Jones, Wynona B.

DANVILLE, PA: Formerly of Palmyra, died February 12, 2007 at age 95. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years Alton & sister Esther Shaddock. She is survived lovingly by her 3 children, MaryAnn (Donald) Crowell of Westphalia, TX, Marcia Keifer of Danville, PA, David (Deb) Jones of Waitsfield, VT; also survived with love by her 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; & several nieces, nephews & cousins. Wynona was born in Butler City, NY on January 18, 1912. She lived in Palmyra most of her life, moving to Northcumberland, PA in 1996. She was past Matron of the Eastern Star Chapter 533, member of Palmyra Kings Daughters Library, & member of Macedon Center United Methodist Church. Friends are invited to call Saturday, Feb. 17, 11AM-1PM at McGUIRE/HARGRAVE & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 123 East Jackson St, Palmyra, where her Funeral Service will follow at 1PM. Elliott, Alice Arnold

PALMYRA - Died on February 14, 2007. She is survived by her daughters, Loretta (Jay) Wilson, Virginia (Norman) Everdyke, Evelyn Cannioto, Jacalyn (David) Allyn; son, James Elliott; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 10 great, great grandchildren. She was a member of Women of the Moose & Telephone Pioneers

Kulesa, Bernard S. "Bernie"

MACEDON - Died peacefully after a long illness. He was a loving, devoted husband of Helen for 58 years; father of Irene Kulesa, Lima, Evelyn Mondo, Fairport; grandfather of Laura Mondo, Rochester, Lisa Mondo, Astoria, NY; numerous nieces & nephews. Winnett, Leta

HORSEHEADS: 89 died February 8, 2007 at the Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, NY. Leta was born in Sterling NY on August 17, 1917 to Timothy and Mary (Lunkenheimer) Manning. Leta married Raymond Winnett on April 13, 1942. Leta is survived by her husband Ray, sons: Jerald (Julie), Macedon; Richard(Nancy), Bath; Peter (Wendy), Big Flats; 5 grand children Christopher, Leah, Monique, Jenna and Desire' and her sister Marjorie Youngs of Lyons.
Leta is predeceased by her parents and two brothers Paul and Bernard Manning. Leta was a graduate of Auburn Business School. Most of Leta's adult life she stayed home to raise her three sons and began a banking career with Security Trust Bank in Wolcott, NY from which she retired in 1980. She was an active member of St. Mary Magdalene's Catholic Church in Wolcott, NY between 1946-1983 while living in Wolcott and Shaker Heights, NY. Leta and Ray lived in Seneca Falls, NY between 1983-1988 and later moved to Ontario, NY where they lived between 1988 & 2004. In 2004 until her death Leta lived with Ray at Appleridge apartments, Horeseheads, NY.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister Leta was a great cook, was an avid Euchre player and Scout leader. Leta and Ray spent winters during their early retirement years in the Clearwater, Florida area. Friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial 12PM on Monday at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Ontario. Burial Calvary cemetery in the Springtime. Donations may be made to a charity of ones choice in her memory. Arrangements by MURPHY FUNERAL HOME

Handy, Doris “Dee”

PORT BAY: Formerly of Palmyra. Passed on February 1, 2007 at age 67. Predeceased by her daughter Annette Yaeger. Survived by her husband Benjamin Handy; daughters Candy Klaeysen, Tammy (Dave) Wilsey, Dee Dee (Jeff) Yonker, Melanie (Chris) Hurley; 10 garndchildren; 3 great grtandchildren.

Lewis, Robert K., Sr.

ONTARIO - Died peacefully at home after a long illness on January 29, 2007 at age 66. Survived by his beloved wife Katharine; children, Donald (Theresa) Lewis, Diane (Todd) Turnbull, Robert (Tracy) Lewis, Jr., Robert (Shannon) Sparlin; several grandchildren; great grandson; nieces & nephews. Oosterling, Peter W.

ONTARIO - Went to be with his Lord on January 26, 2007 at age 70. He is survived by his wife “Tinker”; children, Jon (Michelle) Oosterling, Steve (Judy) Oosterling, Paul (Valerie) Oosterling, Kris (Michele) Oosterling, Karin (Rich) Sonnen; grandchildren, Timothy, Danielle, Caleb, Alex, Abby, Adam, Nicole, Ian, Jacob, Andie, Jessica; Brother William (Fran) Oosterling; several nieces & nephews. Peter retired from Wayne Central School District after 34 years as an instrumental music teacher. He owned & operated Millside Trains for 30 years.

He was a lifetime member of Palmyra VFW, American War Dads Post 6778 & D.A.V.

Michael) Czebatol; great granddaughter Valerie Destito; several nieces & nephews. She served as O.E.S member for over 20 years. Avedisian, Bernadine M.

PHELPS: Formerly of Palmyra Died on January 14, 2007. Predeceased by her husbands, Louis Connor & John Avedisian Sr.; siblings Sam Halsey, Dick Halsey, Irene (Halsey) White, Donald Halsey. Survived by her sister Marjorie Halsey-Smith-Gronberg; children John, Jr (Shirley) Avedisian, Robert (Suzanne) Avedisian, Jean (Bob) Bacon; 5 grandsons, 5 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews.

Harradine, Gerald E.

ONTARIO - Died on January 12, 2007, at age 83. Survived by his wife Margaret of 61 years; children Randall (Deborah) Harradine, Mary F (Ronald) Grice-Cockrell; grandchildren, Michelle (Jay) Petrie, Matthew Harradine, Stephanie Grice; great grandchildren, Kylah, Joshua, Olivia; and his three nieces.
Gerald is an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He retired from Delco after more than 30 years.
Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass 10AM Wednesday at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church. Arrangements by MURPHY FUNERAL HOME.

Reedy, Zita D.

PALMYRA - We celebrate the life of Mary Zita Dempsey Reedy, born April 18, 1917, who left family and friends on January 11, 2007. Zita Reedy was born to Julia Hefferon Dempsey and Patrick Joseph Dempsey in Scranton, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Marywood College, she married John Walter Reedy of Dalton, PA in 1940, who preceded her in death in 1971. Zita is also preceded in death by her son, Walter Marion Reedy in February 1950.
Throughout her life Zita was a devout Catholic, a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She taught in Catholic Schools in Palmyra, Newark and Rochester, NY.
From her journey on this earth Zita leaves behind many friends and a large loving family:
PJ Dempsey, brother, of Scranton, PA; Patricia (daughter) and Harold Cunningham of Nashville, TN; John W. Jr.(son) and Helen Reedy of Clinton, MA; and daughter
Mary Zita Mills of Burlington, VT., 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be held at McGuire/Hargrave & Murphy Funeral Home, 123 E. Jackson St., Palmyra, NY Monday from 2-4 & 7-9PM
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Church Street, Palmyra, NY. At 10AM on Tuesday. Interment will immediately follow at St. Anne’s Catholic cemetery.

WEST WALWORTH - January 10, 2007 at age 59. Survived by his wife Demaris; children Eric J. (Alice) Brown, Lisa A. Brown; grandchildren Douglas Schultz, Dillon Schultz, Joshua Brown; mother Irene Frantz; brother Jeffrey C. (Gloria) Frantz; brother- in- law; Rother (Karen) Hodges; aunt Dorothy Veerman; niece Jessie Hodges; and many friends.

Scott, Russell E.

MACEDON - Died on January 11, 2007 at age 85 at Clifton Springs Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Veronica Scott; children Ellen (Michael) Deetz, Anne (James) Sapienza; 7 grandchildren, James, Michael & Joan Sapienza, Michelle Reber, Amy Deetz Wenger, Thomas Deetz & 7 great grandchildren; brother Frank of Clifton Springs; predeceased by his brother Kenneth Scott. He served in the US Army in the European Theatre, during WWII. He retired in 1979 as the Palmyra Postmaster after serving 33 years. Russ enjoyed flying, & was an avid fisherman. He was also a member of St. Anne’s Church.
Friends may call Sunday 2-5PM at McGUIRE/HARGRAVE & MURPHYFUNERAL HOME 123 East Jackson St., Palmyra. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Monday at St. Anne’s Church, Palmyra. Burial St. Anne’s cemetery. Donations may be made to Macedon Ambulance 81 W. Main St., Macedon, NY 14502 or St. Anne’s Church in his memory.
