James A. Matranga, age 84, died on April 12, 2010. Uncle of Donna and Edmond DelMonte, and Debra Barbieri. Grand Uncle of Francesca and Felicia DelMonte, Samantha Mancini, Robert and Dana Barbieri. Son of the late Alice and Frank Matranga. Brother of the late Frances (Dolly) Mancini and Katherine Flynn. He was an operator for the Otis Elevator Co. and he was a Eucharistic minister at the Immaculate Conception St. Mary’s Church. Visitation at WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., Eastchester on Wednesday, April 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception St. Mary’s Church, 103 South Broadway, Yonkers. Cremation to follow at Ferncliff Crematory. Interment of ashes at St. Joseph’s cemetery at a later date.

Helen Beres, 94 died Saturday April 17, 2010 in Rye Brook. Helen was born in Lilly, Pennsylvania to the late Vincent and Mary (Kozak) Vendrzyk on March 15, 1916. She married
Joseph Beres and worked as a domestic in the Queens area of New York.
Helen is survived by her grandchildren; Valerie Waldmann, Michael Murray, Timothy Murray, and Veronica Stinga and her great-grandchildren; Karen, Courtney, Jennifer, Sean, Ryan, Caitlin and Kylie. Also surviving are her siblings; Elsie Vendrzyk, Wanda Thomas, Carolyn Edwards, Barbara Wallace, Vincent and Chester. Besides her husband Joseph, Helen was predeceased by her daughter Valaria Murray, her grandson Kenneth Murray and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services and burial will take place in Lilly, Pennsylvania.

Cliff E. Denney on Feb. 16, 1945 in the Bronx, N.Y. Cliff preceeded her in death on April 4th, 1978. They had one daughter Barbara Bowen and her husband Graham of Memphis, Texas, 2 grandsons Cliff and his wife Sheridan of Boerne and their daughters Madison Jo and Balie Jean; Denney and his wife Melissa of Jourdanton, Texas. Josephine went home to be with the Lord on April 19th in Amarillo, Texas. The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
