Richard H. Snyder
CLIFTON PARK - Richard H. Snyder, 47, of Route 146, died Thursday as the result of a motorcycle-automobile accident.
Born in Niskayuna, Mr. Snyder was a 1968 graduate of Shenendehowa High School and attended Alfred University. Mr. Snyder lived most of his life in Clifton Park and also in Alexandria, Va., for about 10 years.

Mr. Snyder served in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1973.

He was a bartender at many local restaurants, including the Good Times in Ballston Lake and the Rusty Nail in Clifton Park, and was a bar manager and bartender for Michael's Banquet House in Latham. At the time of his death, Mr. Snyder was assistant manager for the J. Riggins Men's Clothing Co. at Crossgates Mall.

Mr. Snyder was a member of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1498.

He was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church.

Survivors include his parents, Harold and Josephine Garwatoski Snyder of Clifton Park; and three sisters, Barbara Jacophille of Rochester, Debbie Kilmade of Albany and Joan Pelham of Burnt Hills.

The services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, and at 9 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 6 Greenwood Drive, East Greenbush, N.Y., 12061.

Rita M. Edwards
BALLSTON LAKE - A private service will be held for Mrs. Rita M. Edwards, 85, of Midline Road, who died Thursday at Albany Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Southampton, Suffolk County, Mrs. Edwards was a resident of Ballston Lake since 1949.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church.

Her husband, David Edwards, died in 1983.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Edwards of Ballston Lake; two sons, Peter Edwards of Ballston Lake and Michael Edwards of San Francisco, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.

Burial will be in Sweetman Cemetery, Charlton.

Contributions may be made to the Ballston Lake Emergency Squad, Route 146A, Ballston Lake, 12019; or to Community Hospice of Albany, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, 12208.

Arrangements are by the Townley and Wheeler Funeral Home.

Robert D. Wittemeyer
GLOVERSVILLE - Robert D. Wittemeyer, 77, of North Street, died at home of an apparent homicide.
Mr. Wittemeyer was born in Amsterdam and lived in Fort Hunter for many years. He moved to Gloversville in 1961.

He was a laborer in the turbine generator building at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for many years.

Mr. Wittemeyer was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Amsterdam.

His wife, Emily L. Brooks Wittemeyer, whom he married May 30, 1963, died in 1992.

Survivors include a brother, Melvin Wittemeyer of Tribes Hill; two step-granddaughters; and three step-great-grandchildren.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Walrath & Bushouer Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.

Calling hours are from 9 a.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association in Albany or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 261, Gloversville, N.Y., 12078.

Wilma Harris, 79, was teacher in Burnt Hills and Albany
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. - Retired teacher Mrs. Wilma Harris, 79, of Village Drive, died Thursday at the Fairview Baptist Home as a result of Alzheimer's Disease.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Mrs. Harris lived in Boston, Gainesville, Fla., St. Paul, Minn., and in Schenectady. She received a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Toronto and a master's from Boston University.

She taught physics and chemistry at Burnt Hills High School and later at the Albany Academy for Girls. She was also a home teacher in Schenectady.

Her husband, Dr. Lawrence A. Harris, died in 1982.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Forbes of Villa Park, Ill.; a son, Daniel Harris of Toledo, Ohio; and two grandsons.

Mrs. Harris has made a gift to the Anatomical Gift Association.

Arrangements are by the D'Andrea Funeral Services of Chicago.

Melissa F. Lechman, 41, activewith Schenectady Light Opera
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Melissa F. Lechman, 41, of Van Vranken Avenue, died Tuesday at St. Peter's Hospice, Albany, after a long illness.
A lifelong Schenectady resident, Mrs. Lechman was a graduate of Linton High School, Schenectady County Community College, and the University at Albany.

For the past two years, she was a unit secretary at Ellis Hospital.

Mrs. Lechman was a member of the Thursday Musical Belles and the Octavo Singers. She was active in local theater productions and with the Schenectady Light Opera Company.

She was a member of St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Christopher Lechman; two sons, Justin Andrew Lechman and Alexander Joseph Lechman, both of Schenectady; her father, Joseph Ferro of Schenectady; and a brother, Joseph Ferro of Schenectady.

Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Friday at the DeLegge Funeral Home, 1346 Chrisler Ave., and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Helen's Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.

Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research Fund, 1450 Western Ave., Albany 12203; or Community Hospice at the Inn, St. Peter's Hospital, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany 12208.

Debra Bick Giemza, 42, nurse at Ellis Hospital 21 years

SCHENECTADY - Former nurse Mrs. Debra Bick Giemza, 42, of Garner Avenue, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Utica, Mrs. Giemza was a 1976 graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Amsterdam. She moved to Schenectady in 1977.

She was a registered nurse at Ellis Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 1997 due to the onset of illness.

Mrs. Giemza was a member of Ladies Auxiliary 156, Knights of St. John International, in Utica. She was a volunteer at St. Helen's School.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Schenectady and served on the church's board of directors.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Paul Giemza; a son, Mark F. Giemza of Schenectady; a daughter, Sarah E. Giemza of Schenectady; her mother, Dorothy Flanders Bick of Utica; three brothers, Daniel Bick of Niskayuna, Charles Bick of Whitesboro and David Bick of Utica; and three sisters, Diane Cromer of Marcy, Karolyn Sayles of Sherrill and Dorothy Facci of Charlton.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union St.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, St. Helen's School or the Church of the Nazarene.

Brent T. Aldrich
TROY - Brent T. Aldrich, 26, of Fourth Avenue, died Nov. 25 at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Kaneohe, Hawaii, Mr. Aldrich was educated in Lansingburgh.

At one time, he was a mechanic for Midas Muffler in Clifton Park and Brunswick before retiring as a result of disability.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Garrow Herb of Lansingburgh; his father, Glen Aldrich of Poulsbo, Wash.; a stepsister, Leah Herb; and his grandparents, Wilfred and Catherine Renaudette Garrow and Cecile Herb, all of Pleasantdale.

Services will be private.

Burial will be in Waterford Rural Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, Waterford.

Carmel Capone Adinolfi
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Mrs. Carmel "Nancy" Capone Adinolfi, 83, of Oak Street, died Monday at home.
A lifelong Saratoga Springs resident, Mrs. Adinolfi was a press operator for Thompson Laundry for many years and also worked for the Espey Manufacturing Co. on Ballston Avenue.

She was a member of St. Clement's Church and the Principessa Elena Women's Society.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, George J. Adinolfi; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Niznik of Porter Corners; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Zorn of Saratoga Springs; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Clement's Church, Lake Avenue.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Avenue.

Calling hours will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Wm. J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, during which the Principessa Elena Women's Society will meet at 10.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Saratoga Emergency Corps.
