Boucher of Farmington; great-grandchildren,
Mikayla & Tristyn Bade;

Lyons; sister, Sarah Naeye of Palmyra;
many nieces & nephews. Mrs. Bade
was predeceased by her daughter,
Barbara Boucher in 1994; 1 brother & 5
sisters. A Graveside Service will be
MON. (Jan. 20) at 10 am at E. Newark
Cemetery. In memory of Mrs. Bade, in

Elsaesser, Robert W.
ONTARIO: Friday January 17, 2003 at
age 45. Bob is survived by his wife Lou
Ann; daughter Erica; son Mark; brother
James (Joanne Lower) of Vernon NY;
sister Joyce (David) Mathes of AZ.
Robert was predeceased by his parents
William and Irene of Buffalo, and by
his brother William. Bob had been
employed by RG&E for the past 18
years. Contributions in Bob's memory
should. be Directed to the Shriner's
Pediatric Burn Hospital, 51 Blossom
St, Boston MA 02114.

Hilfiker, Alice Canolesio "Tootsie"
CLYDE: Died on Saturday, January 11,
2003, at the Wayne County Nursing
Home at the age of 96. Mrs. Hilfiker
was predeceased by her husband
Frederick "Fritz" Hilfiker in 1990; sisters
Edith Galiani and Margeruite
Earley; brothers John Canolesio Jr. and
Louis Canolesio. She is survived by her
sister-in-law Bertha Canolesio of Clyde
and several cousins, nieces and
nephews. Mrs. Hilfiker was born on
September 10, 1906, in Clyde, the
daughter of John and Amelia Ricci
Canolesio Sr. She graduated from St.
John’s Catholic Grade School and
Clyde High School. At the age of 17
she became the proprietor of the Rose
Bud Restaurant in Clyde. With the
repeal of the 18th amendment, Mrs.
Hilfiker became the first woman in
New York State to own and operate a
liquor store. Clyde Wine and Spirits
flourished from 1935 to 1980 under the
direction of Mrs. Hilfiker and her husband
Frederick. Mrs. Hilfiker was a
member of St. Johns Church as well as
many civic organizations. As a member
of the Clyde Chamber of Commerce for
over 60 years, she and her husband
worked towards and promoted the success
of all businesses and projects for
the betterment of the community.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Contributions in memory of Alice may
be directed to the memorial fund of St.
John's Church, 14 Sodus Street, Clyde,
NY 14433 or to the Clyde Volunteer
Ambulance Corp., PO Box 145, Clyde,
NY 14433.

Prell, Mary (O'Dell)
ONTARIO/ZEPHYRHILLS, FL.
Mary Prell was born on March 31, 1922
in Bennington, VT to the late Ralph and
Delia O'Dell. She married Raymond A.
Prell Jr. in Frankfort, NY in 1941. They
raised their four children. in Ontario,
NY. Mrs. Prell died at her home in
Zephyrhills on January 14, 2003, after a
long illness. Mrs. Prell was predeceased
by her son Raymond Ill; a sister
Eva; four brothers, Frank, Art, David
and Bud. She is survived by her husband
of61 years, Ray of Zephyrhills;
two daughters, Mary Ann (J. Wesley)
Mosher of Hoffineister, NY and Phyllis
Peters (Greg Scott) of Logan, OH; one
son Larry (Sharyn) of Largo, FL.; 10
grandchildren, 18 great grands; two sisters,
Betty and Nancy of Washington
State and two brothers Norman and
Ron of NYS; many nieces and
nephews. Memorials my be directed to
Hernando/Pasco Hospice, 7066 Ft.
King Road, Zephyrhills, FL. 33541.

Rogers, Donald Lewis
Marion. Age 79 died at his home on
December 30, 2002. He was predeceased
by his parents, Charlie and
Agnes Lash Rogers and brothers Ralph
and Harold. He is survived by his sister
Anna Lester of Wolcott; nieces,
Barbara (Larry) Willis of Wolcott,
Caroline Sanford of Newark; nephews,
Duane Lester of Ohio and Richard
Lester of Marcy; grandniece, Marla
Sanford of Newark; grandnephews,
John (Janice) Benjamin of TN, Scott
(Melissa) of Red Creek and Derek
Sanford of Newark; 1 great grandniece
and 4 great grandnephews; several
cousins. Interment was in the Butler
Center Cemetery.

Van Gee, Sheila A.
MARION: Entered into rest January
15, 2003 at the age of 66. Predeceased
by her mother, Louise Van Gee and
brother, Billy. She is survived by her
father, Willard; her sisters, Pamela
(Bernard) Batz and Sharon (William)
Galbraith; brother, Stephen (Sally); and
several nieces and nephews. Memorial
contributions may be made to the ARC
of Wayne County or to the Hospice of
your choice.

Wagemaker, Alice Paton
SODUS POINT: Died on Saturday,
January 11, 2003 at the Wayne County
Nursing Home at the age of 83. A lifelong
resident of the area, Alice was
born in Lyons October 26, 1919,
daughter of James and Esther Sloan
Paton. She was a member of the Lyons
Presbyterian Church and retired in
1978 from the Wayne County
Department of Social Services. In
recent years, Mrs. Wagemaker and her
husband spent their winters in Florida
and they maintained a summer home on
Sill's Shore at Sodus Bay. Alice is survived
by her husband of 60 years,
Reginald; one daughter, Joan Walls of
West Baden Springs, Indiana; two sons,
Larry of Rochester and Wallace
(Barbara) of Chelmsford,
Massachusetts; three grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren; one brother,
James Paton of Venice, Florida.
Predeceased by her brothers, G. Terry
and Robert Paton. At the family's
request, calling hours will not be
observed and Burial will be in the
South Lyons Cemetery. A Graveside
Service will be held in the Spring at the
convenience of the family.

Wheeler, Ellen A.
MACEDON CENTER: Wednesday,
January 15, 2003 at the age of 101.
Ellen is survived by daughters, Wilma
(Richard) Dickinson and Beverly
(Richard) Kelly; 20 grandchildren; 35
great-grandchildren; and many great great
grandchildren. She was predeceased
by daughter, Shirley Crosby and
grandsons, Herbert and Roger Kofahl.
Contributions in Ellen's memory should
be directed to either the Wayne County
Nursing Home Activity Fund, 7376 Rt.
31, Lyons, NY 14489 or to the
Macedon Center United Methodist
Church, 1160 Macedon Center Road,
Macedon, NY 14502.

Alquist, Harold E.
WEBSTER: Mr. Alquist died Monday,
January 20, 2003 at age 68 at Rochester
General Hospital. Predeceased by his
wife, Dorothy, and step-daughter, Judith
Miles. He leaves his children, John of
Walworth, Mark of Williamson, and
Margaret Ashmead of Rochester;
stepchildren, Elsie Hemmerich of
Garland, TX, Eva Camp of Victor,
Christine (Tom) Heberle of Ontario,
Willard (Joyce) Proctor of Belfast, NY,
and Sue Harris of Rochester; 24 grandchildren;
18 great-.grandchildren; sister,
Ruth (Durwood) Stevens of Ontario;
brother, Fritz (Marion) Alquist of Erin,
NY; brother-in-law Frank Koons of
Clayton; nieces and nephews.
Harold was born September 4, 1934 to
Johannis and Anna Ahlberg Fritzof in
Milton, P A. Harold married Dorothy
Proctor on April 24, 1958. The couple
made their home on Maple Drive,
Webster, where Harold had grown up,
and later on East Main Street, Webster.
In 1969, they moved to Plank Road,
Walworth. Mrs. Alquist died in 1996.
After 20 years of service. Harold retired
in 1993 from the Town of Webster
Highway Department. Prior to his
employment with the Town of Webster,
Harold had worked at Wright-Wisner
Distributors and Hart Greenhouses
Harold was an Army veteran of the
Korean War. With 9 children, Harold
loved kids, and his family remembers
how he liked to play baseball with them.
He also enjoyed vegetable gardening
and fishing. Following visitation on
Sunday, The Rev. Sheldon R. Peterson
officiated at the 11 :00 A.M. Funeral
Service at the Willard Scott Funeral
Home on Monday, January 27.
Spring interment will be at West
Webster Cemetery. Memorials may be
directed to Pines of Peace Comfort Care
Home, 2378 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY
14519.

Buyck, Lorraine R.
LYONS-SODUS: 77, Jan. 21, 2003.
Survived by her husband of 59 yrs.
Elmer; son, James (Karen) of Sodus; sister,
Vada Broach of Lyons; grandson,
Andrew of Buffalo; aunt, Genevience
Bardmaker of Lyons; nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by grandson Sgt.
Jason A. Buyck in Dec. 2000. Memorials

Leonard Cook, 87. He is survived by his
loving & devoted wife of 54 years, Mary
Kane Cook; daughter, Cheryl (Charles)
Wofford of WA; grandchildren, Joshua
& Yasmin Wofford of WA.; sister, Esther
Glerum of Gloversville; several nieces,
nephews & many friends. Mr. Cook was
predeceased by his parents, Christopher
& Armeda Cook & a brother Gordon.
Burial will be at Newark Cemetery at
the convenience of the family. In
