Olive M. Payne Salvage, 81, of 2 Francis St., Auburn, died Thursday. She was born in Exeter, England, and educated in England. She was a factory worker for many years at TRW of Union Springs. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Cayuga and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1975 Auxiliary. She served in the British Army Air Corps. Her husband, Michael, died in February. Survivors: A daughter, Rhonda Roy of Auburn; a son, John Rancier of Cayuga; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services: Monday at a time to be announced. Ralph M. Sammis, 86, formerly of Westvale, died Wednesday at Rosewood Heights Health Center. Born in Manhattan, he lived in Syracuse and Westvale most of his life. He was an inspector for Smith Corona and a self-employed landscaper. He was a former volunteer with Solvay Fire Department and a communicant of Holy Family Church. He was a sergeant in the Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Cross. Survivors: His wife, Florence Sammis of North Syracuse; a daughter, Nancy Plaza of Syracuse; a son, Philip of Chittenango; a stepson, Jack Ross of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Fairmount. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. She retired in 1972 as a candlemaker for Will & Baumer Candle Co. after 45 years. She was a communicant of Assumption Church in Syracuse. Survivors: Two nieces, Beverly Rutkowski of Liverpool and Pat A. Sinay of Syracuse. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Fergerson Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in Assumption Church. Roland E. "Bud" Scoville Jr., 48, of Manitau Road, Cayuga, died Wednesday. He was born in Mentz. He was the manager of Hy Way Oil Inc. for 26 years and the owner of Bud's Bait & Tackle Shop in Auburn. He was a member of the Scipio Baptist Church. Survivors: His wife, the former Cynthia Gaston; two daughters, Pamela M. Hawker of Auburn and Samantha A. Hawker of Locke; a son, Roland E. of Illinois; three sisters, Margaret Booher of Longview, Wash., Cindy Smith of Baldwinsville and Kellee Carroll of Auburn; two grandchildren. He retired in 1984 after 15 years at East Syracuse-Minoa School District. He was a member of Durhamville Baptist Church. His wife of 28 years, the former Sophronia VanAlstine, died in 1984. Bill Branson Sr. of 6 Dunlap Ave., Marcellus, died Monday. Born in Atlanta, he graduated in 1954 from Colgate University and attended graduate school at Syracuse University and the State University College at Oswego. He retired in 1982 after 30 years as a math teacher at Liverpool High School and also was a technical writer for General Electric Co. and an adviser for the Ithaca College Math Prize and the Onondaga County Interscholastic chess teams. He was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church, Marcellus. He was an Army Air Forces veteran with the 8th Air Force of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 56 years, the former Joanne Victorson; a son, Bill Jr. of Marcellus; a brother, James M. Jr. of Marietta, Ga.; four grandchildren. Services: Were private. Douglas Arthur Cameron, 81, of 63 E. Genesee St., Auburn, died Friday. He was a life resident of Auburn. He graduated from Auburn East High School. He retired in 1985 after 21 years as an electrician at Syracuse University. He was one of the first ushers at the Schine Theater in Auburn and managed the Palace and  Jefferson theaters in Auburn. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1975 and Swientoniowski-Kopeczek American Legion Post 1324 in Auburn. He was an Army sergeant in Signal Battalion during World War II. Survivors: His wife, the former Mary Madden; three sons, Douglas and Gregory M., both of Auburn, and Terrence J. of Endicott; two sisters, Dorothea Mazzeo of Auburn and Isabella Cousin of Seneca Falls; a brother, John W. of Auburn; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Axilda Milligan Chadwick, 98, of The Nottingham died Thursday. Born in Buffalo, she lived in Syracuse most of her life. She graduated from D'Youville College and received a master's degree from Syracuse University. The Chadwick Residence, a transitional home for women and children, was named in her honor. She was an English teacher and head of the English department at Gowanda Central High School. She was a teacher at Maria Regina College. She was executive director at the Onondaga County Unit of American Cancer Society and was a librarian at Onondaga County Public Library Betts Branch. She received Catholic Charities' Silver Jubilee Award for Outstanding Contributions to the elderly in 1988. Her husband, Dr. Leon A., died in 1977. Survivors: A son, Raymond P. of Tully; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Monday in St. James Church.
