Hall, Michael John Jr.

MACEDON - Died suddenly on April 23, 2011 at age 16. Predeceased by his best friend & grandfather Frank Terry Hall. MACEDON - Died on March 31, 2011 at age 83. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy E. (Land). Survived by two sons, John R. DeFisher, Christine Sue

ONTARIO - Unexpectedly passed on March 31, 2011 at age 31. Survived by her children, Jenna & Gavin who were her pride & joy. Chrissy’s dedication & unselfishness to her children was incredible. She is also survived by her parents, Diane & Norris DeFisher; sisters, Carrie (Brad) Miller, Kelly DeFisher (Eddie Schafer); grandfather Ralph Moak; nieces & nephews (who called her TT) Cody, Alyssa, Drake, Drew, Jace, Morgan, Lauren, Aidan; special Uncle Moakie; cousins, Leslie, Ken, Lisa, Paul; many other friends including very special friend Casey. Chrissy always brought joy to all her family & friends by her bright & cheerful outlook on life & she always had a smile for everyone. WALWORTH - Died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at age 91. Survived by his daughters, Marcia Wyse, Linda (James) VerPlank, Judy (Kenny) Casler; son Tom (Bridgette) Huntley; grandchildren, Eric Wyse, Rachel (Todd) VanHouten, Amanda, Jordan VerPlank, Haley & Micaela Casler; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Grace VanHouten; several nieces & nephews. Stuart will be remembered for his love of family, dedication to the Walworth Fire Department & frequent visits to local eateries. He was an army veteran of World War II, 70 year member of the Walworth Fire Department & Fire Commissioner for 22 years. Willson, Charles Curtis, Jr.

MACEDON - Formerly of Palmyra, died on March 26, 2011 surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his wife Marie, and siblings, Laurel & William. Survived by his children Bruce (Cheryl) Willson, Marcia Willson, Karen (Alan) Willson, Paul (Debbie) Willson, Mark (Giselle) Willson, Wayne (Beth) Willson; grandchildren, Katherine (Jason) Willson, Kelly (Thomas) Hartnett, Erik Willson, Sarah (Rick) Peters, Joshua (Jessica) Willson, Matthew and Steven Oslan, Raymond, Ryan, and Reid Krobok; great grandson TJ Hartnett; brother John (Winifred) Willson; family friends, including Linda DePuy. A decorated WWII veteran, Charles served in Europe with the 8th Air Force of the Army Air Corps. A long-time resident of Palmyra, he retired from the engineering department of Garlock, Inc., in 1987. A former member and treasurer of the CA Palmer Fife and Drum Corps of Palmyra, Charles co-founded and named the Towpath Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps of Macedon and served as the group’s treasurer and Chairman of the Board. An avid “ham” radio operator, Charles (K2GMZ) was a member of the Rochester Amateur Radio Association (RARA). He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Palmyra and served as institutional liaison with Cub Scout Pack 99 and Boy Scout Troup 66. Charles will be greatly missed by his loving family and countless friends. MACEDON - Died on March 9, 2011 at age 87. Predeceased by her husband Bernard. Survived by her children, Jacqueline (Richard) Krocke, Donald (Joanne) Reeners, James (Jill) Reeners, Jane (Robert) Countryman, Kenneth Reeners; grandchildren, Geoff (Liz) Krocke, Aaron (Carla) Krocke, Dawn Reeners, Greg (Lauren) Reeners, Michael (Maddie) Reeners, Adam Reeners, Chris (Jenny) Countryman, Jon (Amanda) Countryman, Crystal (Seth) Cathey, John Kelly (Sheryl Capron); 14 great grandchildren; sister Norma Stoutenger; sisters & brothers-in-laws; many nieces, nephews & friends including all those at Parkwood Heights. She was named Macedon Citizen of the Year 1965, 2009 St. Patrick's Volunteer of the Year & a member of many community organizations; including Meals on Wheels, Girl Scouts, Macedon Center Ladies Auxiliary, Macedon Food Pantry, Macedon Senior Citizens & a lifetime member of St. Patrick’s Church. Crooks, Richard D.

Richard D. Crooks, age 78, died Tuesday, March 8 after a brief illness at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Greece, NY. A memorial service will be held this coming Sunday, March 13th at 2 PM at the 1st United Methodist Church in Palmyra. Dick was born in Saginaw, MI on March 10, 1932. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1950 and from Kalamazoo College in 1954 with a Music major. He went on to receive a Masters of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Divinity School in 1961. He married Marylou Howell Crooks in May of 1956 and amicably divorced in 1980. Early in his career, Rev. Crooks served as chaplain and teacher at The New Hampton School and as pastor of the New Hampton Community Church in New Hampton, New Hampshire. Nearby in Sanbornton, NH, he later served for many years as the pastor of the Sanbornton Congregational Church. He also taught English, and served as Music Director, conducting the band and directing the choir for Winnisquam Regional High School in Tilton, N.H. He later taught at Olivet College, in Olivet Michigan, while holding the pastorate at Olivet Congregational Church. From the pulpit of the congregations he served, he was known for his passionate and progressive thought leadership on issues that intersected faith, social justice, and local, national and international politics. For the past 30 years, he has lived in the Rochester area and has been involved in a multitude of different activities, including permanent music teaching positions, as well as substitute teaching in all subjects. A talented organist, vocalist, and conductor, he served several churches and both directed and accompanied the Canaltown Chorale, which is based out of Palmyra NY. He served on the board of the Walworth-Seely Public Library, a position which he adored, from 2005-2009. His great loves were music, reading and his family and friends. He leaves behind a son, Curt Crooks of Starksboro, VT and a daughter, Merriam Rink, of Davenport, Iowa and three grandchildren - Chelsea, Melissa and Andrew Rink. He also left behind his two beloved pets - Phantom, a dog and Raven, a cat. Notes of condolence for Curt and Merriam can be sent in c/o Merriam Crooks Rink, 2805 E. 43rd Street, Davenport, Iowa. Memorials gifts can be made in Dick’s memory to either the Canaltown Chorale, c/o Edie Dutton, 116 W. Jackson St., Palmyra, NY 14522 or the Walworth-Seely Public Library, 3600 Lorraine Drive, Walworth, NY 14568. A memorial service for his many New England friends will be announced at a later date for the spring/early summer of 2011 in Sanbornton, NH. Arrangements by PAYNE & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME.

ONTARIO - Died on March 3, 2011 at age 83. Predeceased by her husband Harold. ONTARIO - Born March 6, 1914. Died on March 1, 2011 at age 96. She will always be remembered by her nieces Judy Seth, Elizabeth (Ged) Delaney; nephew Paul (Robin) Suwijn; 2 great nieces Adriana Ciulla, Kamaren Allen; great great niece Hana Marie Ciulla; sisters-in-law Arlene Suwijn, Lois Brewer. Predeceased by her parents Roma & Charles VanNorway, husband John; brothers Howard, Lewis & Arthur VanNorway.
