Richard C. Bump

PHELPS - Richard C. Bump, 85, of Case Road, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Canandaigua.
Friends called Thursday, Sept. 30 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 1 at the funeral home, with burial in Oaklawn cemetery in Oaks Corners.
Friends may contribute to the House of John or to the Fisher House in Richard's memory.
Dick was born July 29, 1919, in Phelps and had lived in this area all of his life. He served in the Army during World War II and retired form the Canandaigua VA Hospital.
Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
He is survived by his children, Betty (Terry) Ingerson of North Rose, Ruth (Ronald) Smith of Clifton Springs, Hazen (Bonnie) Bump of Stanley and Diane (Maurice) Gaglianese of Phelps; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by Orphie in 2002.

Mildred "Mickey" Walters Turner Ryan
Loving Mother & Grandmother

CANANDAIGUA - Mildred Ryan, of Parrish Street, passed away Monday, September 27, 2004 at Ontario County Health Facility.
She is survived by her sister, Rosalie Rigney of Canandaigua; two sons, Norman (Karen) Walters of Foristell, Missouri and Richard Walters of Prattsburg, NY. One daughter, Mary Ann (Tom) Bement of Canandaigua. Seven grandchildren, Ronald (Cathy) Bement, Matthew (Kristin) Bement, Susan (Jon) Welch, all of Canandaigua, Jill (JD) Koehler of St. Charles, MO, Pamela (Scott) McCardie of Troy, MO, Bradley Walters of O'Fallon, MO, Susan (Fred) Harris of Lake St. Louis, MO; two step-sons, James Ryan of Mt. Morris, NY, Gerald (Margaret) Ryan of Victor, NY; six step-grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Harold Walters, Harold Turner, Howard Ryan; and one sister Josephine Buck.
Mildred graduated from Clifton Springs School of Nursing in 1929. She loved being a maternity nurse at Clifton Springs Hospital and Newark-Wayne Hospital. She worked in the intensive care unit at FF Thompson Hospital and at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home until her retirement in 1975. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and spending time with her family and many friends at 80 Parrish St. and Ontario County Health facility. At her request there were no calling hours. A Memorial service was held Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 10am at St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua. A graveside service was held in St. Agnes cemetery in Clifton Springs.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart and Cancer societies. Arrangements were made by the Fuller Funeral Home in Canandaigua.

Newt C. Smith

NEWARK - Newt C. Smith, 68, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 in Rochester.
Friends called Friday, Oct. 1 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Shortsville Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Daryl Powell officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Pioneer cemetery.
Friends may contribute to the American Heart Association or the Manchester Baptist Church.
Newt was born March 12, 1936, in Canandaigua, the son of Carl and Lottie Smith, and lived in the area all of his life. He served in the Navy and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Newt had owned his own communications business for more than 45 years. He was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Association, the Clifton Springs Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and was a life member of the Clifton Springs Fire Department.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Bob) Walker, Joette (Tony) Colucci, Lisa Smith and Jill (Scott) Hess; 10 grandchildren; and two brothers, Bob (Susan) Smith and David Smith.
He was predeceased by Elaine in 1000.

Richard "Rick" B. Turk

ONTARIO - Richard "Rick" B. Turk, 57, formerly of Lyons, was called home to the Lord Monday, Sept. 27, 2004.
His family received friends Friday, Oct. 1 at the Webster Bible Church in Webster. His memorial service was Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Church, with the Rev. Ronald Satta officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Webster Bible Church Organ Fund.
Rick was a resident project engineer with the Rochester Office of Dewberry-Goodkind Inc. for the past seven years. He worked on such projects as the Monroe County Pure Waters Operations Center, the Monroe County Jail and many area roads.
Rick was an Army veteran, having served in Vietnam, was a member of the VFW Post 5092 of Lyons and of Meyer-Ingraham American Legion Post in Ontario.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Turk; children, Elaine (Kenneth) Smith of Phelps and Capt. Richard A. (Sarah) Turk of Texas; five grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Matthew and Anna Smith and Gavin Turk; his father, James E. (Doris) Turk of Rome; four sisters; his mother-in-law; three sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, James; and his father-in-law, George L. Welch.

Robert F. Allen

CLIFTON SPRINGS/AVON PARK, Fla. - Mr. Robert F. Allen, 77, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 at Florida Hospital Heartland in Sebring, Fla.
Friends called Wednesday, Oct. 6 at the Kennedy & Son Funeral Home, in Canandaigua. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 7 at St. Mary's Church, in Canandaigua. Interment will be in Riverview cemetery in Clifton Springs.
Contributions in his memory may be directed to the Norm Allen Sportsmanship Award, c/o the Red Jacket Booster Club.
Mr. Allen was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Clifton Springs, the son of Ralph and Ethel Worden Allen. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Marine Corps. For 30 years, Mr. Allen was a foundry superintendent for Goulds Pumps Inc. and also had worked for the Owego-Appalachian School District for 11 years.
As an avid golfer, he was a charter member of the Tioga Country Club in Nichols, and a member of American Legion Post 401 in Owego.
He is survived by his wife, Alma A. Allen of Avon Park, Fla.; his son, Dana Allen of Geneva; his daughters, Roberta Button of Sarasota, Fla.; and Theresa Allen of Atlanta, Ga.; a stepson, Dan Allen of Massachusetts, two step-daughters, Lori Osmun of Pennsylvania and Melanie Warden of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two brothers, Richard Allen and Walter Allen, both of Clifton Springs; four sisters, Jean Phillips, Hazel Behen, Cecile Severson, all of Clifton Springs; and Bernice Anderson of Geneva; a daughter-in-law, Diane Allen of Canandaigua; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Margaret W. Brown

SHORTSVILLE - Margaret W. Brown, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at the Living Center in Geneva.
Friends were invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, Oct. 7 at the Shortsville Presbyterian Church; burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Book of Remembrance or to Shortsville Ambulance.
She was the widow of Elwin J. Brown. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Shortsville Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder, deacon, church treasurer, session member and a life member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a rural mail carrier and a postal carrier in the Shortsville and Clifton Springs post offices. Her main interests were her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Keith (Geri) Brown of Shortsville; her daughter, Sandra (Richard) Shaffer of Shortsville; two brothers, Milton Walborn of Clifton Springs and Gail (Carol) Waldon of Shortsville; three sisters, Betty Draper and Norma Bredesen, both of Shortsville; and Barbara (Gordon) Broomfield of Clifton; five grandchildren, Jay, Jill, Scott, Kim and Kelley; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Chad, Michael, Keith, Chase, Keegan and Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Willard and Archibald Walborn; and three sisters, Jean Walborn, Phyllis Burden and Naomi Oswalt.

Anne Jessie Ellis

NEWARK - Anne Jessie Ellis, 80, of West Miller St., died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends called Friday, Oct. 8 at the Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, in Newark. Funeral services followed at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boughtin Hill cemetery in Victor.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Rd. North, Rochester 14609.
Anne was born Sept. 19, 1924, in the town of Victor, the daughter of George F. and Lillie Tompkins Ellis. She retired from the Newark Developmental Center where she worked for many years. She was also a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Newark.
She is survived by two sisters, Grace Howard of Holcomb and Edith Becker of Shortsville; brother, Lester Ellis of Clifton Springs; two grandsons, one granddaughter; one great great-grandson; and good friend, Phyllis Gordon of Newark.

Paul K. Pearson

CLIFTON SPRINGS - Paul King Pearson, 69, died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 at Clifton Springs Hospital.
Family and friends called Thursday, Oct. 7 at the Waterman Funeral Home in Newark. There was a graveside service Friday, Oct. 8 at Sand Beach Lakeview cemetery in Fleming, Cayuga County.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Newark Volunteer Fire Department, East Mill Street, Newark 14513; the Newark-Arcadia Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 680, Newark 14513; or a charity of choice.
Paul was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Auburn, the son of Isaac and Pearl Bennet Pearson. He had owned and operated the Montgomery Ward Store in Newark for 18 years, worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and for the Monroe Community Hospital. Most recently he worked for BJ's in Geneva.
Paul was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Newark, the Northern Central New York Firemen's Association, the Newark Volunteer Fire Department and its Excelsior Hook and Ladder Co. 4, which he joined in 1958; and the Arcadia Democratic Committee, where he was voting machine custodian for more than 48 years. He was a charter member of the Newark-Arcadia Volunteer Ambulance, a member of the Newark Masonic Lodge 83, Free and Accepted Masons, and Newark Elks Lodge. He was a past member of the Newark Rotary Club and the Newark Chamber of Commerce.
Paul enjoyed his CB radio and was known as "The General" to his radio friends. He also enjoyed camping
The funeral home will fly the Army flag in honor of his military service.
He is survived by his son, Richard (Lisa) Pearson of Newark; daughters Cindy (friend, Rich Carney) Blankenberg of Clifton Springs and Kathy (friend, Chris Mitek) Marvel of Woodstock, Ga.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and good friends, Gail Pearson and Nancy DuFresne.

John C. Pease

GORHAM - John C. Pease, 84, of Route 245, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 at Hospeace House in Naples.
Fulfilling his wishes, there were no prior calling hours or service.
The family extends profound thanks to the staff at Hospeace House for the loving care that John received during his final days.

John was born Feb. 11, 1920 in Phelps, the son of Charles and Neva Combs Pease. He owned and operated his farm on Route 245 for many years, and was a member of the Ontario County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by two nephews, David Phelps and Edward Pease, both of Stanley; one niece, Janet Seeling of Rushville; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Cornelia M. DeLue

Newark - Cornelia M. DeLue, formerly of 206 Washington St., passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends called Wednesday, Oct. 13 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home in Newark. Her funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 14 at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Newark cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark 14513, or to the Genesee Region Home Care, 1120 S. Main St., Newark 14513.
Mrs. DeLue was born in Sodus, the daughter of Abram and Minnie VanKoveringen Havert. She was a lifelong resident of Newark and a member of the Park Presbyterian Church since 1939. She had retired from Ruspak Corp. of Lyons. For many years, she volunteered at the Office for the Aging helping the "Three Score Newsletter" and the Alex Eligh Helping Hands.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail (Charlie) Morrow of Clifton Springs and Diana (Robert) Wykle of Lyons; three sons, Donald (Marcia) of Arlington, Texas; Eugene (Eloise) of Port Byron and Norma (Myrna) of Katy, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Kaiser of Newark and Marian (Ben) Conley of Oaks Corners; two brothers, Phillip (Ruth) Havert of Sodus, and Henry (Veronica) Havert of Merles Inlet, S.C.; and eight nieces and nephews.
Cornelia was predeceased by her husband, Ivan, in 1973; a sister Mable Cook; and a brother, Richard Havert.
