Parker, David J. - David J. Parker, Port Gibson, 41, died October 15, 1999 at ViaHealth in Newark. David was born November 2, 1957 in Plattsburgh. He graduated from Saranac High School in 1976, and studied at the Modern Welding School in Schenectady. After graduating, he became a welder on the bridge crew of the New York State Dept. of Transportation for over 12 years. Dave enjoyed cooking, was an avid bow hunter and outdoorsman who loved hiking and camping. He is survived by his wife, Tammy (Briggs); daughters, Nikisha and Kaja, both at home; his parents, Charles and Madelyn Parker of Saranac; four brothers, Robert of Saranac, Steven of Cadyville, Allen of Plattsburgh, and Christopher of New Paltz; nieces and nephews.

Rood, Donald E. - Donald E. Rood, 68, of Marion, died Oct. 15, 1999. He was a retired Kodak employee and an avid outdoorsman.He is survived by his wife, Margaret S.; daughters, Lana Leddick and companion Bruce Bassage, Linda (Charles) Lyman Jr.; son, Thomas (Debbie) Christensen; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Charles Rood of East Rochester, Norman Rood, Marion, Gary Rood, Palmyra; 3 sisters, Yvonne Norris and Lorraine Mott of Newark, Rita DeMarco of Rochester.

DeVisser, Pieternella - Pieternella 'Nellie' DeVisser, 79, of Newark, died October 12, 1999 in Esterville, Iowa. Interment in East Palmyra cemetery. Nellie is survived by daughters, Paula (Donald) VanderBrook of Marion, Nellie (Richard) Turner of Marion, Barbara (Fred) VanderVeen of Sibley, Iowa; son, John DeVisser of Webster; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Leen Goedegebuure of Johnson, NY; three sisters and two brothers in Holland. She was predeceased by her husband, David.

Dabb, Albert Henry - Albet Henry Dabb, 88, formerly of Clark, NJ and Port Charlotte, FL, died Sunday, October 17, 1999 at the ViaHealth of Wayne Newark campus. Mr. Dabb was born March 6, 1911 in Linden, NJ, the son of Albert H. and Carrie Blancke Dabb. He was a graduate of Linden High School and Newark College of Engineering. He retired from Exxon (Bayway Refinery) after 40 years as a civil engineer. In 1987, he and his wife, Eleanor, resettled to Port Charlotte, FL, and in 1995 he came to Newark to live with his daughter. Mr. Dabb was an active amatuer radio operator (WZCAY) all his life. He was a member of various organizations including Quarter Century Wireless Association, Peace River Repeater Association, American Littoral Society, American Audubon Society, Clark, NJ Historical Society and NJIT Alumni and Exxon Annuitant groups. Interment in Rosehill cemetery, Linden, NJ. Mr. Dabb is survived by his daughter, Linda (Kurt) Werts of Newark; three grandchildren, Carrie (A.J.) Magnan of Alexandria, VA; Sarah Werts and Matthew Werts, both of Newark; and a great-grandson, John Franklin Magnan. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor, who died in 1990.

Clevenger, Helen J. - Helen J. Clevenger of Newark, 71, died October 20, 1999, at the House of John in Clifton Springs. Helen was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Penn Yan, the daughter of Charlie and Arlie Mae Taylor Breckenridge. She had worked for Seneca Foods and for the C.H. Stuart Company of Newark. She was a life member of the Arcadia Memorial Post V.F.W. in Newark in Newark and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Lyons. She was also a member of the the Woman of the Moose in Berkeley Springs, WV, and a member of A.A.R.P. Helen is survived by her husband of 37 years, John; three stepdaughters, Helen M. Slef of Rusk, TX, Orintha Silver of Flushing, and Sandy of CA; two stepsons, Fred Celevenger of South Butler and Phil Clevenger of Pittsford; two brothers, Robert Breckenridge of Scottsville and Jack Breckenridge of Penn Yan; 10 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Hillman, Mable H. - Mable H. Gresens Hillman, of the DeMay Living Center, age 83, died October 13, 1999. She was predeceased by her husband, Clair in 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Ken) DeKing of Wolcott; son, Richard (Bev) Hillman of Williamson; 3 grandsons and one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren, Anna DeKing and Isaac DeKing both of Newark.

Bridge, Infant Hannah - Hannah Parker Bridge was born on October 16 and died October 17, 1999. She is survived by her parents, Kimberly and Todd Bridge of Macedon; sister, Mykenna and brother, Justin; grandparents, Ronald (Hyang) Smith of Marion, Michael (Linda) Bridge of Greece; great-grandparents, Cyril Smith of Marion and Lucille Bridge of Pittsburgh, PA.

Webb, Infant Mckenzie - Mckenzie Webb, age one month, died unexpectedly Oct. 15, 1999 at Clifton Springs Hospital. Interment in Riverview cemetery. She is survived by her mother, Myranda Webb; her sister, Kayla Webb; her brother, David Webb; her grandmother, Pam Bowles of Newark; great-grandparents, Dallas and Betty Jackson; aunts, uncles and cousins.

McClellan, Margaret - Margaret McClellan, 95, of New Hartford, formerly of Newark, died Oct. 20, 1999 at St. Joseph Nursing Home. Margaret was born Feb. 8, 1904, in Newark, the daughter of the late Joseph Walter and Maveret Williams McClellan. She graduated from Newark Schools in 1921. She received her B.A. degree from Mt. Holyoke College in 1925, and her M.A. from Columbia University in 1934. Miss Margaret McClellan taught History and, Latin in the Carthage Schools from 1925 to 1929. From 1929 until her retirement in 1966, she taught History and Economic at Utica Free Academy. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Utica, its altar society, St. Hilda's Guild, the Society of Companions of the Holy Cross, and was an associate of St. Margaret. She was a 50-year member of the American Assn. of University Women, Mohawk Valley Branch. She was also a member of the New Century Club, the B Sharp Club, the Mt. Holyoke Club and the Clan McClellan. Interment in Newark cemetery. She is survived by brother, Eugene W. McClellan of Newark; several nieces and nephews.

Mattoon, Ida L. - Ida L. Mattoon, 95, of Clifton Springs, died Oct. 21, 1999 at the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic. Interment in Resthaven cemetery. She is survived by her son, Walter G. (Margaret) Mattoon of Clifton Springs; daughter, Dorothy (Vincent) Ross of Clifton Springs; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Raymond) Price of Newark; brother, George (Phyllis) Zeger of Phelps; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Mattoon; daughter, Jean Darling; and son, Robert Mattoon.

Kymble, Lorena E. - Lorena E. Kymble, 76, of Marion, died October 23, 1999. Interment in Marion cemetery. She was a retired Xerox employee and was predeceased by her husband, Robert. She is survived by daughter, Mary Kymble of Waco, TX; two sons, Robert of Marion and John (Susan) of Farmington; granddaughter, Sarah; brother, B. Edward (Ruth) Stafford of Addison, NY; four sisters, Dorothy (William) Rhoton of Irondequoit, Shirley Petralia of Hilton, Ruby (Alonzo) Weber of Sun City, FL and Joan (Max) Mendenhall of Hayward, CA.

Smolinski, David M. - David M. Smolinski, 36, of Lyons, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, October 24, 1999. David was born in Lyons on April 6, 1963, to Peter and Joan Larkin Smolinski. He was an avid hunter, camper, golfer and loved boating. Surviving are his wife Christine of Newark; son, Darren; daughter, Amber; his parents, Peter and Joan Smolinski of North Rose; brother, Dennis (Shannon) Smolinski of Rose; two sisters, Cindy (Robert) Goble of Williamson; Lisa (Jay) Warren of Newark; several nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Kevin and Barry.

Steele, Gloria J. - Gloria J. Steele, 48, of Newark, died Oct. 24, 1999 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Gloria was born Aug. 22, 1951, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Anna Palmer Kirby. Interment in Oaklawn cemetery in Geneva. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Steele; son, Stephen Steele Jr. of Lyons; daughters, Tammy Lynn (Sean) Legg of Geneva and Kristy Ann Buffett of Newark; three grandchildren; brothers, James Kirby of Waterloo and Ralph Edward Kirby of Geneva; sister, Karen (Ray) Lindner of Clyde; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Klomser, Nellie - Nellie Klomser, 86, of Newark, died peacefully at her home, on October 26, 1999 with her sisters by her side. Nellie was born in Palmyra on April 10, 1913 to Joseph and Julie D'Orazio Longoverde. She retired from Fold-Pak in Newark and was a member of St. Michael Church. Interment at Newark cemetery. Nellie is surived by her sisters, Rose Fisher of Florida, Lena Fischette of Clyde, Lucy DiZillo of Geneva and Josephine 'Babe' Coleman of Florida, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth Petrus and Mary Longoverde.

Steurrys, Catherine - Catherine Steurrys, 83, of Palmyra, died October 30, 1999. Interment in Marion cemetery.She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Donald) Storr of Palmyra; three grandsons; three great-granddaughters; her sister, Jennie Boss of Newark; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Abram and a son Rodney.

Swilley, Moses D. - Moses Daniel Swilley, 64, of Lyons/ Newark, died Sunday, October 24, 1999 at ViaHealth of Wayne - Newark. Mr. Swilley was born in Dasher, Georgia on January 28, 1935. He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, where he worked in Roll Coating. He served in the U.S. Navy 1956 to 1960. Interment will be at the Bath Veterans National cemetery in Bath, NY. Mr. Swilley is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Ann Swilley of Rochester; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Smith, Pauline Hinkle and Francis Sparrow; and brother, Laverne Swilley. He was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Rutledge.

Marko, Linda J. - Linda J. Marko, 43, of Lyons, died Sunday Oct. 31, 1999 at Strong Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Linda was born July 24, 1956 in Lyons, a daughter to Richard and Margaret Holland Wadsworth. As a life-long area resident, Linda was employed by Del Rossa Ford and the Wayne County Board of Supervisors, before her illness. Interment in South Lyons cemetery. Surviving are her husband, John A. Marko; two sons, Nicholas and Ryan; brother, Richard (Adelle) Wadsworth, all of Lyons; sister, Kathy (Robert) Eaker of Dunkirk; one aunt, Betty Ann Mastrangelo of Sodus; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Harold P. Knapp; her father, Richard Wadsworth Sr.; and her mother, Margaret Knapp, all in 1999.

Frank, Albert - Albert Frank, 85, of Stanley, formerly of Newark, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan. Mr. Frank was born Oct. 24, 1913 in Phelps, the son of the late Ethern and Alice Rhode Frank. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and the Phelps Odd Fellows Lodge. Interment in Riverview cemetery in Phelps. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Snyder-Frank; two sons, Richard (Yvonne) Frank of Newark and David (Linda) Frank of Newark; daughter, Loretta (Fred) Davie of Geneva; five stepchildren, Carl Snyder of Stanley, Donald Snyder of Dundee, Ann (Robert) Grove of Henrietta, James (Darlene) Snyder of Hall and Edward Snyder of Stanley; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Flowers, Shawn Michael - Shawn Michael Flowers, 20, of Walworth, died October 31, 1999. He was an employee of Dolomite Products Company, Inc., Walworth. Interment in Marion cemetery. He is survived by his father, Van J. (Cheryl) Flowers of Geneva; mother and step-father, Lisa and Paolo Bozzino of Walworth: sister, Angelina Bozzino; special friend, Andrea Holley of Palmyra; grandparents, Pearl (Flowers) Eaton of Marion; Francis (Joan) Flowers of Sun City Center, FL, Helen Spacher of Rochester, Emanuele & Antonietta Bozzino of Greece, NY; aunt, Arla (Timothy) Wilson of Marion; uncle, Herman (Nancy) Flowers of Marion; cousin, Erik Bardo of Marion; several other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; great-aunt, Julia Herman of FL. He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne J. Flowers.

Cosgrove, Rev. James R. - The Rev. James R. Cosgrove, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999. Father Cosgrove was ordained as a priest in 1951 and had served at the following parishes: St. Helen's in Gates, St. Michael's in Newark, and the Blessed Sacrament in Rochester. He also was a pastor at the following parishes: Holy Angels in Nunda, St. Gabriel's in Hammondsport, and St. Mary's in Waterloo. For the last two years, he was the chaplain at St. Mary's and Park Ridge Hospitals. Interment in St. Ann's cemetery in Hornell. He is survived by his brother, the Rev. William J. Cosgrove; sister, Patricia (Robert) Dunning; nieces and nephews, Margaret (Anthony) DiMartino, Ray (Kathy) Dunning, Elizabeth (William) Jesserer, Robert (Mary Ellen) Dunning, Helen (Michael) Riggio, William (Vicky) Dunning, and Carrie (William) Mathias; 20 loving grandnieces and grandnephews; several aunts and uncles.

Cornelius, Richard - Richard Cornelius, 67, of Shortsville, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at his home. He was born March 14, 1932 in Marion, son of Leon and Mary DeRue Cornelius. He was retired from the Pittsford School District, where he had worked as a school bus mechanic. He had served in the U.S. Navy. Interment in Marion cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kelly; daughter, Vickie Cornelius of Rochester; son, Mark (Laura) Cornelius of Newark; stepson, Shane; and six grandchildren.

Palmer, Roger Clayton - Roger Clayton Palmer, 67, of Newark, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999 at Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus. Mr. Palmer was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Newark, the son of Lloyd and Cora Quant Palmer. He was retired from the Finger Lakes Packing Company in Lyons in 1991 with 20 years of service. Interment in South Lyons cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ford; three daughters, Cheryl Horton of Newark, Tina (Mike) Tobin of Seneca Falls and Lori (John) Wood of Clyde; two sons, Darl (Laura) of Newark and Edward (Deb) of Lyons; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Hess of Pennsylvania; brother, Leland Palmer of Alaska; several nieces and nephews.
