Katherine Robbins

PHELPS - Katherine Robbins, 89, of 34 Main St., died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003 at the Geneva General Hospital.
There were no prior calling hours. Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Bellona cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Phelps Volunteer Fire Department, 7 Exchange St., Phelps, 14532 or to the United Church of Phelps, 58 Main St., Phelps, 14532.
Mrs. Robbins was born Jan. 31, 1914, in Benton, the daughter of Robert and Julia Platman. She married Earl Robbins in 1954 and lived in Penn Yan, where they resided until Earl's death in 1971. She moved to Phelps in 1971, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Frederick Clise, until her death.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Frederick) Clise; stepson, Robert (Helen) Robbins of California; grandchildren, Paul (Mary) Clise of Geneva, Julie (Vincent) Rozella of Batavia and Erick Clise of Phelps; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl; and sister, Alice Anderson of Penn Yan.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps.

Rudy Trick

CLIFTON SPRINGS - Rudy Trick, 61, of 272 Pennels Drive, Rochester, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at Rochester General Hospital.
There were no prior calling hours. A memorial service to celebrate his life was held Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Spa Apartments Solarium, 11 E. Main St. in Clifton Springs.
Memorial contributions may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, 14432 or the American Cancer Society.
Rudy was born in New York City and grew up in Clifton Springs. He graduated from Clifton Springs High School and retired from Eastman Kodak Co.
He is survived by his two brothers, Frank (Carol) Trick of Clifton Springs and Russell (Karen) Williamson of Clifton Springs; sister, Marie (Donald) Bowe of Summerville, S.C.; and a niece and nephews.

Dawn Kathleen Dwyer Hansel Wirzburger

CLYDE/AUGUSTA - Dawn Kathleen Dwyer Hansel Wirzburger, 66, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
A garden memorial service was Sunday, Sept. 14 at her home in Augusta.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Red Cloud Indian School, 100 Mission Drive, Pine Ridge, SD 57770.
Dawn was born May 25, 1937, in Syracuse, the daughter of James Edward and Elisabeth Diederichs Dwyer. She supported her husband's career by working with Army family support groups throughout her husband's military service. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1954 and State University College at New Paltz in 1974. She was loved by all and touched many lives with her great creativity.
She is survived by her loving husband, Staff Sgt. Daniel M. Wirzburger Jr.; two daughters, Kimberly Geiger of High Falls and Tracey Wirzburger of Ringwood, NJ; a sister, Patricia Castellano of Clifton Springs; an aunt, Alta Alligood of Jordan; in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wirzburger Sr. of Maine; four granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, James Edward and Elisabeth Diederichs Dwyer.

Arlene E. Foss

PHELPS - Arlene E. Foss, 84, formerly of Phelps, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends called Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Eacker Funeral Home in Phelps. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday, Sept. 24 at St. Francis Church in Phelps. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery.
Friends may contribute to Arlene's memory to the Phelps Ambulance Fund.
Arlene was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Clifton Springs, and had lived in the area all her life. She was a member of St. Francis Church and had worked part-time for the Phelps-Clifton Springs School District.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Colarocco, of Geneva; son, Joseph Foss of Geneva; one grandson; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Erma Milliman of Waterloo.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, in 1997; her sister, Louise; and brothers, Peter and Charles.

"Bud" William D. Milliman

GENEVA - 'Bud" William D. Milliman, 60, of 18 Madison St., passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 at his home, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
Friends called Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the McGuigan Funeral Home. Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 25 at The Presbyterian Church in Geneva. 14456.
Bud was born May 10, 1943, in Clifton Springs, the son of Erma VanHooft Milliman and the late William A. Milliman. He was a sales executive for the "Finger Lakes Times" until his illness. He was an avid sports fan, including many years of playing softball and most recently coaching Geneva Little League.
He is survived by his beloved companion of 20 years, Donna Jones Volker; his mother, Erma Milliman; a daughter, Kimberly (David) Milliman Smith of Phelps; a son, Christopher (Roseann) Milliman of Cazenovia; five grandchildren, Zachary and Meghan Clicquennoi, Tyler Smith, and Katie and Matthew Milliman; a brother, Bruce (Colleen) Milliman of Irondequoit; his extended family, Kym (George) Volker Ferrell of Geneva, Laura (Dennis) Volker Bradley of Geneva, Marci (Chris) Volker Keear of Geneva, Joshua, Elizabeth and Callie Ferrell, Shelby and Savannah Bradley, and Justin, Tyler and Brandon Keear; several cousins; and many close and caring friends.

George F. Kelley Sr.

SENECA FALLS - George F. Kelley Sr., 86, of 75 E. Bayard St., died Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at his residence after a short illness.
Friends called Friday, Oct. 3 at the Doran Funeral Home in Seneca Falls. The Seneca Falls Honor Guard conducted military honors on Friday evening at the funeral home. Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 4 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Patrick's Church by the Rev. William Laird, pastor. Burial was in St. Columbkille cemetery in Seneca Falls.
Contributions may be made to Genesee Region Home Care Hospice, 513 W. Union St., Newark, 14513.
George was born July 10, 1917, in Seneca Falls, the son of the late Bernard and Anna Magill Kelley. He was a Navy veteran serving at the former Sampson Naval Base from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. He was employed by the former American Can Co. of Geneva as a machinist and inspector, retiring in 1983 after 36 years of service. He also served as president of IAM Local 1838 during the 1970s. He was also employed for many years by the former Crayton and Fays Drug companies. He had served as 4th Ward trustee in the early 1960s. George was a member of the Kirk-Casey American Legion Post 366 of Seneca Falls and was an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by one daughter, Suzanne (Michael) Clark of Dallas; four sons, Michael (Debbie) Kelley of Waterloo, Kevin (Stephanie) Kelley of Clifton Springs, George (Debbie) Kelley Jr. of Mooresville, N.C., and Rory (Barbara) Kelley of Seneca Falls; nine grandchildren, Alexander Kelley, Michelle Dyson, Scott Kline, Scott, Jay and Austin Kelley, and Tanya, Keli and Christopher Lent; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, William Kelley of Seneca Falls; brother-in-law, John Clary of Seneca Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lucienne Clary Kelley, who died Oct. 9, 1994; one sister, Dorothy Clary; and four brothers, Harry, John, James and Lewis Kelley.

Donald G. McCaig

CANANDAIGUA - Donald G. McCaig, 66, of Bristol Street, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2003 at his home.
Friends called Thursday, Oct. 2 at the John C. Johnson Funeral Home in Canandaigua. The family also received friends Thursday evening at the First Congregational Church in Canandaigua. His funeral service followed at the funeral home.
In his memory, make someone happy or make someone laugh.
Mr. McCaig was born in Canandaigua and grew up in Hall. He graduated from Geneva High School, Class of 1955. He attended the Chicago Technical School. Mr. McCaig was retired from A.V. Towner Construction Co. in Scottsville. He was a member of the Construction Workers Union Local 832 in Rochester and the Canandaigua Elks Club. Mr. McCaig was employed as a bus driver for CATS.
He is survived by his daughter, Darolyn (Timothy) Fischer, of Clifton Springs; two granddaughters, Melissa and Marie Fischer; his sister, Karen (Jack) Snow of Penn Yan; his brother, Robert McCaig, of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and his dear friends, Grace Groot and Elaine McCaig.

Virginia E. Fisher

PHELPS - Virginia E. Fisher, 81, of Fisher Road, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 at Clifton Springs Hospital.
Friends called Monday, Oct. 6 at the Eacker Funeral Home in Phelps. Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ellen Donnan Carol officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Oaks Corners Presbyterian Church or the Phelps Fire Department Ambulance Fund.
Virginia was born May 29, 1922, the daughter of Howard and Hettie Steele, and lived in the area all her life. She had worked for Whitson Pharmacy in Phelps for more than 30 years.
Virginia was an avid euchre player and a former member of the Oaks Corners Grange.
She is survived by her sons, Duane Fisher of Phelps, Gerald (Sandra) Fisher of Phelps, Kent (Linda) Fisher of Colorado, Arlo (Anita) Fisher of Phelps, Bruce Fisher of Wyoming, Glenn (Cathy) Fisher of Phelps and William (Judi) Fisher of Phelps; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hilda Dimick of Phelps; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, E. Dever in 1975.

Gladys E. Hall

PALMYRA - Gladys E. Hall, of 200 Canal St., passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 at Clifton Springs Hospital.
Following her wishes, there were no calling hours. A private funeral service to celebrate Gladys' life will be at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs, with the Rev. Albert Kamm officiating.
Contributions in Gladys' memory may be made to the Palmyra Volunteer Ambulance or the American Heart Association.
Gladys was born in East Smithfield, Pa., the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Hall. She was a graduate of Clifton Springs High School and was a retired legal secretary for Alfred J. Diamonda. Gladys enjoyed the company of her many dear friends and family.
Gladys is survived by her sisters, Helen Chapman of Perry, Eloise Feiock of Palmyra and Pearl Smith of Palmyra; brothers, Ralph Hall of Palmyra and Alva Hall of Phelps; and several nieces and nephews.

Roland J. LaPage Sr.

CLIFTON SPRINGS - Roland J. LaPage Sr., 60, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003 at Clifton Springs Hospital after a long illness.
Friends attended a memorial service on Friday, Oct. 10 at the Spa Apartments Chapel. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Riverview cemetery.
Contributions in Roland's memory may be made to he Spa Apartments Activity Fund.
Roland was born May 26, 1943, in Malone, and grew up in Potsdam. He was a graduate of the Batavia School of the Blind and a resident of the Spa Apartments for 18 years. Roland delivered the "Finger Lakes Times", "Daily Messenger", and the "Democrat and Chronicle" to the residents at the Spa Apartments for more than 12 years. He enjoyed entertaining his family and friends by playing his guitar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Beverly; two sons, Roland Jr. of Clifton Springs and Byron of Michigan; granddaughter, Rebecca Lynne; and many dear friends.

Harold O. Milliman

GENEVA - Harold O. Milliman, 96, of 396 Hamilton St., died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003 unexpectedly at his home.
There were no prior calling hours. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, with the Rev. W. James Gerling officiating. Burial will be in Newark cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Contributions in his name may be made to the Geneva Fire Department or to an organization of one's choice.
Harold was born in Geneva, the son of Bert and Cora Arnold Milliman. He married the late Arline Frey and had two children. He was a carpenter in the area since 1923, and had been the oldest living member of the Carpenters Union Local 187. Harold was also a member of the Presbyterian Church in Geneva.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Jean Middleton, of Warner-Robins, Ga.; one son, John (Minerva) Milliman of Phelps; three grandchildren, Marvin (Linda) Middleton Jr. and James (Terri) Middleton, both of Warner-Robins, Ga., and Derrick Milliman of Ocean City, Md.; and three great-grandchildren, Wendy (Kevin) Lashley, and Christine and Megan Middleton, all of Warner-Robins, Ga.
He was predeceased by his wife, Arlene Frey; son-in-law, Marvin Middleton Sr.; granddaughter, Patti Middleton; and sister Ruth Hess.
