Gladys L. Dyrbal Babiarz, 84, formerly of 16 Clymer St., Auburn, died Wednesday at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Buffalo. She was a nurse at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Batavia. She worked as an inspector at General Electric of Auburn. Her husband, Emil, died in April. Survivors: Two sisters, Helen Van Buren of Florida and Theresa Bevington of Indiana; four brothers, Joseph, Adam and Frank Dyrbal, all of Batavia, and Edward Dyrbal of Rochester. Services: 9 a.m. Friday in St. Hyacinth Church. Burial, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Private calling hours. Nicpon Funeral Home, Auburn, has arrangements. Adelie Fasula

Adelie Fasula, 96, of Syracuse died Wednesday at Loretto. She was born in Syracuse. She retired in 1969 from Crowley Dairy and also worked at Dey Bros. She was a banjo player in a local band. Survivors: Several nieces and nephews. Services: 8:15 a.m. Friday at Pirro & Sons Funeral Home, 514 Turtle St., Syracuse, and 9 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial, Assumption Cemetery. Kenneth A. Holderman

Kenneth A. Holderman, 78, of 9905 Dietzel Road, Weedsport, died Tuesday. He was born in Marion, Ind., and was a tractor-trailer driver for more than 30 years with Red Star. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8137 in Montezuma, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was a life member of American Legion Post 257 in Port Byron. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, the former Allison Mearkley, died in March. Survivors: A daughter, Patricia A. Herrington of Weedsport; two sisters, Juanita Mason of California and Geraldine Corwin of Arizona; a brother, Vernon of New Hampshire; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at  White Chapel Funeral Home. Burial, Emerson Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport.

Maurice J. Loveless Jr

Maurice J. "Butch" Loveless Jr., 64, of county Route 14, Fulton, died Tuesday. Born in Baldwinsville, he lived 38 years in the Fulton area. He graduated in 1955 from Baker High School. He was a self-employed farmer in Fulton and an Army veteran. Survivors: His wife of 40 years, the former Janet M. Pendergast; three daughters, Lisa Vickery of Gloversville, Kimberly Pickard and Robin Smith, both of Fulton; a son, Mark of Fulton; two sisters, Beverly Quartz of Pulaski and Julia Doran of Baldwinsville; five grandchildren. Services: 7 p.m. Friday at Falardeau Funeral Home. Burial, Jacksonville Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Rev. C. David Salico

The Rev. C. David Salico, 57, of West Winfield died Tuesday. Born in  Johnson City, he lived in Sennett 14 years before moving to West Winfield in 2001. He graduated from Owego Free Academy, Houghton College and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He had been a minister at several churches, including Sennett Federated Church. He was past master of Auburn Masonic Lodge, a member of Auburn Rotary Club, past president and treasurer of Unity House board of directors and past president of Ministers Council of American Baptist Churches of New York State. Survivors: His wife of 34 years, the former Kathleen Marcucci; three daughters, Kimberly Salico-Diehl of Mamaroneck and Kelly Nash and Kristen J. Salico, both of Rochester; a son, David P. of Auburn; his parents, Charles and Joy Salico of Apalachin; a brother, the Rev. Dale of Orange,  Calif.; three grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in Sennett Federated Church. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St., Elbridge. Richard Stanton

Richard "Dick" Stanton, 80, formerly of 400 Lamb Ave., Canastota, died Wednesday at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville. He attended the Peterboro Academy. He was a self-employed house painter and handyman in Canastota for many years. He worked three years for Burns Detective Agency in Syracuse at the former  Jefferson-Travis Co. in Canastota. He also worked five years at Oneida Ltd. in Sherrill. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His son, Richard, died in 1942. Survivors: A sister-in-law, Barbara Stanton of Peterboro; several nieces and nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at J. Homer Ball Funeral Home. Burial, Peterboro Cemetery. Calling hours, 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 201 James St., Canastota. John E. Bahn

John E. "Jack" Bahn, 58, of Goshen, Conn., died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, he moved to Connecticut about 28 years ago. He attended Onondaga Community College. He was an inventory control specialist at IBM and later worked as a salesman at Modern Motors, Thomaston, Conn. He was a Navy veteran. A son, Daniel J., died previously. Survivors: His wife, the former Grace Pollasatro; a daughter, Lorraine Jeska of Litchfield, Conn.; his stepmother, June Morgan of Jenson Beach, Fla.; a brother, David of Liverpool; a sister, Mary Bahn of Sturbridge, Mass.; a granddaughter. Robert L. Blackmore

Robert L. Blackmore, 82, of University Avenue, Hamilton, died June 26. Born in Akron, he graduated from Colgate University and Syracuse University. He retired as an English professor at Colgate University, where he also was the former chair of the English department, dean of the faculty and provost. He was an accomplished jazz musician and had had a guest appearance with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. He was the jazz disc jockey for WCRU at Colgate and organized the University Press. He was a flight instructor for the Canadian Air Force and the U.S. Navy during World War II. Survivors: His wife of 61 years, the former Lucia Wicker; two sons, James of Albany and John of Pelham Manor; four grandchildren. Services: Private. Burial, Colgate University Cemetery, Hamilton. Michael Carfagno Sr

Michael Carfagno Sr., 88, of Solvay, died Wednesday at Loretto. Born in Bridgeport, Pa., he moved to Syracuse at the age of 16. He retired in 1978 after 25 years as owner and operator of Mike's Texaco Service Station in Fairmount. He was a member of Fairmount Volunteer Fire Department, the Moose Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Stanley Pennock Post 2893. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 12 years, Anita Belpulsi Eibert Carfagno; a daughter, Connie O'Brien of Venice, Fla.; a son, Michael Jr. of Syracuse; a sister, Arvie Carfagno of Norristown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. She retired in 1967 after 15 years as a secretary from Nate Perry Elementary School, Liverpool. She also worked at Niagara Mohawk. She was a communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Church and member of its Friday and Saturday bridge group. Her first husband, Karl Konduct, died previously. Her second husband, Ernest A. Damon, died in 1975. A daughter, Phyllis Schamu, died in 1968. Survivors: Two daughters, June D. Boardway of Liverpool and Linda D.
