Raymond F. Barker
SCHENECTADY - Raymond F. Barker, 77, of Phoenix Avenue, died Wednesday at St. Clare's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mr. Barker was a lifelong resident.

He was a 1942 graduate of the former Nott Terrace High School and was a Siena College graduate.

Mr. Barker was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1988.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Barker was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Yager Barker, whom he married Oct. 25, 1947; a son, Douglas Barker of Casper, Wyoming; a daughter, Lydia Barker of Schenectady; and two grandchildren.

There are no services scheduled.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to St. Clare's Hospital; Zion Lutheran Church; or the Pet Connection in care of WTEN.

Arrangements are by the Griswold Funeral Home.

Scott L. Gould
DELANSON - Scott L. Gould, 43, of Church Road, died Tuesday at St. Peter's Hospital as a result of cancer.
Mr. Gould was born in Watertown and been a resident of Delanson for the past 10 years.

He served in the Army from 1976 to 1979.

Mr. Gould was a computer network engineer with Inter Media Communication of Albany.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Deanna L. Gould; two daughters, Julie McCarthy of Phoenix and Cathy Meyers of Delanson; a son, Richard Gould of Watertown; his mother, Eleanor Gould of Watertown; his father and stepmother, Kenneth and Gene Gould, both of Watertown; two brothers, Kenneth Gould of Webster and Bryan Gould of Brockport; a sister, Crystal Mesick of Erie, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.

Calling hours are from 1 p.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.

Verna `Auntie' Chagnon
LATHAM - Mrs. Verna P. "Auntie" Chagnon, 85, of Old Niskayuna Road, died Wednesday at Albany Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Chagnon was educated in the Colonie School District and lived in Colonie for more than 50 years.

She operated a truck farm with her husband on Old Niskayuna Road until 1996.

Mrs. Chagnon was a member of the Newtonville United Methodist Church.

She was the widow of Rudolph B. Chagnon.

Survivors include a brother, Burton Primett of Clifton Park.

The service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road.

Calling hours will be from 4 this afternoon until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.

Memorial contributions may be made to charity.

William Kraus Sr.
RENSSELAER - William A. Kraus Sr., 70, of 4th Avenue, died Thursday at Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital in Albany after a long illness.
Born in New York City, Mr. Kraus had been a longtime New York City area resident before moving to the Capital District.

He worked in construction in New York City for many years.

Mr. Kraus was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He was active in the adult day program at Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital and was a member of the U.S.S. Tripoli Association CVE-64.

Mr. Kraus was the widower of Rose Dara Kraus.

Survivors include a son, William Kraus of East Greenbush; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 50 Herrick St.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk.

Contributions may be made to the Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital's adult day program, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.

William S. Emigh
BURNT HILLS - William S. Emigh, 81, of Roseland Boulevard, died at home Wednesday after a long illness.
Mr. Emigh was born in Rock City Falls and moved to Burnt Hills in the 1950s.

Mr. Emigh was an instrumentation technician for the General Electric Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1983.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe and Africa from 1943 to 1945.

Mr. Emigh attended Rock City Falls United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Sinnenberg Emigh, whom he married Sept. 13, 1952; a son, Paul W. Emigh of Rotterdam; a daughter, Mary C. Conklin of Burnt Hills; a brother, Harold Emigh of Rock City Falls; a sister, Dorothea Baker of Burnt Hills; and three grandchildren.

A service will be held at noon Saturday at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville.

Calling hours are 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at 12:45 p.m. Monday at Saratoga National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eddy Visiting Nurse Association in care of Northeast Health, Greene Medical Arts Center, 159 Jefferson Heights, Suite D 301, Catskill, NY 12414; or the American Lung Association, 3 Winners Circle, Suite 300, Albany, NY 12205.

William Holtman Jr.
SCHENECTADY - Private services will be held for William T. Holtman Jr., 39, of Union Street, who died Thursday at Ellis Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Baltimore, Md., Mr. Holtman had been a resident of this area for two years.

He had been a specialist in wiring alarms for the Merritt Security Co. of Baltimore for several years until becoming medically disabled.

Mr. Holtman was a Methodist.

Survivors include his parents, William T. Holtman Sr. and Dorothy Cluster Holtman, both of Baltimore, Md.; and a sister, Karen Cockrell of Baltimore, Md.

There are no calling hours.

Cremation will take place at Vale Crematory.

Arrangements are by the Feeley-Nuzback Funeral Home, Scotia.

Pasquale `Pat' Casaburi
GLOVERSVILLE - Private services will be held for Pasquale F. "Pat" Casaburi, 86, of Route 349, who died Wednesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
Born in Gloversville, Mr. Casaburi was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Gloversville High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Casaburi was a self-employed construction worker and cattle dealer.

He owned several harness track race horses and was the recipient of numerous awards from the Saratoga Harness Track.

Mr. Casaburi was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church.

Survivors include his wife, Cecelia Kubran Casaburi, whom he married in 1938; two sisters, Ethel Salino of Gloversville and Autilio Young of Johnstown.

There are no calling hours.

Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady.

Memorial contributions may be made to charity.

Arrangements are by the John W. Finocan Funeral Home.

Edward F. Aitken
MEADVILLE, Pa. - Edward F. Aitken, 75, of Roger Ferry Road, died Jan. 2 at the Crawford County Care Center after a long illness.
Born in Long Island City, N.Y., Mr. Aitken was a 1942 graduate of Columbia High School in East Greenbush. He became an Eagle Scout in 1941 and was also a scout master.

Mr. Aitken served in the Navy, retiring in 1961 as a chief petty officer.

He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 1982.

Mr. Aitken was a member of the Harmonsburg United Methodist Church and was a former member of Trinity Reformed Church in Rotterdam and the Woestina Reformed Church in Rotterdam Junction.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Proper Aitken, whom he married June 27, 1948; a daughter, Bonnie Williamson of Amsterdam, N.Y.; two sons, Bruce and Scott Aitken, both of Meadville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Woestina Reformed Church, Rotterdam Junction.

Burial will be in Viewland Cemetery, Schenectady.

Local arrangements are by the De Stefano Funeral Home, Amsterdam.
