Barbara Dyson-Arnitz
NEWARK/CATO - Barbara Dyson-Arnitz, 61, of Slayton Rd in Cato, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse after a battle with cancer.
Friends called Sunday, Jan. 18 at the Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home in Newark. A memorial Mass was held Monday, Jan. 19 at St. Michael's Church in Newark.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1595 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, 14620.
Barbara was born May 20, 1942 in Clifton Springs, the daughter of Fred and Lucille Wiebeld Dyson. She was retired from New York Telephone, now Verizon, where she worked for 28 years as a representative. She loved to cook, do crafts and grow flower gardens.
She will be missed by her loving husband, Peter A. Arnitz; two daughters, Vikki (Michael Rowland) Quagliarello of Cicero, and Teri (Chris) Takamura of Maui, Hawaii; two stepchildren, James (Chris) Arnitz of Clyde and Lynda (Kevin) Quinn of Watertown; a sister, Mary (Ed) Miner of Victor; three grandchildren, Jason Takamura of Maui, Hawaii; and Michael and Alecia Arnitz of Clyde; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Lucille Wiebeld Dyson; and a grandmother, Mary Wiebeld.
Clementine Elizabeth Fabrizi
CLIFTON SPRINGS - Clementine Elizabeth Fabrizi, 94, passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004.
There were no prior calling hours. A memorial Mass to celebrate her life was held Saturday, Jan. 24 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Clifton Springs.

Clem served in the military during World War II. She was very active in numerous church and community activities. Until her retirement, Clem ran Fabrizi's General Store in Orleans.
She is survived by her brother, Frank Fabrizi; nieces, Mary Jo (Kevin) Albert, Marie (Mike) Lutz and Roseanne (Joe) Duschl; nephews, Gregory Liss, Paul (Debbie) Warmuth and John Warmuth; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; and four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, John Fabrizi; and three sisters, Edith Fabrizi, Irene Liss and Josephine Warmuth.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs.
William L. Landschoot
CLIFTON SPRINGS - William L. Landschoot, 66, of 40 Pleasant St., passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 at Clifton Springs Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Friends called Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Jan. 19 at St. Felix Church, with the Rev. Edward Dillon celebrating. Interment will bein St. Agnes cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Bill was born Dec. 11, 1937, in Clifton Springs, the son of the late August and Evelyn Landschoot and had lived in the area all of his life. He was a graduate of Clifton Springs High School in 1955 and served in the Navy from 1955 to 1959. He retired from the Clifton Springs Post Office after 39 years of service, where he served as postmaster from 1983 to 1997.
Bill was a member of the board of education for 15 years and was a volunteer for the Clifton Springs Fire Department. He was also a member of the Jay Cees and past member of the board of directors of the YMCA.
Bill enjoyed restoring antique cars, golfing, fine arts, and the restoration of antiques. He was the happiest when surrounded by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jean; son, Mark (Sandra) Landschoot of Clemmons, N.C.; daughter, Cheri (Mark) Gangarossa of Clifton Springs; grandchildren, Bradley and Lori Landschoot and Nathan and Alexis Gangarossa; brothers, Pete Landschoot and August Landschoot Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Mary S. Liberati
MANCHESTER - Mary S. Liberati, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at Clifton Springs Continuing Care Center.
Friends called Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home in Manchester. A funeral Mass was Wednesday, Jan. 21 at St. Dominic Church in Shortsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Dominic Church Memorial Fund.
Mary was born July 5, 1917, in Manchester, the daughter of Nicholas and Ruth Sementelli. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester. She retired from Sarah Coventry of Newark in 1976. She was a lifetime member of St. Dominic Church.
She is survived by two sons, Alfred J. (Dorothy Ann) Liberati and Louis (Joanne) Liberati, both of Manchester; one brother, Thomas (Louise) Sementelli of Geneva; one aunt, Theresa Chambers of Rochester; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Liberati, in 2003.
Earleen Rickman
TUCSON, Ariz. - Earleen Rickman died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church.
Earleen was born May 9, 1942, in Adams Center and lived in Clifton Springs for many years before moving to Arizona.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Ryan) Scudder; her son, Danny (Tiffany) Rickman; five grandchildren; and her brothers, Ralph and Wayne Cook.
Robert William Henry Merithew
PHELPS/HOPEWELL, Va. - Robert William Henry Merithew, 65, formerly of Phelps, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004 at the John Randolph Medical Center in Richmond, Va.
He is survived by his sons, William of Richmond, Va.; and Carl of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Debbie of New Hampshire; two sisters, Pat Hulster of Phelps and Wilman Holtz of Shortsville; three brothers, Fred Merithew of North Carolina, Leon Merithew of Canandaigua and Gary Merithew of Rochester; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Sheila.
Arrangements were by the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps.
Raymond H. Schroeder
PHELPS - Mr. Raymond H. Schroeder, 71, of 1056 McIvor Road, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, surrounded by his loving family, in his home.
Friends called Thursday, Jan. 29 at the Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service was Friday, Jan. 30 at the Calvary Lutheran Church of Waterloo. The Rev. William Dorow Jr., pastor, officiated. Spring interment will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Phelps.

Ray was born March 7, 1932, in Elmira, the son of Raymond W. and Henrietta Ladd Schroeder. He was a 1951 graduate of Waterloo High School. He began working with the Seneca Falls Machine Co. as an apprentice through a state apprenticeship program for mechanical drafting, and then continued to work for many years at the company before leaving and then being employed at Garlock Inc. in Palmyra for several years.
He also worked at Mobil Chemical Co. in Macedon until his retirement after 28 years in 1992. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and also a former member of the Phelps Fire Department. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, and loved gardening, especially taking care of his roses and vegetable gardens. His most precious love was his family.
He is survived by his wife, Viona "Vi" S. Schroeder, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 24, 2003; one son, William "Bill" (Deborah) Schroeder of Geneva; two daughters, Nancy (Gregg) Crume of Canandaigua and Patcy Wheeler of Phelps; three granddaughters, Raevin Barbarah Wheeler of Phelps, Brinncin Amolia Wheeler of Phelps and Gretta Rae Crume of Canandaigua; two nieces, Kay (Rick) Scott of Seneca Falls and Susan (Robert) Pagano of Baldwinsville; two great-nephews; and one great-niece.
He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur; and Arthur's wife, Lorraine.
James F. Potter
NEWARK - James Francis Potter, 58, of Forest Country Trailer Park died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004 at Newark-Wayne Community H hospital.
Family and friends called on Thursday, Jan. 29 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home in Newark, where the American Legion also held a prayer service. The funeral was held Friday, Jan. 30 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Woudenberg officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn cemetery in Canandaigua.

Jim was born Dec. 17, 1945 in Clifton Springs, the son of the late James and Beatrice Preston Potter. He was employed at Tyco Corp. in Macedon for 37 years. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and his favorite pastime was to sit back and enjoy a Labatt's beer. He was a member of the Newark VFW Post 2883, Newark American Legion Post 286, the Rod and Gun Club in Newark and Lyons and the Palmyra Moose Lodge 1420.
The Army flag flew at the funeral home in honor of his four years of service during the Vietnam War.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 33 years; Georgetta Fingar Potter; two daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Custer and Pennie (Larry) Webber; four grandchildren, Krystal, David, Jeffrey and Leahlinn; four brothers, Paul Potter, George, Roger and Kevin Rouse; four sisters, Patricia Howard, Donna Debuyser, Mary Wheatons and Bonnie Carter; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, including Rose Rugg; mother-in-law, Leta Sprague; many nieces and nephews; a godson, Anthony Thomas James Rugg; and many friends and co-workers.
He was predeceased by two children, Pamela and Howard.
Margery D. Record
ASHEBORO, N.C. - Margery Lois DeLooze Record, 70, of 1037 Ingram Drive, Asheboro, N.C., passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at her home.
A memorial service will be at a later date in New York.
Mrs. Record was a native of Phelps and of the Catholic faith. She formerly owned and operated Village Florist in Clifton Springs and was formerly employed with Fashion Fabrics in Asheboro.
She is survived by her husband, Myrle Record, at home; a son, Kelly Record, also at home; a daughter, Shelly Dutton of Alexandria, Va., four grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Bowman of Seneca Castle, Eleanor Brignall of Phelps and Virginia Rolan of Newark; and three brothers, Thomas DeLooze of Hattiesburg, Miss.; James DeLooze of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; and Butch DeLooze of Willard.
Janice Kay Purdy
LYONS - Janice Kay Purdy, 62, of the Wayne Center Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004 at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Friends called Sunday, Feb. 1 at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home in Lyons, where a memorial service was held with the Rev. John Smith officiating. A reception followed the memorial service at the Lyons VFW Post 5092 home.

Janice was born Oct. 1, 1941, in the town of Rose, a daughter to Irving A. and Lucille Gilfilian Smith. She was employed by the ARC in Lyons.
She is survived by heir husband, Charles; her children, Dusten Barry of Mississippi, Randy Purdy of Seneca Falls and Tracey Purdy of Florida; a step-daughter, Nancy Purdy of Phelps; three sisters, Marsha Skyner of Mississippi, Donna DeFee and Linda Martin of Alabama; one brother, Irving Smith of Alabama; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her stepson, Leon Purdy.
