Giuditta D’ Andraia of East Northport died on June 19 at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent; loving mother of the late Anthony, Joseph and his wife Lenore, Vincent, Gerard and his wife Barbara, Francis, Ralph and his wife Stacey; cherished grandmother of 19 and great-grandmother of 18.

A funeral Mass was held June 22 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, East Northport. Interment followed at St. Philip Neri Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, Tenn. 38101-2132.

Jeanne P. Michalek

Died: Monday, June 18, 2012

Jeanne P. Michalek (nee Chuya) of East Northport and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., died on June 18.

She was the beloved wife of the late Frank S. Michalek; loving mother of Frank, Ted and Eugene Michalek; cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held June 22 at Our Lady Queen of Martyr R.C. Church, Centerport. Interment followed at L.I. National Cemetery, Farmingdale.

Dorothy H. Brohan

Died: Sunday, June 17, 2012

Dorothy H. Brohan, 77 of Rocky Point, died June 17. Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late George and the late Catherine (Lastowsky) Denich. She was a homemaker in Rocky Point.

Mrs. Brohan is survived by two daughters, Helen Brohan of Rocky Point and Catherine Brohan; one son, Eugene Brohan of Patchogue; two sisters, Anna Doidge and Irene Kingston, both of Florida; and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Brohan.

Friends may call today, Thursday, June 21, from 5 to 9 pm at the funeral home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point. Interment will be Friday, June 25, at Calverton National Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Rocky Point Funeral Home of Rocky Point.

Margaret M. Muller

Died: Sunday, June 17, 2012

Margaret M. Muller (Peg) of Northport died on June 17. She was the beloved wife of George; loving mother of Craig and Keith Muller; cherished grandmother of Melissa.

A funeral service was held June 20 at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, Fort Salonga. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Suffolk, 505 Main Street, Northport, NY 11768 would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony Iovino

Died: Sunday, June 17, 2012

Anthony Iovino, 85 years old, a longtime community resident, died June 17.

He was born icon Dec. 31, 1926, in New York. He was retired NYPD- Highway 3 and a United States Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

Mr. Iovino is survived by his daughters, Jo Ann (Doug) Forman, Frank (Paula) and Joseph (Susan); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his brother, Frank.

Services were held at St. James RC Church on June 23. Mr. Iovino was afforded full military honors at St. Charles Cemetery.

Anthony Thomas Bove

Died: Sunday, June 17, 2012

Anthony Thomas Bove of Belle Terre died on June 17. He was born icon June 21, 1955.

Mr. Bove was the beloved husband of Cynthia; loving father of Thomas and Justin; dear brother of Vita Ann Pastorini and Thomas Bove.

Arnold J. Moran

Died: Friday, June 15, 2012

Arnold J. Moran, formerly of St. James, died on June 15.

He was the beloved husband of the late Alice; loving father of Robert and the late Richard; devoted grandfather of Steven and the late Lisa; dear great-grandfather of five.

A funeral Mass was held June 20 at Sts. Philip & James R. C. Church, St. James. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton.

Edwin J. Schretzmann

Died: Thursday, June 14, 2012

Edwin J. Schretzmann, 91 of Ridge, died Thursday, June 14. Born in Glendale, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Lillian (Meyer) Schretzmann. He served during World War II in the United States Army from June 15, 1942 to January 11, 1946. He was a mechanic employed by Grumman.

Mr. Schretzmann is survived by one daughter, Carol Spanier of Wellington, Fla.; four sons, Gary Schretzmann of Ridge, Alan Schretzmann of San Diego, Calif., Steven Schretzmann of Augusta, Ga., and Kenneth Schretzmann of Oakland, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary L. Schretzmann.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 25, at 3 pm at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point. A prayer service and interment will follow next day at Calverton National Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Rocky Point Funeral Home of Rocky Point.

Yianbiao Zhang

Died: Saturday, August 11, 2012

Yianbiao Zhang, 54, of Middle Island, died August 11. Born in China, he was the son of Xintian and Xichen (Ren) Zhang. He was a scientist, employed by Brookhaven National Lab. Survived by his wife, Rubin (Guo) Zhang; daughter, Weiwei Zhang of Florida; and son, Scott Zhang of Middle Island; sister, Qiuju Zhang and brother, Yanbin Zhang. A Closing Prayer was held Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment followed in Washington Memorial Park, Mount Sinai.

Arrangements were entrusted to Rocky Point Funeral Home of Rocky Point.

Vincent J. Gallo

Died: Wednesday, August 08, 2012

Vincent J. Gallo of Ridge died on August 8. He was the cherished soulmate of Christine Quinn; loving father of Danielle and Allison Gallo; adored stepfather of Laura Gerardi; devoted grandfather of Ava and Julia Gerardi.

Vinny is predeceased by his wife Kathryn and sister, Mary-Jo Fryer. He spent his life working at what he loved; he was a PGA golf pro at the Pine Ridge Golf Club. He was loved by everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

A funeral Mass was held August 13 at St. Mark’s R.C. Church, Shoreham. Cremation followed at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Association.

William E. Sullenger

Died: Sunday, August 05, 2012

William E. Sullenger, 79, of Midlothian, Va., formerly of Miller Place, died on August 5. He was born icon in Seminole County, Okla., and is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Sullenger; his daughter, Julie A. Jonason (Randy); three grandchildren, Sean Friss, Jessica Hughes (Ferdinand) and Jennifer Jonason; two great-grandchildren, Sean Curtis Hughes and Joshua Hughes; and a sister, Betty Harrell.

A memorial service was held August 8, at Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway, Chesterfield, VA. Interment to be held 1 pm today, August 9, at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA.

Patricia B. Taylor

Died: Sunday, August 05, 2012

Patricia B. Taylor, 72, of Rocky Point, died August 5. Born in Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Philip and the late Dorothy (Adams) Webber. She was employed in staff accounting for Zalk & Zalk, Huntington.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by one daughter, Carol Taylor of Rocky Point; one son, Thomas Taylor and three grandchildren. A private cremation was arranged by family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Rocky Point Funeral Home of Rocky Point.

John V. DeAngelo

Died: Sunday, August 05, 2012

John Vito DeAngelo, age 88, entered eternal rest at his home in Smithtown on August 5.

He was born icon Jan. 23, 1924, in Astoria, to the late Thomas and Mary DeAngelo. John attended Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan but left school during his senior year to enlist in the Army Air Force in 1942. Because of his enlistment, he was unable to graduate high school with his classmates. John was extremely proud of the fact that over 60 years later he was able to receive his high school diploma.

John was a New York City Police Officer for 20 years. He was promoted to detective and served in that capacity for the majority of those years. Once he retired from the police department, he went to work as a detective for The Legal Aid Society in Queens, New York for 14 years. After his retirement from The Legal Aid Society, he worked security at the Smithtown Country Club.

John served as trustee of his local church and also assisted with the Billy Graham Crusades for a number of years. Along with his wife, Frances, John opened his home to any family or friend in need.

John enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer. His greatest loves were the Lord, his wife, his family and golf. He was a true family man and lived life to the fullest.

John was the youngest of the four children of Thomas and Mary DeAngelo. He is survived by his eldest son, Michael and his wife, JoAnn; his eldest daughter, Mary; his second son, Tommy; his second daughter, Josephine and her husband, Michael; and his grandchildren: Daniel and his wife Sara, Jordan, Jonathan, Francesca, Sarah and David. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held August 8 at the funeral home. Interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Maher Family of the St. James Funeral Home, in St. James.
