Robert Benham
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Robert C. Benham, 49, of Acacia Lane, formerly of Amsterdam, died Monday at home after being stricken.
Born in Amsterdam, Mr. Benham was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He resided in the West Palm Beach area for more than 25 years.

Mr. Benham was a long distance truck driver for many years and was a heavy equipment operator for various contractors in Florida at the time of his death.

He attended the Calvary Reformed Church, Hagaman.

Survivors include a daughter, Jessica L. Benham of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Sharon Kaminski of Amsterdam; two stepbrothers, William and Daniel Dmyszewicz, both of Broadalbin; a stepsister, Karen Meyers of Amsterdam; his grandmother, Zula Scott McGraw of Gaffney, S.C.; and his companion, Kim Henderson of West Palm Beach.

The services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, 1007 Route 5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

Rose Maraviglia
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Rose Maraviglia, 98, formerly of Webster Street, died Tuesday at the Glendale Home after a long illness.
Born in Italy, Mrs. Maraviglia was a longtime Schenectady resident.

She was a clerk at the former S.S. Kresge Co., the F.W. Woolworth Co. and the Carl Co.

Mrs. Maraviglia was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and its Women's Society.

Her husband, Frank Maraviglia, died in 1936.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Norris of Schenectady and Agnes Gaulin of Rochester; three sons, Raymond Maraviglia of Daytona Beach, Fla., Charles Maraviglia of Whitehall and Francis Maraviglia of Syracuse; two sisters, Mary Riggi of Schenectady and Josephine Jordan of Albany; two brothers, Fred Carao of Arizona and John Carao of Schenectady; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at noon Friday at the DeLegge Funeral Home, 1346 Chrisler Ave., followed at 12:30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Sallie Sher Kaplan
HIGHLANDS PARK, N.J. - Mrs. Sallie Sher Kaplan, 91, of Highlands Park, formerly of the B'nai B'rith Parkview Apartments in Albany, died Tuesday at the Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey.
Born in Russia, Mrs. Kaplan lived in Newburgh, N.Y., for most of her life. She also lived in Florida for several years.

Mrs. Kaplan was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a Girl Scout leader at one time.

She was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel while living in Newburgh.

Her husband, Morris Kaplan, died in 1993.

Survivors include three daughters, Adele Kaplan of Schenectady, Doris Silk of Hartford, Conn., and Lenore Leon of Highlands, N.J.; a brother, Jack Sher of Connecticut; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Temple Israel Cemetery, Western Avenue, Guilderland.

Arrangements are by the Levine Memorial Chapel, Albany.

Thomas Malik Jr.
JOHNSTOWN - Thomas Malik Jr., who was an Army veteran of World War II, died Tuesday at the Wells House Nursing Home. He was 87.
Born in Johnstown, Mr. Malik was a lifelong area resident who attended Johnstown schools.

Mr. Malik was a leather worker for several area leather companies before retiring. He was the widower of Sophie Malik.

Survivors include three stepchildren.

There are no services or calling hours.

Burial will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.

Memorial contributions may be made to charity.

Arrangements are by the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, Gloversville.

Willard Simons
BERNE - Willard "Bill" Simons, who was a millwright at various local foundries, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after being stricken. Mr. Simons, of Simons Road, was 66.
Born in Berne, Mr. Simons was a lifelong area resident. He attended Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School.

Mr. Simons worked most recently for Adirondack Steel and Allied Signal, retiring last year.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Eldred Simons; and two brothers, Jacob "Van" Simons of Berne and Charles C. Simons of Altamont.

The service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Knox Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.

William R. Halloran Sr.
TROY - William R. Halloran Sr., who worked for Huttig Building Supply in Selkirk, died Monday at the Westchester Medical Center in Westchester after being stricken. Mr. Halloran, of College Avenue, was 55.
Mr. Halloran was born in Cohoes. He served in the Marine Corps.

He was a former member of the Boght Community Fire Department.

His wife of 32 years, Bernice Gregware Halloran, died last year.

Survivors include a son, William R. Halloran Jr. of Troy; his parents, John Halloran Sr. and Doris Fontaine Halloran of Latham; and two brothers, Thomas and John Halloran Jr., both of Clifton Park.

The services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Friday at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., and at 9:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church.

Calling hours will be from 4 this afternoon until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Peter J. Brendese
MECHANICVILLE - Peter J. Brendese, who operated the Halfway House on routes 4 and 32 in Stillwater at one time, died Wednesday at St. Peter's Hospital. Mr. Brendese, of Washington Avenue, was 85.
Born in Troy, Mr. Brendese had lived in Mechanicville since 1948. He worked at the Ford Motor Co. in Green Island, retiring in 1981.

Mr. Brendese was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II.

Mr. Brendese was a member of Assumption-St. Paul Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mele Brendese; a daughter, Mary Rose Brendese of Nassau; a sister, Louise DeMarco of Mechanicville; and a brother, Charles J. Brendese Sr. of Mechanicville.

The services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford, and at 9:30 a.m. at Assumption-St. Paul Church, William Street. Calling hours will be from 5 this afternoon until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Entombment will be at St. Paul's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the John Ahearn Rescue Squad.

Mario `Mac' Ippoliti
SCOTIA - Mario James "Mac" Ippoliti, 77, of Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Scotia, died Nov. 8 at North Bay Medical Center in New Port Richey, Fla.
Born in Scotia, Mr. Ippoliti moved from Torrance, Calif., to Florida 12 years ago.

He was a retired machinist.

Mr. Ippoliti was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Lewis Ippoliti of Schenectady and Edward Ippoliti of Claremont, Calif.; and two sisters, Hilda Gibbons and Candida Bronevsky, both of Port Richey, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at St. Anthony's Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady.

Arrangements are by the National Cremation Society, New Port Richey, Fla.

Freda Miles
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Freda Miles, 88, of Barcelona Road, died Tuesday at the Renaissance Gardens Nursing Home in Springfield, Va., after being stricken.
Born in Austria, Mrs. Miles was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church and the Mohawk Golf Club, both in Schenectady.

Survivors include a son, William H. Schauer of Fairfax, Va.; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by the Everly Funeral Home.

Charlene T. Collins
STAMFORD, Conn. - Mrs. Charlene T. Collins, 49, of Stamford, died Wednesday at Stamford Hospital.
Mrs. Collins was born in Saugus, Mass.

She was a homemaker. She also worked for the General Electric Co. and for the city government in Lynn, Mass., at one time.

Survivors include her husband, James R. Collins Jr.; her parents, Richard J. and Eleanor Murphy of Lynn, Mass.; three sisters, Maureen Foster of Lynn, Mass., Kathleen Malm of Danvers, Mass., and Colleen D'Amora of Portland, Conn.; and a brother, Kevin Murphy of Reading, Mass.

The services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Church, Scofield Town Road. Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St.

Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, N.Y., on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
