Theodore G. Hoke, 72, of 431 Wilkinson St., Syracuse, died Thursday. Born in Cooperstown, he lived in Syracuse for many years. He was a retired handyman. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mary Ellen Mulroy Houlihan, 61, of Reno, Nev., died Thursday. Born in Pottsville, Pa., she lived most of her life in Syracuse before moving to Reno in 1998. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School and Crouse-Irving Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and head operating room nurse at Crouse Hospital. She was a member of the Alumni Association of Crouse-Irving Hospital School of Nursing. Survivors: Her husband, Thomas M.; two daughters, Kathy Angula of Mazatian, Mexico, and Kerry Houlihan of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Patrick of Reno; four sisters, Rose Marie Devine and Anne Perkins, both of Fairmount, Patricia Mulroy of Middletown, Conn., and Kathy Hauf of Pasadena, Md.; a brother, William of Camillus; four grandchildren. Jean M. Raymond Irwin, 72, of 303 George Road, Mexico, died Monday. She was born in New Haven. She was a homemaker and a volunteer with McFee Ambulance Corps, Mexico. Arthur S. "Sam" Kellum, 71, of 5555 Main St., Durhamville, died Sunday of lung cancer. He was born in Lenox. He retired in 1996 after six years as an equipment operator for the town of Verona. He also had worked for several local construction companies and was a member of the Order of Owls, Oneida Nest 1606. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His companion of 18 years, Shirley Richmond; three daughters, Karen Clemons of Marietta, Linda Spencer of Palatine Bridge and Kristina Kellum of New Hartford; a son, Russell of Morrisville; two sisters, Ann Berry of Pratts Hollow and Sylvia Dellas of California; a brother, Robert of Durhamville; six grandchildren. Dr. Robert W. O'Brien, 77, of Bridge Road, Canastota, died Monday. Born in Constableville, he lived in Oneida for more than 40 years. He graduated from West Leyden High School, Cornell University and the School of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell. He retired in 1998 after 46 years as a veterinarian and founder of Oneida Animal Hospital in 1952. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Oneida, and the Knights of Columbus E. Bart Hanifin Council 473. He was a member of the New York State Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Association. He was an Army veteran. Survivors: His wife of 48 years, the former Joanne Downes; a daughter, Kathryn M. O'Brien of Canastota; two sons, Timothy P. of Columbia, Md., and Thomas W. of Chicago; a brother, Thomas of Constableville; two grandchildren. He was a former communicant of St. Ann's Church, Manlius, and a member of American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. His daughter, Susan A.
