William J. Eddinger Sr.
MANCHESTER - William J. Eddinger Sr., 79, a lifelong resident of Manchester, died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at F.F. Thompson Hospital.
Friends called Tuesday, June 3 at the Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home in Manchester. A Funeral Mass was Wednesday, June 4 at St. Dominic Church in Shortsville.
Donations in William's memory may be made to St. Dominic's Church Memorial Fund or to the Citizens Hose Ambulance Co.
William was born April 10, 1924, in Clifton Springs, the son of William and Mary Eddinger. He and his beloved wife, Helen Fish, both 1941 graduates of Manchester High School, were married
when he was in the Army Air Force. In World War II, he flew 31 combat missions with the 8th Air Force over Europe. He attended RIT after the war. In the '50s and '60s, he worked at the East Rochester Car Shops and later worked at Kordite and Mobil Chemical in Macedon. Bill also worked as a building contractor in the Manchester area, building many additions and several houses. He served on the Red Jacket School Board, was a member of Shortsville American Legion Turner Schrader Post 34, and was a past member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus. Bill was very helpful in many of his son's election campaigns and served as the families backup transportation system. Bill and Helen went on many trips with friends over many years. Following the loss of his wife, Helen in June 1988, he stayed very involved with his family and spent much time working on this favorite hobby, tending to the ponds and woods on the farmland that he owned.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynne (Dick Whitney) Sinack of Shortsville; two sons, William (Betty Jo) Eddinger Jr. and Paul (Ginnie) Eddinger, both of Shortsville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen; and his brother, Clyde.
Kenneth V. Haubner
WATERLOO - Kenneth V. Haubner, 95, of 36 N. Walnut St., died Sunday morning, June 1, 2003 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Canandaigua.
Calling hours were not observed. Private service and interment will be in Mount Green cemetery in Romulus.
Kenneth was born May 25, 1908, in Clifton Springs, but spent most of his life in Waterloo. He was the son of George and Bertha Bennam Haubner. He retired from Goulds Pumps after several years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo. He was also an avid golfer in the area and a veteran of the Navy.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Rose Haubner of Phelps and Zoyla Haubner of New Jersey; and close friend, Marcia Stamp.
He was predeceased by his wife, Annabelle Rundell Haubner in 1996; two brothers, Robert and Clarence; and a sister, Esther Haubner.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home in Seneca Falls.
Tina DeSalvatore
NEWARK - Tina DeSalvatore, 37, formerly of Rochester, died peacefully Thursday, June 12, 2003 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Family and friends called Friday, June 13 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home Inc., in Newark. A funeral service was Saturday, June 14 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stephen Battista officiating. Burial followed at Lock Berlin cemetery in the town of Galen.

Tina was born Oct. 8, 1965, in Pittsford, the daughter of David DeSalvatore and Bessie Mahar. She had worked for IEC Electronics in Newark for several years and most recently at Perkin Elmer in Phelps. Tina enjoyed playing bingo in Port Gibson and Marbletown every Friday and Saturday. She had been an avid Buffalo Bills fan for many years.
Tina will be missed by her friend and companion, Charles Verstreate, of Newark; a son, David Streber; daughters, Kelly Streber and Amber Verstreate; mother, Bessie Mahar of Newark; brother, David (Sue) Proulx Jr. of Rochester; sister, Christine (James) Perry of Newark; stepfather, David Proulx Sr., and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Tina was predeceased by her father, David DeSalvatore.
Eugene J. Guerrie
GENEVA - Eugene J. Guerrie, 65, of 126 Bennett St., passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003 in the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends called Friday, June 13 at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home. Members of the American Legion Winnek Post 396 met Friday at 7pm at the funeral home for a prayer service. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, June 14 at St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Sharron Guerrie; his daughter, Debra Friga of Rochester; his son, Eugene "Skip" (Heidi) Guerrie of Manchester; four grandchildren, Kellie Friga, Bryce Guerrie, Brynne Guerrie and Sabrina Guerrie; two sisters, Eunice McCarthy of Rochester and Kathleen (David) Heatherly of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Basil (Carmella) Guerrie of Geneva and Richard (Gloria) Guerrie of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Guerrie.
Lee E. Lannon
NEWARK - Lee E. Lannon, 63, of Tellier Road, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at Rochester General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Friends called Wednesday, June 11 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home in Newark. Funeral services were Thursday, June 12 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Burial followed in Riverview cemetery in Clifton Springs.

Mr. Lannon was born June 25, 1939, in Clifton Springs, the son of Leon and Mary Thompson Lannon. He graduated in 1957 from Clifton Springs High School and was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Clifton Springs. A lifelong farmer, he owned and operated Lanlee Farms in Newark for 40 years, and for the past several years had worked at Willowbend Farms in Clifton Springs. He was a past delegate to Upstate Farms and a member of numerous farm organizations. Lee was the president of the Arcadia Hose Co. and treasurer of the Newark Fire Department. He was past chief of the East Palmyra Fire Department and a member of the Wayne County Fire Chief Association. An avid Yankees fan, Lee enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, and being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol Trickey Lannon; two sons, Lee Jr. (Amy) and Bob (Dawn); and five grandchildren, Tim, Erica, Tommy, Matthew, and Andrew, all of Newark.
Larry Tyler
SHORTSVILLE - Larry Tyler, 75, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Clifton Springs Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Friends called Wednesday, June 11 at the Kennedy & Son Funeral Home in Canandaigua. A funeral service was Thursday, June 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Contributions in Larry's memory may be made to the Ontario County Humane Society.
Larry was born June 12, 1929, the son of the late Herbert J. and Marie Hadsell Tyler. A member of the Canandaigua Academy Class of 1947, Larry went on to obtain his associate in applied science degree in mechanical engineering as a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. He served with the Air Force from 1950 to 1954, during the Korean conflict, and was a long time member of the American Legion Post 34 in Shortsville.
He is survived by his wife, Olympia "Ollie" Tyler of Shortsville; his son, Larry (Margaret "Peggy") Tyler II; grandsons, Michael and Mark Tyler; step-grandchildren, Michael, Christina and Julie Orth; a great-grandson, Alexander Michael Tyler; his brother, Dennis Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Graydon Tyler.
Stella G. Corneles
WATERLOO - Mrs. Stella G. Corneles, of 1909 Mills Road, died Monday, June 16, 2003 in Geneva General Hospital.
In keeping with Stella's wishes there were no calling hours. The funeral service was held Thursday, June 19 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo. The Rev. Eugene Weis, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery in Phelps, with the Rev. Edward Dillon of St. Felix/St. Francis Parish of Phelps, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Education Fund.
Stella was born in Superior, Wis., the daughter of Stanley and Frances Kowalcik Pesarek. Stella graduated from DeSales High School in Geneva and has been a resident of Waterloo since 1958. She was involved with Corneles Real Estate for 18 years, and developed the Corneles Sub-division on Mills Road. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Waterloo. she was involved with the Waterloo Seniors and Seneca Seniors, and the Phelps Golden Agers.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis (Sharon) Corneles and Henry Corneles, both of Rochester, and Michael Corneles of San Leandro, Calif.; one daughter, Kathleen (Roy) Rossignol of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth F. Corneles, Oct. 10, 1990.
Arrangements were by the Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo.
RONALD W. RAES, SR.
PHELPS - Ronald W. Raes, St., 56, died Wednesday (July 2, 2003) at the Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic.
Friends called from 7:00-9:00PM on July 3 and from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on July 4 at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main St. in Phelps, followed by funeral services at 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery in Phelps.
Mr. Raes was born Aug. 7, 1946 in Geneva, the son of the late Emerick Peter and Edna Pearl Emerson Raes.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth Raes; children, Ronald (Pamela) Raes, Jr., of Phelps, Emerick P. (Suzie) Raes of Phelps, Susan Raes of Phelps, Lucas Raes and finance' Amy Van Houte of Phelps; grandchildren: Ronald Raes III, Hammond Raes, Claire Louise Raes and Matthew Raes; two brothers, Emerick L. Raes of Phelps of Phelps and John (Melissa) Raes of Phelps; sister, Linda (Larry) Williamson of Palmyra; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
SYLVIA R. McKOWN
PHELPS - Sylvia R. McKown, 67, of Clifton Street, Phelps, passed away Friday (June 27, 2003) at the House of John in Clifton Springs, surrounded by her loving family.
There were no prior calling hours per her wishes. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 1 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 151 Genesee St. in Geneva. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery in Phelps..
Friends may contribute to St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sylvia's memory.
Sylvia was born April 27, 1936 in Geneva, the daughter of Edward and Marjorie Roberts. She had lived in the Phelps area for over 60 years.
Sylvia was a member of St. Peter's Episopal Church and was employed by the Ontario County Department of Social Services as a senior clerk typist.
She is survived by her children, Marjorie McKown of Oaks Corners, Michael McKown of Phelps and Matthew McKown of Clifton Springs; their father, Paul McKown of Clifton Springs; four grandchildren, Craig, Mallory, Paul and Holly; brothers, Ronald (Mary) Roberts of Connecticut, Lawrence Roberts of Shortsville and Herbert Roberts of Clifton Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Eacker Funeral Hoe, 47 Main St. in Phelps.
ROBERT L. DENNIS
PHELPS - Robert L. Dennis, 71, of 14 Franklin St., died Friday (Jun 27, 2003) at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Friends called on Monday (June 30) from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main St. in Phelps. Funeral services were Tuesday (July 1) at 11 AM in the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Interment will be in the Resthaven cemetery in Phelps with full military honors.
Contributions may be made to the Phelps Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Fund or to Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-emption Road, Geneva, 14456.
Mr. Dennis was born Feb. 21, 1932, in Macedon, the son of August and Mary Hotel Dennis. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and was a member of the Phelps American Legion.
Mr. Dennis was the president of the Wayne Drumlins Antique Auto Region AACA. He was also a member of the Phelps Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years. Prior to working on his own, as a contractor-carpenter, Mr. Dennis worked for Bud Nayaert.
He is survived by his wife, Vi Dennis; with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 28, 2003; two daughters, Vicki (Stephen Hicks) Dennis of Phelps and Robin (Randy) Dennis-Scott of Phelps; granddaughters, Korrin and Stevi Hicks of Palmyra; two brothers, Hank and Herbert Dennis; an uncle, Edward (Shirley) Hotel of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and William Dennis.
