Noel DeGaetano
1943 - 2012
Noel James DeGaetano, 69, of Tuckahoe, died on Aug. 26, 2012. Beloved husband of Deanna. Devoted father of Noah DeGaetano and Kira DeGaetano Souzza, loving son of Dominick DeGaetano and the late Edith DeGaetano, Cherished Grandfather of Tymaya Scott and Joaquim Souza and dear brother of Robert DeGaetano. Noel DeGaetano began his career as an assistant of sculptor Louise Nevelson and received a fellowship grant to pursue his art through the Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos, NM. DeGaetano was the long time director of the Noel Fine Art Gallery in Westchester and a well known visual artist who's work has been exhibited internationally and is part of many collections. Memorial visitation at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Main St., Eastchester on Thursday, August 30 from 7-9PM, and Friday, August 31 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. There will be a Memorial prayer service at 7:30 PM on Friday, including prayers, music, eulogy and sharing. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may donate in Noel's memory to either the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, PO Box 1891, Taos, NM 87571, or to the Harwood Museum of Art at the University of New Mexico, Attn: Juniper Manley, 238 Ledonix St., Taos, NM 87571.

Pamela Luedtke
1950 - 2012
Pamela Luedtke, passed away on December 29, 2012 at the age of 62. She was born on June 16, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Thomas and Grace (Kelly) Beggins. Pamela was a well established and respected legal secretary for Westchester County for over twenty years. She is survived by her son Kirk Luedtke, sisters Nancy D. Coco (John), Clarisse Scarry and a brother Paul Beggins (Caroline). Pamela is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was predeceased by a son Kyle Luedtke. Visitation will be held at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. Eastchester, on Thursday January3, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM. A funeral mass of the requiem will be held on Friday January 4, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe 10:15 AM. Interment to follow in Kensico cemetery Hawthorne, NY.

Dorothy Kettner
1922 - 2012
DOROTHY KETTNER, a life-long resident of Westchester County, born in Tuckahoe, NY to James and Stella (Sullivan) Gibbons on August 1, 1922. She was pre-deceased by her husband, George E. Kettner and her son, George M. Kettner, as well as her brothers: Jim, Bill (“Tot”) and Tom. She is survived by her three children: Hon. Susan Kettner, Deborah Kettner, Mark Kettner (Mary Beth), her daughter-in-law, Lucille Kettner and grandchildren, James and Kelly. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Smith of Elkhart, Indiana. A lifetime volunteer, while raising her family, Dorothy was an active volunteer: Scouting and Camp Fire Girls, as well as CCD instructor and Ladies Guild at Most Holy Trinity parish in Mamaroneck. She also volunteered for many years at the Children’s Room at the Mamaroneck Free Library. A competitive golfer until her late 80’s, Dorothy could be seen playing at Wykagyl Country Club, where she and her late husband maintained a long-time membership. An avid bridge player, Dorothy was also very involved in politics and played an active role in her daughter’s campaign for City judge, “manning” several shifts at every local supermarket as well as putting up lawn signs.“My mother was possessed with great strength and zest for life”, said her daughter Susan. “She brought courage and finally, acceptance to her final illness. Her life has been an inspiration to us all and we will miss her greatly.”Visiting at Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main Street, Eastchester on Wednesday, January 2nd from 2 to 4pm and7 to 9pm; funeral Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 53 Winter Hill Road, Tuckahoe, on Thursday, January 3rd at 10:30am, with interment immediately following at Holy Mount cemetery on California Road, Eastchester.

Theresa O'Brien
1920 - 2012
Theresa J. (DiLeo) O'Brien of Norwalk, CT and formerly of Eastchester, NY passed away on December 29, 2012 at the age of 92. She was born on April 16, 1920 in Eastchester, NY to the late John and Mary (Nardelli) DiLeo. Theresa worked for the Eastchester Board of Education for many years until her retirement.She was active in the Tuckahoe Senior Center as a member and President for many years before moving to Connecticut in 2009. She is survived by her daughter Mary Anne Obuchowski and her husband Gerald, a sister Anna DiLeo, grandchildren, Geraldine Toscano (Steven), Teresa Sclafani (Travis) and Daniel Obuchowski. Theresa is also survived by her great-grandchildren, John, Anthony, Nicholas, Victoria, Dominic and Adriana, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband James T. O'Brien in 1992 and many brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 4 to 7 PM at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, Inc. Eastchester, NY. A mass of requiem will be held on Thursday January 3, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Scarsdale, NY at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Mount cemetery Eastchester, NY.

Betty Jane Rosko

Betty Jane Toney Rosko of New Rochelle and long time resident of Chester Heights in Eastchester , died peacefully May 2, 2010 surrounded by her family. Betty was predeceased by her husband John who was the love of her life. They met while both of them were serving in the The United States Air Force. They were married February 2, 1952 in St. Catherine’s Church in Pelham NY. Proud Mother of Debbie Stanziale, Kim Rosko and Liz Diaz. Even prouder Grandma Mimi to Lauren and Lee Stanziale. Step grandmother to Larissa Diaz and Daryl Diaz. Great Grandmother to Zoe Fairclough. Devoted sister to Jim, Jerry and Chuck Toney and Beverly Lyon. Sister in laws Ann Marie Valentine and Joan Conklin. Predeceased by her brothers Bill and Jack. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Betty had worked as the Head Cashier at Lord and Taylor’s in Eastchester and McCrory’s variety store in New Rochelle. She and John had also owned Rosko Travel in New Rochelle. Betty was a long standing member of the Echo Bay Yacht Club and loved spending peaceful afternoons on the Rocking Chair porch or having cheese and crackers on the Umbrella Deck with her family and friends. She also enjoyed gathering with the Girls in the Community Room to chat or to play cards. Most recently she had become an avid Wii bowler, where she showed her true competitive nature. She will be truly missed by every heart she touched. Betty’s family will receive friends at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. Josephine Borrelli, 79, of Yorktown Heights, formerly a long time Eastchester resident, died May 4, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 23, 1930 to the late Alexander and Angela (D’Onofrio) Cecere in Mount Vernon, NY. Josephine was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for her husband’s service station.
Josephine is survived by her loving husband Joseph, her children; Gregory Borrelli and his wife Marie, Debbie Abbate and her husband Chris, Richard Borrelli and his wife Kathy, Mary Borrelli and her husband Greg Carpieniello and Doug Borrelli and his wife Jennifer ; her grandchildren Gregory, David, Trish, Nicholas and Paul; great-grandaughters Alexandra and Elyse. Also surviving is her brother Alex Cecere. Josephine was pr-deceased by her son Joseph S. Borrelli and 2 sisters Michelina Perrino and Jean Cecere.

The family will receive friends on Thursday morning May 6, 8:30am to 10:15am at WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME 190 Main St. Eastchester, NY. Mass of Christian burial at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe Thursday at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery, Valhalla, NY. John “Jack” Scally, 80, a resident of the Seabury Field Home, Cortlandt Manor, NY formerly of Spring Lake Heights, NJ died on May 5, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Margie”. Loving father of John T. Scally and his wife Bernadette, and Jerry Scally and his belated wife Bonnie. Dear brother of Mary Carley and the late James Scally , and Peggy Clinton. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Kevin, Anne, and John Brian Scally. He anticipated with joy the arrival of his first great grandchild. John proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Korean War. He was a vice president for the Plainfield 7-Up Bottling Co. in NJ. Burris, Wayne 74, of Crestwood, died on May 6, 2010. Beloved husband of Nancy Wolf Burris. Devoted father of Keri Mahoney and her husband Joseph, and Scott E. Burris and his wife Kristin. Dear brother of Michelle Kenerly. Cherished grandfather of Faith and Sean Mahoney, and Jacob and Addison Burris. Wayne was a harness driver and trainer at various tracks throughout the country. He was very committed to sports in Eastchester for many years. He was involved with the Eastchester Little League and coached the Eastchester Blue Devils for 21 years. He and Nancy were active members of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crestwood, where they were leaders of the Asburyites. The family will receive friends at WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, Inc., Eastchester on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Liucci, Joseph A. "Joe 49", died suddently on May 5, 2010. He was born on October 31, 1959. Adoring father of Sofia Rose and Joseph Pellegrino Liucci. Beloved son of Josephine (Carapella) Liucci and the late Bill Liucci. Loving brother of Bill (Dolores) Liucci, Andy (Susan) Liucci, and Barbara (Joe) Luciano. Dear Uncle of Joey (Linda) and Jimmy (Kim) Luciano, Billy Jr. and Dorie Liucci, Lorna and Alex Liucci. Great Uncle of Rocco and J.J. Luciano and Christina. Joe was a graduate of Eastchester High School. He attended Jacksonville State University on a baseball scholarship. Joe was a 20 year veteran of the Eastchester Fire Dept. Caroline A. Jones was taken to the Lord at 103 years old on May 10, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Arthur. Loving mother of Robert Jones and his wife Roslyn. Caroline was the last survivor of 9 siblings. During the Spanish Influenza of 1917, Caroline contracted the Spanish Influenza, and doctors advised that she wouldn’t survive. Caroline went on to live another 93 years. To the end her mind was very lucid and she enjoyed watching Yankee baseball games, playing Jeopardy, and reading. She was born in the Bronx on January 15, 1907 to William and Amelia Brown. Her family moved to Yonkers in 1987. The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER, Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9PM, and Thursday 2-4pm ONLY. A funeral service will be held on Friday May 14th at 10AM at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4360 Theodore Wittrock Crossing, Bronx, NY. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum. Rev. Dr. Alan G. R. Steinberg

The Rev. Dr. Alan G. R. Steinberg, 82, of Ossining, died on May 16, 2010. Loving father of Virginia A. Steinberg (David J. Leaver), and Paul W. Steinberg. Cherished grandfather of Taylor Alan and Devon Rose Leaver.
Rev. Steinberg received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Concordia University in Illinois, a Masters Degree in History from Columbia University, a Masters of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary in Indiana and a Doctorate in European History from St. John’s University. He received a Fulbright Research Scholarship to study in Greece. In 1985, he presented a paper at Yale’s Graduate Club on the confrontation between Martin Luther and Thomas More. In 1997 he accepted an invitation to participate in an international symposium on British History at the University of Paris, where he lectured at the Sorbonne. He has done research in Reformation studies as a Scholar-in-Residence at St. Deiniol’s Residential Library in Wales. In 2006, he joined scholars from the UK and France in a symposium at Yale University on European thought and writing during the era of the Reformation. He taught in Lutheran schools in New York and Pittsburgh, as a professor of History and Chairman of the History Department at Concordia College in Bronxville. He served as the Pastor at St. Matthew’s in Hastings, Immanuel in Mt. Vernon, Bethany in Yonkers, St. Mark’s in Yonkers, and Trinity in Hawthorne, and many other churches in Westchester. He is likely the oldest minister to be ordained by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, which occurred in 1999 at the age of 71. Most recently in April, he gave his granddaughter her first communion.

The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER, Thursday 4-7:30pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday May 21st at 10AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 292 Elwood Ave, Hawthorne, NY. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod World Mission, 1333 South Kirkwood Rd, St. Louis, MO 63122.
