Frances Wager
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Frances "Fay" Nuzback Wager, 86, died Saturday at Hallmark Nursing Home, Rotterdam.
Born in Scranton, Pa., Mrs. Wager had lived in Schenectady since the late 1950s.

She worked as a clerk at the Barney Department Store in Schenectady for many years.

Mrs. Wager was the widow of John Wager, who died in 1982.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Mrs. Wager is survived by a brother, Tony Nuzback of Wisconsin.

A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue. A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1450 Western Ave., Albany, NY 12203.

John A. Relyea
SARATOGA SPRINGS - John A. Relyea, 75, died Saturday of congestive heart failure at Saratoga Hospital.
Born in Ballston, Mr. Relyea was a longtime resident of Saratoga Springs.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Italy.

Mr. Relyea owned and operated his own plumbing business and also worked for Congress Gas and The Saratogian, all of Saratoga Springs.

He was a lifetime member of the Maple Avenue Volunteer Fire Department, the Saratoga Masons, the VFW Post 420, the American Legion Post 70, and the Eagles, all of Saratoga Springs.

Mr. Relyea was a deacon and member of the First Baptist Church, Saratoga Springs.

Survivors include his son, John R. Relyea of Greenfield; two daughters, Nancy L. Relyea and Lisa M. Marshall, both of Greenfield; a sister, Alameda Hurd of Greenfield; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the VFW Post 420 in Saratoga Springs.

An anatomical gift has been made to Albany Medical College.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12205.

Arrangements are by the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.

Katheryn Gazlay Weigele
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Katheryn Gazlay Weigele, 81, died Sunday at St. Clare's Hospital.
Born in Accord, Mrs. Weigele lived in the Kingston area before moving to Schenectady in 1942.

She worked as a retail salesperson at the former Addis & Day Store and the Boston Store, both in Schenectady, for more than 12 years.

Mrs. Weigele was a former member of the Bellevue Reformed Church.

Survivors include two children, Linda Penta of Hershey, Pa., and Joanne Snure of Guilderland; a brother, Clyde Gazlay of Lake George; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lynnwood Reformed Church, 3700 Carman Road. A gathering will precede the service at 10 at the church.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery, Stone Ridge.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12309.

Arrangements are by Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue.

Mary Morse
JOHNSTOWN - Mrs. Mary Deubel Morse, 34, of North Perry Street, died suddenly Saturday at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
Born in Yonkers, Mrs. Morse was a longtime Gloversville resident.

She worked as a clerk at "Handy Ups & Downs" in Amsterdam.

Survivors include her three daughters, Susan, Melissa and Deborah Morse, all of Fort Johnson; a sister, Debra S. Snell of St. Johnsville; and two brothers, Christopher and Alan Deubel, both of Gloversville.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1450 Western Ave., Room 101, Albany, NY 12203-3572.

Robert Donnelly Jr.
AMSTERDAM - Robert W. Donnelly Jr., infant son of Robert W. Donnelly Sr. and Lisa DelliVeneri of William Street, died Sunday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital shortly after being admitted.
Robert was born on April 11 in Amsterdam.

In addition to his parents, Robert is survived by three half sisters, Crystal and Libina Thomason, both of Tennessee, and Ashley Donnelly of Perth; and his paternal grandparents, Robert Donnelly and Nancy Nicholas.

Services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Riley Mortuary, 110 Division St., followed at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 156 E. Main St., where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Institute Education Fund, Upper Church Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

Robert J. Gilson
SCHENECTADY - Robert J. Gilson, 84, formerly of State Street, died Friday at Hallmark Nursing Centre.
Mr. Gilson was born in Glens Falls and lived in Schenectady for several years.

He was a cook at the former Country Gentlemen Restaurant in Saratoga Springs and the Turf Tavern in Scotia prior to his retirement.

Mr. Gilson was an Army veteran of World War II.

There are no known survivors.

Cremation will take place at Vale Crematory.

Arrangements are by the Gleason Funeral Home.

George Reynolds, was executive of bank, active with Baptists
TROY - George Bartholomew Reynolds, 85, of Euclid Avenue, died Saturday at the Heritage House Nursing Center after a long illness.
Born in Troy, Mr. Reynolds lived here all his life and was educated at Lansingburgh High School and Troy Business College.

He was employed at the Troy Cooperative Savings and Loan Association, where he became president. After several mergers, the bank became Trustco Bank, and Mr. Reynolds served as vice president there until his retirement 24 years ago.

For 70 years, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the trustees and the diaconate board.

Mr. Reynolds was a member of the Troy Kiwanis Club, the Brunswick Elks Lodge, the Phoenix Masonic Lodge, the Troy American Legion Post, the Greater Capital Association of Realtors, the Troy Vocal Society, the Hendrick Hudson Male Chorus, and the former Bethesda Home board.

He was a Samaritan Hospital volunteer for 20 years.

An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Reynolds served with the Army's 705th Ordnance Company in Europe.

Survivors include his wife, Edwena Loffts Reynolds; a daughter, Nancy R. Stocking of Yardley, Pa.; a son, Phillip W. Reynolds of Troy; a brother, Charles E. Reynolds of Troy; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at the First Baptist Church, 82 Third St. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

Contributions in memory of Mr. Reynolds may be made to the First Baptist Church, 82 Third St., Troy 12180, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Capital District Chapter, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany 12206.

Arrangements are by the Bryce Funeral Home.

Dr. Elliott Sweetser, psychiatrist, worked in children's mental health
NISKAYUNA - Dr. Elliott H. Sweetser, a psychiatrist in the area for many years, died Sunday at Ellis Hospital after a long illness.
Dr. Sweetser was born in Malden, Mass., Aug. 12, 1917.

He received his bachelor's degree from Tufts University in 1939; he was Phi Beta Kappa and graduated magna cum laude. He received is M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine in 1943.

Dr. Sweetser was inducted into the Army Medical Corps in 1943 and served as a captain in England, France and Germany during World War II. During that time he married Aileene Brazeal of Indianapolis, who was serving in the American Red Cross in Europe.

After the war Dr. Sweetser served residencies in psychiatry in the Boston, Bedford and Cushing Veterans Administration hospitals, and Boston State Hospital. After gaining certification in psychiatry in 1950, he joined the staff of Massachusetts General Hospital, James Jackson Putnam Children's Center, and the Children's Hospital of Boston. He taught child psychiatry at Harvard University Medical School prior to moving to Schenectady in 1958 as director of the Schenectady County Mental Health Board.

Dr. Sweetser taught at Albany Medical College and was staff psychiatrist at the Schenectady Child Guidance Center until 1978. He taught at Albany Medical Center and consulted at St. Clare's Hospital, Schenectady Family & Child Services, Catholic Charities, Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, and Ellis Hospital prior to retirement in 1991.

He was on the staff of St. Mary's Hospital and Montgomery County Mental Health Center. He was a life member of the medical societies of Massachusetts, New York state, and Schenectady County and the American Psychiatric Association.

He traveled and did photography in his retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years; one son, Elliott T. Sweetser of Highland Lakes, N.J.; a daughter, Kate Sweetser McConaghy of Sherman, Conn.; and grandchildren.

Services will be private.

A memorial celebration of his life is scheduled at the Unitarian Society on Wendell Avenue, Schenectady, at 4 p.m. June 30. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Community Hospice Foundation at 1411 Union St., Schenectady, or the Ellis Hospital Foundation.

Local arrangements are by Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road.

Antoinette McNeary, owner of DeGregory's Restaurant
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Mrs. Antoinette M. McNeary, 87, of Benten Drive, died Sunday at Saratoga Hospital.
Born in New York City, Mrs. McNeary was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs, where she owned and operated DeGregory's Restaurant for many years.

She was a member of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church.

Her husband, Frederick McNeary, died in January 1942.

Survivors include two sons, Frederick McNeary and William McNeary, both of Saratoga Springs; a brother, Andrew DeGregorio of Saratoga Springs; a sister, Eva Viscusi of Saratoga Springs; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs 12866, in memory of Mrs. McNeary.

Arrangements are by the William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway.
