Beulah Thompson
GLOVERSVILLE - Private services will be held for Mrs. Beulah Brownell Thompson, who worked for Decca Records and its successor, the MCA Record Co., for many years before retiring. Mrs. Thompson, 76, of the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, died Wednesday at the facility.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Northville and lived in Gloversville for most of her life. She moved to the facility seven years ago.

Her husband, Everett C. Thompson, whom she married July 7, 1940, died in 1989.

Survivors include three sons, Bill, Doug and Robert Thompson, all of Gloversville; six daughters, Deborah Raykoskie and Jean Eaton, both of Texas, Pam Greenough of Fonda, and Nancy Ruck, Donna Genatiempo and Kim Sparks, all of Gloversville; a brother, Glen Brownell of Arizona; two sisters, Helen Johnson and Beatrice Brownell, both of St. Johnsville; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 tonight at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Northville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12205; or the charity of choice.

Elena Coppola
ROTTERDAM - Mrs. Elena Coppola, who was an embroiderer in the sewing room of the former Carl Co. for many years, died Tuesday at the Glendale Home after a short illness. Mrs. Coppola, formerly of Aster Street, was 87.
Born in Maschito, Italy, Mrs. Coppola came to Schenectady in 1926.

She was a clerk for the former Sunrise Gardens Variety Store, Rotterdam.

Mrs. Coppola was a member of the Guilderland Home Bureau Association and the Community Mothers Club.

Her husband, Benjamin Coppola, died in 1994.

Survivors include three sons, Peter Coppola of Cary, N.C., Richard Coppola of La Plata, Md., and David Coppola of Mechanicville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the DeLegge Funeral Home, 1346 Chrisler Ave., Schenectady.

A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308; or the Visiting Nurse Service Association of Schenectady County, 108 Erie Blvd., Schenectady, NY 12305.

Ellen Chase
AMSTERDAM - Private services will be held for Mrs. Ellen Callahan Chase, 72, of Grove Place, who died Tuesday at the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home after a short illness.
Born and educated in Troy, Mrs. Chase was a graduate of St. Peter's Catholic School and Troy High School. She was a lifelong area resident.

For many years, Mrs. Chase was a clerk at the Kmart store in Colonie. She retired several years ago.

Mrs. Chase was a member of the Ladies of the Moose.

Her husband, Dexter Chase, whom she married in 1957, died in 1996.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Ruth Trombley of Clifton Park and Veronica Nardi of Rotterdam.

Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady.

Arrangements are by the Daly Funeral Home, Schenectady.

Erna M. Blanke
GLOVERSVILLE - Mrs. Erna M. Blanke, 93, formerly of St. Thomas Place, died Wednesday at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility in Johnstown.
Born in Tempelburg, Pommern, Germany, Mrs. Blanke attended schools in Germany. She moved to New York City in 1928 and relocated to Gloversville in 1967. She and her husband operated the Grafunder Variety Store in New York City for many years.

Mrs. Blanke was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and its Daughters of Luther.

She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens of Gloversville. Mrs. Blanke was a former member of the Cayadutta Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Concordia Club of Gloversville.

Her first husband, Herman Grafunder, died in 1960. She married John Blanke on Jan. 22, 1967. He died in 1988.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Kathleen Miller of Gloversville; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandson.

The service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens Center.

Frank Stanton
WARNERVILLE - Frank M. Stanton, who operated a dairy farm with his brother, Elwood, died Tuesday at the Bassett Health Facility in Cooperstown. Mr. Stanton, of West Fulton Road, was 80.
Born in the town of Fulton, Mr. Stanton was a lifelong area resident.

Survivors include a sister, Doris King of Sharon Springs.

The service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 68 Elm St., Cobleskill. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Patria Cemetery, town of Fulton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Richmondville Volunteer Rescue Squad, Richmondville, NY 12149.

Gladys W. Fort
MECHANICVILLE - Mrs. Gladys W. Fort, 93, of South Main Street, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after a long illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Fort was a 1927 graduate of Mechanicville High School.

She was a homemaker and assisted her husband with the operation of their former business.

Mrs. Fort was a member of the Mechanicville Home Bureau.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mechanicville.

Sidney V. Fort, her husband of 50 years, died in 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Leggett of Mechanicville; and a grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hudson View Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S. Main St.

Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York chapter, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206; or the John Ahearn Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 669, Mechanicville, NY 12118.

Helen M. Sager
OLYMPIA, Wash. - Mrs. Helen M. Sager, 66, of Olympia, Wash., formerly of Amsterdam, died at home Sunday as a result of cancer.
Born in Cherry Valley, N.Y., Mrs. Sager was a 1953 graduate of Amsterdam High School. She completed training at St. Mary's Hospital as a certified nurse's aide. She worked in Amsterdam, Sarasota, Fla., and Olympia.

Mrs. Sager was a Roman Catholic.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Sager; a son, John-Paul Sager of Olympia; a daughter, Lori Jason of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Rose Seaman of Richfield Springs; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed at 9:15 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Helen Peacock
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Mrs. Helen B. Peacock, 83, of Stonequist Apartments, died Tuesday at Saratoga Hospital.
Mrs. Peacock was born in Paterson, N.J..

She was an active member of the Wilton Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Peacock was the widow of Frank C. Peacock Sr.

Survivors include a son, Frank C. Peacock Jr. of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; two daughters, Phyllis Leahy of Ardentsville, Pa., and Cheryl Fogle of Saratoga Springs; and six grandchildren.

Services will be held at 8:30 tonight at the Tunison Funeral Home, 105 Lake Ave.

Calling hours will begin at 7 this evening at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Wilton at 11 a.m. Friday.

Mary T. Dahl
COBLESKILL - Mrs. Mary T. Dahl, 89, formerly of Cobleskill, died Wednesday at Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County at Cobleskill.
Born in Eastern Europe in a region that came to be known as Czechoslovakia, Mrs. Dahl came to this country in 1928 and lived most of her married life in Cobleskill. She resided at the Sharon Springs Manor Home for Adults for the past two years.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Dahl attended the Quaker Street Bible Church in Duanesburg.

Her husband, George A. Dahl, whom she married Oct. 18, 1937, died in 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Marie Suiter of Cobleskill; a son, John Dahl of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Suzanne and Ruzena Turcan, both of Czechoslovakia; two brothers, Michael and Paul Turcan, both of Czechoslovakia; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 68 Elm St.

There are no calling hours.

Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.

Michael Goitz
ALBANY - Michael E. Goitz, who worked for the Cargill Grain Co. in Albany for 42 years, died Wednesday at the Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Goitz, of Albany, was 83.
Mr. Goitz was born in Hastings-on-the-Hudson.

He retired from the Cargill Grain Co. in 1984.

Mr. Goitz was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy Carriero Goitz; three daughters, Paula Hemenway of Newport, N.C., Rosemarie Fusco of Colonie and Dorothy DeRuscio of Ballston Lake; two sisters, Helen Piazza of Albany and Frances Johns of Glenmont; a brother, Louis Goitz of Albany; and five grandchildren.

The services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the Dreis Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., and at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church, Exchange Street. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
