ALVA FLORIDA / WEST WALWORTH - Went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2004 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Stalker Sr. Alberta is survived by her children, Eloise Coppens, David (Sharon) Stalker, Virginia Miranda, and Edward (Donna) Stalker Jr.; sister-in-law Betty Baart. Hill, Thomas R.

ONTARIO - Died unexpectedly on October 22, 2004 at age 47. He is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughter Caitlyn Rose Hill; brother John Sr. (Carolyn) Hill; nephew John Hill Jr.; mother-in-law Andrea Lee Pehta. Tom was a lifetime member of the Ontario Fire Company, past chief, member of the Ontario Fireman Exempts, charter member of OFC Post 739 Explorers, Wayne County Fire Chiefs Assoc., NYS Association of Fire Chiefs, FASNY, Wayne County Volunteer Fireman’s Assoc., Northern Central Fireman’s Assoc., & Wayne County Fire Police Assoc. Tom was the towing manager at Phil’s Automotive, and was predeceased by parents Harold & Ida Hill. Friends are invited to call Sunday 5-8 p.m. at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, where his funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. Burial at Furnaceville cemetery. Donations may be made to his family, for his daughter Caitlyn’s education fund, in his memory.

Mancini, John A.

ONTARIO - Died Monday October 18, 2004, at the young age of 62, following a valiant fight against brain cancer. John retired from Xerox Corporation after 42 years of service. He is survived by his devoted wife Rebecca Mancini of Ontario. His loving children and adoring grandchildren Kenneth Mancini; Kristin and Marc of Rochester; Sharon (Thomas) Laudisi; Vincent, Mitchell, Anthony and Zachary of Duluth, GA; Scott (Kathy) Zimmerman; Stephanie and Lindsey of Williamson. Predeceased by his father Stephen Mancini and sister Ann Marie Lombard. He leaves his mother Angela Mancini of Rochester and brother Stephen (Angela) Mancini, Jr. of Rochester. In-laws, Robert and Connie Lake of Williamson; Ronald and Jean Sharrow of Ontario. His extended family members Shannon McVeigh and children of Clifton Springs; Casey (Don) Scoville and children of Sodus; Michelle (Ted) Eastley and children of Tampa, FL, along with many caring nieces, nephews, cousins and admiring friends. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, 6-9 p.m. at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s of the Lake Church in Ontario. Interment will follow at Furnaceville cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the Mancini family requests donations be directed to the Lipson Cancer Center, 1425 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621.

Died October 16, 2004 at age 92. Predeceased by her husband, Arnold & son Roger. LYONS: Formerly of Ontario, Saturday November 27, 2004 at age 76. George was predeceased by his wife Louise on February 25, 1999. He is survived by his children Christine (John) Gerg, Richard (Karen) Swarthout, James Carpenter; grandchildren William, Jennifer, Christopher, James, Kathrine and Joelle; great-grandchildren Felicia, Katelyn, Brianna, Rebecca, Brandon, Jordan and Cara; in-laws Elmer & Eleanor MacIntyre, Irene & Joseph Schmidt, Susan Bradshaw; special nephew David (Barbara) Vine as well as many other relatives and close friends. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy; grandchildren Ronald (Elizabeth) Ficarro; Lori Englert, Ann Marie Ficarro; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Kaitlyn Ficarro, Nicole Platino, Melissa Englert; brother, Joseph Cappello of Ontario; sisters, Josephine Fozzi, Angelina (Carl) Jones, both of CA. Ann was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and Rosary Alter Society of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church. Sherman, Virginia (Rice)

MACEDON - Formerly of Lindenhurst, NY, was called by her Lord and Savior to reunite with her husband Bill on March 1, 2005. Virginia & Bill were married for 59 wonderful & fulfilling years. She is survived by sons Ronald (Chick), Gary (Carolyn); grandchildren, Kimberly (George), Kristin (Andrew), Kevin (Rebecca), Derrick; great grandchildren, Owen, Alex, George; sister Genevieve (Ray); brothers, Howard (Joyce), Ken (Carol); many nieces & nephews; & a large, loving supportive family. Virginia was born in Watertown, NY in 1922. She graduated from Bayside, NY High School & then completed a 2 yr. Program at Pratt Institute, receiving a degree as a dietician. She was the cafeteria director at Kellum Rd. Elementary School in Lindenhurst for many years. After their retirements Virginia & Bill traveled all over the world before settling down near Hilton Head, SC. More recently Virginia had enjoyed living at Parkwood Heights in Macedon & was a member of the "Red Hat" society there. Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Saturday 11AM March 19, 2005 at Macedon 1st Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations in Virginia’s memory may be made to Advent House Hospice, 1010 Moseley Rd, Fairport NY 14450 or Macedon 1st Baptist Church in her memory.

Ziegler, Lou

FARGO, ND: Died Saturday, January 29, 2005 at his second home in Naples, Florida after a courageous three month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56. Lou was surrounded by his wife, daughter and two close friends. Born Karl Louis Ziegler II December 9, 1948 in Clifton Springs, NY, Lou grew up in Palmyra. He graduated from Palmyra-Macedon High School in 1967 and from SUNY Geneseo with a BA in English in 1971. Ziegler originally thought he wanted to be a teacher and did that briefly. He began his journalism career at the former Wayne County Star. Among the local posts Lou held was as editor of the Courier-Journal. Ziegler then went on to work for Gannett in Rochester for both the Times-Union and Democrat & Chronicle. He was in Washington, DC in 1985 after USA Today was launched and he wrote cover stories for the national newspaper. Lou traveled the country editing papers and has been the editor of The Forum in Fargo, North Dakota for nearly 5 years. Ziegler's award-winning career in journalism spanned over 30 years. Ziegler was predeceased by his father, Karl L. Ziegler in 1994. He is survived by his mother, Sophie P. Ziegler of Newark, NY; wife Sandy of Fargo, ND; his son and daughter in law Jeffrey and Laura Ziegler of Ellenboro, NC; daughter and son in law Karley and Thomas Mott of West Irondequoit, NY; beloved grandson Nicholas Mott also of West Irondequoit. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters in law Paul and Diane Ziegler of Seminole, FL and Charles and Terri Ziegler of Palmyra, NY; nieces and nephew Jenny (Travis) Whitton, Amy Ziegler, Kimberly Ziegler, and Michael Ziegler; aunt Helen (William) Decker, and several cousins. He is also survived by his close friends Hal & Mary Alice Grissum and Malcolm & Lauren Brownell. A private service for family and close friends will be held Wednesday, February 2 at 10 a.m. at McGuire/Hargrave & Murphy Funeral Home, 123 East Jackson Street in Palmyra. Burial will follow at Palmyra cemetery at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Roger Maris Cancer Center, 820 4th Street North, Fargo, North Dakota 58122.

O’Hare (Wiles), Constance E.

MANCHESTER - Peacefully on January 25, 2005, Constance W. O’Hare, age 87 years. Wife of the late Frank O’Hare. Survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Della (the late Edward) Kohler of Penfield, NY, Mrs. Mary Alice (the late James) Loucks of FL, Mrs. Mildred (the late Fred) Henry of Ohio; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold John and Dean Wiles of FL. Charles Lee and Jane Wiles of FL; special step-daughter Mary Lichenstein of TX: several nieces and nephews, including her caregiver John (Jean) Kohler of Geneva, NY: and many friends including Dorothy Allen of Manchester, NY. Predeceased by brother, Carl Wiles and sister, Helen Wilkins. At Connie’s request there will be no prior calling or formal funeral service. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic or a charity of choice. Special thanks to the staff on the 3rd Floor of the Clifton Springs Nursing Home for taking excellent care of Connie.
