Vivian G. Koss, 90, of Rocky Point, died Thursday, Oct. 20.
Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Max and the late Selma (Bankoff) Quinton.
She was a tax clerk, employed by the IRS, Holtsville.
Mrs. Koss is survived by daughter, Naomi Reiner of Pompano Beach, Fla.; son, Michael G. Koss of Rocky Point; brother, Keith J. Quinton of Morristown, N.J.; and four grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nathan Koss.
A private cremation was arranged by family.

Yvette Viola Philibert

Yvette Viola Philibert, 82, of Rocky Point, died Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Born in Lowell, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Jean and the late Lucia (Soucy) Philibert.
She was a clerk, employed by Suffolk County.
Ms. Philibert is survived by sisters, Loretta Sayler of Rocky Point and Janet Donohue of Neb.; brothers, Frederick Philibert of Minn. and Jean Philibert of Minn.; and niece, Karen Lerman of Medford.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Oct. 24, at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Rocky Point.
Interment followed in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram.
Arrangements were entrusted to Rocky Point Funeral Home of Rocky Point.

Asela E. Galarza, age 86, of Smithtown died on Oct. 18
She was the cherished mother of Luis.
Burial took place in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

Cynthia Amelia Priebe, 80 years old of Old Field, died Oct. 17. She was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Dr. Saro M. Cali and Marcella Hostage Cali. She was a registered nurse, real estate agent and former trustee of the Village of Old Field.
She was a devoted wife and mother and is survived by her husband, Dr. Cedric J. Priebe Jr.; children, Diane M. Hultgren, Janice M. Thompson, Dr. Cedric J. Priebe III, Catherine M. Botticelli, Michael S. Priebe, Dr. Gregory P. Priebe and Marta M. Priebe; 13 grandchildren; brother, Frank Cali; and sister, Sarina Mustacchia.

Susan G. Barone, age 48, of Smithtown died on Oct. 16.
She was the beloved wife of Greg; cherished mother of Jake and Kyle; devoted daughter of Ben King (Kathy) and Florene Hall; loving sister of Cheryl, Stewart and Katy; adored daughter-in-law of Frances and Salvatore Barone; dear sister-in-law of Brenda.
A memorial service was celebrated by the Rev. Dr. Janine H. Burns of Guiding Light Foundation.

John J. Corley
Died: Saturday, October 15, 2011
John J. Corley, 90 years old of Miller Place, died Oct. 15. He was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Manhattan, the son of Thomas and Mary Corley.
He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps, serving in World War II. Mr. Corley was a retired police sergeant for Port Authority of New York.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; son, John (Patricia); daughters, Karen, Janice Ryley, Donna (Edward) Krohmer; seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; and sister, Mary Slater.
Services were held at St. James RC Church, Oct. 19. Interment followed at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, where Mr. Corley was afforded full military honors.

Helen L. Reed
Died: Monday, December 19, 2011
Helen L. Reed of Stony Brook passed away on Dec. 19. Mrs. Reed, a graduate of Columbia University, was a homemaker.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lt. Col. Marion Stafford "Bud" Reed, USMC. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Fortuna (David) of Setauket; son, Robert S. Reed of Melvin Village, N.H.; and granddaughter, Lauren Fortuna of Farmingdale.

Edward Hattorff
Died: Sunday, December 18, 2011
Age: 77
Edward Hattorff passed away at the age of 77 at home on Dec. 18 while surrounded by his loved ones.
Edward was the devoted husband of Carole and loving father of Philip, Thomas, Barbara, Maureen, Matthew, Lori, Kim and Joseph. He was the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Edward bravely served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He served as a New York State Supreme Court officer in Suffolk County for 20 years before retiring to enjoy his hobbies of gardening and flying simulated missions from his laptop computer. Edward was also an avid baseball and classic movie fan.
Edward was laid to rest next to his fellow patriots at Calverton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind in Smithtown.
Funeral arrangements were orchestrated by Alexander Tuthill Funeral Home.
Joseph Mazzola
Died: Friday, December 16, 2011
Age: 89
Joseph Mazzola, born July 23, 1922, in Queens to Vincenzo and Lena (Nadia) Mazzola, died on Dec. 16. Joseph is well remembered for working in the Smith Haven Mall for 17 years. He was a daily early morning friend to many at the old Family Diner and Benkert's Deli and Bakery. Joseph was a loving brother to Frank and his wife, Carmela, Virginia Leland and Phillip and his wife, Alice.
Joseph was the cherished uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A prayer service was held Dec. 20 and a Mass of Christian Burial on Dec. 21, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church in Centereach. Burial took place in Pinelawn Memorial Park. To leave condolences please visit obdaviscentereach.com.

Vera Circa Toman
Died: Wednesday, December 14, 2011
Age: 85
Vera Circa Toman, 85, of Philadelphia, formerly of Port Jefferson, passed away Dec. 14 in her home at Atria Center City, Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Oldrich J. Toman, who died in 2005.
Born Oct. 14, 1926, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Vera was the daughter of the late John and Sophia (Marko) Cirka.
Mrs. Toman worked as a librarian for 45 years, first in New York City and later on Long Island. Her passions included traveling, gardening, opera and caring for her husband, son and grandchildren.
Mrs. Toman is survived by a son, Peter Toman, and his wife, Susan Barr-Toman, of Philadelphia and two beloved grandchildren, Ian and Oona Toman.
In addition to her husband, Vera was preceded in death by four siblings.
A viewing was held on Sunday, Dec. 18, at the Ethical Society Building, 1906 Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, Pa., where a short funeral service began at 4 pm. Interment was planned for Woodland Cemetery in Canada.
