Larry Jachlewski
ROTTERDAM - Larry Jachlewski, who worked for Metro Ford for 23 years, died Wednesday at home. Mr. Jachlewski, of Giffords Church Road, was 45.
Born in Schenectady, Mr. Jachlewski was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Bishop Gibbons-Notre Dame High School and Schenectady County Community College.

He was the parts manager for Metro Ford at the time of his death.

Mr. Jachlewski was also a licensed pilot.

He was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Church.

Survivors include his wife of two years, Rae M. Jachlewski; two stepdaughters, Shannon Crisafulli and Betsy Cornell, both of Albany; a brother, Steven Jachlewski of Rotterdam; and a step-granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Princetown Road. Calling hours will be from 5 this afternoon until 7 tonight at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Turnpike, Guilderland.

Burial will be in Schenectady Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Cancer Program at Albany Medical Center, Mail Code 24, Room A606-Pediatrics, 47 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.

June Robinson
WESTFORD - Mrs. June D. Robinson, 60, of Westford, died Tuesday at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Hollowville. She was raised in Cooperstown and graduated from Cooperstown Central School in 1959.

Mrs. Robinson was a former underwriter at an insurance company in Utica. She worked for Matthew Bender and Co. in Menands from 1970 to 1993.

Mrs. Robinson joined the staff of the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta in 1994 as a cashier and later became a billing representative.

Her husband, Arthur C. "Robbie" Robinson, whom she married May 22, 1974, died in 1989.

Survivors include her companion, Jack Kirkpatrick; her mother, June Dieterle of Schenectady; two sisters, Holly Griffith of Albany and Catherine Snyder of Stuart, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Dieterle of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Lester F. Dieterle of Ballston Spa.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home, 82 Chestnut St., Cooperstown. Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Westville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna SPCA, 4841 Route 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326; or the charity of choice.

John `Ben' Austin
NISKAYUNA - John "Ben" Austin, who was manager of projects for the real estate and construction division of the General Electric Co. for 32 years, died Wednesday at the Glendale Nursing Home in Glenville after a short illness. Mr. Austin, of Rowe Road, was 87.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Austin was a graduate of Dennison University. He had lived in the local area for the past 53 years.

Mr. Austin retired from GE in 1982. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club.

Mr. Austin was a member of the Mohawk Golf Club.

He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Stansbury Austin, whom he married in 1942; two sons, Douglas G. Austin of Kingwood, Texas, and J. Leslie Austin of Niskayuna; a daughter, Sandra J. Austin of Albany; and two grandchildren.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 3 Winners Circle, Suite 300, Albany, NY 12205.

Helen Kalinowski
SCHENECTADY - Private services will be held for Mrs. Helen Malon Kalinowski, 81, of the Hallmark Nursing Center, who died Wednesday at the home after a long illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Kalinowski was a lifelong area resident.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Ignatius Kalinowski, whom she married in 1938, died in 1973.

Survivors include a son, Robert Kalinowski of Schenectady; a daughter, Caroline Sherman of Worcester; three sisters, Jennie Hache of Schenectady, Adala Ralbovsky of Rotterdam and Regina Chrvala of Schenectady; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

There are no calling hours.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.

Arrangements are by the Leszczynski Funeral Home.

Ferdinando Cianfarani
SCHENECTADY - Ferdinando Cianfarani, 82, of 12th Street, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital.
Mr. Cianfarani was born in Sora, Province of Frosinone, Italy, and came to this country in 1962.

He was a laborer at Standard Stone in Rotterdam for many years. He subsequently worked at Fabrino Construction for several years before retiring.

Mr. Cianfarani was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

His wife, Luigia Cianfarani, died in 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Pasquale Cianfarani of Rotterdam and Italo and Bruno Cianfarani, both of Schenectady; two daughters, Antonina Antonini and Mirella Pezzuto, both of Rotterdam; two sisters, Antonietta Tersigni of Canada and Restituta Urbano of Italy; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday at 8:15 a.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, and at 9 at Immaculate Conception Church, Bradt Street, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Entombment will be at Memory's Garden, Briarwood Mausoleum.

Evelyn N. Smith
CLIFTON PARK - Private services will be held for Mrs. Evelyn N. Smith, 88, of the Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home, who died Tuesday at the home.
Born in Benton Harbor, Mich., Mrs. Smith had lived in Clifton Park for the past year.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Smith was the widow of Orville E. Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald B. Smith of Colchester, Conn., and Richard T. Smith of Venice, Calif.; two daughters, Janice Cook of Ballston Lake and Dana Sage of Greene; a sister, Darlene Vickery of Delton, Mich.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4 North Crest Drive, Clifton Park.

Arrangements are by the Catricala Funeral Home.

Alfred Cohen
TROY - Private services will be held for Alfred C. Cohen, who was the proprietor of the Union Liquor Store in Schenectady for more than 30 years. Mr. Cohen, 83, of Woodrow Court, died Tuesday at home.
Born in Weehawken, N.J., Mr. Cohen lived most of his life in Troy.

Mr. Cohen was the widower of Irene Rome Cohen.

Survivors include a son, Lee Cohen of Troy; a daughter, Barrye Cohen of Albany; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to charity.

Arrangements are by the Levine Memorial Chapel, Albany.

Clarence P. Van Allen
GLOVERSVILLE - Clarence P. Van Allen, 96, formerly of Kingsboro Tower Apartments, died Wednesday at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility after a long illness.
Born in Bleecker, Mr. Van Allen was educated in West Bush Schools.

For 20 years, he was a leather worker for the former G. Levor Leather Co. Mr. Van Allen also worked for the former Bleyl Leather Co. and most recently for the Wood & Hyde Leather Co., retiring from there in 1972.

After retiring, he was a security guard at the former Coleco Industries in Mayfield.

Mr. Van Allen was a member of the Mayfield Senior Citizens.

His wife, Edna Lawyer Van Allen, whom he married June 19, 1926, died in 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Clarence P. Van Allen Jr. of Mayfield and Donald Van Allen of Stratford; two daughters, Edith Reeves of Mayfield and Julia Hayes of Gloversville; a brother, Wesley Van Allen of New York City; a sister, Lela Van Buren of Gloversville; 36 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 147 Bleecker St.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, NY 12078.

Helene Magin
COHOES - Mrs. Helene Maria Magin, who worked at Marra's Pharmacy, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after being stricken. Mrs. Magin, of Vliet Street, was 54.
Born in Troy, Mrs. Magin lived most of her life in Cohoes.

She had worked at the former Denby's and at Cohoes Savings Bank.

Mrs. Magin was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church.

She was a longtime member of Funsters bowling league in Troy and the Fineline Mixed League in Latham.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Joseph Magin; three sons, Michael and Jonathan Magin, both of Waterford, and Matthew Magin of Cohoes; two daughters, Jeanine Hamlin of Waterford and Rebecca Sawyer of Troy; her mother, Alice Hayden Serfilippi of Cohoes; four brothers, William Serfilippi of Cohoes, Santino Serfilippi of Schenectady, Gerard Serfilippi of Florida and Dr. Geoffrey Serfilippi of Delmar; three sisters, Christine Marcil and Tari Serfilippi, both of Cohoes, and Aprille Cotrona of Watervliet; and six grandchildren.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Marra Funeral Home, corner of Remsen and Columbia streets, followed at 9:30 at St. Bernard's Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
