Fred leaves cherished memories to his daughter Nanette (Ronald) Sorrentino of Farmington; son Donald (Bonnie) Hoffer of Eden Prairie, MN; grandson Scott (Susan) Hoffer of Afton MN; great-grandson Jakin Hoffer. MACEDON - Died unexpectedly on Thursday August 21. 2003 at the age of 70. She is survived by her children; Debra J. Harvey (David A. Schue), Sharon M. Calderon (Timothy R. Voellinger), Karen A. (Todd A.) Voellinger, Matthew F. Shacket and Joseph J. Novara; grandchildren Michael Vaillancourt, Tony Alvarado, Noemi Calderon, Kristina Calderon, Carrie Vaillancourt, Adam Vaillancourt, Vincent Novara, Deborah Novara, C.J. Novara, Tyler Voellinger, Travis Voellinger and Isiah Shacket; great grandchildren Tony Alvarado Jr. and Mharina Acciaio; brothers John, Robert and Charles Mason. She was predeceased by grandsons Theodore Vaillancourt and Jacob Voellinger. A Mass of Christian Burial was 9 a.m. Saturday from St. Patrick's Church in Macedon. Standera, Bernard Michael

ONTARIO - Died on August 18, 2003 at age 60. Predeceased by his parents Esther & Frank Standera; sister, Shirley Standera. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughter, Rebecca (James) Tiffin; son, Brian (Julia) Standera; 5 grandchildren, Carlene, Abigail, Danielle Standera, Skyler & James Ross Tiffin III; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. Bernie was a charter member of the Walworth Lions Club and lifetime member of The International Association of Lions Clubs. Mary Lou was a homemaker & 1st grade teacher who taught hundreds of children in Wayne Co. to read. Warner, Nelson H. Sr.

PALMYRA - Died Tuesday November 25, 2003 at age 82. He is survived by his wife Rita Warner; children Nelson (Donna) Warner Jr., Walter Warner, Carlton Warner, Betty Knorr, Mary (Dale) Harris and William Warner; step-children Edith (Roger) Abbott, Joseph (Kay) Darrow, Deane (William) Stevens and Leo (Geri) Dennis; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Florabelle (Walter) McDonald, Florence Sapp and Edith Fabio. Family and friends called Friday (Nov 28th) from 7-9 p.m. & Saturday (Nov 29th) 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at PAYNE & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1040 Route 31 Macedon. Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the Warner family.

PALMYRA - passed away November 20, 2003 at age 82 following a brief illness. Dora was predeceased by her husband Nelson Walton in 1988. She is survived by her daughters Rosemary Walton, Sandra (Harry) Hansen and Beverly (Gary) Rood; grandchildren Curt (Jennifer) Hansen, Phillip (Laura) Hansen and Coletta & Cindy Rood; sister Mary (Arthur) Leiper; brother Joseph (Doris) Murray; sisters-in-law Mary (Brad) Griffith and Monica Murray; several nieces and nephews. Suwijn, William J.

ONTARIO - Formerly of Walworth. Died on November 20, 2003 at age 85. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arlene; children, Elizabeth (Ged) Delaney, Paul (Robin) Suwijn; granddaughters, Adriana & Kamaren; sister-in-law, Irene Suwijn; several nieces, nephews & many dear friends. Bill was an Army Captain in WWII, a longtime member of Walworth 2nd Baptist Church. A gifted farmer and master gardner, Bill provided for family & neighbors alike. He served for several years on the Wayne Central School Board. He was an inspired fisherman and outdoorsman. Friends are invited to call Saturday 2-4 & 7-9PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Rd., Ontario. A Funeral will be held 3PM Sunday at Walworth 2nd Baptist Church. Darling, Robert (Bob)

PALMYRA - Went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2003. He is survived by his wife Alice (Frey) Darling; children, Annette Johnstone, Robert (Leslie) Darling, Kimberlee Darling; grandchildren, Derek & Kasey Johnstone, Jason & Joshua Darling, Christopher & Cody Argus; mother Dorothy Darling; sister Dorothy Barber; brothers, Russell Darling, Donald ( Mary) Darling; mother-in-law, Bertie Frey; brothers & sisters-in-law, Kathy Frey, Mary Frey, Edwin (Val) Frey, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins. Bob served as a paratrooper overseas in the far east, in the Palmyra Police Department as a patrolman, sergeant and chief, also with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. Christian Funeral Services were held by Pastor Richard Brasser of Palmyra Bible Church at McGuire/Hargrave & Murphy Funeral Home and Palmyra Village cemetery with full military honors being accorded. The Palmyra Police Department assisted as honor guard and bag pipes were played by Ron Hall. Donations may be made in memory of Bob to Palmyra Bible Church or Palmyra Community Center.

Myers, Bettye (Cranston, Maher)

ONTARIO - Joined our Lord in Heaven on November 6, 2003. Bettye, the daughter of James & Lena Maher, was born July 16, 1918 in Ontario and remained a life long resident. She was predeceased by two husbands, Charles Cranston and Albert Myers, brother, Maurice Maher; sister, Marjorie Duncan. Bettye is survived by several nieces, nephews, James (Ann) Maher, Liverpool; grandnieces, grandnephews; first cousin, June Hartson, Williamson and many dear friends. Bettye was an active volunteer in our community. Her first commitment was to her church followed very closely by her love of country. She was a 59 year member of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, serving as secretary for many years, president and registrar of the State Department and president of the local tent. She was a charter member of Monroe County Legal Secretary Assn. and she participated in several Memorial Day ceremonies each year and spoke at many here in Ontario. She was a supporter of the Ontario Historical Society and enjoyed many events at Heritage Square. Each year Bettye would volunteer to prepare income tax returns for senior citizens at the Ontario Town Hall for the AARP. Bettye also spent many hours driving seniors to their doctor appointments, grocery shopping or wherever someone needed to go. Bettye will be missed by many. Bettye worked for 51 years as a legal secretary/bookkeeper/tax preparer for the law firm now known as Barrett Greisberger Dollinger Fletcher Peartree & Tallon, LLP, formerly Barrett Maier and Barrett. She was hired by Gerald R. Barrett in 1949 and continued working until 2001.
Friends are invited to call Sunday 2-4 p.m. at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's of the Lake Church. Interment Calvary cemetery. We request that no flowers be sent, a donation to the charity of one's choice to honor Bettye would be appreciated.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Kathy) Mogray, Jr., David (Beth) Mogray, Geralyn (Frank) Ruffell; grandchildren, Michael Robert, Michael David, Jessica; sister Leila Fleckenstein; several nieces, nephews & close friends. Blank, Margaret Edna "Peg" (Packard) (Bradley)

MACEDON - passed away on Wednesday January 28, 2004 at the age of 97. Margaret is survived by her children Edward (Dottie) Bradley, Beula "Boots" (James) Yazel, Joan (William) Milke; grandchildren Barry Bradley, Bruce (Katy) Bradley, Bernie Bradley, Dawn (Joseph) Marion, Dale (Maureen) Milke, Darryl (Myrtle) Milke and Doug (Jennifer) Milke; great-grandchildren Bethany Bradley, Alison (William) Pagano, Christopher Milke, Margaret Marion and Mellisa Milke; sister Lois Bowerman; long time friend Jane Bradley. Margaret was predeceased by husbands Arthur Bradley and Willis Blank, and by sister Phyllis Hance and brother Floyd Packard. Margaret was a life long resident of Macedon, and a member of the Macedon Center United Methodist Church and the Women's International Bowling Congress. In tribute to Jane F. Nelson who was swept into the arms of Jesus on January 26th, 2004. Her kind and giving heart was a part of adoring husband William S Nelson Sr.; Son William Jr. (Penny), & Daughter Linda (Mike) Bombarger. Also loved by grandchildren; Michael Bombarger Jr., Christine Bombarger, Stacie Nelson, Mathew Bombarger, Katie Nelson & Steven Bombarger. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday 29th, 2004.
