Salvatore Buscini
ROTTERDAM - Salvatore Buscini, 88, of Wellington Avenue, died Wednesday at Kingsway Arms after a short illness.
Born and educated in Polizzo, Sicily, Italy, Mr. Buscini served in the merchant marine, and then moved to Brooklyn in the early 1930s.

For more than 20 years, he worked for J.I. Hass Co. in Newark, N.J., retiring in 1951 as foreman of its Commercial Painting Co..

Mr. Buscini came to this area at that time.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Rotterdam.

Mr. Buscini was a member of Rotterdam Knights of Columbus Council 5703 and Lt. Governor Wallace Assembly 4th Degree.

He was also a member of the Painters Union in New York City.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Nardo Buscini, whom he married Feb. 13, 1938; a son, Joseph Buscini of Rensselaer; two daughters, Madeline Foley of Schenectady, and Lucille Mayo of Rotterdam; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at N. Rossi & Sons Funeral Home, Union at North Jay streets, followed at 10 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Princetown Road, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.

A calling hour from 8 to 9 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home will precede the services.

Samantha Myers
TROY - Samantha Ann Myers, the 5-month-old infant daughter of David J. and Sandra L. Kofahl Myers of Billings Avenue, died Wednesday at home after being stricken.
Samantha was born in Troy.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a brother, Justin Kofahl; a sister, Christina Myers; her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Barbara Kofahl of Deland, Fla.; and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Myers of Troy.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Bryce Funeral Home, corner of Pawling and Maple avenues, and at 9:30 at Sacred Heart Church a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.

Timothy Klink
TROY - Timothy Joseph Klink, 26, died Tuesday at Albany Memorial Hospital after being stricken at work.
Born in Auburn, Mr. Klink was a 1991 graduate of Auburn High School.

He was a 1995 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a bachelor's degree in computer and system engineering.

Mr. Klink was an advisory and networking/computing engineer at Unified Technologies, RPI Tech Park, North Greenbush.

Previously, Mr. Klink worked for RPI's ITS Consulting Department.

While a student at RPI, he was a member of Alpha Psi Omega (National Theatrical Honor Fraternity); Alpha Phi Omega (National Community Service Organization); and the RPI Players.

Mr. Klink was a communicant of the RPI's Chapel and Cultural Center.

Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Mary Ann Boyer Klink of Auburn; his wife, Laura Buckanin Klink; a son, Aidan Klink; and a brother, Daniel Klink of Auburn.

Services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Parker Bros Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, followed at 10 at the Chapel and Cultural Center at RPI where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to an education fund for his son, Aidan, in care of HSBC, RPI Student Union Building, Sage Avenue and 15th St., Troy, NY 12180.

Vincent Forino
MECHANICVILLE - Vincent "Jim" Forino, 74, of North Main Street, died Tuesday at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Mr. Forino was a lifelong city resident.

He was an ironworker, working out of Ironworkers Union Local 12, Albany.

For many years, Mr. Forino worked for Forino Steel Erectors.

Previously, he was a signalman for the Boston & Maine Railroad.

During World War II, Mr. Forino served in Europe as a technical sergeant with U.S. Army and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; the American Legion; and Plum Brook Fish and Game Club.

Mr. Forino was a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church and was a member of its Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Anna Fascia Forino, whom he married May 27, 1956; four daughters, Deborah Zima of Colonie, Ann McQuade of Morganville, N.J., Patricia Markessinis of North Greenbush and Mary Forino of Albany; two sisters, Margaret Erano and Mary Santagato, both of Mechanicville; two brothers, Anthony and Andrew Forino, both of Mechanicville; and six grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Assumption-St. Paul Church, William Street.

Burial with military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S. Main St.

Contributions may be made to the John Ahearn Rescue Squad; or the American Diabetes Association, 50 Colvin Ave., Albany 12206.

William Gates
ROTTERDAM - William H. Gates, 58, of Rotterdam, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Rensselaer, Mr. Gates lived in Rotterdam for the past 20 years.

Mr. Gates was a truck driver for the Golub Corp./Price Chopper for 31 years. He was presented with an award by the company in January for 30 years of safe and professional driving.

He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Schenectady.

Survivors include his wife, Doreen Sabourin Gates; a son, Lawrence M. Gates of Schenectady; two daughters, Kimberly L. Gates of Schenectady and Debrah Rose of Ballston Lake; a sister, Jenanette Ballard of Glenville; and three granddaughters.

The services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, and at 11 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Paul's Church, Schenectady.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 this afternoon and 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Church in Schenectady; or the American Cancer Society.

Genevieve Ross, 89, owned restaurant in Saratoga Springs

STAMFORD, Conn. - Former restaurant owner Mrs. Genevieve "Jay" Santoro Ross, 89, of Stamford, formerly of Schenectady and Hollywood, Fla., died Friday in Stamford, Conn.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Ross lived in Stamford since 1996.

She was a stitcher in a baseball factory in the Mont Pleasant area in her early years. Later, Mrs. Ross was the owner of Aunt Lucy's Chicken House in Saratoga Springs.

While residing in Florida, Mrs. Ross was a founder of a popular "Over 60" club.

She spent the summer months at the Great Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondacks for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Ross was the widow of Salvan Ross Sr., whom she married in 1929.

Survivors include two sons, Salvan Ross Jr. of Stamford and Vincent Ross of Saratoga Springs; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady.

There will be no calling hours.

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. A reception will follow at The Woodlin Club, Glenville.

Arrangements are by the N. Rossi & Sons Funeral Home, Schenectady.

Thomas E. Baker, 34, executive at auto service in Ballston Spa
MIDDLE GROVE - Thomas E. Baker, 34, of Middle Grove, died Thursday in St. Michel des Saints, Quebec, as a result of a snowmobile accident.
Born in Ballston Spa, Mr. Baker was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1983 graduate of Ballston Spa High School and a 1985 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College.

Mr. Baker was vice president of Baker's Auto Service in Ballston Spa.

He was a member of the Kayaderroseras Fish and Game Club of Ballston Spa, vice president of the Hoffman Fish & Game Protective Association, president of the East Galway Snowmobile Club and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was a New York state sportsman instructor and a certified automotive master technician.

Mr. Baker was an Episcopalian.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Young Baker, whom he married in 1992; his parents, Beverly Wagner Baker and John M. Baker Sr. of Ballston Spa; a brother, John M. Baker Jr. of Ballston Spa; and a sister, Cheryl Grugan of Ballston Spa.

The services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, and at 10 a.m. a requiem Mass will be celebrated at Christ Church, High Street, Ballston Spa. Calling hours will be from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the attention of the treasurer of the Thomas E. Baker Memorial Automotive Scholarship Fund at Saratoga BOCES, 10 LaCrosse Sr., Hudson Falls, NY 12839 or to the care of Linda Czubernat, treasurer of the Thomas E. Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund of the East Galway Snowmobile Club, 1945 Route 29, Galway, NY 12074.

Charles Rouault, of Rotterdam, was mechanical engineer at GE

ROTTERDAM - Retired General Electric Co. engineer Charles L. Rouault, 83, of Putnam Road, died Saturday at Ellis Hospital after being stricken.
Mr. Rouault was born in Jersey City, N.J. He was raised in Franklin, Pa., and came to Schenectady in 1965.

He was a graduate of Franklin High School and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J.

Mr. Rouault worked as a mechanical engineer at GE until his retirement in 1978.

He was a member of the General Electric Quarter Century Club.

Mr. Rouault was a member of the Unitarian Church in Schenectady.

His first wife, Pauline Allen Rouault, died in 1980.

Survivors include his wife, Camilla Clough Rouault; two sons, Jeffrey Allen of New York City and Dr. Charles L. Rouault of Plantation, Fla.; a daughter, Dr. Tracey Rouault of Bethesda, Md.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be private. There are no calling hours.

Cremation will be in the Vale Cemetery Crematorium.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stevens Institute of Technology of Hoboken, Castle Point Station, Hoboken, NJ 07030.

Arrangements are by the DeLegge Funeral Home, 1346 Chrisler Ave., Schenectady.
