ONTARIO - Died from complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) on February 12, 2008 at age 65. Survived by her spouse of 46 years Len Lettau; 3 children, Chris Lettau (Samantha Abbott) Albion, CA, Renee (Greg) Scholz, Ontario, Douglas R. Lettau, Macedon; 2 grandchildren Alex & Aaron Scholz; siblings, Marti Cotter, Joe Bucci; several nieces & nephews. She graduated Phi Beta Cappa from MCC Nursing School, was a Registered Nurse, Administrator at Webster Montessori School & an active member of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church. Wilson, Paula F.

Ontario, NY: Paula Wilson, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2008, at home, where she most wanted to be, surrounded by family members and her cat. Predeceased in 2001 by her husband, Wallace E. Wilson. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Maine during her early childhood, she attended a one-room schoolhouse where she could advance in education beyond her years. She finished high school at the Berkeley Institute in Brooklyn at age 16 and headed to Ann Arbor to enter the University of Michigan School of Architecture as the only girl in the entering class. That is where she met her future husband, Wally Wilson, to whom she was married for 67 marvelous years. Throughout their married life together, they traveled extensively, and moved many times throughout the United States as Wally climbed the ladder of success with General Motors. Paula contributed to his success as a true helpmate, the great lady behind the great man. They both graduated in 1933 with B.A. Degrees in Architecture. Paula applied her talents in fashion and interior design, interests that were central to her marvelous decorating and landscaping at her many homes, especially her last residence in Ontario at Wychmere Farms, to which she and Wally retired in 1974.
Paula also had a passionate dedication to the principles of organic farming and conservation. Stimulated by the research and writings of Louis Bromfield in the 1940s, she developed a lifelong interest in environmental conservation which was reflected in her management of the Holstein Dairy and Fruit Growing enterprises at Wychmere Farms in Ontario, NY, where the family settled in 1959. She continued to reside there until her passing on March 31, 2008. Paula is survived by her son Kim Wilson and wife, Dale, and daughter Karen Wilson Pinkney and husband Robert; grandchildren: Sharon Wilson Goeller and husband Tom, Susi WilsonFors and husband John, Evan Wilson Pinkney and wife Jessica, Sarah Pinkney Castronova and husband Michael; great-grandchildren: Kelly Goeller, Ashley Goeller and Rita Pinkney. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Paula Wilson will be held at the North Ontario United Methodist Church, 7200 Ontario Center Road North, Ontario, NY on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 2:00PM. A reception will be held at the Church following the service. Interment at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those who so wish may contribute in Paula’s memory to Open Door Mission, 156 N. Plymouth Ave, Rochester, NY 14608, Mercy Flight, Buffalo-Niagara Airport, P.O. Survived by his beloved & devoted daughter & son-in-law Lyn (Michael) Sewert; daughter-in-law Anne Bassage; grandchildren, Lee Bassage, Kevin (Amy) Bassage, Shawn Pisciotti, Michelle (Daniel) Houck, William Albright; great granddaughters Miranda Bassage, Skyla Pisciotti, Lea Lyn Houck; sisters, Betty Schimerhorn, Beverly Jean Schrieber; several nieces & nephews.
