Bessie Richter
GLOVERSVILLE - Mrs. Bessie Richter, 95, formerly of West Fulton Street, died Tuesday at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility after a long illness.
Mrs. Richter was born in Broadalbin.

She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Johnstown.

Mrs. Richter worked for Fulton County Silk Mills until retiring.

Her husband, Ervin Richter, whom she married July 2, 1948, died in 1975.

Survivors include two sisters, Louise Robbins of Gloversville and Isabel Wolfgram of Niantic, Conn.; and a brother, George Fraker of Gloversville.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown.

A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to charity.

Bernard E. Martin
BALLSTON SPA - Private services will be held for Bernard E. Martin, who was a coil winder at the General Electric Co. for 40 years until retiring. Mr. Martin, 70, of Jean Street, died Tuesday at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness.
Born in North Adams, Mass., Mr. Martin was a lifelong area resident.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Rutkowski Martin; a daughter, Liane Itterman of Spencer, Mass.; three sons, Daniel Martin of Rotterdam, David Martin of North Syracuse and Brian Martin of Gansevoort; three brothers, Edward Martin of Scotia, Norman Martin of Rotterdam and Leon Martin of Ohio; two sisters, Sylvia Brooks of North Dakota and Marion Watson of Vernon, Vt.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by the Wheeler Funeral Home.

Joseph O'Rourke, ran lab, was active in civic affairs
SCOTIA - Joseph E. O'Rourke, 78, of Knickerbocker Road, died Wednesday at home after a long illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mr. O'Rourke was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1941 graduate of the former Mont Pleasant High School. He was a graduate of Siena College and the General Electric apprentice course.

Mr. O'Rourke was director of the Engineering Machine Laboratory at Union College before retiring in 1993. He had previously been employed for 12 years at Machine Tool Sales and Services. He also owned and operated O'Rourke's Riverside Inn in Wells.

He was a member and former president of the Scotia Kiwanis and a 50-year member of Council 201, Knights of Columbus, in Schenectady. He was a fourth-degree member of the organization.

Mr. O'Rourke was a life member of the GE Apprentice Alumni Association and past commander of the Lake George Power Squadron, USPS.

He was a member of the Scotia Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of the Ballston Lake Volunteer Fire Department. He served for 12 years with the Schenectady County Sheriff's Department.

Mr. O'Rourke was a former member of the Chapter 20 Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He was a charter member of Condair Flyers.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.

His wife of 35 years, Theresa Ouellette O'Rourke, died in 1986.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Robinson O'Rourke; three sons, Patrick Robinson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Robinson of Scotia and Sean Robinson of Rotterdam; two daughters, Catherine Kondratowicz of Rotterdam and Angela Pitt of Schenectady; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., and at 9 at St. Joseph's Church, First Street, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Saratoga Springs.

Ronald W. Lybrand
LONGWOOD, Fla. - Ronald W. Lybrand, 55, of Longwood, died Nov. 4 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Va., after a short illness.
Mr. Lybrand was born in Albany.

He was a master chief in the Navy before retiring in 1997 with 30 years of service. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6386 in Ingleside, Texas; American Legion Post 363 in Rockport, Texas; and the Fleet Reserve Association.

Mr. Lybrand was also a member of the Moose Lodge 2063 of Aransas Pass, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Natarella Lybrand; a daughter, Stacey Ann Kochan of Schenectady; a son, Eric Michael Lybrand of Schenectady; two brothers, Douglas and Clifford Zusy, both of Rensselaer; and a sister, Erin Woodcock of Cambridge.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1895, Draper Ave., Schenectady.

Arrangements are by the Found and Sons Funeral Home, Fredericksburg, Va.

Robert Van- Ravenswaay
VOORHEESVILLE - Private services will be held for Robert VanRavenswaay, 77, of Maple Road, who died Thursday at the Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital in Albany after a long illness.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. VanRavenswaay was a sheet metal worker through Sheetmetal Workers Local 83, retiring in 1989. He was a past master of Berne Lodge 684, Free and Accepted Masons in 1976. Mr. VanRavenswaay was a member of the Voorheesville American Legion Post 1493 and the Voorheesville Rod and Gun Club. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Delmar and the Disabled American Veterans.

His wife, Betty Lou VanRavenswaay, died in 1986.

Survivors include four daughters, Ellen Scoons of Slingerlands, Virginia Rickert of Menands, and Karen Magrum and Linda VanRavenswaay, both of Voorheesville; a son, Robert VanRavenswaay Jr. of Berne; two brothers, Frank VanRavenswaay of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Ernie VanRavenswaay of Mesquite, Texas; a sister, Marie Stehower of Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Voorheesville Ambulance, 21 Voorheesville Ave., Voorheesville, NY 12186.

Paul Bolton
CRARYVILLE - Paul Francis Bolton, 80, of Route 23, formerly of Schenectady, died Wednesday at the Timberlyn Heights Nursing Home in Great Barrington, Mass.
Born in Smith Falls, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Bolton lived in Schenectady at one time. He resided in Craryville for the past 13 years.

He was a printer for what is now The Daily Gazette and also for the Albany Times Union.

Mr. Bolton was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a life member of American Legion Post 1005 in Schenectady, serving multiple terms as post commander. He also served the legion on the county level. He was a life member of the Schenectady Voiture 759, 40 & 8. Mr. Bolton was a member of the Cadby-Shutts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7552 in Hillsdale, Columbia County.

He was a member of the former St. Columba's Roman Catholic Church in Schenectady.

His wife, Pauline Thompson Bolton, died in 1993.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith E. Hoffa of Craryville; a son, Richard D. Bolton of Henderson, Nev.; three sisters, Monica Churchill of Southbridge, Mass., Dorothy Pudvah and Joanna Whitney, both of Meriden, Conn.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, Copake Falls. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22, Copake.

Burial will be in St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Copake Falls.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene, 47 Liberty St., Catskill, NY 12414.

Marietta McBride
BALLSTON SPA - Mrs. Marietta Baldwin McBride, 66, of Brookline Road, died Thursday at home.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. McBride moved to Ballston Spa in 1990.

She worked for the Montgomery Ward store in Schenectady and later in Saratoga Springs for 16 years, retiring in 1994.

Mrs. McBride was a volunteer at Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady. She also taught cake decorating techniques.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Harold McBride; seven sons, Harold McBride Jr. of Watervliet, Wade, Michael, Albert and Stephen McBride, all of Schenectady, Clayton McBride of Rotterdam and Leon McBride of Pattersonville; five daughters, Colleen Miller and BetteSue Sanchez, both of Schenectady, Peggy Stables of Ballston Spa, Melody Prusky of Scotia and Kitty Bidwell of Rotterdam; two brothers, Jack Baldwin of Syracuse and Lee Baldwin of California; two sisters, Jean Runnels of Oregon and Alice Gray of Schenectady; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Armer Funeral Home, 39 E. High St. Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, town of Saratoga.

Leland E. Hilton Sr.
TROY - Leland E. Hilton Sr., 76, of Second Avenue, died at home Thursday.
Mr. Hilton was born in Sharon Springs. He was raised and educated in Albany.

He was employed as a milk deliveryman for several area dairies for 40 years, retiring in 1987.

Mr. Hilton was a Navy veteran of World War II. He received the European Theater Medal with one star and the American and Asiatic Pacific Victory medals.

Survivors include two sons, David E. Hilton of Waterford and Leland E. Hilton Jr. of Clifton Park; a daughter, Linda A. Trombley of Poestenkill; two stepdaughters, Regina M. Schuhl of Scotia and Debra A. Weiss of Long Island; three stepsons, Kevin T. Gallagher of Troy, E. Douglas Hermans of Ballston Spa and Glenn E. Hermans of Los Angeles; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Slate Hill Cemetery in Sharon Springs.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.

Arrangements are by the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home in Waterford.

Joseph C. Pisani
ALBANY - Joseph C. Pisani, 75, of Bleecker Terrace Apartments, died Wednesday at Albany Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Albany, Mr. Pisani was a lifelong city resident.

He was a meat cutter for Levonian Meat Packing in Albany for 40 years.

Mr. Pisani was a communicant of St. James Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are by the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, Rensselaer.
