Beatrice M. Schafer

PHELPS - Mrs. Beatrice M. Schafer, of 46 Ontario St., died on her 97th birthday, Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the Clifton Springs Extended Care Unit.
There were no calling hours. Friends attended a memorial service Saturday, April 1 at Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps, with the Rev. William Reigle officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery at the convenience of the family.
It is suggested that contributions be made to the Phelps Historical Society, 66 Main St., Phelps 14432; or Phelps Ambulance Inc., PO Box 81, Phelps 14432.
Mrs. Schafer was born March 30, 1909, in Williamson, the daughter of the late William and Muriel Cottrell Hammond. She was a member of the United Church of Phelps, The Home Bureau, and a longtime member of the Phelps Croquet Club. She retired from the cafeteria at the Phelps Central School.
She is survived by her children, Gerald (Barbara) Schafer of Phelps, Kathleen (Robert) Buttermore of Ontario, and June (Gordon) Gardner of Clifton Springs; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, who died in 1991.

Elsie D. Beman Teed

WATERLOO - Elsie D. Teed, 84, went to be with her heavenly Father Thursday, March 23, 2006.
Friends called Monday, March 27 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Funeral services followed at the Faith Community Church of Phelps, with the Rev. William Malone officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon's Bible International, P.O. Box 202, Geneva 14456.
Elsie was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Lockport, the daughter of the late Fred and Ethel Beman, and lived in Waterloo for many years. On Dec. 24, 1941, she married Lawrence H. Teed. Elsie was a member of the Waterloo Assembly of God for many years. Mom was a very loving wife, mother and grandma. She will be sadly missed by all.
She is survived by her sons, Lawrence F. (Katie) Teed, Norman (Grace) Teed, Ronald (Ruth) Teed and Russell (Doreen) Teed; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Gary A. Camacho

NEWARK - Gary A. Camacho, 43, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 in Newark.
Friends called Thursday, April 6 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home in Newark. Funeral services were Friday, April 7 at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Matteson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery in Phelps.
Memorials contributions may be made to his family at the funeral home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark 14513.
Mr. Camacho was born Aug. 23, 1962, in Clifton Springs, the son of Miguel and Catherine O'Dell Camacho. Gary was a sound engineer for his own company, Music Production Unlimited. He played guitar in his two bands, Rude Mood and Double Vision. Gary donated much of his time and talents to special fundraisers for families in need. He was also a member of the Wayne County Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Schetrompf Camacho; a son, Caleb; a daughter Shania; his parents, Miguel "Mike" and Catherine O'Dell Camacho; two brothers, Michael (Darci) and Donald, all of Newark; three sisters, Linda (Jim) Foster of Newark, Debra Smith of Tampa, Fla., and Michele (Ron) Harper of Newark; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister, Terri Camacho in 1989.

Janice McCormick Lootens

PHELPS - Janice McCormick Lootens, 49, of 647 Neider Road, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic.
Friends called Thursday, April 6 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, April 7 at St. Francis Church in Phelps. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Francis cemetery.
It is suggested that memorial donations be made to Finger Lakes Community Cancer Center, 6 Coulter Road, Clifton Springs 124432 or Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service, 756 Pre-Emption Road, Geneva 14456.
Jan was born Jan. 17, 1957, in Hartford, Conn. The daughter of Howard F. McCormick Jr. and May Dalton. She was a member of St. Francis Church in Phelps. She went to the Barbizon School of modeling and attended the Marion S. Whalen School of nursing. Jan worked at Huntington Living Center as activities director and also worked at Seneca Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Jan was also a friend of Bill W.
She is survived by her husband of eight years, Robert Lootens of Phelps; stepson Sgt. Jonathan Lootens of Hawaii; father, Howard F. (Judy) McCormick Jr. of Windsor, Conn.; sisters, Maureen M. (Fiancee James Benedicks) Strader of Romulus and Joan (Philip) Thompson of Mattaponi, Va.; brother, Howard F. (Kathy) McCormick III of Hartford, Conn.; stepfather, Herman Glassman; half sisters, Darlene McCormick, Holly (fiancee Mike Curley) McCormick and Lynn McCormick; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved pets, Millie, Misty, Freddie, Winter and Suzie.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Glassman; and her brother, Robert McCormick.

William "Willum" Maslyn

CLIFTON SPRINGS - William "Willum" Maslyn, 45, of Pearl Street Extension, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 4, 2006 in Maryland.
Friends called Sunday, April 9 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, April 10 at St. Felix Church in Clifton Springs. Burial will be in St. Agnes cemetery.
Friends may contribute to the American Diabetes Association in Willum's memory.
Willum was born Feb. 22, 1961, in Clifton Springs, the son of Elmer Jr. and Barbara Maslyn, and had lived in the area all of his life. He worked for many years on his family's farm while in school and later as a herdsman for Reedland Farms. He was an avid NASCAR and Giants fan. Willum will be sadly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Maslyn of Clifton Springs; son Samuel Weber of Virginia; brothers and sisters, Charles (Vicky) Maslyn, Lori (Alan) Norsen, Jim (Lisa) Maslyn, and Janet (Mark) Wheeler, all of Clifton Springs; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Elmer J. Maslyn Jr.; and a niece, Ashlee Wheeler.

Elizabeth Marie Randall

PHELPS - Elizabeth Marie Randall, 90, of 38 Orchard Park, died Thursday, April 13, 2006.
There were no prior calling hours. Funeral services were Sunday, April 23, 2006 at the United Church of Phelps, with the Rev. Shirley Filiatreau officiating. Private burial will be in Resthaven cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the United Church of Phelps, 58 Main St., Phelps 14432; or Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Road, Geneva 14456.
Mrs. Randall was born Jan. 5, 1916 in Geneva, the daughter of the late Albert and Vesta Mahon Oaks. She was a member of the United Church of Phelps. Mrs. Randall previously owned the Clifton Springs Clothing Store and then worked in the medical records department at Clifton Springs Hospital, from where she retired. She was an avid golfer, and meticulous at making crafts, Christmas ornaments and personalized newborn pillows. She was a talented artist and enjoyed charcoal drawing, loved gardening and beating her children at card games. Most of all she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Ovid (Bobbie) Randall of Clifton Springs, Dale (John) Prongo of Phelps, Sherry (Don) Wilkes of Phelps and Candy (Jack) Jones of Canandaigua; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Berta Homes of Wake Forest, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Ovid Randall, who died in 1972; three sisters, Ruth May, Virginia Pearson and Dorothy Young; and brother Dick Oaks.
Funeral arrangements were made with the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps.

Frances E. Schmidt

ROCHESTER/CLIFTON SPRINGS - Frances E. Schmidt, 93, formerly of Rochester and Clifton Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 3, 2006 at the Seneca Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center while surrounded by her family.
A Memorial Service was Saturday, April 22 at the Interlaken Reformed Church, 8315 Main St., Interlaken.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Walker Bible Baptist Church, 1425 Walker Lake Ontario Road, Hilton 14468 or to Odosagih Bible Conference, PO Box 107, Machias 14101.
In addition to other family members, Frances is survived by her daughter, Aneta Glover of Interlaken; and a first cousin, Fred (Velma) Swick of Ovid.

Kenneth Bruce Burgett

PHELPS - Kenneth Bruce Burgett, 68, of 11 Mary St., died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 at his home.
There were no prior calling hours. Friends attended a memorial service on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the United Church of Phelps, with the Rev. Shirley Filiatreau officiating. Private burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
Ken was born Aug. 25, 1937, in Newark, the son of the late Lester and Florence Covel Burgett. He was retired from Kodak. He was a member of the Plumber and Pipefitters Union UA Local 13. Ken was a Navy veteran and member of the Seeley B. Parish Phelps American Legion Post 457. He was a very talented craftsman working with wood.
Memorial donations may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring St, Clifton Springs 14432.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth (Barbara) Burgett Jr. of Austin, Texas; his granddaughter, Abigail Burgett; sister, Joanne (Richard) Oakleaf of Palmyra; brother, Donald (Joan) Burgett of Ithaca; brother-in-law, Frank Lee of Clyde; and special friend, Elaine Kibble.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine.

Randall S. Bedette

PHELPS - Randall S. Bedette, 40, of 31 William St., died unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 6, 2006.
Friends called Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 10 at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Burial will be in Orleans cemetery.
It is suggested that memorial donations be directed to the family, care of Todd Harrington, 15 Mary St., Phelps 14532.
Randy was born Aug. 18, 1965, in Newark, the son of Robert Bedette and Patricia Duel. Randy was a selfless, hardworking independent contractor. He was a generous person who always gave and never took. Most of all, Randy was a devoted father to his sons. He was very proud of them, and thy always came first. They were his life.
He is survived by his sons, Jeremy (Shauna Morrow) Bedette and Joshua Bedette, both of Phelps; wife, Suzanne Bedette of Clifton Springs; his parents, Patricia (Donald) Wagner of Phelps; brothers and sisters, Karen (Todd Peffenberger) Galens of Geneva, Robert (Gail) Bedette of Phelps, Clarence Wagner of Farmington, Donald (Dawn) Wagner Jr. of Canandaigua, Bruce (Georgia) Wagner of Canandaigua, Betty (Rodney) Briggs of Canandaigua; special cousin, Todd (Kristin) Harrington of Phelps; close friend, Pamela Parker; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Howard Dwight Hickok

CLIFTON SPRINGS - Howard Hickok, 95, of County Road 27, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006 at Clifton Springs Hospital with his loving family by his side.
In keeping with his wishes, there were no prior calling hours. A memorial service to celebrate Howard's life will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Clifton Springs Baptist Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Riverview cemetery.
Friends may contribute to the Clifton Springs Baptist Church in Howard's memory.
Howard was born Feb. 6, 1910, in Stanley, the son of the late Arthur R. and Katheryn Hickok, and had lived in the area all of his life. He served his country in the Army during World War II. Howard was retired after 30 years of service at the Newark Developmental Center, where he was a mechanic.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia Wheaton Hickok; son, Howard Wayne Hickok of Clifton Springs; niece, Marian Waldron of Ocala, Fla.; and nephew, James Lewis of Waterloo.
He is predeceased by his sisters, Olive Lewis and Doris Fulton.
