PALMYRA - Died on July 5, 2008 at age 79. Predeceased by her husband Roger, son Timothy. CLYDE: Formerly of North Rose & Ontario. Died peacefully after a short illness on July 2, 2008 at age 84. Predeceased by her husbands, William Schroeder, Robert Hanlon. Palmer, W. Lorenzo "Tink"

WILLIAMSON - Died on September 16, 2008 at age 97. He is predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Fern. He is survived by his sons, Wilbur H. (Judy) & Frederick W. (Judy); daughter Carolyn (Robert) Jordan; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. He was born in Ontario, NY on November 3, 1910. He was a farmer all his life, a seventh degree member of the Grange, life member of the New York State Horticultural Society, NY Farm Bureau, Alpha Zeta Fraternity, graduate of College of Agriculture of Cornell University, & member of the First Baptist Church of Ontario, NY. He was a direct descendent of Walter Palmer who came to America from England in 1629. He was also Charter Member #1 of the Walter Palmer Society. Friends are invited to call Friday 6-8PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 1961 Ridge Rd, Ontario. His Funeral Service will be held 10:30AM Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Ontario. Interment Furnaceville cemetery. Donations may be made to the Ontario Historical Society or First Baptist Church of Ontario in his memory.

Lang, Bernice M."Bea"

ONTARIO - Bea passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008. Bea is survived by her children, Rick (Lynn), Roy, Bonnie (Steve) Hyman, Rob; grandchildren, Nicole, Krystal, Breanna, Austin; & many loving & supportive friends. Born to Winifred & Gerald Hall on Dec. 10, 1936, Bea grew up near the Irondequoit Bay Outlet & attended school in Webster where she met her future husband, Richard (Dick) Lang. Bea drove school bus for Wayne Central Schools & enjoyed following her children, & later her grandchildren, in their various sports & activities. After retiring, she & Dick spent their winters in Southwest Florida & enjoyed camping & socializing with their many dear friends. Family & friends are invited to call Monday Sept. 15th from 4-7PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 1961 Ridge Rd, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pines of Peace, 2378 Ridge Rd, Ontario, NY 14519, where everyone did an absolutely wonderful job helping Bea & her family through her final days.

Wehrlin, Helene F.

Helene Wehrlin, 94 years young, a nearly lifelong resident of Palmyra, NY and more recently Brighton, NY, died Wednesday, September 3 rd, suddenly at home. Helene was predeceased by her beloved Gerald (Jerry) Wehrlin to whom she was married for 40 years. She was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Farrell of Palmyra.
Helene devoted her life and love to her family. She and Jerry are survived by four daughters and their families: Jean & Hal Smullen of Williamsburg, VA, Joan Fitzpatrick of Williamsburg, VA, Judy & Frank Angelini of Leominster, MA and Jackie & Leo
Flanagan of Pittsford, NY. She is also survived by her brother, James Farrell of Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Troskosky and Charlotte Brennan and son-in-law Ed Fitzpatrick.
Helene was the proud grandmother of fourteen loving grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was a caring aunt to many nieces and nephews.
For many years she was an active member of St Anne’s Parish in Palmyra, and enjoyed her most recent years with friends at Linden Knolls, Brighton, NY. She was a former employee of Garlock, Inc of Palmyra.
Helene will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her for her constant patience, abiding love and steadfast faith.
Calling hours will be at McGuire/Hargrave & Murphy Funeral Home, 123 E. Jackson St., Palmyra, NY 14522 on Sunday, September 7th from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. A funeral mass will be said at St Anne’s Church in Palmyra at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 8th.
Donations in her memory may be directed to Linden Knolls Rose Garden, 81 Linden Ave. Rochester, NY 14618

Lyke, George H.

ONTARIO - George H. Lyke passed away peacefully on August 31, 2008 at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer. George was a graduate from the Finger Lakes Community College with a degree in Natural Resource Conservation. He was a public servant for the New York State Health Department specializing in lead investigations. As first Vice President of the Empire State Honey Producers Association, he was actively in involved in the Colony Collapse Disorder that plagues our honey bees. He was awarded "Empire State Honey Producer Association’s Beekeeper of the Year" award of 2008. Survived by his beloved wife Joyce; children, David and Mary Jo Lyke, Susan and Jeff Jasak; grandchildren Abigail, Alexander, Elizabeth and Madeline; brother in-law Bill Shortsleeve; brother, Terry Lyke; sisters, Linda Fess and Nancy Demo; niece Lindsay Steele; nephews, David Fess, Daniel Demo, Michael Demo and Robert Fess; uncles, Fredrick and Harry Lyke; Aunt Eva Durfee; close friend Galen Fairgraves. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 7-9PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Ontario. Funeral Service to be held Friday 11AM at the North Ontario United Methodist Church, Ontario, NY. WEST WALWORTH - passed away August 31, 2008 at age 97, and is now with the Lord. Survived by his loving wife of 79 years Eunice Freer Granger; son Harold (Nancy); daughter Patricia (George) Wahl; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; great, great grandson; several nieces & nephews. Lupold, Virginia G.

PALMYRA - Died on August 30, 2008 at age 86. Daughter of Arthur & Elva Grimes. Survived by her husband Earl E. Lupold, whom she married on April 8, 1944. Son Gary Lupold, Phelps; daughter, Nancy (Albert) Tuttle, Shortsville; 2 grandsons, Brad, Palmyra, Eric (Suzanna), Chicago, Ill.; great grandson Nevan; several nieces & nephews. She was an active member of Palmyra First United Methodist Church, Kings Daughters, past president of Palmyra Senior Citizens & former member of Manchester-Shortsville School Board. Ebert, David G.

PALMYRA - Died on August 28, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Gordon & Patricia Ebert of Penfield. Survived by his loving wife Pamela; daughter Allison (Michael) Harris; the true loves of his life, his grandchildren Emily & Joshua; sisters Mary (Charlie) Weaver, Elizabeth (Michael) Behr; several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews. He served in the US Coast Guard & retired after 30 years from the Penfield School District. His funeral services will be held at the family’s convenience. PALMYRA - Died on August 24, 2008 at age 88. Predeceased by his wife Marion, brothers, Charles, Samuel, Joseph, Harry, niece Nancy Sapienza, nephew Paul Sprague. Survived by siblings, James (Anne) Sapienza, Helen (Kenneth) Harris, Mary (Howard) Sprague, Guy (Judy) Sapienza; 28 nieces & nephews; 43 great nieces & nephews; 3 great, great nieces & nephews; good friend Tim Prokop. Paul was a WWII Veteran and retired after 30 years from NYS Liquor Authority as Executive Officer of Monroe, Wayne & Ontario Counties. He was active in the parish communities of St. Patrick’s & St. Anne’s & Notre Dame Retreat House. She was Director of Nursing & went on to be Director of Education & Training of all disciplines. A lover of nature, she enjoyed many years on Sodus Bay. Her Funeral Services will be held privately.
