ESPOSITO, ARTHUR J. - Arthur J. Esposito, a lifelong White Plains resident, died Monday, February 5, 2001. He was born April 29, 1927 in White Plains to Frank and Nancy Esposito. Arthur served in the United States Navy. He worked for Sears Roebuck & Company for 35 years in White Plains as a manager and salesman, he retired in 1987. He is survived by two sons, Frank P. Esposito of Washington, DC and William A. Esposito of Coral Springs, FL; his wife Patricia and her daughters, Pattie, and Wendy Accurso and Dawn Lombardo and two grandchildren Jessica L. and William Daniel Esposito. Visiting hours will be Friday 5-9 pm at MCMAHON, LYON & HARTNETT FUNERAL HOME, INC, where services will be held Saturday morning. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

FALKENSTEIN, RUTH - Ruth Falkenstein, formerly of Rye Brook, died Wednesday, February 7, 2001. She was 86. She was predeceased by her husband, Hans. She was a member of Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel of Port Chester. She is survived by a son, Stanley Falkenstein and his wife, Lois and two grandchildren, Kara and David, of Manchester, CT. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 am at Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel, 575 King Street, Port Chester. Contributions may be made to Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel.

FERREBEE, JEROME LENNIE - Jerome Lennie Ferrebee, a resident of White Plains, NY died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 at the age of 43. Jerome is survived by his beloved wife Maeola Ferrebee and his devoted children Lennisha, Lennie, Keisha, and Lajuan Swinney. He is predeceased by one son Jerome L. Ferrebee, Jr. He is also survived by his brother (lucky) Ferrebee, his sister Gloria Ferrebee, and three grandchildren, Ke‘Vonn, Cheyanne, and Kaela. FRALEIGH, GENE W. - Gene W. Fraleigh, Sr., a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Monday, February 5, 2001 at his home. He was 75 years old. A US Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Fraleigh was actively involved in veterans associations in the City of Yonkers where he served as Past Commander of the American Legion Chippewa Post 1412 and of the VFW Lowerre Post 3083. He also served as chairman of the Central Committee of War Veterans in Yonkers. He was predeceased in 1999 by his dear wife, Doris T. Woods Fraleigh. He was the dear father of Gene W. Fraleigh, Jr. and his wife, Mary Beth and Karen Carretta and her husband, Anthony. Dear grandfather of Elise and Amber. GARBER, MARY ELLEN - Mary Ellen Garber of Croton Falls, died on February 5 at the age of 56. She was born in New York City on May 2, 1944 to Bernard and Dorothy Cavanaugh Garber. She attended Saint Mary‘s School in Katonah and is a graduate of Fox Lane High School, Class of ‘62. She went on to earn an LPN and was currently employed by Wachenhut. She is survived by her brothers, J. Brady and B. Michael of White Plains, Clinton D. of Somers and Gregory F. of Newtown, PA, two nephews, Colby and Jeremy and a niece Tiffany. HARRELL, ELEANOR - Eleanor Harrell, 77, a 42 year resident of Somers, NY, died at Northern Westchester Hospital on February 7, 2001. Eleanor was a registered nurse. KAUFMAN, LILLY - Lilly Kaufman, a resident of Scarsdale, NY, and a longtime resident of New York City, died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at the age of 95. Lilly was born in Furth, Bavaria on January 7, 1906. She came to the United States in 1938 with her husband, Simon Kaufman. They were married March 1927. Her husband predeceased her. During her early years, Lilly worked as a bookkeeper in her father‘s toy company. She is survived by three grandchildren, Emily Kaufman Clary of Tarrytown, NY, Peter Kaufman of State College, PA, and Jean Kaufman Cruz of Westfield, NJ and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Arnold Kaufman, who died in 1990. LEE, RANDY Y. - Randy Y. Lee died suddenly at home on February 5, 2001. The beloved husband of Regina, adoring father of Tyler, Aimee, David, and Allison, proud son of Gat Din Lee and Yuke Ngor Wong Lee. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Cookie (Michael) Yang, Jean Lee, Betty (Richard) Yee, and Yee (Alan) Rausch. He was predeceased by his mother, Yuke Ngor Wong Lee. He was a graduate of Pleasantville High School in 1970 and Qunnipiac College in 1974. Randy was a longtime Pleasantville resident. He was an avid fan of the New York Rangers, the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. His musical taste ran from Rock-n-Roll (The Grateful Dead, Country Joe and the Fish, Led Zeppelin) to Sousa Marches. For many years, he was an Assistant Vice President at the Chase Manhattan Bank. He balanced family, community, and work with equal dedication. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him. LESSNER, MARGARET T. - Mrs. Margaret T. Lessner, a resident of Thorpe Village for the last 20 years, died on February 6, 2001 at the age of 89. She was born on November 12, 1911 in New York City to Theodore and Nelly Whitterman Schmidt. Mrs. Lessner was a resident of the Bronx before moving to Sparkill. She was an operator for the New York Telephone Co. in Manhattan. Mrs. Lessner was predeceased by her husband, Herman, who died in 1968. She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Shannon and Gabriella Kelly; three grandsons; a niece and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, Roy Schmidt. NORCIA, JOSEPH - Joseph Norcia, 85, of Irvington, died February 5, 2001. He was born in Italy to George and Concetta Orlando Norcia. He moved to the United States at a young age. The family settled in Irvington. Mr. Norcia worked as a records coordinator in the engineering department of Stauffer Chemical Co., retiring in 1982. Survivors include two brothers, Charles of Irvington and Michael of Long Island, three nephews, Michael Norcia, Jr, John Norcia and Joseph Tulis. Joseph was predeceased by one sister, Jeanette Tulis. PALMERA, LUCIA (IAPAOLO) - Lucia Palmera of Briarcliff Manor died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at the age of 92. Lucia was born in Newark, NJ and lived most of her life in Jersey City where she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur in 1965. She later lived in Dobbs Ferry where she was a member of the Women‘s Club and in Briarcliff Manor for the past 20 years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joan and Frederick Giordano of Dobbs Ferry and her beloved grandsons, Mark of Albany, CA and Neil of New York City. PANKEN, ANNETTE E. M. - Annette E.M. Panken, died on February 6, 2001 at the Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY. She is survived by her children, Marc Evan Panken (Carole Rita Simonetti), Elizabeth Muriel Panken (Bruce Appelbaum), her brother, Franklyn Bauer Mellion, and her five grandchildren, Evan James Panken, Sarah Eve Appelbaum, Daniel John Panken, Andrew Joel Panken, and Rachel Hanna Appelbaum. Mrs. Panken was a graduate of The Julliard School where she received both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education. She later received her Doctorate Degree, going on to teach for 23 years in the South Orangetown School District. Amongst her accomplishments, Annette composed and wrote vignettes for Educational purposes. She was also part of one of the Founding Families of Temple Beth-El and she was actively involved in the temple for 53 years. Annette belonged to many Civic Associations and Activities including the Metropolitan Opera Association, Delta Kopa Gamma, Nanuet Civic Association, Julliard Alumni Association, and the Retired Teachers Association of Rockland County. She was a Volunteer in the Office of the Rockland County Clerk and the Former Trustee of Rockland Opera Company. The Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2001 at 10 am at the Temple Beth-El Synagogue, 415 Viola Road, Spring Valley, NY. POLLACK, LARRY - Larry Pollack, of Melbourne, FL, passed away February 6, 2001. He was 64 years old. Mr. Pollack was a resident of Blauvelt, NY before moving to Florida. Mr. Pollack was born in Brooklyn to Paul and Rose Pollack. He was married to his late wife Teresia Frank January 4, 1964. Mr. Pollack is survived by his loving family. RALPH, ROSE M. - Rose M. Ralph of Yorktown Heights, formerly of White Plains died on Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY. She was 84. Mrs. Ralph worked in Receiving/Sales for Alexander‘s in White Plains and then in Cortlandt Manor. She was with the company for 30 years before retiring in 1983. Mrs. Ralph was born on September 3, 1916 in White Plains to Emidio and Maime Ascani. On April 20, 1941 she married James Ralph at St. John‘s Church in White Plains, NY. Mrs. Ralph lived in Yorktown for the past 28 years. Before that, she lived in White Plains, NY from 1916 to 1972. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Parker and her husband, George of Yorktown, son, Arthur Ralph and his wife, Rosemary of Yorktown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Family members who died earlier include her husband, James Ralph who died in May, 1972. Calling hours are Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights.
