Leo Paquin Sr.
RENSSELAER - Leo Paquin Sr., 95, of Broadway, died Monday at Albany Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Manchester, N.H., Mr. Paquin lived in Rensselaer for 40 years.

He was a stationary fireman and engineer for APW and Steiner Tissue.

Mr. Paquin was a member of the Kinderhook Council Knights of Columbus 7606, Donald E. LaValley 4th Degree Assembly of Hudson, G.S. Mink and T. Claxton Hose Fire Company in Rensselaer and the Rensselaer Senior Citizens.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.

Mr. Paquin was the widower of Theresa "Tess" Heneghan Paquin.

Survivors include six sons, James Paquin of Colonie, John and Leon Paquin Jr., both of Rensselaer, Michael Paquin of Niverville, Henry Paquin of North Greenbush and Charles Paquin of East Greenbush; two daughters, Mary Borcsok of New Baltimore and Patty Cannon of Castleton; 29 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., and at 10:30 a.m. the Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Third Street. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.

Leona Sobieski
ROTTERDAM - Mrs. Leona E. Sobieski, 84, of Wescott Road, died Sunday at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.
Mrs. Sobieski was born in Burlington, Vt.

She was an assistant to the buyer in the dress department at the Barney Co. in Schenectady for more than eight years. She also worked for Hollywood Cleaners in Schenectady.

Mrs. Sobieski was a member of the Home Bureau and a former member of the Draper High School Parent-Teacher Association.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Carl L. Sobieski, whom she married April 20, 1940, died in 1992.

Survivors include three daughters, Carla Magiera of Esperance, Lee S. Roy of Schenectady and Michele Boni of Latham; four sisters, Violet Sommerfeld of Bradenton, Fla., Beulah Tomaszewski of Michigan City, Ind., and Winifred Cimino and Harriett Furlano, both of Schenectady; a brother, Harold Duchane of Scotia; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Bond Funeral Home, at Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady.

A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Cyril's Cemetery.

Nicoline Pusz
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Nicoline Jiusto Pusz, 86, of Kings Road, died Monday at St. Clare's Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Pusz was a lifelong area resident.

She worked for many years in the family business, Jiusto Brothers Produce, retiring in 1985.

Her husband, Walter Pusz, died in 1967.

Survivors include a brother, Felix Jiusto of Rotterdam; and a sister, Anna Poulin of Rotterdam.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gabriel's Church.

There are no calling hours.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clare's Foundation, 600 McClellan St., Schenectady, NY 12304.

Arrangements are by the Daly Funeral Home.

Pauline Herkel
ST. CLOUD, Fla. - Services were held for Mrs. Pauline M. Herkel, 91, of St. Cloud, who died on Thursday.
Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., Mrs. Herkel lived on Quaker Street. She moved to central Florida in 1974.

Her husband, Charles A. Herkel, died in 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, MaryAnn Grathwol of Mountain City, Ga.; a son, Charles L. Herkel of Schenectady; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, Kissimmee, Fla.

Arrangements were by the Fisk Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Richard O. McCary
SCHENECTADY - Richard O. McCary, 75, formerly of Valencia Road, Niskayuna, died Monday at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center after being stricken.
Born in Sherman, Texas, Mr. McCary had lived in Schenectady, Syracuse, Ithaca and Phoenix, Ariz., before returning to Schenectady.

He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1946 from the University of Louisville and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University in 1956.

Mr. McCary began working for the General Electric Co. in Erie, Pa., in 1946 and retired from GE Research and Development Laboratory in Niskayuna in 1992.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving in Oahu, Hawaii, until 1953.

Mr. McCary was a member of the IEEE, Sigma Xi, Boy Scouts of America, National Rifle Association, GE Elfun Society and the Helderberg Twirlers Square Dance CLub.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Schenectady and was active in the Adult Bible CLub. He did many programs for the Men's Dialogue Group and was an instructor of the Youth Group.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Helen Rucker McCary; two daughters, Kathryn McCary of Schenectady and Eileen Terrell of Frisco, Texas; a son, Brian McCary of Clayton, Mo.; a sister, Elizabeth Smith of Bremertown, Wash.; and a grandchild. His daughter, Sharon McCary, died in December 2000.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed Church of Schenectady, Union at North Church streets.

Burial will be at a later date in International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Denton, Texas.

Contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Proctor's Theatre or Schenectady Civic Players.

Arrangements are by the Jones Funeral Home.

Ricky A. Dillenbeck
FORT PLAIN - Ricky A. Dillenbeck, 48, of Rouse Road, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a long illness.
Born in Little Falls, Mr. Dillenbeck was educated in area country schools and was a lifelong area resident. He worked at Lexington Industries in Gloversville for 30 years.

Mr. Dillenbeck was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Stone Arabia.

Survivors include his parents, William and Sadie Dillenbeck of Fort Plain; a sister, Joanne Heiser of Canajoharie; and two brothers, Alan W. Dillenbeck of Plymouth, Mass., and Kevin Dillenbeck of Canajoharie.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John-St. Mark Lutheran Church, Church Street, Canajoharie. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie.

Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lexington Center, 127 E. State St., Gloversville, NY 12078 or the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 126, Canajoharie, NY 13317.

Robert A. Coonradt
VENICE, Fla. - Robert A. Coonradt, 69, of Roma Road, died at home Sunday after being stricken.
Born in Troy, Mr. Coonradt was a graduate of Troy High School.

He was a Navy Air Force veteran, serving as an aviation mechanic from 1952 to 1955.

Mr. Coonradt was an auto mechanic for many years. He also owned and operated Bob Coonradt Latham-American in Latham. He retired to Sarasota, Fla., and was a member of a Sarasota flying club.

Survivors include his wife, Teresita Coonradt; three sons, Timothy A. Coonradt of Sarasota, Fla., Robert A. Coonradt of Concord, Calif., and Kevin P. Coonradt of Amsterdam; a daughter, Edith Watson of Scotia; a brother, David Coonradt of Grafton; a sister, Helen Frasier of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 115th Street and Fourth Avenue, Lansingburgh.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial with military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Rosalie Bixby
COLONIE - Mrs. Rosalie J. Bixby, 66, of Colonie, died Sunday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born in Proctorsville, Vt., Mrs. Bixby lived most of her life in the town of Colonie.

She worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for 23 years, retiring in 1996.

Mrs. Bixby was a member of St. James Methodist Church, Proctorsville, Vt.

She was married to Clarence E. Bixby for 47 years until his death.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Bixby of Proctorsville and Randy Bixby of Mt. Holly, Vt.; a daughter, Rhonda Bixby of Colonie; two sisters, Bessie Webb of Ludlow, Vt., and Maxine Bixby of Whitehall; a brother, Robert Lawrence of Proctorsville; and four grandchildren.

Calling hours and a memorial service for family members will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Adams & Kenney Funeral Home, 12 Meadow St., Ludlow, Vt.

A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Proctorsville.

Theresa Reddy
STILLWATER - Ms. Theresa L. Reddy, 78, of Flike Road, died Monday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.
Born in Riverside, Ms. Reddy lived most of her adult life in Stillwater. She was a clerk in the tool crib area at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, retiring in 1985. Previously, she worked at the Watervliet Arsenal and the Stillwater Knitting Mill.

Ms. Reddy was a member of the Mechanicville-Stillwater Senior Citizens and the Arvin Hart Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 490 Auxiliary.

She was a former member of St. Paul's Church and was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Shorter of Mechanicville, William Shorter of Stillwater and Gary Shorter of Chicago; a daughter, Debra O'Donnell of Saratoga Springs; and five grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Church. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S. Main St., Mechanicville.

Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
