MACCAULEY, SISTER ROSE AGNES - Sister Rose Agnes MacCauley (formerly Sr. Agnes Marie), beloved member of the Sisters of Charity, Convent of Mary the Queen, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Convent of Mary the Queen, 35 Vark Street, Yonkers, NY, on Friday 1-8 pm. Funeral Mass Saturday 9 am at the convent. MACUR, ALICE M. - Alice M. Macur of Newburgh, NY, a homemaker and a longtime resident of the area died Tuesday, December 10, 2002 in Goshen. She was 82. The daughter of Patrick Boyle and Myrtle Reynolds Boyle, she was born July 1, 1920 in Yonkers. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 1666, Yonkers. She was the widow of Alexander Macur. Survivors include her son Alexander Macur, Jr. of SC, and son Raymond Macur of Walden, three daughters, Dolores Stammler of Wurtsboro, Patricia Simchock of Newburgh, Alice Schenck of Bloomingburg, brother Joseph Boyle of Long Island; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Frank Boyle and Richard "Alan" Boyle. Visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at MILLSPAUGH FUNERAL HOME, 22 Bank Street, Walden. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 13, 2002, 12 noon, at the Funeral Home. Father Joseph D. Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor. MARRERO, CELINA S. - Celina S. Marrero of Haverstraw passed away peacefully after a long illness on December 11, 2002. She was 82 years old. Survivors include her son John Marrero and his wife Donna of Gloucester, VA. A daughter Judith and her husband Eduardo Garcia of Haverstraw, NY, five grandchildren Lani and Tina Marrero, Edward, Richard and Michael Garcia. she is also survived by seven great grandchildren as well as by three brothers. Friends may call at the EDWARD C. FINN FUNERAL HOME on Friday December 13, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:15 am in St. Peter's Church, Haverstraw, NY. Burial will follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY. MC PARTLAND, WILLIAM - William McPartland of Lakewood, NJ, formerly of Blauvelt, NY, passed into Eternal Life on December 10, 2002. At the time of his death he was living in Valley Cottage, NY. William was born in Manhattan on December 16, 1921, to John and Georgina McPartland. William was a retired Air Force Major and Navigator in the U.S. Air Force during WW II, stationed in Italy. He retired in 1983 from the NYC Police Department as a Lieutenant after 28 years of service. William was an active parishioner at St. Catherine’s in Blauvelt for many years. In 1988 William and his wife Evelyn retired to Lakewood, NJ and Naples, FL spending their time with family and grandchildren. William was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn, on May 3, 2002. He is survived by his six brothers and three sisters: Hugh, Bobby, Danny, and John of Long Island, NY; Jim of Vermont and Frank of Boynton Beach, FL; Mary and Catherine of New Jersey, and Betty of Maspeth, NY. He is survived by four daughters: MaryEllen Walkowich of Ringwood, NJ, Jane Scattareggia of Stony Point, Maura Lutz of Stony Point and Sheila Kimmel of Valley Cottage. He is survived by dozens of nieces and nephews, too many to name, and seven grandchildren that loved him dearly and will miss their "Grandpa" very much. O'BRIEN, THOMAS M. - Thomas M. O'Brien, 44, of New London, CT, formerly of New Rochelle, NY, died on December 10, 2002 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. Mr. O'Brien worked as a self-employed contractor in New Rochelle. He was born December 19, 1957 in the Bronx, NY, the son of Thomas and Barbara Koerner O'Brien. RIFFLARD, ROBERT L. - Robert L. Rifflard, of Washingtonville, NY, a retired Maintenance Man for Ford Motor Co., died December 10, 2002 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center. He was 87. The son of Leonard and Jessie Crawford Rifflard, he was born April 13, 1915 in Bayonne, NJ. He was the widower of Bernice Rifflard. He is survived by his sons: Bob and his wife Tracie Rifflard of Washingtonville, Jesse and his wife Sharon of Orange Lake, NY, Bruce and his wife Marianne of Stony Point and daughter Bernice and her husband Norman Pitt of Deltona, FL. RILEY, BARBARA A. - Barbara A. Riley, 67, passed away on December 11, 2002 at her home of 40 years in Valley Cottage, NY. She was a loving and caring woman devoted entirely to her family. She was the hardest working, most unselfish woman a person could know. She never took time for herself. She always thought of others, either working as a bookkeeper or by watching her grandchildren, of which she took much pride and joy. She worked many years at St. Paul's School in Valley Cottage, NY to be closer to her five children as they grew up. She was born October 16, 1935 in Mt. Vernon, NY to Harold and Margaret Kraft Bard. She was one of five children. Surviving her is her devoted and loving husband and companion of 46 years, John J. Riley Jr., her five children, Carol Riley of West Haverstraw, NY, Nancy Edlund of Stony Point, NY, James Riley of Congers, NY, Susan Booth of Tappan, NY, and Joan Will of Stony Point, NY. Also surviving her are nine grandchildren which were her pride and joy and gave her countless hours of pleasure, Dwight Jr. and Jennifer Edlund, Lauren and Danielle Riley, Robert and Christine Booth and Michael, Thomas, and Andrew Will. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Friedrich of Orlando, FL. She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church of Congers, NY. John and Barbara were ardent travelers, always going somewhere. They loved the beach and thoroughly enjoyed going to Virginia Beach for many years. Barbara was an avid gourmet cook and enjoyed preparing the meals on all holiday occasions. SIUDA, CARMELA L. - Carmela L. Siuda, 35, of Yonkers, died suddenly on December 8th during an asthma attack. Born May 27, 1967 in Mt. Vernon to Joan Prokop and Louis Cecere, she was a graduate of Tuckahoe H.S. and Monroe College in New Rochelle. She was a lifelong area resident and a nursing student. SMITH, THOMAS - Thomas Smith, a native of Yonkers died on December 10, 2002. He was 92 years old. Mr. Smith was born on April 30, 1910 to Cornelius and Alice Smith. He married the former Florence Barbieri in St. John the Baptist Church and has been married for over 50 years. His loving wife Florence survives. He was employed as a paymaster with Phelps Dodge until his retirement when he was 65 years old. A son Thomas E. Smith predeceased him. TOPAZIO, LUCILLE - 89, died December 11, 2002 at home surrounded by her family. She was a 10 year resident of Fishkill, NY, and Yonkers for 80 years. She was born in Yonkers on December 13, 1912 to Leonardo Ciarletto and Annunziata Pastora. She was the youngest of 10 children and the last surviving. She married Anthony Topazio on May 14, 1931, he died October 8, 1989. ALFREDO, GEORGE JOHNATHAN - George Johnathan Alfredo, age 24, of Simpsonville, SC, died December 7, 2002. Born on July 19, 1978 in Manhasset, NY, he was the son of George and Linda Alfredo. George was employed with Day & Zimmermann Construction Company as an apprentice pipe-fitter. Surviving are his stepfather and mother, Henry and Linda Seeley of Simpsonville; sisters Beth Borgelt and husband Timothy of Greenville, Dayna Mascia of New City, NY; nephews Joey and William Mascia, and Mathew, Joshua, and Alec; and niece Emerson Borgelt. ANTONECCHIA, MARIA TERESA - Maria Teresa Antonecchia of Mount Vernon passed away on December 10, 2002. Maria Teresa was born in 1910 in Italy. She married Felice Antonecchia in 1928 in Italy. He predeceased her in March of 1971. She is survived by three sons: Felix, Anthony and Ben; daughters-in-law Dolores, Josephine and Irene; seven grandchildren: Dr. Paul Antonecchia, Felicia, Andrea, Christopher, Philip, Gregory and Marc. BEVAN, JEAN LUCAS - Jean Lucas Bevan, 75, died December 8, 2002 at her home in Osprey, FL, after a long battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Bevan was the wife of Robert S. Bevan, former General Tax Counsel of Texaco, Inc. She was born in Fremont, OH, the daughter of Paul and Frieda Lucas of Fremont, was a graduate of the Ross High School, class of 1945, in Fremont; and thereafter attended Miami University, Oxford, OH, where she majored in Art. Mrs. Bevan was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, 7750 Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL, 34238. Previously, she was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Old Tappan, NJ. She was associated with the National Automobile Dealers Association in Washington, DC, and helped publish the "Blue Book" during the years 1950 through 1955. Mrs. Bevan lived at the Oaks on the Tamiami Trail where she was active over the last nine years in the Art Appreciation Club, the literary group, and the Garden Club. While a resident of the Oaks, she continued her art work and exhibited some of it in the annual Oaks Art Show. Prior to settling in Florida, she lived for over 40 years in Rockland County, NY, at Suffern and Orangeburg. In Rockland, she participated in many different activities, including The Morning Music Club of Nyack. For the past six years, she has maintained a summer home in the Harbor Watch section of Burlington, VT. Mrs. Bevan has supported many cancer and macular degeneration groups, and urges financial support of them. In addition to her husband of 50 years, Mrs. Bevan is survived by her daughter, Tregea Lucas Bevan, of East Montpelier, VT, and her sister, Annette Lucas Barner, of Hilton Head, SC. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert S. Bevan, Jr. There will be a viewing Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at 7 to 9 at the Packer Funeral Home, 4020 Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 2 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church, 7750 Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL. BISIGNANO, ANGELA A. - Angela A. Bisignano of Harrison, died on December 9, 2002 at the age of 71. Born on September 7, 1931 to Angelo and Ida (Fraioli) Notorgiacomo, Angela worked for many years as a switchboard operator for Neiman Marcus. In 1954, she marred William Bisignano at St. Vito's Church. In addition to her husband "Bill," she is survived by a son, William Bisignano, Jr. of Hopewell Junction, daughter Joyce Casailinova of Stormville, brother Daniel Notorgiacomo of Mamaroneck; sisters Gilda Varbaro and Ann Gianetti, both of Harrison and Lucy D'Antonio of Florida. BOOTH, CYNTHIA BRITTON - Cynthia Britton Booth, age 67, a resident of Kingsland, GA and a former longtime resident of Katonah, NY, widow of Charles H. Booth, died Friday December 6, 2002 in Kingsland, GA, the result of an automobile accident. Mrs. Booth was born August 26, 1935 in Mt. Kisco, NY, the daughter of the late Robert and Jeannette (Clark) Britton. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy and attended Good Counsel College in White Plains, NY. She had lived in Kingsland, GA for the past 18 months, and prior, had been a 35-year resident of Katonah, where she attended Mt. Mary's Church. As an avid golfer, she was a former member of the Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, NY and the Salem Golf Club in North Salem, NY. While living in Kingsland, she attended Our Lady Star of the Sea in St. Marys, GA and was a member of the Laurel Island Links in Kingsland. On June 18, 1955, Mr. and Mrs. Booth were married at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mt. Kisco. Mr. Booth died on October 28, 1984. Their son Britt Booth died January 20, 1967. Mrs. Booth is survived by one son, Charles H. Booth, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Brewster; two daughters: Jeannette Booth McPhee and her husband Doug of Woodbine, GA, Mimi Booth Flanagan and her husband Steven of Katonah; three sisters: Katherine Trimmer and Jeannette Flynn, both of FL, and Roberta Hart of PA; one brother, Robert Britton of NC, and 10 grandchildren: Peggy, Chuck, Maureen and Kevin Booth, Kati, Colleen and Britt McPhee, and Steven, Cynthia and Michael Flanagan. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Katonah. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Thornwood, NY. BRUSH, BARBARA (TROMM) - Barbara (Tromm) Brush, formerly of New City, NY, passed away late Thanksgiving night, November 28, 2002, at the Newport Heatlh Care Center in Newport, VT, where she had resided the last five weeks of her life. She was born on June 29, 1924 in Nyack, NY, the middle daughter of the late George Tromm and Marion (Tallman) Tromm who were owners and operators of "Tromm's Delicatessen" on Main Street in Nyack. She grew up and attended schools in Nyack. She worked most of her life for the New York Telephone Company, now Verizon. Until 1999, she resided in New City with her late husband Charles, then moved to Derby, VT to her home "on the lake," a lifetime desire. Once accomplished, however, health became a challenge and her desire changed: she wanted to return to Rockland County. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, two sisters: Nancy of IL and Jean of NC and one niece, Georgia, of IL. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara, granddaughter Karla, five great-grandchildren: Hannah, Sarah, Adam, Ashley and Gabriel, all of Vermont; two nieces, Nancy and Anita of IL; a nephew John of NC; a grandnephew Justin of IL, along with three "dears": Jamie, Courtney and Travis of NC, formerly of New City, NY. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 1,2 2002 at 11 AM at Grace Episcopal Church on First Avenue in Nyack, where five generations of her family were baptized. Vito was born in Conversano, Italy on May 3, 1911 and was the son of Giuseppe and Maria Lorusso Campanella, he was 91. Vito was a retired stone mason with local #235 of LIUNA. He loved wine making, making tomato sauce, and vegetable gardening and had a zest for life. He was a former semi professional soccer player in Italy and was a veteran of the Italian Army. His son Joseph of Ossining and several nieces and nephews survive him. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with the funeral mass Thursday 10 am at St. Ann’s Church. CLARK, MARIE - Marie Clark a loving, caring, compassionate woman who enriched the lives of all those who walked the path of life with her, died on Sunday, December 8, 2002, at her home in Pearl River. She was 67. Mrs. Clark was a resident of Pearl River for 35 years. She was a Registered Nurse for over 25 years, most recently as a Supervisor of Public Health Nurses for Rockland County's Department of Health. She retired in 1997. Recently, she volunteered her time at Rockland Breakfast Program at the United Church of Spring Valley. Marie was an avid golfer, a world traveler and an ardent rose gardener. She was also an Orangetown Democratic Committeperson for many years. Marie was the wife of Edward and mother of Joseph of Pearl River, Christopher of Chicago and Scott of New York City, and mother-in-law of Francesca and grandmother of Sabrina of Pearl River. She is survived by her sisters Bernadette, Margaret, Catherine, Helen, Claire and predeceased by her brother Gerard. Visiting hours are 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 and Thursday, December 12, 2002, at the Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, New York. DIDDEN, AUGUST HAVILAND - Age 72, of Tampa, FL passed away December 8, 2002 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa after a lengthy illness with his loving family at his side. He was predeceased by his mother Anna Haviland Didden and father August Didden. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Josephine Migliardi Didden; three children, Bart August Didden and wife Missy of Port Chester, NY., Laurie Wolf and husband David of Tampa and John August Didden and wife Christina of Crystal Beach, FL. He is also survived by six cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Brigid Didden, Nichole and Katie Wolf and Anthony and Isabella Didden. Augie was born and raised in Port Chester, NY. Upon graduation from high school there, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War, earning the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1954. In 1955 he began an over 30 year career as a self-employed business owner in Mamaroneck, NY. After many years of enjoying his favorite hobbies of hunting, fishing and attending NFL football games, Augie and his wife moved to Tampa, FL. in 1988 where he retired and developed many new friends and gained a passion for playing bridge and attending Buccaneer football games. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Visitation will be Wednesday, 4-7 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 15520 North Blvd, Tampa, at 10 A.M. DYER, PATRICIA A. - Patricia A. Dyer of Nanuet, NY, died on December 9, 2002 at Helen Hayes Hospital. Patricia was born in Queens, NY, on February 11, 1969 to William and Diane McGrath Heidelberger. She moved to New City in 1976, prior Queens, NY. She was a supervisor for St. Agatha's Home in Nanuet, NY for 10 months. She is survived by her mother Diane Heidelberger, daughter Raven, Hayley, Justice and Hope Dyer, her brothers Kevin and William and her sisters Christine and Karen and her mother-in-law Wilomena Akers. FERRAVANTE, ALEXANDER D. - Alexander D. Ferravante, Sr., age 71, of Naples, Florida and Hamden, CT, a retired electrician for Local IBEW 501/3 of White Plains, died on Sunday, December 8, 2002. Born in White Plains, he was the beloved husband of Rose Storino Ferravante; devoted father of Alexander D. Ferravante, Jr., Robin Lanuk and Sheri McCrory; and cherished grandfather of seven.
