Heffron, Edward S. - Edward S. Heffron, 69, of County Road 26, Phelps, died Friday, June 5, 1998 at Geneva General Hospital. Mr. Heffron was born in Hopewell, and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was the son of the late Linus and Katharine Mahan Heffron. Mr. Heffron was a member of Local 832 and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Francis Church. Interment in St. Francis cemetery, Phelps. Bearers were James Heffron, Brian Heffron, James Heffron, Jeff Heffron, David Burgess and Edward Burgess. Surviving are three brothers, Linus P. (Mary) Heffron of Phelps, Gerald F. Heffron of Junius, and James J. (Ann) Heffron of Clifton Springs; two sisters, Katharine M. (Harold) Bunce of Clifton Springs, and Margaret E. (John) Burgess of Newark; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elliott, Nellie H. (Hermenet) - Nellie H. Elliott (Hermenet), 89, of Marion died on June 8, 1998 in Blossom View Nursing Home, Sodus. Interment, Marion cemetery. Widow of Floyd Elliott, she is survived by her devoted daughter, Jane Wilson of Marion; two grandsons, Tim (Arla) Wilson and Randy Wilson; four great-grandchildren; brother, Michael (Elizabeth) Hermenet of Marion; sisters, Elizabeth DeMeyer of Newark, Anna (Raymond) Rommel of Newark, Elsie (Harold) Norsen of Port Orange, FL, Ruth (James) Cheeseman of Port Orange, FL; nieces and nephews.

Kendrick, Cecelia Louise - Cecelia Louise Kendrick, 90, of High Street, Newark, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998 at the ViaHealth of Wayne in Newark (Newark-Wayne Community Hospital). Mrs. Kendrick was born in Newark April 17, 1908, daughter of Edward and Mary Bomeline DeCook. She was a secretary in her earlier years and typist for the National Gypsum Company in Buffalo. She retired from C.H. Stuart Company of Newark.Interment Newark cemetery. She is survived by a granddaughter, Sheila Kendrick of Springfield, VT; three sisters, Beatrice Coughlin of Phelps, Ethel George of Mount Dora, FL, and Elizabeth Donk of Auburn; nieces, Kay Mammano of Lyons, and Marueen George of Newark, and other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Paul Edwin Kendrick in 1965.

Pieters, Cornelius J. - Cornelius J. Pieters, 88, of Palmyra and Clifton Springs, died June 10, 1998. Interment Marion cemetery. He was predeceased by his wife, Leila Davis Pieters; his son, Douglas; brother, Jack and a sister, Geraldine Kemp. He is survived by 3 sons, James (Cynthia) of Clifton Springs, Wayne of Cathedral City, CA, Ronald (Barbara) of Palmyra; daughter-in-law, Nancy Pieters Flowers; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marian (Francis) Dean of Vero Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Rowena Breisch, Newark.

Contant, Donald R. - Donald R. Contant, 76, of Palmyra, died on May 31, 1998. He was a World War II Army Veteran and an auto body shop teacher at BOCES of Williamson and Flint. Interment Marion cemetery. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Cramer. Survived by his niece, Patricia Moshier (Charles) Fagner of Phelps; a cousin, Richard DeCann of Waterloo; and a dear friend Lillian Capron of Palmyra.

Wagner, Robert F. - Robert F. Wagner, 66, of Greig St., Sodus Point, formerly of Rochester and Naples, FL, died at Rochester General Hospital on May 29, 1998. A memorial gathering was held at "Winnie's Waterfront," his home in Sodus Point on May 31. Mr. Wagner was predeceased by his wife, Winnie in 1995. He is survived by four children, Karen E. Wagner of Redway, CA; Stephen R. Wagner of Tampa, FL; Greg D. Wagner of Florence, SC, and Gail D. Wagner of NYC; six grandchildren.

Smith, Norma J. - Norma J. Smith, 71, of East Miller St., Newark, died May 28, 1998 in Newark Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Smith was born Feb. 25, 1927, in Newark. She was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Fisher Coleman. She had worked for C.H. Stuart Inc., and at Jackson & Perkins; she was retired from the Newark Developmental Center. Interment will be in East Newark cemetery. She was predeceased by her husband Leon in 1979. She is survived by a stepson, Steve Smith of Newark; niece, Carol Flanders; three nephews, Douglas and Dennis Flanders, and Charles Fisher; several cousins, including Betty Austin of Newark.

Case, Nellie G. - Nellie G. Case, 91, long time resident of Newark, and Bradenton, FL, died in Clifton Springs Hospital on May 15, 1998. Mrs. Case was born May 2, 1907, in Canada. She was a retired sales clerk and purchasing manager for Chaffee stores. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 1020 of East Rochester; Amitie Chapter 473; Silver Link Lodge 230; the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Interment in the Newark cemetery. Mrs. Case is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Clara Williams of Chapin; seven grandchildren: Ann D. Brady of Dover, PA; Jack D. Williams of Kerhonkson; Jonathan A. Williams of Cockeysville, MD; Darryl Williams of Farmington; Paula Chrysler of Manchester; William Nowicki of Bergen; Bruce Weaver of Macedon; 27 great-granchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dorell Weaver and two grandchildren, Douglas Williams and Terry Tuttle.

Plain, Sandra J. - Sandra J. Plain, 48, of Driving Park Circle, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at ViaHealth of Wayne, Newark Campus (Newark-Wayne Community Hospital).Mrs. Plain was born December 8, 1949 in Newark, the daughter of Peter J. and Eleanor Coleman Kraus. Interment in the Fairville cemetery. She is survived by her husband Ronald, children Marcia (Jeffrey Hubbard), Kerri, Ronald III, Danielle and Matthew Plain; a grandson, Nicholas Hubbard; her mother Eleanor Kraus, all of Newark. Also surviving are two brothers Richard Kraus of Palmyra, and Robert (Tracey) Kraus; nephew, Robert and niece, Tiffany Kraus of Newark.

East, Marian M. - Marian M. East, 70, of Marion, died June 1, 1998. Interment in Marion cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Gerald R. East; three sons, Gerald Jr. (Patricia) of Marion, Thomas (Mary Beth) of Penfield, and Jeffrey (Robyn) of Palmyra; 6 granddaughters; brother, Alvin (Helen) Moore of Sodus; and sister, Alice Best, of Sanford, FL.

Gentile, Sebastiano - Sebastiano Gentile, 66, of 622 S. Main St., Newark, died Tuesday, June 2, 1998 at Newark-Wayne Hospital (ViaHealth). Sebastiano was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Taverna, Italy and was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria Durante Gentile. He was a superintendent with the DeFlore Construction Co. of Rochester for many years before his retirement. He was a member of Laborers Local 435 in Rochester, the Sons of Italy Lodge 2397, and St. Francis Church. Entombment in St. Mary's Mausoleum. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rosa Fratto Gentile, who passed away Aug. 30, 1987. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Gentile; sons, Salvatore (Theresa) Gentile of Geneva, Fausto (Terri) Gentile of Ithaca; a daughter, Maria Gentile of Geneva; stepchildren, Francis (Cecile) Ruffalo of Newark, Michael (Anita) Ruffalo of Atlanta, GA, Daniel (Mary Jo) Ruffalo of Charlotte, NC, Anne (Frank) Bullock and Lisa (Bill) Herman, both of Newark; brothers, Domenico (Rita) Gentile, Eugenio (Caterina) Gentile, Romano (Sarina) Gentile, Rosario (Titina) Gentile, and Mario (Lucia) Gentile, all of Italy; a sister, Rosa Vari of Italy; 20 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Antonio.

Waldorf, Maurice "George" - Maurice "George" Waldorf, 86, of Wolcott, died May 18, 1998 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Maurice was born in the town of Huron, on October 22, 1911, a son to Maurice and Lillian Richardson Waldorf, and had been a life long resident of the area, having been self-employed as a watch maker and repairman. Interment at Huron Evergreen cemetery. He is survived by one son, Maurice G. of Dundee; four daughters, Sandy (Bob) Marshall of Wolcott, Connie (Al) Frank of Newark, Sharon (Charles) Reuss of Arizona and Carol (Allen) Mann of North Carolina; son stepson, Eddie Hall of North Carolina; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Richardson and Joyce Grass, both of North Rose; nieces and nephews.

Pellicano, Peter R. - Peter R. Pellicano, 74, of Davis Drive, Newark, died June 2, 1998 at ViaHealth-Rochester General. Mr. Pellicano was born May 24, 1924 in Canandaigua, the son of Anthony and Mary Muzencca Pellicano. Pete was a barber in Newark for 48 years, retiring in 1986. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church and a member of the Newark Elks Lodge. For years, Pete was involved with the youth programs of Newark. Interment in Newark cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Catherine; son, Peter Jr. (Janet) of Newark; daughters, Mary (Andy) Miller of Newark, Ann (David) Hough of Keene, NY; three grandchildren, Sara Pellicano, Katie and Ricky Miller; a sister, Nancy; two brothers, Angelo and Louie Pellicano of Newark; several nieces and nephews.

Quinn, Albert J. - Albert J. Quinn, 73, of Newark died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at ViaHealth of Wayne, Newark Campus (Newark-Wayne Community Hospital). Mr. Quinn was born Nov. 19, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Enos P. and Edna Malone Quinn. He retired in 1990 from Fold-Pak, where he worked for over 40 years as a lithographic plate maker. Al served with the U.S. Marines during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was a member of the Marine Corps League of the Mohawk Valley. Interment in Riverview cemetery, Phelps, with military honors. Mr. Quinn is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Slade) Quinn; son, William of Gloversville; daughters, Nancy (Gary) Colgrove of Clifton Springs, Patricia (Thomas) Rizzo of Newark, and stepdaughter, Tracy Schiavetta of Rochester; eight grandchildren, Jason Rizzo, Gretchen Alberti, Ginat Rizzo, Angela Rizzo, Jennifer Colgrove, Tisha Sweeney, William A. Quinn, Sarah Quinn; and three great-grandchildren, Cory Quinn, Casey Quinn and Natalie Sweeney; brother, Joseph of North Wales, PA; three sisters, Marian Stmonovitch of Cornwell Heights, PA, Rosemary Morris of Haddon Heights, NJ, and Edna Fiet of Caledonia, NY; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Donald Quinn.

Housecamp, John J. - John J. Housecamp, 94, of County Road 23, Phelps, died on May 20, 1998. Mr. Housecamp was born in Glen Rock, NJ August 3, 1904, son of Jacob and Katherine Wouckman Housecamp. He worked for Stott's Dry Cleaners in Newark for 17 years and 10 years for the Village of Newark. Mr. Housecamp lived many years in Newark, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church Interment in East Newark cemetery. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Patrina Housecamp of Newark; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rhoda, in 1991, and a son, Richard, in 1984.

Ogrodowski, Robert Lee - Robert L. Ogrodowski, 61, of East Avenue, Newark died on May 23, 1998 at his home. Mr. Ogrodowski was born May 26, 1936 in Rochester, the son of Bruce and Helen Kanopa Ogrodowski. Bob was a popular restaurant owner in Wayne County for many years. He had served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Interment in Sodus Rural cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Jeanne (Mayhew) Ogrodowski; daughters Leeann (Charles) Foss, Joyce Ogrodowski and Debra Ogrodowski, all of Newark; son David (Bobbie) Ogrodowski of Manchester; five grandchildren, Michael Foss, Andrea Murphy, Daniele Ogrodowski, Andrew Ogrodowski and Cassandra Hazlett. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Jr., in 1983.

Beckens, Peter - Peter Beckens, age 85 of Wayne Center Rd., Sodus died at Myers Hospital on May 23, 1998. Friends called Tuesday at the Norton Funeral Home in Sodus where Funeral services followed. Interment in Sodus Rural cemetery. He is survived by Dorothy, his wife of 64 years; daughter, Eleanor Clark of Sodus Point; three sons, Gerald (Marie), Donald (Sharon) and Harold, all of Sodus; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

O'Neal, Josephine H. - Josephine H. O'Neal, 78, of Newark, died Wednesday, May 20, 1998 in Sanford, FL. Mrs. O'Neal was born in Newark, Sept. 15, 1919, the daughter of Henry and Lena Norsen. Interment in Port Gibson cemetery. She is survived by her husband Jennings (Shorty) O'Neal; four granddaughters, Carolyn Jaeger of Rochester, Sharon Bade of Marion, Donna Cianfoni of Canandaigua, and Judy Tidd of Shortsville; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Boisvert, Luella H. - Luella H. Boisvert, 88, of East Maple Avenue, Newark, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Luella was born May 20, 1909, in Plainview, MN, the daughter of the late Carl and Amalia Janke. She was a member of the Western Presbytertan Church in Palmyra. Interment in South Lyons cemetery. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Breitkopf, Stephanie R. - Stephanie R. Breitkopf of Palmyra died on May 23, 1998 in the Clifton Springs Nursing Home. She was 26 years old. Interment in the Oakwood cemetery, Theresa, NY. Stephanie is survived by her parents, Stanley and Lona Breitkopf; her sisters Melissa, Michelle, Sarah and Emily Breitkopf; grandparents, Irving and Caroline Breitkopf of Rochester and Clifford and Phyllis Carr of Theresa, NY.

Coomber, Paul R. - Paul R. Coomber passed away on May 23, 1998 at his home at 124 Lincoln Road, Newark, after an extended illness. He was 70 years old Paul was born on June 2, 1927 in Rochester, NY to John and Laura (Lawson) Coomber. He was a member of The American Legion Post #457 in Phelps, The Palmyra Moose Club and The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #832. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Interment in Palmyra cemetery. Paul is survived by his wife, Helen Coomber; his sons, Douglas (Cindy) Coomber of Williamson, Jeffrey (Marilyn) Coomber of Ontario, John (Anita) Coomber of Lancaster, PA; daughters, Pamela (Gary) DeLyser of Williamson and Tracy (Jon) Ohara of Sodus Point; stepchildren, John (Sally) Switzer, Paul (Cindy) Switzer and Kristina (Al) Hendikse of Sodus, Mary Ann (Don) Vogel of Canandaigua and Carol Ceravolo of CT; 20 grandchildien, one greatgrandchild; sisters, Ellen Coomber of Newark and Janice (Don) Haag of Mariposa, CA; a niece and nephew.

Ziegler, Margaret T. - Margaret T. Ziegler, formerly of West Irondequoit, died on May 26, 1998 at age 87. Interment Palmyra cemetery. She is survived by her sister-in-law Sophie Ziegler; nephews, Karl Louis (Sandy) Ziegler, Paul Ziegler, Charles (Teri) Ziegler; great nieces & nephews, Jeff, Karley, Kim, Michael, Jenny, and Amy.
