FERNANDEZ, JOSE A."TITO" - a 34 year resident of Yonkers died peacefully at his home on February 6, 2002. For 30 years he was employed in construction and was a member of Local 60 of the International Laborers' Union. For many years "Tito" served as the President of the Cuban Community Center of Yonkers. On August 30, 1939 "Tito" was born in Union de Reyes, Cuba to Jose Francisco and Dorinda (Pita) Fernandez. He was 62. Beloved husband of Maria. Devoted father of Jose Luis and Jesus Fernandez and Dianelis Fernandez-Adams, all of Yonkers. Fond brother of Jesus Luis Fernandez of Yonkers and the late Angel Fernandez. Loving grandfather of Charles Knight, Rebeka Adams and Emilie Adams. Friends may call at the Sinatra Funeral Home, 315 So. Broadway on Thurs. from 2-9 PM. FITZULA, SUSAN - Susan Fitzula of Houston, TX, age 61, passed away on February 1, 2002. Born on April 27, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Nancy Pezzementi Fitzula. Susan was a longtime resident of West Haverstraw. Her brother, William Fitzula, Jr, her sister Nancy, and brother-in-law, Alan Kaniss, as well as her nieces Cynthia Delaney, Jennifer and Emily Kaniss and her nephews William Fitzula III, Fredrick Fitzula and Jason Kaniss survive her. She attended St. Peter's School, and was a devoted parishioner of St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw. Susan was a retiree of Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital where she worked for 28 years. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the George M. Holt Funeral Home, Inc, 50 New Main Street, Haverstraw, on Friday, February 8, 2002. FOX, TINA M. - Tina M. Fox, a resident of Mohegan Lake, NY died on January 28, 2002. She was born on November 29, 1959 in New York City, NY, the daughter of James and Muriel Fox. She is survived by her loving sons, Clarence and Adam Morey of Putnam Valley, her brother, Russell of Basking Ridge, NJ and her mother, Muriel Arlin Osher of Jersey City, NJ. Tina was a graduate of Peekskill High School and later New Paltz University. Tina went on to become a Registered Nurse and was most recently employed at the Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 10 at 2 pm at St. Philips Church in the Highlands, 1101 Rte 9D, Garrison, NY. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. FREEMAN, EDWARD J. - Edward J. Freeman, of Rye died on Tuesday, February 5, 2002. He was 93. Mr. Freeman served in the Army. He married Angelina Visconti. Mr. Freeman lived in Rye for the past 20 years. Locally, he was a volunteer at United Hospital in the Skilled Nursing Pavillion for the last 10 years. Mr. Freeman will be remembered for his love of fishing and boating. He is survived by his son, John, daughter, Rosanna, grandchildren, Michelle, Samantha and Scott and his great-grandson, Liam. KLEIN, BRIAN SETH - Brian Seth Klein of New York City died on February 5, 2002. He was 37. Brian was born in Rome, Italy on December 29, 1964. He graduated from Horace Greeley High School in 1982 and Syracuse University in 1986 and received numerous awards in Advertising Sales. He did the best he could. Brian is the beloved son of Dr. Richard Klein and the late Susan Klein. He is also survived by his sisters Elyse Klein and Jessica Klein, his grandmother Rosalind Klein and nephew William Buchsbaum. LATHAN, PATRICIA (NEE HARRISON) - Patricia Lathan (nee Harrison) of White Plains, NY departed this life on February 3, 2002. Patricia graduated from the National Health Institute and worked as a lab assistant for the Westchester County Department of Health. She leaves to cherish her memory: beloved daughter, Noel Parker; mother, Mazeline Harrison; siblings, Ernest Harrison Jr., Kevin Harrison, Marion French, Ernestine Christmas, and Denise Harrison, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. LOJAHN, ALICE JUANITA - Alice Juanita Lojahn, 89, formerly of West Nyack, died on January 25, 2002 in Sequim, Washington. She was born on October 19, 1912 in Camaguey, Cuba to Jose Francisco and Margaret May Foster Rodriquez. IN 1959 Alice became the first librarian of the newly formed West Nyack Free Library, a position she held until her retirement. She was a resident of Van Houten Fields from the early 1940's until 1995. Alice was a talented watercolor artist, an avid organic gardener and a devoted member of the Christian Science Church. She is survived by her sister, Loula May Stallard of Port Townsend, Washington, her brother, Francis Rodriguez of North Bend, Oregon, nephew and nieces, Robert Stallard of Boulder, Colarado, Virginia Bentley of Sequim, Washington, Carolyn Otsen of Bandon, Oregon and Laura Dorbuck of Coos Bay, Oregon and numerous cousins. Alice was a truly loving and generous person and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

LYNCH, ROBERT P. - Robert P. Lynch of Congers, New York died suddenly February 4, 2002 at Nyack Hospital he was 65. He was born in the Bronx to Bernard and Margaret (Kane) Lynch. Robert served in the United States Army from 1960-1966. Robert worked at Verizon Telephone Company for 42 years retiring on June 1998. He was a very active member of St. Paul's Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister along with his wife Mary. Robert is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary of Congers, Daughters Patricia and Joseph Gilson of Monroe, NY, Jeanne and John Reynolds of Orangeburg, NY, Barbara and Richard Cesca of Nanuet, NY. His grandchildren Joseph, Christopher, Kevin Gilson and Richard T. Cesca Jr. also survive him. BURT, JEANNE M. - Jeanne M. Burt, 84, of Venice, FL, formerly of Larchmont, died October 18, 2002. Born October 13, 1918 in Passaic, NJ, she was a homemaker and retired Dental Hygienist. Mrs. Burt was a former President of the Larchmont Women's Club and was also a member of the Pinebrook Women's Club, Venice, FL and the Nokomis Women's Club. She attended Venice Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Burt is survived by her daughters, Marjorie J. Burt of Venice, FL and Sandra B. Dowdell and her husband Thomas, of Cumberland, MD. She is also survived by sister-in-law Ruth M. COVINO, CATHERINE B. - Catherine B. Covino, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away on October 17, 2002. Catherine was born on April 3, 1911 to Andrew and Angela Paluck Warchock in Barnesboro, PA. She married Guido James Covino on May 4, 1941 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Guido predeceased her in December of 1976. Catherine is survived by one son, John Covino, and daughters-in-law, Joyce and Debra Covino. Catherine is predeceased by a son, James. DORFMAN, ANNE - Anne Dorfman, on October 17, 2002 at the age of 92. Loving sister and auntie. Ms. Dorfman lived in Spring Valley for more than 50 years. She worked in various capacities for Avon. She was an active member of Temple Beth El. She leaves behind a sister, Mollie Cohen, two sisters-in-law, Mildred Dorfman and Mary Dorfman, and many loving nieces and nephews. EPSTEIN, FREDRIC MICHAEL - Fredric Michael Epstein, 53, of Carmel, previously of Mahopac, died October 18, 2002 at Westchester County Medical Center. He was born April 6, 1949 in the Bronx to Benjamin Epstein and Ray Halberg. He was employed as a Senior Case Coordinator for Rehabilitation Support Services, Mohegan Lake. Survivors are his fiancee Sherry Weber of Carmel and her son Scott Weber of Albany, sister Rose Fowler of Poughkeepsie, nephews Benjamin J. Wood of Cortlandt and Justin Fowler of Poughkeepsie. ERRICO, VICTORIA - Victoria Errico of Port Chester died of natural causes on Saturday, October 19, 2002, at New York United Hospital. She was 98. Mrs. Errico was a homemaker. Born on December 15, 1903 in Italy to Matthew Gasparini and Matalida Masi, she was educated in Italy. Mrs. Errico is survived by several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Frank, predeceased her in September of 1978. Other family members who died earlier were her sisters: Laura Ruvo and Frances Miloro and brothers: Angelo and Anthony Gasparini. FLOOD, ROBERT A. - Robert A. Flood, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Thursday, October 17, 2002 at St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers. He was 59 years old. He was born on October 20, 1942 to Francis J. and Ethel Parker Flood in Elmhurst, NY where he was raised and educated. Mr. Flood worked in maintenance in air conditioning and refrigeration through Local #21, the Steamfitters and Plumbers Union, for about 25 years until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Flood was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers. He was an accomplished artist. In 2000, he married Zoila Franco in Peru. Mrs. Flood survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children Keith, Kyle and Kaitlin Flood, all Yonkers, a sister Margaret Kurmis of Daytona, FL and two brothers Frank J. of Avon, CO and James E. of San Diego, CA. GADE, MICHAEL - Michael Gade, 64, of Eastham, MA, formerly of Tallman, NY, died Thursday, October 17, 2002. He was the husband of Artist Arlene Gade. Born in Manhattan Mr. Gade was the son of the late Dr. Herbert Gade and the late Anne (Wolf) Gade and was a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and New York University and also attended the N.Y.U. School of Law. He was a resident of Tallman until retiring to Eastham two years ago. Mr. Gade was the founder and CEO of three computer companies during his career, which include Gade Computer Systems LTD, Athena Computer Corp. and Compu Medic all of which were based in New York. He was also the founder of PRI, a non-profit organization for patients rights. Before starting his own business he worked as a data processing manager, assisting many New York corporations and was responsible for the computerization of the first CAT Scan at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. He was an avid photographer for most of his life. Beside his wife, Mr. Gade is survived by a daughter, Lisa Gade of San Francisco, CA; a brother, Dr. Ronald Gade of Sands Point, NY and a sister, Trudy Riggs, of Vero Beach, FL. KUHR, JOSEPH H. - Joseph H. Kuhr, Jr. died on October 18th at age 86, of New Rochelle, NY. Chase Bag Co. of Greenwich, CT employed Mr. Kuhr for 47 years. He retired in 1986 as Comptroller. His wife, Barbara Ann, son Thomas J. Kuhr and daughter-in-law Patricia of New Canaan, CT; four grandchildren: one great-grandson, Sebastian; brother-in-law E. Richard Keeler, and sister-in-law, Carol T. Keeler of Scarsdale survive him. His first wife, Virginia, and two sons: Robert and James, predeceased Mr. Kuhr. LOCKWOOD, REGINA - Regina Lockwood of Ossining on October 17, 2002. She was 73. Mrs. Lockwood worked as a Registered Nurse for The Ossining Open Door before retiring in 1996. Mrs. Lockwood was born November 9, 1928 in Berlin, Germany to Ernst and Helene Hirschberg Mayer. She was educated in New Rochelle and graduated from New Rochelle School of Nursing. On June 21, 1955 she married Milton Lockwood at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, in New Rochelle. Mrs. Lockwood came to the United States in 1936. She lived in Ossining for the past 40 years and before that in New Rochelle. Locally, she was very active in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Croton, and member of the Ossining Choral Society, also volunteered at The Ossining Open Door. Mrs. Lockwood will be remembered for her generosity and kindness. She is survived by husband Milton, children, Thomas and William, Susan Orts, Dr. Joyce Lockwood-Roach, and Elaine O'Brien, nine grandchildren, sons-in-law Frank Orts, Dennis Roche and Robert O'Brien, daughters-in-law Donna and Diana Lockwood. LOPEZ, NIVIA L. - Nivia L. Lopez, 50, of Sleepy Hollow, NY on October 18, 2002 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. Nivia was born in Cuba on January 31, 1952 to Clemente and Elvira Aguiar Pestano, Nivia touched many lives with her overwhelming generosity and unconditional love. Nivia worked as a Medical Histology Technician at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. Besides her parents of Tarrytown, Nivia is survived by her husband, Pedro, of Sleepy Hollow, NY; two sons: Alejandro and Fabian, both of Sleepy Hollow; two sisters: Norma Mejia of Tarrytown and Nancy Sanchez of Sleepy Hollow; and many nieces and nephews. MC IVOR, GERALDINE E. - Geraldine E. McIvor of Nanuet, NY, died Friday, October 18, 2002. She was 65. Born in the Bronx, NY on November 9, 1936 to Edwin and Mary (Lyons) Carroll, Geraldine married James Patrick McIvor on September 10, 1955 and has been a Rockland resident since 1963, and a retired Registered Nurse for both Nyack and Good Samaritan Hospitals. Gerry was predeceased by her sister, Judy Munari in 1996. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James Patrick McIvor; one daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Robert Diener of Middletown, NY; three sons and daughters-in-law: William and Laurie McIvor of Highland Falls, NY, Raymond and Diane McIvor of Montvale, NJ, James A. and Karen McIvor of Congers, NY; a sister and brother-in-law, Maura and Donald Gilmartin of Bayville, NJ and brother-in-law Mario Munari of the Bronx; two nieces: Tracy and Kara; three nephews: Sean, Timothy and Michael. MOORE, WILLIAM JAMES ("JIMMY") - William James Moore of Yonkers, NY, died at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx on October 10, 2002. Jimmy served in the U.S. Navy on the destroyer SS Harlan S. Dickinson from 1965-1968. He worked for the Marine Towing and Transportation "Tugboats" in New York Harbor for 25 years and the Limousine business for the past eight years. He married Nancy in 1972. His daughter Michele, son Danny and granddaughter Danielle and grandson Anthony survive Jimmy. His parents Gerda and Robert Moore of Flushing, NY, siblings Susan Mouner and Richard Moore and six nieces and four nephews also survive him. He loved politics, sports, classical music, reading, telling jokes and laughing. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 65th Ave. and Parsons Blvd., Flushing, Queens on Sunday, October 20th at 3 pm.

MORTON, CHARLES H. (RONNIE) - Charles (Ronnie) Morton, Jr., 48, died Thursday, October 17, 2002. Charles Morton, Jr. was a retired Yonkers Police Detective. He was the son of the late Charles H. Morton, Sr. and Mary (Pamplin) Morton. Mr. Morton was born in Yonkers, New York and was a lifetime resident there. He was educated in Yonkers schools and graduated from Yonkers High School in 1973. He served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. He joined the Yonkers Police Department in 1980. His years on the Police Force were noteworthy. He retired in the year 2000 as a Yonkers Homicide Detective. He also served as President of the Yonkers Guardians for two years. Charles H. (Ronnie) Morton, Jr. leaves to mourn: one daughter, Trenia Nelson; Jerome Lee, whom he reverenced as a son; three grandchildren; a twin sister, Janet M. NACK, NORMAN - Norman Nack, age 74, of White Plains, NY died Saturday, October 18, 2002. Beloved husband of Ann. Loving father of Denise and Irwin. NEDWICK, STEPHANIE L. - Stephanie L. Nedwick (nee Goidz), a lifelong Yonkers resident died on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at St. John's Riverside Hospital. She was 88 years old. She was born on March 5, 1914 to Constantine and Anna Kulesz Goidz in Yonkers, where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School. Mrs. Nedwick was a Supervisor with the Board of Education in Yonkers for over 20 years retiring in 1982. Mrs. Nedwick was a longtime parishioner of St. Casimir's Church and she was a member of the Polish Community Center Senior Citizens. On October 9, 1938, she married Nicholas Nedwick at St. Casimir's Church. Mr. Nedwick died in 1995. Survivors include two sons: Robert and his wife JoAnn of Tarrytown and Phillip (Yonkers P.D.) and his wife Rose of Yonkers, and one sister, Helen Zabielski of Yonkers. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Jamie, Eddie, Michelle, Nicholas, Stephanie and Jenna; her beloved niece Lorraine, her nephew Jerry, and other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Marilyn Nedwick and two sisters Maryann Tackas and Sr. Laura Bernice Goidz, C.R. Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Casimir's Church on Tuesday, October 22nd at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. NUSSO, ALBERT L. - Albert L. Nusso of Briarcliff Manor, died October 17, 2002 at Rosary Hill Home. He was 80. Mr. Nusso worked as an auto mechanic and owner of Robin Hood Muffler & Brake Shop in Mount Vernon for over 25 years before retiring in 1985. Mr. Nusso was born August 21, 1922 in Tuckahoe, NY to Frank and Nellie Vitale Nusso. He was educated in the Mt. Vernon Public Schools and served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. On June 1, 1957, he married Ann Nancy Vodola in the Bronx. A resident of Briarcliff Manor for the past six years, Mr. Nusso lived in Crestwood for 30 years. He was a member of the New York Athletic Club and enjoyed boating and motor-home travel. He was a parishioner of St. Theresa's Church in Briarcliff Manor. Mr. Nusso is survived by his wife Ann and one daughter, Diane, of Briarcliff Manor; one nephew, Edward, of Bisbee, Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews by marriage. He was predeceased by one brother, Edward, and by two sisters: Vera and Margaret. Calling hours are Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, Briarcliff Manor. The Funeral is Monday, 10 AM, at St. Theresa's Church, Briarcliff Manor. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
