Baker, Bessie D.

LINCOLN - Bessie D. Baker passed away at Hill Haven Nursing Home on January 25, 2005 as a result of Alzheimer's disease. She was 80 years old and lived in Lincoln, NY, for most of her life. She graduated from East High School, earned a scholarship to Rochester Business Institute, became a stenographer, and then worked as a secretary at Birdseye Foods and Rochester Iron and Metal. After she married Elwood Baker in 1945 the two of them were never apart for more than a few weeks and that is still true. She was active in the Lincoln Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department for many years. She enjoyed traveling with Elwood, visiting her grandchildren, growing flowers, going to garage sales, quilting, making crafts, restoring and recaning antique furniture, and having coffee with friends. A loving mother and wonderful friend, she will be missed by so many. Bessie is survived by her children John R. Baker of Fort Worth, TX, and daughter Patricia E. Baker of Eugene, OR; grandchildren John Spencer Baker, Lansing, KS, Eva Miller and Hannah Miller of Eugene, OR.; sister Clarice White, Lincoln, NY. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Elwood W. Baker who passed away at Hill Haven Nursing Home on January 6, 2005 and by son Richard E. Baker. Funeral arrangements are being delayed until spring at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620. Dailey, Patrick J.

Went to be with the Lord suddenly January 25, 2005 at age 43. Survived by his sons, Cameron Updike, Aaron & Adam Dailey; siblings, Constance (Harry) VandeMortel, Clifford (Laurie) Dailey, Piper Dailey-Seaman (Randy Bittner), Penny (Bob) Hermann, Pam (Sam) Zucco; uncle Basil Fleming, CA; many nieces, nephews & friends. Patrick was an enthusiastic sportsman enjoying hunting, fishing, NASCAR, racing, & was a respected auto detailer. He passed his enthusiasm & love for life on to his children & friends who will greatly miss him. Daniels, Francis E.

WALWORTH/PALMYRA - Died peacefully at home on January 26, 2005 at age 81. Predeceased by brother James Daniels. He is survived by his wife Lois; brother Bernard; several nieces, nephews & cousins. Sherman, S. William "Bill"

MACEDON - Formerly of Lindenhurst, NY. Called home peacefully January 25, 2005 at age 87. He is survived by his wife of 59 yrs. Virginia; sons Ronald (Chick), Gary (Carolyn); grandchildren, Kimberly (George), Kristin (Andrew), Kevin (Rebecca), Derrick; great grandchildren, Owen, Alex, George; brothers, Jack (Kay), Ken (Marianna); many nieces & nephews; & a large supportive family. An Army Veteran of WWII, he served in the S. Pacific. Following the war, he worked his way up to Vice President at Dry Dock Savings Bank in Manhattan. Upon his retirement Bill & Virginia traveled extensively & then lived in Hilton Head, SC for 5 yrs. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service Saturday 11AM February 12, 2005 at Macedon 1st Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Wayne Co. 1120 S. Griffo, Evelyn M.

Went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2005 at age 71. She is survived by her children, Loretta (Paul) Eckerson, John (Mary) Griffo, Mark Griffo; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessica, Emily, Cody, Micah, Hannah, Benjamin; sister Eleanore (Joseph) Palermo; many nieces, nephews & cousins. Cheryl Watson-Alborn "Cher Bob"

ONTARIO - passed away on January 23, 2005 after a long battle with Cancer at age 41. She is survived by her husband Jim Alborn; step-daughter Emily (Doug) Wilder; 2 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Cynthia Alborn; brother Joe (Tammy) Sutorious; 2 nieces; aunts, Ruth, Doris (Charlie); relatives; many special friends & co-workers, including Amy (Rob) McCarthy, Mary Ann Hartley. Friends are invited to call Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 1961 Ridge Rd, Ontario, where her Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. Horsey, Edna A.

ONTARIO - Entered into rest peacefully on January 22, 2005 at age 94. Miss Horsey was born on May 20, 1910 in Rochester, NY where she lived in house in Highland Park with her parents & four brothers. Her father was forman of the park & instilled in her a love of nature at an early age. She graduated from the Rochester Normal School for Teachers & continued her education over the years at Buffalo University & the University of Rochester achieving a Masters Degree in Education. Her first teaching assignment was in Springwater NY & then she proceeded to complete her teaching career in the East Rochester School District. After an early retirement from her teaching career, she remained in East Rochester with her parents. Upon their passing in 1974, she moved in with her brother Richard Horsey & sister-in-law Vicki to Dorchester Rd. in Rochester. In 1981 they moved to Ontario where she was able to continue to enjoy her love of reading, gardening & bird watching. During her life in Ontario she was a member of the Driftwood Twig of Sodus Hospital, a Sponsor of the Ontario Library & a member of the Historical Society of Ontario. She was also a member of the NYS Retried Teachers Association & the East Rochester Retired Teachers. Predeceased by brothers & sisters-law Irving & Adele, Fla; Martin & Peg, Rochester; sister-in-law, Vicki, Ontario. Survived by brothers, Richard, Ontario, brother & sister-in-law, David & Carol, Palm Desert, CA; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends. Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service 2 p.m. Saturday January 29 at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 1961 Ridge Rd., Ontario. Interment Whitehaven Memorial Park at the family’s convenience. MACEDON - Our sweetheart, the matriarch of our family, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2005 at age 82. Her words, wisdom & love will be missed, but never forgotten. Predeceased by her daughters, Sandra Webster, Nancy Kelly; brother William Dillon; sister Dorothy Carson. Survived by son-in-law David J. Dohse, Donald A. Sr. "Bud"

PALMYRA - passed away peacefully on January 18, 2005 at age 89. Loving husband for 61 years of Bessie Palmer Dohse; devoted father of Rob (Wynnette) Dohse of Oswego, Don (Elaine) Dohse of Macedon Center, Gary (Ginny) Dohse of Penfield, Jill (Rick) Sandor of Greece, Jeff (Sally) Dohse of Virginia; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Ginny Palmer; several nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by his sister Janice Fitzgerald. Bud was a lifelong Palmyra resident where he was Mayor & Trustee of the Village. He graduated from the University of Miami, was a WWII Army Veteran, & retired from Garlock's after 40 years. Bud enjoyed music & sports, especially bowling & tennis. He was a member of St. Anne's Church & choir. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday 3-6 p.m. at McGUIRE/HARGRAVE & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 123 East Jackson Street in Palmyra. Young, Alton H.

PALMYRA - Died suddenly on January 17, 2005 at age 85. He is survived by his wife Bethel "Betty" Young; brother Lionel (Dorothy) Young; sister Evelyn (Paul) Meskill; several nieces & nephews. IRONDEQUOIT - passed away Saturday January 15, 2005 at age 70. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jack Sr.; children John P. (Alice) Kimanski Sr., Karen A. (Ron “Skip”) Noble, Jack R. (Alicia) Hands Jr., Connie Jo (B. Rex) Conley; grandchildren John P. (Jennie) Kimanski Jr., Andrea Conley, Elizabeth L. (Bob) Bradley, Renea Conley, Christy Kimanski; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Tracy, Ethan, Ashley, Brent and Phillip; brothers and sisters Earl Reed, Gerald Reed, May Herold, Christine Bilger, Susan Cansdale, Carol Gowan, Warren Hughes, Nellie Millward and Thomas Hughes; aunt Edna Barone; adopted children Dave Herrmann, David & Dawn Evangelista, Lori Kopinski, Lynn Marapese & Theresa Pinaire; many nieces, nephews and friends. Clara was predeceased by brother Ralph “Dusty” Bell and brothers-in-law Lawrence Herold and Thomas Millward Sr. Visitation will be Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY, where a funeral service for Clara will be 1 p.m. Wednesday. Green, Marie

ONTARIO - Marie Green began her life on October 2, 1944, to Claude and Catherine Pate, in Thomaston, Georgia. Marie, her mother and siblings relocated to Ontario, NY where Catherine was remarried to Eddie Thomas. Marie went to meet her Savior on January 11, 2005 at 10:30 pm. Marie worked many years at Baldwin Richardson Foods until she retired in 1999. Preceding her in death are Parents Eddie and Catherine Thomas, Son Carl Green and Daughter Rhonda Walters. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Husband Robert Felix Green, Daughters, Michele Green, Doris (Wilfred) Jackson-Dicker, Catherine Green, Son, Charles (Olga) Richmond, Son in law: Barry Jackson. Stuart Hammond of Sand Springs, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Anne Hammond of Noblesville, Ind.; and 13 grandchildren Jennifer Rayno; Samantha, Morgan, Maxine, and Alex Webb; Scott (and wife Christy) and Matthew DeRycke; Elijah, Sarah, and Seth Hammond; Rebecca and Grace Hammond, and Matthew Lockridge. ONTARIO - Died on January 8, 2005 at age 68. Baker, Elwood W. (Lt. Col. USAF Ret)

LINCOLN: passed away January 6, 2005, age 85 at the Hill Haven Nursing Home. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Bessie D. Baker; son John R. Baker of Fort Worth, TX; daughter Patricia E. Baker of Eugene, OR; grandchildren John Spencer Baker of Lansing, KS, Eva Miller of Eugene, OR & Hannah Miller of OR. Elwood was predeceased by son Richard E. Baker in 1998. During WWII he served in India as a B-24 pilot and flew 43 combat missions over "the hump" (the Himalayas). After the war, he stayed in the Air Force Reserve and retired as a Lt. Col. He also retired from Delco Products Division of General Motors in Rochester, NY, where he was a long-time employee. An active community leader, Elwood was a founding member of the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department and served as President and Chaplain for many years. He was an active member of the Lincoln Baptist Church for 77 years. As a mason, he was a past Master of Wayne Lodge #416 and a Shriner. Elwood loved band music and marched as a member of the Fairport Band and Shrine Band of Rochester. He enjoyed his family, travel, coin collecting, and growing and selling Christmas trees. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday (Jan 11th) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario. A funeral service will be held, 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Lincoln Baptist Church. Spring interment at Webster Rural cemetery. Pooler, Robert L.

MACEDON - Formerly of Gaylord, Michigan, Friday December 31, 2004, at age 40. Robert is survived by his parents Larry Pooler and Judy Bunn; brother Jim Pooler; sister Valerie Pooler; daughter Chrissy England; grandson Hunter English. Robert was a 1982 graduate of Pal-Mac, and had been employed as a Wildlife Biologist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. PALMYRA / ONTARIO - Died suddenly on December 31, 2004 at age 37.
