Elma M. (Brooks) Miller
Newark, formerly of Syracuse - Elma Marie Miller, 77 died Saturday, June 30, 2001 at the Newark Manor Nursing Home with her daughter and son-in-law at her side.
There will be no prior calling hours or funeral services. Family and friends may attend a graveside service Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at 11 a.m. at South Lyons cemetery.

Elma was the daughter of Orin and Florence (Gary) Carpenter, born on May 9, 1924 in Galen, New York. She grew up in Lyons then lived in Syracuse before moving back to Newark two years ago.
Elma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Richard VanDuyne of Newark; four grandchildren: Jeannette (Harold) Smith Jr., Julie (Ricky) Orsborne, Mary VanDuyne and Richard (Susan) VanDuyne Jr.; seven great grandchildren; two sisters Nina Savage of Lyons and Ann Savage of Newark; many nieces and nephews.

Newark - Eva Stella DeBoerdere, 70 died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at Via Health of Wayne-Newark Campus.
Family and friends may call Sunday (July 8) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 West Miller Street, Newark where a funeral service will be Monday (July 9) at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Cynthia Huling Hummel officiating. Burial at Marion cemetery.

Eva was born the daughter of Frank and Cora Manders Ford on October 19, 1930 in Newark, NY. She had worked at the A&P in Newark for 26 years as a cashier and clerk. Eva was a devoted wife and mother enjoying all her free time with them. She also enjoyed gardening and shopping.
Eva is survived by her husband of 50 years, Raymond; daughters Linda (Paul) Hamelinck of Newark, Dawn (Scott) Foss and Colleen (Joseph) Noble both of Lyons; son Steven DeBoerdere; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sisters Shirley DeBoerdere of Florida and Dorothy Palmer of Newark; brothers Frank (June) Ford Jr. of Newark and Albert (Ruth) Ford of Macedon; many nieces and nephews.
Eva was predeceased by a sister Carol Ford in 2000 and a brother Richard Ford in 1962.

Palmyra/Rose - John Joseph Grosser, 22 died suddenly Tuesday, July 3, 2001.

John was born the son of Robert and Deborah Perri Grosser on July 28, 1978 in Rochester, New York. He graduated from Palmyra-Macedon High School and worked as a construction laborer. John loved the outdoors including fishing and camping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He was very proud of his heritage, half Apache.
John is survived by his mother Deborah Grosser of Rose, NY; father Robert Grosser of Florida; brothers Bobby, Daniel, Joshua and Raymond; sisters Charity and Angel; maternal grandparents Joseph and Annabelle Perri of Palmyra; nephew Brandon; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
Robert T. Killips Sr.
Lyons - Robert Thomas Killips Sr., 80 died Sunday, July 1, 2001 at Via Health of Wayne-Newark Campus.

Mr. Killips was born the son of Thomas and Mary Coon Killips on May 19, 1921 in Lyons, New York. He was proprietor of the Credit Bureau of Newark. Member of the Elmwood cemetery Board for 8 years, past president of the Lyons Rotary, Grand Ruler of the Elks Lodge and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Lyons.
Mr. Killips is survived by his sons Thomas (Deborah) Killips Jr. of Clifton Parks and Peter (Karen) Killips of Lyons; grandchildren Rachel, Brian and Matthew; sister Marian (John) Longyear of Maine; niece Joan (Robert) Weurthner of Maine.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Nevada, Jan. 4, 1996.
Laverne W. Boise
Newark - Laverne Wayne Boise, 78 died suddenly Saturday, August 25, 2001 at his home.
Family and friends may call Tuesday (Aug. 28) only from 6-9 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 West Miller Street, Newark. A funeral service will be Wednesday (Aug. 29) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Harris officiating. Burial will follow at East Newark cemetery.

Mr. Boise was born the son of Isaac and Jennie Bruno Boise on February 10, 1926 in Williamson, New York. He retired from Garlock Corp. as superintendent on March 1, 1988 after 37 years. He served in the Army Medical Corp. from 1945 - 1946. We at the funeral home proudly fly the Army flag in honor of his service to our country.
Mr. Boise is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Lillian Sperrazza Boise; sons Lee (Kim) Boise of Waterloo and Brian Boise of Newark; daughter Susan (Shawn) Curran of Texas; five grandchildren Tim, Kevin and Ashliegh Boise, Kelly and Conner Curran; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was born the daughter of Clarence and Delia Deane Elliott on May 24, 1923 in Gates, New York. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church in Newark, Way-Ont Saddle Club where she had served as treasurer for 14 years. Evelyn was also a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gilbert "Gil" Lewis; daughters and sons-in-law Sandra (Ken) Casselman of Newark, Carol (Robert) Owen of Clifton Springs and Kathy (Michael) Lewis-Atherton of Montana; grandchildren Kimberley Owen, Debra Baker, Kevin (Tamara) Owen, Timothy (Gillian) Casselman, Rebecca Casselman, Corey Atherton and Kier Atherton; five great grandchildren; brother Harold (Irene) Elliott of Clifton Springs; sister Ruth Patzwald of Penfield; many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her brother Walter Elliott.

Mary Ann "Marie" Pierce, 89, of Newark, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Family and friends may call Thursday (July 26) from 5-8 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 West Miller Street, Newark. A Funeral Mass will be Friday (July 27) at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, celebrating the Mass will be Rev. James Enright. Burial will follow at St. John's cemetery in Clyde.

Marie was born the daughter of Marion and Mazurowska Vladyslawa Wisniewski on September 16, 1911 in Poland. She arrived in the United States on April 10, 1914 on the SS Ryndam. Marie worked for Hickock Corp. in Lyons on the assembly line for many years and was the proprietor of Petrosino Cleaner in Clyde. She was a member of St. Michael Church in Newark and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Marion. Past member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Clyde.
Marie is survived by her loving husband Earl Pierce; sons John Petrosino of Auburn and James (Betty) Petrosino of Port Byron; daughter Elizabeth "Betty" (Don) Bucholtz of Florida; step-sons Roger (Helen) Pierce of Newark and Richard Pierce of North Carolina; daughter-in-law Carmella Petrosino of Auburn; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; brother Walter (Angie) Wisniewski of Clyde and John Wisniewski of Michigan; many nieces and nephews.
Marie was predeceased by her first husband Peter Petrosino in 1958; son Peter Michael Petrosino in 1991; granddaughter Jacquelyn in 1973; daughter-in-law Barbara in 1999; step-daughter-in-law June Pierce in 1999; nine brothers and sisters.

Doris was born the daughter of Paul and Katherine Bachman Stierwalt on October 9, 1930 in Salisbury, Maryland. She had worked as the assistant manager of a 7-11 store in Norfolk, Virginia for over 20 years.
Doris is survived by her daughter Eleanor Hill and her fiancé Christopher Fahrson both of Newark. Five grandchildren, Joshua, Jamie, Terran, Caleb and Luke; niece Kathy Wood; nephew Ricky (Mary) Robinson.
Doris was predeceased by her grandson Eric Jacob Hill in 1995 and her sister Grace Robinson in 1983.

Howard G. Orbaker "Glenn" 83 died suddenly at his home on July 9, 2001.

Glenn was born the son of John and Carrie Orbaker on October 21, 1917 in Palmyra, New York. He was a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens and the Newark VFW Post 2883. Glenn retired from Garlock Co. in 1980 after 40 years of service. There he worked as a machine set-up man.

Dayton L. Newcombe, 83 died Saturday, December 15, 2001 at Via Health of Wayne-Newark Campus.
Family and friends may call Wednesday (Dec. 19) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 West Miller Street, Newark. A funeral service will be Thursday (Dec. 20) at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Benedict officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview cemetery in Phelps with full military honors.

Mr. Newcombe was born the son of Arthur and Inez Griffith Newcombe on May 14, 1918 in Lisbon, New York. He owned and drove the first school bus for Newark School until they centralized. He won a contest which named the "Sunset Farms". Mr. Newcombe owned and raced three cars during his life. He also worked at the Gardinar Hotel in Newark. He was a member of Newark VFW and a past member of the Newark Masonic Lodge.
We at the funeral home proudly fly the Marine Corps. flag in honor of his service to our country during WWII. Mr. Newcombe received the Purple Heart as a result of wounds received at Okinawa.
Mr. Newcombe is survived by his son Clark (Linda) Newcombe of Florida; daughters Barb (Sam) Bartoletti, Gloria (Paul) Bixby and Elizabeth (Merle) Nye all of Newark; sixteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren; sisters Phoebe Burnham, Eleanor Hale both of Newark and Ruth (Henry) Davies of Florida; dear friend Sally Wiley of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Newcombe was predeceased by his wife Christine in 1990, son Richard in April of 2001, grandson Mark in 1998, three brothers and three sisters.
