She was a member of the Solvay Fire Department Auxiliary and the department's Prospect Hose Company. Survivors: Her husband, Anthony J. Sr.; two daughters, Carolyn Guidetti and Catherine Maze, both of Schenectady; a son, Anthony J. Jr. of Geddes; a sister, Dorothy Murphy of Nedrow; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services: 8 a.m. Wednesday at Pirro & Sons Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, Solvay. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Robert J. Foster

Robert J. Foster, 79, of Auburn died Saturday. Born in Auburn, he graduated from Holy Family High School and the University of Notre Dame. He was a district sales manager for Cooper-Jarrett, Syracuse, and retired in 1985. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Church, an usher at the church and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Notre Dame Alumni Association. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving as a radio operator/gunner aboard the B-17 Flying Fortress. He was awarded the Air Medal with five oak-leaf clusters with the 398th Bomb Group, with 35 missions over Europe. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Alice O'Brien; three daughters, Mary Foster Rowe, Cheryl A. Foster and Laura Foster Cuthbert, all of Auburn; two sons, Robert C. of Penn Yan and William L. of Syracuse; a brother, William M. of Auburn; four grandchildren. Services: 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the family home and 11 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church, Auburn. Burial, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Glen W. Hicks, 75, of 119 Bruno Road, Canastota, died Saturday at Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility. Born in Walton, he attended Camden schools. He was a truck driver for 35 years with Teamsters Local 182 of Utica and retired in 1990. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Canastota. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Pittsburgh and LST-494, and participating in the invasions of Normandy and Iwo Jima. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Canastota Memorial Post 600, American Legion Sherrill Post 230 and the National Disabled American Veterans Association. Survivors: His wife of 54 years, the former Martha Cervola; a daughter, Roxanne Finocchiaro of Chittenango; a son, Robert of Chittenango; a sister, Grace Hicks of Lakeport; three brothers, Lyle and Hugh, both of Canastota, and Carlton of Lakeport; two grandchildren. Raymond A. Lemke, 88, of Jamesville, died Saturday. He was born in Syracuse. He worked for Crucible Specialty Metals for 38 years and retired in 1976. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Jamesville. He was a member of Southwood Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, the former Dorothy Norton, died in 1979. Survivors: His companion, Millie Fort of Jamesville; two daughters, Sheila A. House of Williamstown and Linda A. She was a member of the Golden Agers and was a drum majorette for the John Venditti Post 1, Italian American War Veterans of the United States. Her husband, James B., died in 1993. Born in Niskayuna, she graduated from Nottingham High School and St. Lawrence University and received a master's degree from State University College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse. She was director of education at Cornell Plantations at Cornell University and a faculty member in the departments of florticulture, ornamental horticulture and landscape archirecture at Cornell amd the School of Landscape Architecture at State University College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She was a member of the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta. She worked with her husband from 1981 to '94 at Doell & Doell Garden Historians and Landscape Preservation Planners. Survivors: Her husband of 26 years, Gerald A.; a son, Zachary F., at home; her parents, Konstanty and Georgene Klim of Syracuse; two brothers, John D. Klim of Escanaba, Mich., and David G. He retired in 1984 as a police officer with the Syracuse Police Department after 22 years. He retired as an electrician in 1994 after 10 years with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 43. He worked security for Syracuse University for 10 years. He was a communicant of Christ the King Church, Liverpool, and a member of Knights of Columbus. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His wife of 52 years, the former Lorraine Danquer; five daughters, Jaime M. De Forest-Russo of Ashaway, R.I., Lynn M. Felicia and Tracey M. Frances Nettleton Haines, 88, of King Ferry died Sunday. Born in East Venice, she was a life resident of southern Cayuga County. She graduated from Cortland Normal School and received a master's degree from State University College at Cortland in 1963. She began teaching in 1936 in Eight Square, a one-room schoolhouse in East Venice, and retired in 1976 as a third-grade teacher in the former Sherwood Central School District. Her husband of 61 years, Leon, died in 1997. Survivors: Two sons, William L. of New York City and Douglas L. of Punta Gorda, Fla.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
