Frances K. "Fran" Coleman Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister

GENEVA: Frances K. "Fran" Coleman, died Monday, April 4, 2005 at her home after a long illness.
Friends called Thursday, April 7 at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service followed at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Gorham cemetery.
Fran was born Sept. 3, 1957, in Canandaigua. She enjoyed bowling and bingo.
She is survived by her husband, John G. Coleman of Geneva; five children, Terry (Amy) Green of Canandaigua, Anita Green of Honeoye, Rita (Mark) Bullock of Geneva, Shawna Coleman of Geneva and John Coleman of Geneva; six grandchildren; eight siblings, David Green of Gorham, Donald Green of Penn Yan, Jan Green of Gorham, Sandy (Alvin) Ryder of Clifton Springs, Rodney Green of Gorham, Linda (Milton) Skyner of Rushville, Douglas Green of Hilton and Dorothea VanSickle of North Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.

Loena J. Conway
1903-2005

FARMINGTON: Loena J. Conway, 101, of Weigert Road, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the Ontario County Health Facility in Hopewell.
In keeping with her wishes, there were no prior calling hours. Friends were invited to attend a celebration of Loena's life on Monday, April 11 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Hope cemetery in Corning.
Friends may contribute to the Dresden Methodist Church in Loena's memory.
Loena was born Oct. 25, 1903, in Penn Yan, and had lived in Dresden and Geneva before moving to Farmington. She owned and operated her own beauty shop in Geneva.
Loena is survived by her cousins, Bill Finnigen and family in Farmington; Donald Orr of Cairo and Betty Pease of Elmira; and a special friend, Janice Pries of Geneva.

Frederick W. Durkee
Lifelong Farmer

CLIFTON SPRINGS: Frederick W. Durkee, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2005 at his home. He is survived by his faithful wife of 50 years, Susan.
Friends called on Thursday, April 7 at the Seneca Castle United Methodist Church, where funeral services followed.
Friends may contribute to the Seneca Castle United Methodist Church, 2078 Castle Road, Seneca Castle 14547; or the Eastview Kidney Dialysis Unit, 120 Victor Heights Parkway, Victor 14564, in Fred's memory.
Fred was born Nov. 16, 1932, the son of George and Esther Durkee. He moved from Avon when he was 9 to Clifton Springs, where he farmed with his father. Fred was active in the Ontario County 4-H, and served on the Ontario County Fair Board. He was also a member of the Ontario County Farm Bureau, the NY State Holstein Association, and Dairy League Co-op. Fred served as a past president on the Phelps-Clifton Springs School Board. He was a lifetime member of the Orleans Clifton Springs Fire Department and the Seneca Castle United Methodist Church.
Farming was Fred's life.
He is survived by his wife, Susan S. Durkee; seven daughters, Debbi, Suni (Todd), Theresa, Jeanne (Mike), Kathy, Heidi, Sue (Bob); grandchildren, Shaun (Katie), Melissa, Matthew, Mark, Brian and Mary Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Karen, Mary Jo, Colin, Megan and Madison. He was also Grandpa Fred to many precious little ones. He is also survived by two sisters, Martha (William) Gilletto and Shirley (John) Ford; and a close friend, Edward Campbell.
Fred is predeceased by his friend, Hasen Bowman.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs.

Doris M. Garling
Loving Mother

CLIFTON SPRINGS: Doris M. Garling, 78, formerly of Clifton Springs, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005, at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends called Monday, April 11 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Pioneer cemetery.
Doris was born July 17, 1926, in Canandaigua, the daughter of Harry and Louise Washburn, and had lived in the area all of her life. She worked at Acme Markets in Geneva. Doris was a former member of the Grange and the Kings Daughters. She loved to root for the old Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team and spending time with her family.
Doris is survived by her husband, Charles E. Garling of Texas; two sons, Charles Garling of Clifton Springs and Harry (Barbara) Garling of Newark; a daughter, Elsie May Shorter of Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Helen Joanna Lootens
Loving Mother and Grandmother

PHELPS: Helen Joanna Lootens, 83, of 645 Neider Road, died peacefully Thursday, March 31, 2005 at home, surrounded by her family.
Friends called Sunday, April 3 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, April 4 in St. Francis Church with the Rev. Anthony Calimeri officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Road, Geneva 14456.
Mrs. Lootens was born Oct. 9, 1921, in Phelps, the daughter of Felix and Alice Neider Taney. She attended the District 17 Schoolhouse on Neider Road in Phelps until eighth grade. She graduated from the Phelps Union and Classical School in 1938, and then from the Rochester Business Institute in 1940.
Mrs. Lootens was a lifelong member of St. Francis Church in Phelps, and on Oct. 18, 1947, she married Andrew F. Lootens.
Surviving are her four children, Rosemary (William) Barker of Inverness, Fla.; Ann (John) Baker of Bridgewater, Robert (Janice) Lootens of Phelps, and Judith (Thomas) Ferrell of Lyons; a brother, Roger T. (Eleanor) Taney of California; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Andrew F. Lootens, who died May 9, 2004; two brothers, Conrad and Joseph C. Taney; and her sister, Mary Alice Estep.

Isabel "Peg" Snider

FILLMORE - Isabel "Peg" Snider, formerly of 11225 West River Rd., died Monday, April 4, 2005 in Clifton Springs; Hospital Nursing Home. She was born on April 28, 1918 in Ischua, the beloved and devoted daughter of Orrin and Eva Franklin Karn. She was a graduate of Cuba Central School and Olean Business Institute. On Nov. 9, 1943 in the First Baptist Church of Cuba, she married Ceylon R. Snider, who died in 2001. They worked and raised a family together on Ceydermead Farm in Fillmore for 57 years.
Mrs. Snider was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church, the Cuba Grange, and was a lifelong supporter of 4-H. She loved baking, gardening, quilting and her family.
Surviving are 2 sons, Phillip (Suzanne) Snider of Fillmore, and Neal (Carolyn) snider of Mayville; 3 daughters, Virginia (Jeff ) Shaw of Richfield Springs, Rosalind (David) Slotman of Orchard Park, and Barbara (William) Young of Clifton Springs; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Clifford (Audrey) Karn and Delo Karn, both of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 2 brothers, Kendall and Franklin Karn.
Family and friends gathered on Friday, Apr. 8 and Sat., Apr. 9 at Kopler-Williams Funeral Home in Fillmore, where funeral services followed on Saturday in the funeral home. The Rev. Lynn Spence, pastor of Clifton Springs United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery in Fillmore.
Memorial suggestion: NY State 4-H Foundation, 340 Roberts Hall, Ithaca, NY 14853 and designated for the H.A. Willman Fund and in memory of Peg Snider.
The Snider family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of the Clifton Springs Hospital Nursing Home for their kind and loving care of Peg.

Jane B. Chapman

PENN YAN - Jane B. Chapman, 79, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at home, surrounded by her family.
There were no prior calling hours, at Jane's request. A resurrection Mass was held Friday, April 15 at St. Michael's Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Soldiers & Sailors Hospital, Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home, St. Michael's Church or Ontario-Yates Hospice.
Jane was born Dec. 18, 1925, in Benton Center, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Nyland Buckley. She worked at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital as a nurse's aide for many years. She was a member of the St. Michael's Church.
Jane is survived by her five sons, Patrick (Cindy) Chapman of Penn Yan, Phillip Chapman of Canandaigua, Paul (Chris) Chapman of Gorham, Peter (Brenda) Chapman of Victor and Preston (Nikki) Chapman of Hornell; five daughters, Mrs. (Tim) Paula Houlihan of Texas, Mrs. (Ron) Pam Harrison of Penn Yan, Priscilla Chapman of Penn Yan, Penny Chapman (Norman Nielsen) of Penn Yan and Mrs. (Jamie) Polly Crowley of Shortsville; two brothers, Joseph Buckley of Connecticut and Paul (Jean) Buckley of Horseheads; two sisters, Mrs. Winnie Arnold of Elmira, Mrs. (Bruce) Joan Haskell of Elmira; sisters-in-law, Shirlee Buckley of Connecticut and Ellen Buckley of Benton; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She as predeceased by her husband, John L., in 1985; three brothers, Harold Gerald and Robert; and a grandson, Jamie.

Elizabeth "Betty" Dennis

NEWARK/CLIFTON SPRINGS - Elizabeth Dennis, 88, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.
Friends called April 11 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home in Newark. Funeral services followed at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Elton O. Smith Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Newark cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 189, Newark 14513.
Mrs. Dennis was born Sept. 24, 1916, in Angelica, the daughter of William and Marie Lehman Gaus. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark. Betty enjoyed quilting, as well as raising horses with her husband, Walter, who died in 1985.
She is survived by two sons, Alan (Karen) of Evanston, Ill.; and Brent (Tina) of Phelps; three granddaughters, Cary, Amanda and Kirby Dennis; a brother, Albert (Betty) Gaus of Fredonia; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert L. Everson

PHELPS - Robert L. Everson, 21, of Mary Street, Phelps passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2005.
Friends called Sunday, April 17 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Funeral services were Monday, April 18 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
Robert was born March 20, 1984, in Rochester, the son of Donald and Charlotte Everson, and had lived in the Phelps area all of his life. Robert enjoyed drawing and movies. He loved sports, especially football. Robert was a caring and loving son and friend. He was happiest spending time with his loving family. Robert will be missed by all of his loving friends and family.
He is survived by his loving parents, Donald and Charlotte of Phelps; two sisters, April and Andrea of Phelps; a brother, Donald of Phelps; a grandmother, Delores Bell of Conesus; an aunt, Joyce Domville of Farmington; an uncle, David (Laurie) Domville of Hemlock; and his girlfriend, Brooke Schaeffer of Canandaigua.
Robert was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert Domville; grandparents, Elmer and Doris Everson.
