Survived by his wife Evelyn; children Jim (Linda), Judy Stackowski, Gary (Dawn), Paul (Denise); 7 grandchildren, April, Heather, Arianna, Ann, Julia, Evan, Kyler; sisters, Lucille & Eleanor Schwind, Pauline Meyer. Frank was an Eagle Scout, a WWII Navy Veteran, a founding member of O.V.E.S. and actively served as a board member of Wayne County Rural Ministry / Come-unity Center. Friends are invited to call Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario. His Funeral Service will be held 10AM Thursday at Ontario Center Presbyterian Church. Brew, Lester Thomas, Sr.

MACEDON - Died on April 21, 2007 at age 85 at The Bickford Home. Predeceased by his wife of 62 years Alena "Tootsie" (VanDerLyke) Brew; daughter Alyce Tighe, son Tom Brew, parents Joseph Raymond & Minnie (Gee) Brew, brother Raymond Brew, sister Geraldine Brew, half-brothers Fred, Ernest, Tracy, & Carlton Updike. Survived by granddaughter Ellyn Tighe of Campton, NH; grandsons, Jarett (Cynthia) Tighe of Lynchburg VA, Jay (Tammy) Brew of Hornwell, Jason (Renee) Brew of Wellsville; sister Minnie Brew of NC; sister-in-law Sarah VanDerLyke of Rochester; son-in-law John Michael Tighe of Rochester; daughter-in-law Pauline Brew of Hornell; several nieces & nephews. He was born in Rochester on July 8, 1921. He served in the Army 1942-1944 & was in combat in Europe & Northern Africa & was a member of Wolcott American Legion Post 881. He was raised in Rochester where he retired from Eastman Kodak Paper Products Division in 1978. He lived for over 40 years on Five Mile Line Road in Webster, then resided in Wolcott since 1985. He enjoyed a cottage on Millen Bay in Cape Vincent for over 40 years. A Memorial Gathering will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Lester’s name to Wolcott Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (WAVAC).

Richard Alphons Lang

Died unexpectedly on March 23, 2007. Survived by his wife of 51 years Bernice; children, Rick (Lynn), Roy, Bonnie (Steve) Hyman, Rob; grandchildren Nicole, Krystal, Breanna, Austin & many supportive friends. Born to Erma & Alphons Lang on August 29, 1933 in Rochester, N.Y. Attended Aquinas & Webster schools where he was an avid participant in school sports. Served in the National Guard after High School. Worked as a truck driver, retired from Barkley & Fowler in 1993. Spent winters on Pine Island in S.W. Florida & summers in Newark, N.Y. with his family. Loved sports & especially watching his children & grandchildren compete. Enjoyed camping, traveling, & spending time with his family & friends. ONTARIO - Was greeted by God & the Angels suddenly on April 12, 2007 at age 21. Ray, Jacqueline "Jackie"

PALMYRA - Died on April 9, 2007 at age 55 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Predeceased by her parents Jack & Elizabeth Smith; brother Francis. Survived by her devoted husband Robert; loving sons Richard Hoad (Suzie Bouwens), Jeffery Hoad, Paul Ray; grandchildren, Steven, Richard, Gerald Hoad, Lori Beth; great grandson Steven Jr.; brother Vernon (Alice) Smith; sisters, Karen (Dave) Dennie, Betty Whyman (Paul DeMay), Nella (Mike) Bloomstrom; aunts, Shirley Koester, Esther Rush; uncle Francis Rush; many nephews, in-laws, cousins & friends too numerous to list. Jackie touched the lives of everyone she met & will be missed by all. Nowak, Clara J.

PALMYRA - Was called to rest in her Saviors arms on April 7, 2007. The daughter of the late John & Julia Nowak. Clara was predeceased by her brother Daniel. Clara was a Felician Sister, Franciscan Order of Enfield, CT, where she was known as Sister Mary Rosalie. Clara was a teacher in several schools throughout New England & New York. In 1975 she moved to Palmyra. Clara is survived by 3 brothers, Leo (Rita), Benedict (Rose) Nowak, both of Florida, NY & Sylvester "Tony" (Mary) Nowak of Colorado Springs, CO; sister Dorothy (Gerald) Scheer of Palmyra; several nieces & nephews. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Thursday, April 12 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne’s Church 136 Church St, Palmyra. Memorials in memory of Clara may be directed to St. Anne’s Church. Lewis, Edith L.

ONTARIO / ALTON: Died on April 6, 2007 at age 87. Predeceased by her husband Harry I. Lewis & brothers & sisters. Survived by daughter PeggyAnn E. (Bud) Joslin; brother Lewis (Helen) Bookman; grandchildren, Kenneth (Mary Santangelo) Dickinson, Renee (Robert) Camp, Rachel (John) Cody; great-granddaughter Elizabeth Cody; close friend Nancy Day; former son-in-law Fred Dickinson; numerous nieces, nephews, family & friends. Edith was a life member of Eastern Star Oatka Chapter & the Ontario Volunteer Ambulance Association. No prior calling. Services & interment are private. Walker, Peggy O.

WALWORTH - Died on April 5, 2007. Predeceased by her father, Alexander Murrell. Survived by her husband James; mother Betty Murrell; sister Jean (Richard) Johnson; 3 brothers, Glenn (Susan), Gary (Judy), Ted Murrell; brother-in-law Robert (Karen) Walker; father-in-law William Walker; nieces, nephews & friends. Services & interment will be held at a later date. Peggy was the recipient of a heart & lung transplant. The family wishes to thank all who helped with her care. ONTARIO - Died on April 3, 2007. Predeceased by her husband Roger & daughter Bonnie. Survived by her son Eugene (Tammy) Snyder; 3 brothers; 2 sisters. Giambattista, Natalie Patricia

After a brief battle with cancer, she died on March 27, 2007 at age 16. Beloved daughter of Dave (Catherine) Giambattista; sister of Sean (Lauren), Emily, Aaron, Allison, Dana; granddaughter of Beryl Giambattista, Wilfred Pliler; niece of Gloria Pliler-Medina, Will Pliler, LaVerne Robbins, Brian Giambattista, Alan Giambattista; & her cousins. Natalie was an honor student at Fairport High School who participated in tennis, track, cross- country skiing. She played tuba in the band & piano. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Fairport Ward), who faithfully attended daily early morning seminary. She enjoyed participating in the Hill Cumorah Pageant cast annually. Natalie enjoyed making friends, developing those relationships & will be missed immensely by family, friends & all knew her. She loved God, had a zest for life & brought joy to those around her. She is our angel & will be missed forever. Switzer, Jeannette D. (Wolf)

ONTARIO - Died on March 22, 2007 at age 89. Born November 10, 1917 in Rochester, NY. Daughter of Eugene Harold & Madeline Irma Eichhorn Wolf. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband, John E. Switzer, on July 25, 1961. Survived by her son, James E. (Sharyl) Switzer of Ontario, daughter Jean Marie (David) Martin of St. Agatha, Maine; grandsons, Andrew James Walden, II, of Ontario, & Kurt Alexander Walden, of St. Agatha & Bangor, Maine; granddaughter Kacie Lyn Switzer, of Ontario; sister-in-law Edna Mc Knight of Rochester; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & nephews, cousins, & their families; many dear friends; her bridge partners in Ontario & at Sage Harbor @ Bay Winde. Graduate of Nazareth Academy, Class of 1936, & Rochester Business Institute. She worked at Defender Photo Corporation in Rochester prior to her marriage during WW II & then in New York City following the war when her husband was a field scout executive for the Boy Scouts of America on Staten Island. She moved to Ontario in 1949 from Rochester when her husband moved from Walworth High School to teach in the newly formed Wayne Central School District. Following the sudden death of her husband in 1961, she worked in clerical & food service departments at Wayne Central High School prior to joining the staff of Norman R., Loomis, M.D. & Terry Goff, M.D., in Ontario, where she worked as office manager for some 12 years prior to her election as Ontario Town Clerk. She served as town clerk, registrar of vital statistics & as receiver of taxes & assessments for the Town of Ontario from January 1, 1974 until her retirement on April 30, 1986. After her retirement, she started an 18-year real estate career, associated with the former Century 21 Robusto office in Ontario. After 43 years of maintaining her own home on South Slocum Road in Ontario, she moved to Sage Harbor at BayWinde in Penfield/West Webster &, for the past two weeks, to Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus, where she resided at the time of her death. Jeannette was a devout member of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church in Ontario for more than 57 years, including many years as a member of the Rosary-Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Stephen Ministry, & the morning mass group. She was a charter member of the Ontario Women’s Civic Club & helped organize & operate the medical loan closet for local residents. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society @ BayWinde Senior Living Center, member & former treasurer of the Walworth-Ontario Presenters, member of the Town of Ontario Historical & Landmark Preservation Society, the Highland Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors, the Wayne County Republican Women’s Club, the Republican Women’s Club of Ontario, the Wayne County Medical & Dental Assistants’ Association, & the Wayne County Town Clerks’ Association. She was an avid golfer & bridge player, enjoyed traveling & entertaining family & friends, & working in her yard & flower gardens. For many years, she served as an election inspector for District #5 in Ontario. The family extends thanks to the dedicated & friendly staff at Sage Harbor at BayWinde & Blossom View Nursing Home, where Jeannette also enjoyed fellowship with her residents & visitors. All are invited to call Sunday 2-4 & 7-9PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 1961 Ridge Rd, Ontario. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30AM Monday at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church. WALWORTH - Died on March 15, 2007 at age 63. Predeceased by her husbands William Finerghty & Robert Guillaume. SODUS - Died on March 8, 2007 at age 81. Predeceased by his wife Janet Higley and brother David Higley. He is survived by his wife Marcia; children, Michael (Marguerite) Higley, Tammy (Chris) Bixby; 6 grandchildren & his 2 faithful companions Rebel & Meghan. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a talented woodworker, airplane pilot & retired from Gleason Works.
