FABRICANT, LILLIAN - Lillian Fabricant, passed away on December 8, 2001. She was 91 years old. She is survived by her son Alan of New City, daughter-in-law Ellen. Granddaughter Jamie Fabricant Becker and her husband David of Washington, D.C. and her grandson Evan Fabricant and his wife Tracy of Mechanicsville, VA. She was predeceased by her husband Jesse who passed away in 1969. She was active with the New Hope Guild for Emotionally Disturbed Children and American Women's ORT. She worked as a bookkeeper and assistant to the president of a NYSE firm until she was 85. She enjoyed her grandchildren, playing canasta and in the summers going to her beach club in Atlantic Beach with her friends. Shiva will be held at Alan's home Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Services will be through Hellman Memorial Chapel. The services will be conducted by Rabbi Paul H. Katz (retired) of the Jewish Community Center of Bensonhurst. FERONY, NANCY - 89, of Park Ridge, NJ, formerly of the Bronx, died Sunday, December 9, 2001. Mrs. Ferony was born January 11, 1912 in the Bronx to John and Antoinette Martino Rubbo. Mrs. Ferrony was a homemaker living in the Bronx. She is survived by her daughter Geraldine Duffy of Pearl River, NY, three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. GIBLIN, JAMES STEPHEN - James Stephen Giblin, a 43 year resident of Orangeburg, NY died Saturday, December 8, 2001 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY. He was 74. Mr. Giblin worked as a theatrical teamster for Local 817 in NYC, NY for 41 years. He was Vice-President for Local 817 before retiring in 1989. Mr. Giblin was born August 4, 1927 in NYC, NY to James S. and Anna Davidson Giblin. He was a Navy Corpsman serving in the Pacific during World War II. Locally, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Blauvelt, NY and the Lions Club of Orangeburg, NY. He is survived by his devoted children: Gail Somerville of Vienna, VA, Clare Nugent of Palisades, NY, Christine Chesterman of West Nyack, NY, Barbara Giblin of Mahwah, NJ, and James Giblin of Pearl River, NY; brother Thomas Giblin of Toms River, NJ; sister Margaret Eisfeld of New Brunswick, NJ; and cherished grandchildren Caitlin and Matthew Nugent, Sean Giblin and Grace and Conor Chesterman. GILMORE, DONALD - Reverend Donald Gilmore, 68, of Kansas City, MO, crossed over from this life into eternity Monday, December 3, 2001, at St Luke's Hospital. Reverend Gilmore was born on March 11, 1933, in White Plains, NY. After graduating from White Plains High School in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Army. While in the Army, he rose to the rank of Master Sergeant, and retired in 1971. After his retirement from the Army, He answerd God's call and entered the ministry. He earned his BA from Sothern Methodist University, in 1975. He also earned his Masters in Theology from the Perkins School of Theology, at Southern Methodist University, in 1980. Prior to moving to Kansas City, Reverend Gilmore served in Pine Bush, NY, White Plains, NY, Dallas, TX, and Abilene, Tx, He is the former Director of Spiritual Formation and Counseling at reStart, Inc., Kansas City, MO. Reverend Gilmore served, at one time or another, in the following positions: Board of Curators, Central Methodist College, Fayette, MO. Member, Mission Council, South Central Jurisdiction, The United Methodist Church; Member Committee on Ordained Ministry, Heartland Central District; CO-chair Governor's Task Force on HIV/AIDS in the African-American Community, Chair, Black Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS of Greater Kansas City; Board of Directors, AIDS Service Foundation, Kansas City, MO, Chair, Heartland AIDS Resource Council, Inc., Kansas City, MO; Chair, HIV/AIDS Care Statewide Advisory Committee, Jefferson City, MO; Chair, Human Rights Commission, Orange County, NY; Member of the White plains Library Board; and White Plains Board of Education, White Plains, NY. Reverend Gilmore was a member of Bright Hope Lodge #6F & AM, White Plains, NY. Throughout his life, He received numerous awards. The following awards highlighted his life: 1996 Marian Kreamer Ribbon of Hope Honoree; The Award of Merit El Paso County. El Paso, TX; nai B'rith in the field of Social Ethics, Dallas, TX; and B'nai B'rith United Mid-Westchester Humanitarian Award, White Plains, NY. Reverend Gilmore was preceded in death by his father, DeWitt, his mother Margaret Ellen (Futch), a son William Douglas, and a daughter Denise. MCSHANE, EDNA B. - Edna B. McShane (nee Barrett) of Yonkers died on Friday, December 7, 2001 at age 89. Born on June 30, 1912 to Edward and Anna (Hanify) Barrett in New York City. She has been a Yonkers resident for the last 50 years. Mrs. McShane was a school teacher for various schools in NYC. She received her B.A. from Mt. St. Vincent College and her Masters from N.Y.U. On September 5, 1945 she married George V. McShane in St. Margaret's Church in Riverdale, he died in 1986. Mrs. McShane was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew's Church. She is survived by her four children George V. of Smithtown, L.I., Arthur G. of Yonkers, Anne (Betsy) of Yonkers and Edna McShane-Newhard of Trumbull, CT. She is also survived by her six grandchildren George, Colleen, Kelly, Kevin, Artie and Caitlin and her brother Gerard Barrett of Huntington, L.I. and her sister Mary Kelly of West Palm Beach, FL and was predeceased by her brother John Barrett. PHETHEAN, DAVID GLENN - 67, of Somers, died December 7, 2001 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY. He was born April 19, 1934 in West Pittston, PA to Edward and Hanna (Evans) Phethean. He worked as a guidance counselor for Fox Lane High School in Bedford, NY, for 23 years and retired in 1989. He graduated from West Pittston High School and graduated from Wilkes College. He earned a Masters Degree in English Literature from Montclair State College, NJ, and Masters and Doctorate of Education from Penn State University. He lived in Somers, since 1965. He was a member of Freemason Warren Lodge in Montrose, PA at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Somers, NY; He will be remembered for his caring, his courage and his sense of humor. He was the husband of Nancy, father of Carol of New York City, and David of Pleasantville; father-in-law of Peter and Tara; grandfather of Daniel, Diana, Nora, and Elena; brother of Muriel Allford of West Pittston, PA, and Jeannette Powers of Whitehouse, NJ. YESSIAN-RATJEN, ALBERTYNA - A Homemaker and former Mahopac resident, died December 7, 2001 in Somers, NY. She was 96 years old. Mrs. Ratjen was born in Zywiec, Poland on April 28, 1905 to Ignac and Marianna (Obruckie) Pstruszynski. She was raised and educated in Poland. In 1925, she came to the United States and settled in NYC. On June 2, 1929, she and Harry Yessian were married in Manhattan, and settled in the Bronx where together they owned and operated a tailor shop. In 1941, she and her husband moved to the Lake Secor area of Mahopac. Mr. Yessian died in 1966. While living in Mahopac, she was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of the Mahopac Senior Citizens Group. On December 20, 1970, she married John Ratjen in Mahopac, and subsequently moved to Vero Beach, FL where she was a parishioner of St. Helen's Catholic Church, a member of the Vero Beach Senior Citizens Group and a charter member of the Polish-American Social Club of Vero Beach. Mr. Ratjen died in 1977. Mrs. Ratjen lived in Vero Beach, until March 2000 when she moved into Somers Manor Nursing Home in Somers, NY. She is survived by her sons, James Yessian of Brewster, NY; Richard Yessian of Sommerville, NJ and her daughter Anna Eckewerth of Mahopac, NY; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 9:45 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Mahopac. Interment following at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery. ATRIA, HARRY P. - Harry P. Atria, on February 6, 2002, at Sound Shore Medical Center. Mr. Atria was a resident of Scarsdale for over 45 years. Mr. Atria was born in New York, the son of James Atria and Catherine Lombardo Atria. He served in the Navy from 1942-1945. He married the former Frances Grasso on December 1, 1946 at St. Clare's Church in the Bronx. Mr. Atria was the former owner and President of the Tanglewood Meat Market in Yonkers, NY from 1954-1986. Later in life, he worked for the Scarsdale Police Department as a School Crossing Guard. Mr. Atria was a Communicant of St. Pius X Church in Scarsdale and an active member of the American Legion Post 52. His wife Frances, one son John Atria of White Plains, one brother, Leonard Atria and two grandchildren, Stephanie and Gregory, survive him. A sister, Anne D'Aleo predeceased him. BENASH, PAULETTE - Paulette Benash (nee Allieu) of Yonkers died on Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at age 79. Born on March 31, 1922 to Jean and Delphine Allieu in New York City where she was raised and educated. Mrs. Benash worked as the Ward Clerk in Intensive Care Unit of St. John's Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 1986. On December 7, 1941 she married Frank T. Benash in New York City; he died on August 2, 1993. Paulette will be remembered for her love of life and singing and dancing. Mrs. Benash is survived by her four children Roger Benash of Yonkers, Richard Benash of Yonkers, Diane Cohoon of Palm Beach, FL and Michelle Benash of New York City. BOYLE, HELEN D. (NEE SABOLIK) - Helen D. Boyle (nee Sabolik) of Yonkers died on Thursday February 7, 2002 at age 73. Born on March 29, 1928 to Michael and Susan (Sulko) Sabolik in Yonkers where she was raised and graduated from Commerce H.S. Mrs. Boyle worked as the Fountain Clerk for F.W Woolworth's in Bronxville for over 40 years, retiring in 1990. On May 25, 1947 she married Richard Boyle in Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church; he died in 1986. Mrs. Boyle was a member of the Sokol Assoc; Westchester Seniors; Sacred heart Senior Center and a member of the Westchester Board of Electors Poll Clerk at School #21 on Lee Avenue. Helen is survived by her 4 children Garrett E. Boyle of Mahopac, Dorothy Hylwa of Maybrook, NY, Kathleen Boyle of Yonkers and Linda Jacobs of Penn. She was predeceased by her son Richard Boyle who died in 1997 and her three brothers John, Andrew and Michael Sabolik. She was the proud mother-in-law to Bryan Hylwa, Andrea Boyle and Rick Jacobs and grandmother to 10 and great-grandmother to 6. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. DEPAOLI, ROBERT J. - Age 72, of Croton Falls, NY, died Monday, February 4, 2002 in Danbury, CT. Mr. DePaoli was born September 13, 1929 in Mt. Kisco to Nicholas and Margaret (Connel) DePaoli. Mr. DePaoli married Veronica Tweed at St. Joseph's Church, Croton Falls, in 1952. Mr. DePaoli was a lifelong resident of the Croton Falls area where he was the owner and operator of Bob's Superette. He had served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a life member of the Croton Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Besides his wife, Veronica, Mr. DePaoli is survived by two sons Robert DePaoli, Jr and James DePaoli, both of Croton Falls and a daughter Anne Marie Battenfeld of Wells, NV; three brothers, Peter DePaoli of Hobe Sound, FL, John DePaoli of Croton Falls, and Louis DePaoli of Jupiter, FL, four sisters, Elizabeth Barrett of Waco, TX, Margaret Baldino of Jupiter, FL, Rose Moravick of Lincolndale, NY, and Mary Morley of Croton Falls, also a grandchild, Garret Battenfeld. GRAHAM, DONALD P. - Donald P. Graham, died February 6, 2002. He was born in Dobbs Ferry on December 28, 1916, son of Hugh and Agnes (Fay) Graham. On September 12, 1942 he married Catherine C. Rock in St. James Church, Stratford, Ct. During WWII, Donald served with the US Army Air Corps in the European Theater. With his family, he ran the Dobbs Ferry Register until 1957 and later worked for the NY Times and NY Post as a proofreader. Donald was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the American Legion Post 1048. Surviving are his wife Catherine and nieces and nephews. His sisters Agnes, Rosamond and Margaret and brothers, George, Hugh and James preceded him in death. GRUNE, KATHERINE - Katherine Grune, a longtime Peekskill resident, died on Wednesday February 6, 2002. She was 89 years old. Ms. Grune was born in Montrose, NY, the daughter of Charles and Jane Farley Grune, Sr. She served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II, working as a court stenographer in New York City. Ms. Grune was a communicant at Assumption Church. Her brother, Charles Grune, Jr., three nieces Joy Ann Grune, Jane Ekizian, Janet Gover, and one nephew, Jeffrey Grune, survive Ms. Grune. Three great nieces and one great nephew also survive along with cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Grune, Mr. and Mrs Harold Grune and Jean Anne Carpenter. In lieu of flowers, in Ms. Grune's memory donations may be made to St. Christopher's Inn, Graymoor, POB 300 Garrison, NY 10524, or Peekskill Ambulance Corps POB 173, Peekskill, NY 10566. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Assumption Church, Peekskill, on Saturday February 9, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Assumption Cemetery. Visiting at Dorsey-Carlone Funeral Home, Peekskill, on Friday (today) 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

JAOUEN, SUSAN ROSEMARY - Susan Rosemary Jaouen, 56, of Dover Plains, NY died on Wednesday February 6, 2002 at her home. Mrs. Jaouen was born on July 1, 1945 in Ashton-under-Lyne Co. Lancashire to Renee Beaumont Peake who survives in Wisbech, England and Albert Peake who is deceased. She married Fernand Jaouen on June 24, 1974 in Brewster, NY. He survives her. She is survived by 3 children, Brigitte Spinda of Dover Plains, NY, Michael Jaouen of Dover Plains, NY and Christophe Jaouen of Brewster, NY. Also surviving sister Barbara Littlewood of Sale, England and 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Nicolas, and Kayla Jaouen. Predeceased by sister Ray Moss. Mrs. Jaouen lived in Dover Plains for 1 and a half years and previously a long time resident of Brewster, NY. She worked as a registered nurse formerly at New Rochelle Hospital. Graveside service Saturday February 9, 2002 at 11 am. Msgr. Edward Barry will be officiating. Interment St. Charles Cemetery N. Nellie Hill Rd. Dover Plains, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 363 7th Ave., 18th Floor, New York, NY 10001-3904.

JOE, WILLIAM P. - William P. Joe, 57, of 3 Glenway, New Fairfield, husband of Joan (Miller) Joe, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday. Bill was born in Flushing, NY December 19, 1944, son of the late William and Agnes (Dolan) Joe. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, Flushing and Queens College and worked in telecommunications sales for many years prior to joining the sales department of Servpro Inc. of Danbury. He was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Zacek of Virgil, NY and Heather Joe of Nanuet, NY as well as a grandson Tyler Zacek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield on Friday morning at 11 am. Burial will be in Flushing Cemetery, Flushing. Calling hours were held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury on Thursday evening.
