Adelard Belanger
Amsterdam -- Adelard “Ed” Belanger, 83, of DeStefano Street, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born in Worcester, MA, on July 29, 1919, a son of George and Nellie Hedge Belanger, he worked for Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co., until moving to New Jersey in 1955. Mr. Belanger was employed by the SONY Corp. in Moonackie, NJ before retiring in 1981. He returned to Amsterdam in 1984. During World War II, he served with the U. S. Navy. He was a communicant of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church.

On August 3, 1940, he was united in marriage to the former Helen Kazala. In addition to his beloved wife, his loving family includes his sons, David and his wife, Pam Belanger of Marietta, GA, and Timothy and his wife, Linda Belanger, of Boca Raton, FL; a sister, Gertrude Persico of Amsterdam, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church, Fr. Stanley J. Swierzowski, celebrant. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment is in St. Casmir's Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in Ed's memory to St. Casimir's Memorial Fund, 260 East Main Street, Amsterdam, 12010.

Dorothy Oldendorf Brown
Duanesburg -- Dorothy Oldendorf Brown, 86, of Duanesburg Road passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born in Schenectady, Dorothy lived in Duanesburg for the past 63 years. She was a graduate of Draper High School, a former member of the Duanesburg Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary, and a former member of the Duanesburg Central School PTA.

Her late husband, John W. Brown, Sr., died July 24, 1973.

Dorothy is survived by her son John “Jack” Brown, Jr., and his wife, Marsha of Quaker Street; her daughter, Barbara A. Patterson and her husband, John R. of Salem, SC; her granddaughter, Doreen Baker of Syracuse; her grandson, John Scott Patterson of Seneca, SC; her great-grandchildren, Alex and Ben Baker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her sister, Florence Karlan, and her brother, Arthur Oldendorf and William Oldendorf.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.

Interment will be in Viewland Cemetery, Rotterdam.

Emma Cary
Knox -- Emma Cary, 95, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, following a brief illness.
Emma was the daughter of the late Manley and Florence Cary and the sister of the late Charles H. Cary and Hazel

Caprood.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Rock Road Chapel, Berne, NY. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Burial will be in New Scotland Cemetery.

Those who wish may make contributions to Rock Road Chapel, 96 Rock Road, Berne, NY 12023.

Rosemary (Rosie) Cottrell
Scotia -- A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at St. Joseph's Church, First Street, Scotia, NY, for Rosemary (Rosie) Cottrell, who passed away on March 29, 2003.

Geraldine A. DuPont
Schenectady -- Geraldine A. DuPont, 71, of Willow Creek Avenue, died at home on Sunday, June 1, 2003, after a short illness.
Geraldine was born on November 23, 1931, in Schenectady to the late Frederick Astle and Mae Croote. She graduated from Bolton Landing High School and she lived most of her life in Schenectady. She was a computer operator for the New York State Dept. of Tax and Finance for 26 years, before retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Carmen Road Alliance Church and Electric City Clown Alley as “Aunt Figedity” (clown).

She was married February 9, 1952 to Richard James DuPont who died in 1998.

Mrs. DuPont is survived by two sons, Lawrence J. DuPont, and his wife, Peggy of Schenectady, Stephen R. DuPont of Watervliet; three daughters, Kathryn Monty and her husband, William of Schenectady, Debra LeBlanc of Rotterdam and Lorraine DuPont of Schenectady; two brothers, Richard Astle of NC, John Croote of Scotia; 22 grandchildren, nine great–grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, John A DuPont; a brother, Edward Astle and her sister, Joan Revette.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. at Light's Funeral Home, 1428 State Street. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service for calling hours.

Interment will be in Park View Cemetery.

If desired, contributions may be made in her name to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308

Marian George Giles
Scotia -- Marian George Giles, 75, of Scotia, died May 27th, 2003, at Albany Medical Center, after a long struggle with idiopathic liver disease.
Born in Richmond, VA and raised in the Methodist Children's Home, Mrs. Giles was one of three children born to Sherman Guy George and Lucille Harris George. Mrs. Giles spent most of her married life in Schenectady as a homemaker, part–time secretary and nurse.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Ball Giles; a son, Edward William Giles of Albany; a daughter, Kathryn Giles Bohacek and granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Bohacek, both of Clifton Park and a brother, Merrill Glenn of FL.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, Lake Hill Road, Burnt Hills, on June 4, 2003 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Children's Home of Florida, 51 Main St., Enterprise, FL 32725–8718.

Eva Ginsburgh
Albany -- Eva Ginsburgh, 90, of the Albany County Nursing Home, died Sunday evening, June 1, 2003.
Born in New York City, Eva moved to Albany as a child. She was a graduate of Albany Business College and worked as a bookkeeper until she married.

Eva was married to Harry Ginsburgh for more than 50 years until his passing in 1987.

She is survived by her sons, William Ginsburgh of Colonie and Robert Ginsburgh of Mountainview, CA; her daughters, Bernice Roth of New York City and Ceceil Allison of Live Oaks, CA; a sister, Edna Karp of Albany; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Dorothy Meckler, and Bertha Ginsberg of Florida.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Free Jewish Cemetery, Schermerhorn Street, Rotterdam, NY. The period of mourning will be observed Wednesday evening through Thursday noon at the home of William Ginsburgh, Colonie, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Ohav Sholom, New Krumkill Road, Albany, NY 12208.

Alice M. Jacobs Henges
Schenectady -- Alice M. Jacobs Henges, 65, of Turner Avenue, passed away suddenly at her residence on Saturday, May 31, 2003. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at Light's Funeral Home, 1428 State Street, Schenectady, at 12 p.m. Calling hours on Wednesday from 10 to 12 prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Park View Cemetery.

Mary A. Kenworthy
Clifton Park -- Mary A. Kenworthy, 71, of Clifton Park, died June 2, 2003 at the Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born on October 31, 1931, in Tomahawk, WI, she was the daughter of the late Archie T. and Mary C. Shea Conant. She was a resident of Clifton Park for the past 25 years.

Mary was a 1st lieutenant in the U.S. Army as an RN in France from 1954 to 1956. She was employed as a registered nurse at Ellis and St. Clare's Hospitals in the 1950's and in Annapolis, MD in the 1970's.

She was a member of St. Edward's the Confessor Church in Clifton Park, a founding member of Provide at St. Edward's Church, Captain of Clifton Park, Shenendehowa Senior Citizens, American Legion Post 1450 Clifton Park, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Tomahawk, WI, and a volunteer career counselor at Shenendehowa High School from 1979 to 1982. She was active in numerous organizations.

She was the wife of the late John H. Kenworthy, who died in 1989.

Survivors include three sons, Paul and Katherine (Roddy) Kenworthy of Amsterdam, Mark and Carolyn Kenworthy of Arnold, MD, and Robert and Cheryl Kenworthy of Clifton Park; one daughter, Margaret and Cynthia of Clifton Park; two sisters–in–law, Eileen Conant of Tomahawk, WI, and Anne Conant of Falls Church, VA; four grandchildren, Christopher, John II, Neil and Ross; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday at 9 a.m., at St. Edward's the Confessor Church in Clifton Park. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m., in the Catricala Funeral Home, Inc., 1597 Rt. 9 Clifton Park.

Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Provide at St. Edward's Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Arrangements are by the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route Nine Clifton Park, NY.

Frederick J. Kluth
Charlton -- Frederick J. Kluth, 62, of Maplewood Dr., died, Friday, May 30, 2003. Viewing hours this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville. Cremation will be held privately at the request of the family. A memorial service and celebration of Fritz' life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 153 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, at a time to be announced.

Frances M. Grott Neubrech Koerner
Clifton Park -- Frances M. Grott Neubrech Koerner (Schulte), 89, of Tallow Wood Drive, died on Saturday May 31, 2003 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a brief illness.
She was born on November 21, 1913 in the Bronx and was the daughter of the late Frank and Amelia H. Nohrenberg Grott. She was a graduate of Mineola High School and Brown's Business School. She had been a housewife and homemaker.

Mrs. Joerner was a member of the Shenendehowa Senior Citizens, the National AARP and also the local chapter #3941. She was a member of the Woodstock Garden Club. She was a former member and past president of the PTA in public school #97 in Woodhaven, NY, a past member of the Woodstock Senior Citizens, the AARP in Kingston, NY and Boynton Beach, FL. She had been a member of the Royal Palm Republican Women's Club and the Christian Womens Assoc., both in Boynton Beach.

She was the wife of the late Howard J. Neubrech, John E. Koerner and Luebbert Schulte.

She is survived by her beloved and much devoted son, Howard R. Koerner and his wife, Lynn of Clifton Park. She is the cherished grandmother of Eric (Sherry) Koerner of Lexington, SC, Tracy (Matthew) Murphy of Malta and Susan Koerner of Mechanicville; great grandmother of Kyle Murphy of Malta. She is the sister of Dorothy A. Haffer of Apache Junction, AZ and Anita P. Henn of Port Washington, LI, NY. She is also survived by a stepson, William Schulte and two step–grandsons, William and Steven Schulte. She is the aunt of Anton Haffer, Gail Harper, Jacqueline DeChance, Elizabeth, Martha and William Berning.

She was predeceased by her two sisters, Lillian A. Norton and Edna E. Moore.

Funeral will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park. Calling hours will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead, LI.

Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Robert M. Lent
Rotterdam -- Robert M. Lent 81, of Mariaville Rd., died peacefully at home on Sunday, June 1, 2003 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Plainfield, NJ and moved to Duanesburg in his early teen years, there he attended Duanesburg High School and worked on the family dairy farm. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and upon returning home, he started his own construction company in 1948. In 1977, Robert was joined by his son, Ron, at Robert M. Lent and Son Excavating, Inc. Bob had been a resident and successful community businessman for 55 years. Throughout his career, Bob was successful in land development projects throughout the Capital District. He also owned and managed apartments on Lent Court in Rotterdam.

Bob was a dedicated father whose love, guidance, devotion, and inspiration enriched the life of his children beyond measure. Of all Bob's accomplishments, his greatest legacy is the unwavering love he gave his family which will be cherished all the days of their lives. His children and grandchildren are blessed and honored to know him as dad and “popsy.”

Robert was predeceased in 1983 by his daughter, Robin A. Lent.

He is survived by his wife, Arleen Bradt Lent, and his five children, Ronald M. Lent, Barbara Lent Ormin, Deborah J. Abbatiello and her husband, Richard, and Darlene L. Dolan, and her husband, James, all of Rotterdam, and Kimberley J. Shelmerdine and her husband, Edward of Latham; ten grandchildren, Julie, Jamie, Jennelle, Amanda, Kristy, Bobby, Brendan, Jacob, Ian, and Breityn. Robert was the brother of George R. Lent of Duanesburg, Virginia M. Munker of Odenton, MD, and the late Arthur R. Lent.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning 11 a.m. at the Princetown Evangelical Presbyterian Church Duanesburg, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Ave., Schenectady on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.

Contributions may be made in Bob's memory to Community Hospice, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12309 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osbourne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211.

Interment will be in Schenectrady Memorial Park.

Bob's faith in God, integrity, optimism, and sense of humor will remain in the hearts of the many lives he touched forever.

Rev. Wilbert McDonald
Menands -- Rev. Wilbert McDonald, 65, of Menands passed away Thursday May 29, 2003 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Wednesday evening, June 4, commencing at 7 p.m. Viewing will take place prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be Thursday morning 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park.
