and Charles in 2001.

Briggs, Mildred W.
WOLCOTT: Age 87. Died on July 10, 2004 in the Wayne County Nursing Home . She was predeceased by her husband, Lyman in 1999. She is survived by her children, Bruce (Julie) Briggs of Winter Haven, FL, Constant Standbrook (Fiance', Robert Gray) of Waterloo & Keith Briggs of Wolcott; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sister, Leta Wells of Destin, FL; several nieces & nephews. Interment Huron Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Faith United Methodist Church or the Wolcott Fire Department.

He will be missed by his loving & devoted wife of 21 years (July 16, 1983) Dorothy Willemsen Ehrhardt; son Michael Raymond Ehrhardt of Macedon; sisters Linda (Roger) Hoffman of Marion & Gloria (Charlie) Matias of Willard; brothers-in-law, Van (Catherine) VanHall, Isaac (Dolores) Willemsen and Ralph (Betty) Vanderlinde; many nieces, nephews & great nieces & great nephews. Family & friends may call SUN. (July 18) from 4 to 9 pm at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. The Newark Elks Lodge will have a Prayer Service at 3:45 pm. The Newark Volunteer Fire Dept. - Arcadia Hose Co. will have a Prayer Service at 5 pm. A Funeral Service will be MON. (July 19) at 2 pm at Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark. Burial with military honors will follow at Marion Cemetery. In memory of Gary, please direct contributions to the Park Presbyterian Church Elevator Fund or Albert Mels Scholarship Fund, c/o the Newark Volunteer Fire Dept.

Ferguson, Elmer R. "El"
WALWORTH: Died on July 11, 2004 at age 64. Predeceased by his son Ray; survived by his daughter Debra (Scott) Drexler; grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Scott; sister, Joyce(Jerry) Palmigiano; nieces, Brenda Palmigiano, Lisa (David) Tuccio. El was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. Interment Whitehaven Memorial Park. Donations may be made to American Legion, Ontario Rod & Gun Club or Webster Assembly of God in his memory.

Hendershot, Raymond L.
CLYDE: Raymond L. Hendershot, 67, of 2671 Powers Rd, died Thursday (July 8, 2004) at Auburn Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Hendershot was born in Lyons, NY on May 4, 1937. He was the son of Chester and Mildred Caldwell Hendershot. Ray was a graduate of Clyde High School, and this past April, he was inducted into the Clyde Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the 1951 undefeated basketball team. Mr. Hendershot was a member of the Clyde Masonic Lodge 341, and the Lyons Elks Lodge # 869. Raymond was a resident of Clyde for the past 20 years, and for 14 of those years was the owner of the Sportsman Lounge in Clyde. At that time he was also a member of the Clyde Chamber of Commerce. More recently he had been employed as a truck driver for the Park Lane Construction Company of Clyde. He also spent many years driving truck for the Neptune Trucking Co. of Rochester and the Boss-Linco Trucking Company of Binghamton. As an avid sportsman, Ray was a member of the Hilltop Gun Club. Surviving are two sons, Raymond (Brenda) Hendershot of Clyde and Robert (Debbie) Hendershot of Clyde, his mother, Mildred Hendershot of Clyde and 5 grandchildren, Tara, Lacey and Jessica Hendershot and Rachel and Ryan Hondorf. He was predeceased by his father, Chester Hendershot in 1991. Burial in Rose Cemetery, Rose, NY. Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 145, Clyde, NY 14433 or to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, NY 14609 would be appreciated.

Hubright, Earl J.
PULTNEYVILLE: Entered into rest on July 13, 2004 in his 74th year. A veteran of the Korean conflict; Xerox retiree, and member of the Pultneyville United Methodist Church. Survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 52 years, Arlene (Cooney) Hubright; loving son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Karen Hubright of Webster; special grandchildren, Kristen and Thomas Hubright; sister, Shirley Sergeant, of South Carolina; brother, Jerry (Claudia) Hubright, of Williamson; sisters-in-law, Patricia Hubright of MA, Linda Hubright, of Williamson; brothers-in-law, Roger (Carol) Cooney of Williamson, Vern Collier of Williamson; several nieces and nephews. A service will be held at the Pultneyville United Methodist Church Sunday, July 18th, at 3 PM followed with interment in Lake View Cemetery, Pultneyville. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed in his memory to the Pultneyville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 224, Pultneyville, NY 14538.

Johnson, John A. Jr.
SODUS: Age 75, passed away peacefully at home, July 11, 2004. John is survived by his wife, Patricia of 45 yrs.; children, Sandra (Joseph) DeRaffele of Goldens Bridge, NY, Donna Johnson (Tracy DelGrego) of Rochester; and David Johnson of Williamson; 7 grandchildren; brother, Robert (MaryAnn) of Ft. Myers, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the GRHC Hospice, Sodus Bay Height Golf Club Memorial Fund and Diabetes Assoc.

Kreiss, Nancy R.
NEWARK; 75, a resident of the Blossom View Nursing Home, died Friday, July 16, 2004. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held on Sunday, (July 18) at 2 p.m. at the Park Presbyterian Church in Newark. For those wishing, please make contributions to the Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court Newark, NY 14513 in her memory. Mrs. Kreiss was born December 22, 1928, a daughter to Arthur and Cecil Crisler Maunder in the Town of Rose. She was the Director of the Operating Room at E.J. Barber Hospital in Lyons and retired as the Director of the O.R. at the Clifton Springs Satellite Clinic in Lyons, she also worked as a Wayne County Public Health Nurse in the Migrant Program. She is predeceased by her husband Glenn in 1994, three sisters, Doris Campbell, Betty Jane Deeley, and Joyce Maunder. Surviving are her four children, Marilyn (Paul) Massaro of MI., Carol (John) Boylan of New Jersey, Roger (Jan) Kreiss of Marion, Jon (Chris) Kreiss of Tonawanda; ten grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald (Norma) Kreiss of Rochester; nieces and nephews.

Mastrangelo, Louis P.
WOLCOTT: Louis P. Mastrangelo, 71, died Sunday (July 11, 2004) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

O’ Connor, Harold C.
ONTARIO: Went home to be with the Lord after struggling with cancer on July 13, 2004 at age 56. He is survived by his wife of 31 yrs, Elaine; children, Barbara (Scott) Munksgard, Janet (Ed) Montgomery, Amy O’Connor (John Wall), Patrick O’Connor, Holly O’Connor; granddaughter Morgan; brother Francis (Sharon) O’Connor; sisters Marguerite (Frank) Duesel, Beth (Gerard) Mahon, Regina (Steve) Ferguson, Kathy (Jack) Holland; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family & friends. Harold worked for the Town of Ontario Highway Dept., & was active with Ontario Volunteer Emergency Squad, Wayne Co. EMS Advisory Board, Finger Lakes EMS Council, & member of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church. Burial Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Ontario Volunteer Emergency Squad or American Cancer Society in his memory.

Ronan, Betsy J.
MANCHESTER, NY: Proud grandmother of Onondaga Lane, Friendly Village Manchester, passed away July 14, 2004, at the Ontario County Health Facility. She was 83. Born in Lyons NY, the daughter of the late John & Alice Plyter. Betsy was a homemaker, a former member of the Wayne Hills County Club in Lyons, NY. She was an outgoing person and loved being around people and helping them. Betsy also loved working in her vegetable garden. She is survived by Steven Marshall(Linda) Ronan, Wilmington, NC, Rona Jean (Thomas) Sembach, Manchester, NY; grandchildren, Cindy, Michael, Stephanie, Sarah, Tom, Courtney, Jeff, James, Josh, Jessica; seven great-grandchildren, Kate, Nick, Ryan, Alec, Jacob, Noah, Harrison; a longtime companion, M. Earl Castle, former greeter at WalMart. She was predeceased by her husband, William L. Ronan; brothers, Peter & Charles Plyter; son, Jack Ronan. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 at the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua. A Memorial Service will follow at 4 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lyons Rural Cemetery. Smith, Kenneth L.
SODUS/ONTARIO: Age 91, died July 13, 2004 in Clifton Springs Hospital. Mr. Smith was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Virginia C. Smith. He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Russ) Hixon of Yuba, City, CA, Polly (Jim) Cantwell of Ontario; a son, David (Debbie) of Marion; two sisters, Jean McClaren of Bangor, ME and Betty Coleman of Angels Camp, CA; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. Interment in Sodus Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Smith's memory to the First United Presbyterian Church in Sodus.

SODUS: Age 74, died on July 14, 2004 in Rochester General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty; 3 children, Karen (Eric) Beckens of Sodus, Kevin Tooke of Yorktown, VA and Kim (Gary) Sheffield of Savannah; 6 grandchildren, Erica, Autumn & Noah Beckens, Tesla, Jonathan & Samantha Sheffield; brother, Ervin (Jerry) Tooke of New Albany, PA; several nieces. A Memorial Service will be held Monday 7:00 PM at the First Reformed Church of Sodus. Interment will be in the Sodus Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the First Reformed Church of Sodus.

Wise, Mildred F.
MACEDON/CUBA: Mildred F. DeLong Wise, age 73, of Macedon, died on Saturday, july 10, 2004, surrounded by family at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness. Born in Brandon, PA on November 26, 1930, she was the daughter of Guy E. and Mildred F. Pryer DeLong. On September 17, 1949 she married Kenneth Wesley Wise in Emlenton PA. Mrs. Wise went to school in Venanco Co. PA, and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1948. She and her husband spent time at Sunnyhill Campsites in Richburg for the past 29 years. Surviving, in addition to her husband of nearly 55 years are: 2 sons, Stephen W. (Cynthia L.) Wise of Cuba, NY, David W. (Charlene L.) Wise, of Cuba; one daughter, Rebecca Wise of Macedon; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and 3 sisters. Burial in the Cuba Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road, Rochester, NY, 14609-5896.

SODUS: Age 84, died on July 9, 2004, in Rochester General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husbands, Irvine VanLare, Isaac Zonneville and daughter, Shirley VanLare. She is survived by 5 children, Barbara (Carmen) Sanzotta of Wolcott, Karen(Richard) Thompson of Cuba, NY, Mary Ellen (Les) Smith of FL, Linda (David) House of Shortsville and Dorothy (Ivan) Faulks of Marion; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Interment, Macedon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the First Reformed Church of Sodus.
