Barclay, Hazel - Hazel A. Barclay, 88, died April 29, 2000 at Wayne County Nursing Home. Mrs. Barclay is remembered as a golfer, active at Newark Country Club, one-time member of the Rose City Ensemble singers, member of the Methodist Quilters and Newark Garden Club, a Red Cross volunteer, sales associate at The Paris, and an outstanding Newark citizen. Interment, Newark cemetery.

Renner, Elwood T. - Elwood T. Renner, 77, of Newark, died May 2, 2000. Interment is in East Newark cemetery. He was born June 6, 1922 in Hopewell, to Harry and Anna Dunkle Renner. Elwood was a heavy equipment operator with the Operating Engineers, Local 832, Rochester. In World War II, he served in the Army Engineer Aviation Battalion and took part in the invasions at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He also took part in the battles of Northern France and Rhineland. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, June; sister, Helen Decker of Newark; and wife's sister, Eleanor Swanson of Greensboro, AL; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, and sisters, Edna VandenBussche and Ruth King.

Wunder, Clara (Schneller) - Clara E. A. (Schneller) Wunder, 102, of Newark, died May 2, 2000, at the DeMay Living Center, where she lived since 1994. She was born on October 7, 1897 in and lived in Lyons and Newark. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lyons. Interment in South Lyons cemetery. Surviving are son, Ralph (Edna) Wunder of Penfield; daughter, Doris McCartney of Newark; granddaughter, Sharon Rothfuss of Newark: great-grandchildren, Heather and Charles: nieces and nephews. Her husband Henry A. Wunder died in 1997 at age 96.

Olmstead, Richard - Richard Allen Olmstead, of Boston, MA, formerly of Geneva, died April 9, 2000. Richard was born Oct. 23, 1946, in Geneva, the son of Frederick Law and Louise Varno Olmstead. He was a 1964 graduate of Geneva High School, received his bachelor's degree from the State University College at New Paltz, and his master's of science from the University of Arizona. He was a substance-abuse counselor, who dedicated his life to others. Interment at Glenwood cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Louise Varno Olmstead of Newark; his sister, Patricia Wilson of Geneva; brothers, Frederick (Ann) Law Olmstead III of Hawaii, Eugene (Linda) Olmstead of Elmira and Ronald (Debbie) Olmstead of Boston, Mass.; and several nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his father.

VanStrien, Sally - Sally VanStrien, 91, formerly of Marbletown Road, Newark, died May 3, 2000 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. She was born October 30, 1908 to William and Sara Dejaeger VanStrien in Zeeland, Holland. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm on Marbletown Road. Interment in East Newark cemetery. She is survived by her sister, Leonora Maine of Palmyra; step-brother, Dennis VanStrien; stepsisters, Mary DeMink and Trudy Longrod; sister-in-law, Margaret DeLeeuw; one niece and two nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John DeLeeuw, who died on September 21, 1994.

Parker, Lawrence - Lawrence P. Parker, 62, of Arcadia-Zurich Rd., Newark, died May 3, 2000 in Clifton Springs Hospital. Larry was born September 15, 1937 in Wrightstown, Pennsylvania to Perry and Mary German Parker. He was married to Dolores 'Pokie' Bush on June 19, 1981, at the Port Gibson home of her parents. Larry was a retiree of Mobil Chemical in Macedon. Interment will be in Port Gibson cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dolores 'Pokie' Bush Parker; sons, Karl (Judy) Parker of Hilton, Gary (Linda) Parker and Michael Parker of Lyons, Larry Parker of Williamson and Darrin (Kim) Parker of Elmira; brothers, Leon (Sandra) Parker of Bradford, PA and Lynford (Linda) Parker of Westfield, PA; sisters, Jocelyn Parker, Joyce (Stery) Root and Jacqueline (James) Mills of Westfield, PA, Joan Harding of Knoxville, PA and Jane Ames of Bath; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by a brother Harry Parker, and sisters, Janet Parker and Lois Parker.

DeMott, Michael - Michael J. DeMott, 83, formerly of Webster, died in Port St. Lucie, FL, on May 2, 2000. Michael was a lifelong member of the Real Estate Board of Rochester, and a WWII veteran. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; sons, Edward J. (Mary Kathleen) and Thomas J. (Lynne); daughters, Michelle (Charles) Cadden Of CA and Charlene (Randy) Rezabek; 10 grandchildren: 2 brothers, Philip (Joan) and James; sister, Mary DeMott; nieces, nephews.

Hill, Richard - Richard R. Hill, 29, of Newark, died suddenly on May 6, 2000. He is survived by his parents, Warren and Barbara Hill; three sisters, Pamela Hill, Katherine Hill and Amanda Hill, all of Sodus; grandmother, June Hill of Olean; grandfather, Ray (Madelyn) Bryant of Englewood, FL; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a 1989 graduate of Sodus Central School. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Chester Hill, and grandmother, Augusta Bryant.

Stevens, Steve - Steve R. Stevens, 42, of Sodus/Lyons, died May 6, 2000. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Debra (Meyers) Stevens; daughters, Becky and Kristine Stevens both at home; parents, Leonard and Mildred (Morgan) Stevens of Wolcott; brothers, Ernest Stevens and Robert (Cathy) Stevens; sisters, Carol (Sam) Crum, Dawn (John) Dobson, Sandra Stevens, Joyce (Dale) Rogers; grandmother, Erma Douglas; father- and mother-in-law, Leslie and Joan Meyers; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces nephews, aunts and uncles. Predeceased by brother, Richard and sisters, Darlene and Sue Ann.

Morrissey, Ruth (Glover) - Ruth M. Morrissey (Glover), 91, of Brighton, formerly of Newark, died May 4, 2000. Interment in White Haven. Survived by daughter, Kathleen (James) Glover; grandson, James E. Glover, II; granddaughter, Katherine F. Glover; 5 sisters, Margaret DiSanto, Hazel Lang, Gladys VerMeersch, Dorothy Kamm, Alice Rickenbacker; three brothers, Russell (Betty) Pelow, William, and Richard Pelow; sister-in-law, Anna Keenan; brother-in-law, John R. Stevenson; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, P. Francis Morrissey.

Bowerman, Wilma - Wilma 'Cooky' Bowerman, 83, of Newark, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Wilma was born July 26, 1916 in Clyde, the daughter of Hart and Lulu Mae McCarthy Cookman. She retired in 1979 from the Newark Developmental Center with 25 years of service. She worked for the Federal Government in the Far East, Tokyo, and for Social Security in Chicago for 10 years. She was a member of the O.E.S, Chapter #100 of Clyde, the Top of the Hill Retirees Club, the Wayne County Humane Society, the Newark Public Library and the Arcadia Senior Citizens. She had also played trombone in the Clyde Saxton Band. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Newark-Wayne Hospital Auxiliary Twigs. A graveside service was held at East Newark cemetery. She is survived by several cousins, Betty Hill of Manlius and Leon Cookman of North Carolina; and several friends including, Sharon Tellier and Barb and John Ochs of Newark. She was predeceased by her husband, Col. Thomas Bowerman in 1994.

May, Helen - Helen Irene Hansen May, 103, died April 28, 2000, in St. Petersburg FL. Born in Cambridge MA, to Marie Friis Hansen and Hans Christian Hansen, originally from Denmark. She was a graduate of the High School of Practical Arts in Boston. In 1984 she was an extra for the movie 'Cocoon' and appeared in the opening scene. Graveside services in St. Petersburg, FL. She is survived by nieces, Deborah Hall Hansen-Taylor of Newark, Priscilla W. Allen of MD, Cynthia Lasserre of Paris, France, and Kristin Steele of OH and FL; nephews, Winslow W. Wright of WA and Leonard M. Wright of NY.

Welly, Louise - Louise Welly, 96, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Newark, died May 1, 2000 at Sunburst Rehabilitation center in Bradenton. She is survived by her daughters, Norma Miller and Phylis Levy; grandaughters Karen, Kim and Kyle Miller, and Kathy Levy; niece Dottie Langenstein; other nieces and nephews.

Baker, Gertrude - Gertrude K. Brink Baker, 80, of Newark, died May 7, 2000, at DeMay Living Center. Mrs. Baker was born on April 11, 1920 in Holland, the daughter of Lukas and Harriet Myers Kamminga. She retired from the Newark Development Center in 1981 and then was active in the foster grandmother program for seven years. Interment in East Palmyra cemetery. She is survived by a daughter Harriet Farnworth of Clyde; granddaughter Beth (Thomas) Castle of Colts Neck, NJ; grandsons, Clarence Lumadue and Justus Farnsworth, Jr. both of Clyde; two great-grandsons, and cousins in Churchville. She was predeceased by her husbands Clarence Brink in 1963 and George Baker in 1971.

Beerens, Abram - Abram J. Beerens, 93, died May 10, 2000, at the Via-Health of Wayne -Newark Campus. Mr. Beerens was born to Jacob and Maria Tellier Beerens on April 3, 1907 in Holland. He retired frorn C.H. Stuart Co., in 1967 after working there as a private chauffeur for 40 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, serving on the Vestry Board. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jane VanGee Beerens; son and daughter-in-law, David and Marylee Beerens of Bloomfield; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Interment at East Newark cemetery. Mr. Beerens was predeceased by his son Ronald in 1982 and his brother Jacob.

Kudla, Irene - Irene Kudla, 83, formerly of the Boyle Center, died May 9, 2000, at the Finger Lakes Center for Living, following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Auburn. She was born on May 28, 1916 to Frank and Agnes Doyle Walker. She attended local schools including Holy Family Holy School. She was a homemaker, dedicating much of her time to her family. Mrs. Kudla was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Fleming. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Kudla of Denver; three sons, Richard (Carol) Kudla of West Palm Beach, FL; David (Marie) Kudla of Newark, Donald (Anne) Kudla of Port Byron; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; cousin Jane Shambo and close friend Camille Donovan, both of Auburn; niece and nephew. Her husband John Kudla predeceased her in 1975.

Neal, Eleanor F. - Eleanor F. Neal, 75, of Honeoye and Newark, died May 10, 2000. She was a member of the Canadice Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. (Donald) Jackie Ward of Sodus; sons, Brian and James White of Florida; and a grandson, Christopher. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1998.

Amos, Eleanor Wright Otto - Eleanor Wright Otto Amos, 81, formerly of Marion, died April 1, 2000, in the Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. Eleanor graduated from Marion High School in 1936 and attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. Her father, the Rev. Otto, was a former pastor at the Baptist Church in Marion. Interment in Port Kent, NY. She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Carl Amos; son, David of Farmington Hills, Michigan; daughter, Dr. Deborah Cohen of Seattle; brother, Cornelius Otto of Garden City, SC; and sister, Genevieve Spoerer of Crossville, Tennessee.

Ghyzels, Jennie L. (Leenhouts) - Jennie L. (Leenhouts) Ghyzels of Williamson, died Thursday, May 11, 2000 in her 95th year. She was a retiree from Garlock Inc. in Palmyra, and a life member of the Williamson Reformed Church. Interment will be in Marion cemetery. She is survived by her son, Isaac (Dolores) Willemsen of Newark, daughters, Betty (Ralph) Vanderlinde of Newark and Dorothy (Gary) Ehrhardt of Newark; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Alvord (Catherine) VanHall of Georgia, Lorraine (Edwin) Jagnow of Pultneyville and Elda (Donald) Hermenet of Williamson; sister, Viola (Kelsey) Teetor of Canandaigua and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Isaac Willemsen, John VanHall and Frank Ghyzels.

Clarke, Mary L. - Mary L. Clarke, 40, of Spencer St., Lyons, died at her home on Thursday, May 11, 2000, after an extended illness. Mary was born Oct. 25, 1959, in Waterloo, a daughter of John and Ruth Eckert Henninger. Interment at Whitehaven Memorial Park, Rochester. She is survived by her husband, Bruce of Lyons; two daughters, Sara (Hassan) Cora of Newark and Stephany Chuley of Hopewell; stepdaughter, Chastity Wichurn of Lyons; grandson, Duvante Core of Newark; parents, John and Ruth Eckert Henninger of Clyde; five brothers, John Henninger of Seneca Falls, David Henninger of Newark, Daniel Henninger of Walworth, Dennis Henninger and Robert Henninger of Newark; five sisters, Millie Wilson of North Rose, Margaret Tynes of Dublin, Ida and Lucy Henninger of Clyde and Doris Henninger of Phelps; nieces, nephews, cousins an uncles.

Pallotti, Rafe Rita - Rafe Rita Paliotti, 85, of Montezuma St., Lyons, died May 11, 2000 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Rafe was born Jan. 22, 1915, in Lyons, the daughter of Louis and Susan Vitaro Cinelli. She retired from Parker-Hannifin in Lyons in 1975 and worked for the Foster Grandparents Program for 16 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Church. Interment in South Lyons cemetery. She is survived by a son, John (Phyllis) of Lyons; one grandson, Justin; three brothers, Frank and Eugene Cinelli of Lyons and Arthur of Clyde; sister, Rose Mason of Newark; nieces and nephews; and two step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip S. in 1965; and their son, Philip A. in 1999.

Blauvelt, Ida May - Ida May Blauvelt, 87, of Newark, died May 11, 2000, at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Ida was born June 13, 1912 in Mount Morris, the daughter of William and Ella Wright. She moved from Mount Morris at an early age and graduated from Canandaigua High School. She worked at F.F. Thompson Hospital and the Hotel Pickering from many years. She moved to Florida in 1968, where she worked at the Halifax District Hospital and the Sun Tan Motel in Daytona Beach. She was a member of the Newark First Baptist Church, the RSVP and the American Legion. Interment in East Newark cemetery. She is survived by her son, George (Pamela) Blauvelt; daughters, Nancy (Charles) Race, Mary Jane English, Suzanne (David) Simmons, Patricia Blauvelt, Sandra Passalacqua, Bonnie Thompson and Linda Brink; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and special fliends, Elmer and Sheila Mollenkopf. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Terri Lee Simmons, in 1988.
