Alphonse Al Salerno

July 24, 1935 - February 3, 2010

Salerno, Alphonse (Al), 74, of White Plains, NY died after a courageous battle with cancer.
A graduate of Oswego State University and City College of New York; he served in the US Army for two years. Al taught high school in California and New Rochelle before opening Salerno’s Coach House Restaurant. Since retiring in 2005, Al’s passion has been golf.

Al is survived by wife, Jennie, son, Scott of Brooklyn and brothers, Edward of Bronxville, George of Eastchester.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 7th, 1 – 2:30 at Westchester Funeral Home at 190 Main Street in Eastchester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY.

Rocco Lalla

November 3, 1958 - February 5, 2010

Rocco L Lalla, 51, of New Fairfield, CT died suddenly on February 5, 2010. Beloved husband of Sharon Davis Lalla. Loving father of Cara and her husband Bruno Gomes, Michael, Christa, David, Daniel, Rachael, and Rocco Jr. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Lalla, Ava and Adalina Gomes. Beloved brother of Marion Luppy, Terry Couto, and Joanne Conway. Rocco was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service from 1986-2007. He was a member of the Westchester and mid-Husdon Orchid Societies. The family will receive friends at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. Sunday 5-9PM and Monday 2-4 & 7-9PM. Service at the funeral home Tuesday February 9th at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Karissa J. Kumpan, 22, of Eastchester, died on February 6, 2010. Beloved daughter of Christine and Frank E. Kumpan. Cherished sister of Ariana and Frankie. Loving niece of Pat and Stephen Gill, Rosa and Frank Reindl, Evelyn and John Marciano, Joe Kumpan, Carole and Anthony Cutignola, Lori and Al Pestone, Suzanne and Pat Losey, Lisa and Tony Lorenzo, and Eileen Damore. Dear cousin of Kristin G., John M., Christopher M., Jeannine C., Michelle D., Chrissy D., Christina R., Lisa P., Chrissy P., Joey P., and the late Chucky G. The family wishes to recognize a wonderful person, Jon Holub. Karissa was a student at Westchester Community College. She was the Pool Director at the Huguenot Yacht Club. Karissa was a cheerleader at Eastchester High School and an accomplished gymnast. The family will receive friends on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, Inc., Eastchester. Matturro, Mickey (Margaret) – Born October 14, 1926 in Bronx, NY to Thomas and Mary (Scafuta) Milo. She was the dedicated and loving wife of the late Vincent Matturro. Beloved mother of Joseph (Angela) Matturro; Maria (Billy) Bottiglieri. Tomianne (Michael) Maggio; adoring and devoted grandmother (Mima) to her eight cherished grandchildren Mathy (Barry) Terrill; Vincent (Bree) Matturro; Billy (Samantha) Bottiglieri, Mickie Bottiglieri, Michael Bottiglieri, Melissa Bottiglieri, Vincent and Christopher Maggio; loving Great Grandma to Grady J. Matturro. She is also survived by many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mickey touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her loving and generous ways and her loyalty and devotion to her family and friends. Her hobby was spending time with her grandchildren. Her radiant smile illuminated the room. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. To know her was to love her. Loving father of Victoria Schell, John, Penelope, and James Margeotes. Cherished grandfather of five. Dear brother of Steve and Nicholas Margeotes, and the late Peter and Arthur Margeotes, and Helen D’Ascoli. John served in the US Marine Corps, Third Marine Division, in the South Pacific during WWII. Cherished grandfather of Leonard (Pamela) Trapane, Richard (Renee) Trapane, John (Kelly) Trapane, Richard (Deborah) Morrissey, April Schaile and Ember Schaile, and 10 great grandchildren. Gustave was predeceased by his parents Ferdinand and Anna Bauer, and his sister Anneliese Kutsack. He was loved by all and he was a kind and gentle man. William P. Forcello, 82, of Tuckahoe died suddenly on March 7, 2010. He was born in Tuckahoe on February 15, 1928 to the late Dominick and Anna (Mazzochetti) Forcello. He is survived by his children Dominick (Marybeth), Rosanne (Joe) Cirasella, Patrick (Denise) and Linda Forcello. Dear brother of Adele (the late Danny) Cerrone, Edith (Jack) Keon, Albert (Josephine) Forcello, and the late Carmine, John, and Ernest (his wife Louise survives). He will be missed by his grandchildren Cassie, Steven and David Forcello, Joseph and Justin Cirasella, Nicholas and William Forcello and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a WWII vet who served in occupied Japan. He was a retired stone mason who loved to work in his garden, and was a proud member of the Depot Square Benchmen. Cono “Nick” Giardina, a longtime resident of Eastchester, NY, passed away on March 16 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Nick was born to Rosaria and Ignazio Giardina. He is survived by partner Pat, sons Paul and Jon, grandsons Nick, Chris and Jonathan and siblings Bill and Josephine. Predeceased by his wife Marie and loving daughter Cara. Nick spent his career with JP Morgan working a variety of roles for 40 years before his retirement. He was very well known and respected for his involvement with MADD, where he lobbied for laws regarding drinking and driving. Nick loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting, investing, gardening and trips to Atlantic City and the Shore. Nick brought love and joy to all who surrounded him. He was a bright spirit with a huge heart. Everyday people were inspired by Nick’s outlook, positive attitude on life and genuineness. His kindness towards others will always be remembered. Nick lived his life with grace and dignity as he did in his passing. Nick was the adored patriarch of a large and extended family. Nick’s memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Visitation will be at WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 190 Main St, Eastchester on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Eulogy at 8:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, 53 Winterhill Rd, Tuckahoe at 10:30 am. Donations can be made to MADD or The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Loving mother of Jo-Ann (John) Rodriguez, Debra (Chris) Young and Christopher Finning. Dear sibling of Maureen Main, Arthur, John and Michael McConville. Cherished grandmother of John, James and Ethan. Susan retired in June 2009 after 20 years as an Executive Secretary with the New York Power Authority. She enjoyed the countless times shared with her many friends, especially dining and dancing on Saturday nights. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, NY at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House of NY, 405 East 73rd Street, New York, NY 10021 in her name.
