David E. Moran, 89, of Cedar Village Apartments, Parish, died Monday. Born in Bridgeport, Conn., he lived in Albion 24 years before moving to Parish in 1981. He worked at Carrier Corp. for 13 years and Oswego County Highway Department for 13 years and retired in 1975. He was a member of American Legion Post 1757 in Sackets Harbor. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 45 years, the former Isabelle Warren; a daughter, Patricia Demott of Connecticut; three stepdaughters, Patricia Meredith and Elaine Barnard, both of Central Square, and Mary Ann Christmas of Camden; two grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; several stepgreat-grandchildren. Services and burial: Private. No calling hours. Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, has arrangements.

Gerald B. O'Brien

Gerald B. O'Brien, 75, of North Charleston, S.C., died Monday. Born in Cortland, he graduated from Solvay High School and lived in Syracuse until 1962. Among survivors: A sister, Odette Lamirande of Baldwinsville. Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville, and 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Gary Byron Roher, 48, of 2263 Milton Ave., Solvay, died Friday. Born in Oneida, he graduated from Camden High School and Onondaga Community College and lived in Jewell most of his life before moving to Solvay. He worked in the warehouse of AmeriCold Logistics. His parents, Dorothy Fisher Roher and Byron Roher, died previously. Survivors: A half sister, Brenda Bartlett of Utica; four half brothers, Larry, Randy and Ron Bartlett, all of Florida, and Mike Bartlett of Durhamville. Services and calling hours: None. Phyllis M. Spencer

Phyllis M. Kellogg Spencer, 75, of Georgetown,  Texas, died June 29. Born in Hornell, she graduated from Hornell High School and lived in Nedrow 42 years before moving away eight years ago. She retired as a central service technician for Community General Hospital. Her husband, Douglas L., died May 3. Survivors: Three sons, Stephen of Georgetown, William of Marion, Ind., and Phillip of Brewerton; two sisters, Ester Hughes of Utica and Clessa Allen of Gainesville, Ga.; a brother, Richard Kellogg of Allegany; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Evelyn C. Vollmer

Evelyn C. Vollmer, 95, of Bellevue Manor, Syracuse, died Sunday. Born in Syracuse, she graduated from North Syracuse High School. She lived in Potsdam many years before moving to Bellevue Manor a few years ago. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Potsdam, a member and former matron of Vega Chapter 98, Order of the Eastern Star, Potsdam, and former grand chaplain of the state OES. Her husband, Wesley, died in 1968. Survivors: A son, Raymond of Camillus; a daughter, Kathryn Mellon of Closter, N.J.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Seymour Funeral Home. Burial, Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Evelyn R. Weinrauch

Evelyn Rita Fox Weinrauch, 84, of 311 W. Seneca St., Manlius, died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, she lived in New York City from 1948 until returning to Syracuse in 1993. She retired in 1979 as head bookkeeper and purchasing agent for the Federation of Jewish Philanthropic Organizations in New York City. She was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and Onondaga Post 131 Jewish War Veterans. She was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors: Her husband of 52 years, Joseph; a daughter, Audrey Weinrauch of Fayetteville; a brother, Morton Fox of Boynton Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Burial, Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. Calling hour, 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1909 E. Fayette St., Syracuse. Mary Luella Gotham Cook, 71, of Murray Street, Auburn, died Wednesday. She was born in Hermon. She was a health care and private duty aide and worked for Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center in Auburn. Survivors: Four daughters, Doreen, Dianna, Delores and Delia; three sons, Douglas, Daryl and Dale Sr.; one sister; four brothers; 18 grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Elizabeth K. Newell Ehrlich, 83, of Saranac Lake died Sunday. Born in Syracuse, she lived in Weedsport most of her life before moving to Saranac Lake in 1989. She worked for Bar Typewriter Co. during World War II. She and her husband collected antiques for Ehrlich's Antique Shop. Her husband, Wilbert O., died in 1981. Survivors: Two daughters, Stepheni E. Barber of Saranac Lake and Sandra J. Ehrlich of Cayuga; a son, Seymour K. Lofft of Port Byron; two grandchildren. Services: Private. Burial, Weedsport Rural Cemetery. William S. French

William S. French, 90, of Forest City, N.C., died July 11. Born in Cortland, he graduated from Cornell University in 1936. He had lived in Cicero and also lived in Baldwinsville from 1970 to '75. He had owned the Star Motel in Cicero in the 1960s. Among survivors: A daughter, Linda Youngs of Sherburne; a son, David B. of Baldwinsville. Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden, has arrangements.

Robert L. Galster

Robert L. Galster, 86, of Winter Haven, Fla., died July 11 of a stroke. Born in Syracuse, he lived there 60 years until moving away in 1976. He graduated from Eastwood High School. He retired from Marine Midland Bank. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Winter Haven and Rock Glen Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion for 57 years. He was an Army veteran. His first wife, Mary Louise, died in 1985. Survivors: His wife of 16 years, the former Thelma Nelson; a daughter, Diane Knowlton of Syracuse; a son, Kenneth of Littleton,  Colo.; three stepchildren; three grandsons; a great-granddaughter; four stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren. He retired in 1983 as a toolmaker for Smith-Corona-Marchant after 47 years. His first wife, the former Doris Smith, died in 1960. Survivors: His wife of 32 years, the former Elizabeth N. Harrington; two daughters, Linda Sharpe of Fayetteville and Jane Sharpe of Homer; six sons, Donald Ludlow of  Oklahoma City, David Ludlow of Moravia, John Ludlow of Cortland, Frederick Ludlow of Groton, Gary Sharpe of Homer, Joel Sharpe of Orlando, FL and Henry Trokanski of North Dakota; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1951 to '52. Survivors: His wife of 45 years, the former Patricia Kelsh; two daughters, Susan Errico of Auburn and Cindy Marquart of Baldwinsville; three sisters, Mary Davis of Cortland, Elizabeth Crowley of Port Byron and Katherine Kastick of Throop; three grandchildren.
