Clancy, George M.

WILLIAMSON - George M. Clancy passed away peacefully on January 12, 2006 at Blossom View Nursing Home where he received the utmost in comfort and care. He was greatly loved by his family. He was a wonderful father, proud grandfather and loving husband. Predeceased by his parents George M. Clancy Sr. and Edna Pestorius. George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lorraine; son Michael and his wife Georgina; daughter Barbara Jo of Berryville, VA; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kathleen, Michael, Sean Clancy, Russell James Clancy Dorst of Berryville, VA. Always in good spirits and smiling. George enjoyed these quoted, "If I knew I would live this long (he was 79), I’d have taken better care of myself" and "I don’t have an enemy in the world because I’ve outlived them all!" George served during World War II in the US Army Air Corps, much of it in the Philippines. Upon his discharge in 1946, he joined his father’s business, George M. Clancy Carting Company, which was founded in 1920. He became president of the company in 1960 and retired in 1990. George was a perennial board member the New York State Mover’s and Warehouseman’s Association and the Tariff Bureau, committee member of Rochester Truckman’s and Warehouseman’s Association and member of the Northeast Kiwanis Club. Calling hours are Thursday, January 19th from 3-5PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 1961 Ridge Rd. Ontario, NY. A 10AM Mass will be held Friday, January 20th at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, 5823 Walworth Rd. Ontario, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Magdalen Monica

Died January 12, 2006 at age 83 at Geneva Living Center South where she had lived for the past three years. A daughter of Morris E. and Mary Agnes (Welch) McGuire, she was born December 2, 1922 in Clifton Springs. Magdalen was a 1941 graduate of Palmyra High School. Subsequently she took business classes in Rochester and was employed for a time by the Garlock Packing Company. Later she sometimes worked for McGuire Furniture in Palmyra as her health permitted.
Prior to her move to Geneva, Miss McGuire was a life-long Palmyra resident. She was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church where she once worked in the rectory
Magdalen was predeceased by her parents and two brothers Gregory & Eugene McGuire; survived by a sister-in-law Mary (Brannigan) McGuire; two nephews John McGuire of Geneva and Charles (Louise) McGuire of Macedon; two nieces Christine (Robert) Gregg of State College, PA and Monica McGuire of Phelps; a first cousin Irene (William) Klaeysen of Manchester and several second cousins.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday 9-10AM at McGUIRE/HARGRAVE & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME 123 East Jackson St. Palmyra. Prayer service at 10AM followed by a 10:30AM Mass at St. Anne’s Church, Palmyra. Entombment at White Haven to follow.

Basch, Regina

ONTARIO - Died on January 13, 2006 at age 64. Predeceased by her parents Peter & Catherine Basch; survived by brothers Peter, John, David & James; sister Rosemary Catalano.
Her funeral mass will be held at the convince of the family. Donations may be made to a charity of ones choice in her memory.

ONTARIO - Died on January 12, 2006, surrounded by his loving family at age 75. Predeceased by brothers Norman & Earl Nersinger. PALMYRA - Died on April 9, 2007 at age 55 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Predeceased by her parents Jack & Elizabeth Smith; brother Francis. Survived by her devoted husband Robert; loving sons Richard Hoad (Suzie Bouwens), Jeffery Hoad, Paul Ray; grandchildren, Steven, Richard, Gerald Hoad, Lori Beth; great grandson Steven Jr.; brother Vernon (Alice) Smith; sisters, Karen (Dave) Dennie, Betty Whyman (Paul DeMay), Nella (Mike) Bloomstrom; aunts, Shirley Koester, Esther Rush; uncle Francis Rush; many nephews, in-laws, cousins & friends too numerous to list. Jackie touched the lives of everyone she met & will be missed by all. PALMYRA - Was called to rest in her Saviors arms on April 7, 2007. The daughter of the late John & Julia Nowak. Clara was predeceased by her brother Daniel. Clara was a Felician Sister, Franciscan Order of Enfield, CT, where she was known as Sister Mary Rosalie. Clara was a teacher in several schools throughout New England & New York. In 1975 she moved to Palmyra. Clara is survived by 3 brothers, Leo (Rita), Benedict (Rose) Nowak, both of Florida, NY & Sylvester "Tony" (Mary) Nowak of Colorado Springs, CO; sister Dorothy (Gerald) Scheer of Palmyra; several nieces & nephews. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Thursday, April 12 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne’s Church 136 Church St, Palmyra. Memorials in memory of Clara may be directed to St. Anne’s Church. (Bud) Joslin; brother Lewis (Helen) Bookman; grandchildren, Kenneth (Mary Santangelo) Dickinson, Renee (Robert) Camp, Rachel (John) Cody; great-granddaughter Elizabeth Cody; close friend Nancy Day; former son-in-law Fred Dickinson; numerous nieces, nephews, family & friends.
