Charles L. Eagan

Mr. Charles L. Eagan, 54, of North Street, Gloversville, died Friday, Dec. 7, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville following a long illness.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1947, in Amsterdam, the son of Walter and Gladys Scott Eagan. He was employed as a mechanic by Cars On Credit in Johnstown.

Mr. Eagan was married on April 26, 1969, to Sharon A. Myers, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Gladys Eagan of Gloversville; daughter, Deborah Eagan of Gloversville; sons, Charles L. Eagan Jr. and Thomas F. Eagan, both of Gloversville; brothers Richard Eagan of Gloversville, Paul Eagan of Lowville, N.Y. and Timothy Eagan Sr. of Johnstown; sisters, Carol Eagan, Maryann Hayes and Sharon Colson, all of Gloversville and Sheila D'Onofrio of Poland, N.Y.; granddaughters, Nicole Murray, Tiffany Murray and Brianna Eagan; grandson, Dale Eagan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by brothers Bruce Eagan and James W. Eagan; and granddaughter, Nikita Chevy Murray.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. R.W. Williams will officiated. Interment will take place at Ferndale cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, NY 12078.

Anna Ciaccio Viano

Mrs. Anna Ciaccio Viano, 94, died Friday, Dec. 7, at Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, Gloversville, where she had resided for the past 3 1/2 years.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1907, in Gloversville, the daughter of Gaetano and Ursula Farina Ciaccio. She and her late husband, Anthony Viano lived in Brooklyn for several years. He died in 1962.

She was employed as a salesperson at the former Meltezers Fur Shop in Gloversville for many years.

She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Gloversville and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her sister, Assunta "Sussie" DelSignore of Gloversville; her nine nieces and nephews, Rose Cellary of Johnstown, Guy DelSignore Jr. and Robert DelSignore, both of Mayfield, Ursula Chizek, Ursula McDonald, Guy Ciaccio and Joan Handy, all of Gloversville, Fred Viano of New York City; Richard Viano of New Jersey; Emily Heaning of Amsterdam; several grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Thomas Ciaccio and Joseph Ciaccio; a sister, Rose Ciaccio; and a nephew, Panfilo "Pat" DelSignore.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted at 8:45 a.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church. The Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill cemetery, Gloversville.

Thomas A. Derrico

Mr. Thomas A. Derrico, 96, formerly of Kingsboro Towers, died Saturday morning at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home after a brief illness.

He was born in Grumo, Veneno, Province of Naples, Italy, Sept. 8, 1905, the son of Anthony and Maria Concetta Troia Derrico.

He worked for the Fulton County Highway Department for 22 years, retiring in 1968. In 1968, he and his wife moved first to New Port Richey, Fla. and later to Valrico, Fla.

A well-known musician who played both the clarinet and saxophone, he performed in many local orchestras and through the years was a member of the Citizens Band of Johnstown. While in Florida, he played first chair clarinet for the prestigious 80 piece Clearwater Concert Band, along with many other bands in the area.

On Aug. 11, 1926, he married the former Theresa Cole in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. He is survived by his daughter, Marie Otto, and her husband, John, of Gloversville; a grandson, John T. Otto and his wife, Kathy, of Brandon, Fla.; two great-grandsons, Jay and Ryan Otto, both of Brandon, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Peter and Arthur Derrico, and three sisters, Mary Guiffre, Celia Crocetta and Lucy Landolfi.

A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 S. Main St., Gloversville, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. Spring interment will be in Mt. Carmel cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.

Charles W. Plumer Sr.

Charles W. Plumer Sr., 86, of Chamberlin Hill Road, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001 at Eden Park Health Center, East Greenbush, after a short illness. He was born in New York City and had been a resident of the Capital Region for 50 years and was a resident of West Sand Lake for 30 years. Mr. Plumer retired in 1978 from New York Telephone, where he had worked for 48 years.

He was the husband of the late Virginia Whalen Plumer; father of Robert C. Pulmer, of California; Charles W. Plumer Jr. of Danbury, Ct.; Lauretta Tierney of Mayfield, N.Y.; Virginia (Ginny) Lashoff of West Sand Lake, N.Y.; John M. (Mary) Plumer of East Greenbush, N.Y. and Ronnie A. (Mike) Clark of Albany, N.Y.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, will be held Tuesday morning at 9 and 10 a.m. at St. John's Church, Rensselaer, where liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be in Memory Cardens, Colonie.

Gerald Daniels Sr.

Gerald Daniels Sr., 52, of Mayfield, N.Y., died Sunday after being stricken at his home.

He was born on Aug. 31, 1949 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Anson and Joan Burke Daniels. He attended schools in Brooklyn and later FMCC. He lived in the Mayfield area for the past 27 years.

He was an Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War.

He was employed at Coleco Industries in Mayfield for many years.

Surviving include his wife, Crystal Daniels of Mayfield; two sons, Gerald Daniels Jr. of Gloversville and Jason Daniels of Mayfield; one daughter, Audrey Daniels of Mayfield; one brother, Stephen Daniels of Lindenhurst, Long Island; one sister, Elaine Taft of New Port Richey, Fla.; two grandchildren, Isaac Daniels and James Walker Jr.; nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Saratoga National cemetery.

Timothy Lee Reid

Timothy Lee Reid, 59, of Ramona, Calif., died Nov. 24, at his home after being stricken.

He was born on April 11, 1942 in Gloversville, the son of Leroy and Arlene Wager Reid. He was a college graduate and resided in San Francisco for 20 years before he moved to Ramona.

He was the owner and president of a medical management firm of Miami, Fla. for over 25 years.

He dedicated most of his life for volunteer charitable organizations.

Surviving are his mother, Arlene Borrero of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a special friend of 37 years, Robert Collet Tricaro; one daughter, Tammy Skinner of Caroga Lake; two brothers, Thomas Reid of California and Leroy Reid of Caroga Lake; two sisters, Arlene and Sherry Reid of Fort Pierce; one grandson, Mark A. Skeete; 10 nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Lynn Reid Dinger.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville. The Rev. Wayne Jones, pastor of Fremont Street United Methodist Church, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Interment will take place at a later time at the convenience of the family.
