Dolores Ann Fish, passed away peacefully Into the waiting arms of our Lord on Monday November 10, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY surrounded by her cherished and loving son and caregiver, Michael and her sister.She was a Receptionist for Schervier Pavilion, Warwick, NY for many years before retiring in 2004.She was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Goshen, NY. The daughter of the late John and Helen Szalecki Lazicki, she was born on March 17, 1935 in Jersey City, NJ. Dolores was married to Frank James Fish and they shared 46 years of marriage before his death on May 28, 2004. Dolores is survived by her cherished and loving son and caregiver Michael R. Fish; two sisters, Elenora Pawliczek and Marilyn Lazicki; one grandchild, several nieces and nephews; and Scooby D00 their pug.Mom's soul was radiant and was seen in everything she did: From her home, to raising her family, to caring for her husband, her love of crocheting and knitting and special gifts to family and friends to show she cared. One thing Mom will be remembered for is her cooking and holiday gatherings. Mom it was an honor and a privilege to be your son, I could not have asked for such special parents to nurture me and in the past few years we became each other's rock and strength. I will always love and miss you till eternity, but I know that Dad greeted you at heaven's gate to welcome you into his arms.She was predeceased by her brother, John Lazicki, Jr. Michael would like to express his sincere Thanks, especially to the Renal Transplant team of Westchester Medical Center for their support, direction and constant concern. To Good Samaritan Hospital staff: CCU, Dr. Rachel Haleavy, Fr. Bryan, Fr. Frank for the exceptional care and concern for making sure my Mothers' last hours were peaceful and that Mom and family were comforted. There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, November 12 at 11:OOam at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Goshen, NY. Interment will follow in St. Josephs' cemetery, Florida, NY.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home.

Stephanie G. Forshee

Stephanie G. Forshee of Pine Island, NY a retired postal worker for the Pine Island Post Office for 40 years, entered into rest on Monday, November 03, 2008 in St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick, NY. She was 102.
The daughter of the late Alexander & Helen Zelaskowski, she was born September 2, 1906 in Jersey City, NJ.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island, St. Stanislaus Living Rosary Society
She is survived by: Son – Raymond Forshee & wife Michele of Westwood, NJ; Daughter Alexsandra Forshee at home; Daughter Barbara Forshee of Wurstboro; 3 Grandchildren – Michael Forshee & wife Bonni of Pocono Summit, Pa; Susanne Forshee of Springfield, Mo; & Jennifer Mazzuca & husband Michael of Highland Mills, NY; Great Granddaughter – Hannah; Great Niece & Great Nephews; Great Great Nieces & Nephew.
Predeceased by Husband Raymond S. Forshee; Brother Felix Zelaskowski & Sister Lottie Langa
Friends May Call on Wednesday, November 5th from 2-4 & 7-9P.M. at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Rt.#1, Pine Island, NY 10969.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island. The Reverend Joseph Tokarczyk will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Stanislaus cemetery, Pine Island, NY.
Memorial Contributions may be made St. Stanislaus Church, 14 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921 for the restoration of the church.

Helen P. Doscher

Helen Powrie Doscher of Tuxedo Park, NY, entered into rest on March 2, 2009 at Elant at Goshen. She was born on October 31, 1914 in Minneapolis, Mn., the daughter of the late Charles Rollo Powrie and Bess Katherine Riblet Powrie. Helen was President and an active member of the Tuxedo Park Garden Club, a member of the Tuxedo Red Cross Gray Ladies, Treasurer of St. Mary’s Junior Committee, and Treasurer of the Tuxedo Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. “Helen lived and traveled all over Europe, China, and England. She studied art in Paris and Copenhagen. She then became a fashion illustrator for Vogue Magazine and various newspapers in Manhattan. In November of 1940, she married Dr. John Henry Doscher, and they happily settled in Tuxedo Park, where they lived for over 50 years.Helen's love of art, literature, animals, and flowers will long be remembered by her friends and family. Known for her positive and happy outlook, regardless of the circumstances, Helen's enthusiastic embrace of life was her greatest treasure. ” Survivors include one daughter, Jeannie Doscher of Warwick, NY, a son, Bruce Doscher of Hampton Bays, NY, three grandchildren, and three nieces. Memorial services will be held 11 AM on Saturday March 7, 2009 at St. Mary’s – in – Tuxedo Episcopal Church, Tuxedo Park, NY . Rev. Elizabeth McWhorter will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange 800 Stony Brook Ct. Newburgh, NY 12550.

Mary Kimiecik

Mary Kimiecik of Florida, NY a lifetime area resident and a retired store manager for the Galena Gift Gallery and employee of Werners True Value Florida, NY entered into rest Friday February 13, 2009 at St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick . She was 76. The daughter of the late Kenneth and Frances Kolodziejski Fish she was born July 23, 1932 in Warwick, NY. She was a member of St. Josephs Church, Florida, NY where she devoted much of her time to the parish, the Florida Historical Society, and was a volunteer at the Florida Public Library. “Miss Mary” loved story time with the little ones. Mary also sponsored a child in Central America for many years. She is survived by : 2 sons Peter Kimiecik of Florida, NY; Joel Kimiecik of Middletown, NY; 1 daughter Peggy Kimiecik and husband Rick Brenner of California.;Grandchildren Lynn Troyer and husband Joe and son Brennan of Ohio, Chris Kimiecik and his wife Megan of Florida, NY, Nicole Matranga and husband Rich and daughter Sara of North Carolina, and Amy Kimiecik and daughter Victoria of Florida, NY; Sister Judy Hayes and husband Ken of Middletown, NY; Brother John Fish and wife Mary of Florida, NY ; She was predeceased by husband Daniel Kimiecik and sister Patty Barone. Martha Piasecki

Martha Piasecki, a former resident of Pine Island, NY & Middletown, NY, passed away on Thursday, February 05, 2009 at the age of 105 in the Glen Arden Health Care Center. She was a resident of the Glen Arden Retirement Community since 1996.
Born on October 12, 1903 in Coalport, Pa to the late Peter & Anna Brozdowski Bierstine.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley, together they owned & operated a black dirt farm in Pine Island, a General Store in Pine Island and later the Frosty Delite Custard Stand on Bradley’s Corners in Middletown.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island, NY. Her family will remember her as a kind and loving mother and grandmother, who loved to cook, and was a gifted artisan in crocheting. She had a great sense of humor and never a complaint. A special thanks to Marge Conklin and Ken & Elenor Elders who visited every week, and to all the nurses, aids, staff and friends at Glen Arden, where she resided since it opened in 1996.
Survivors include her 2 Sons, Edwin Piasecki & wife Mary of Voorhees, NJ; Leon Piasecki & wife Dolores of Goshen, NY; 2 Daughters, Phyllis Loewenstein& husband Richard of Merritt Island, Florida; Jane Barczak & husband John of Florida, NY; 6 Grandsons, Ronald Piasecki & wife Linda of Voorhees, NJ; Edwin R. Piasecki & wife Kim of Clarksburg, MD; LeonPiasecki & wife Mary of Harvard, MA; James Piasecki of Sarasota, Florida; Richard Loewenstein & wife Jean of Ballston Spa, NY; Daniel Loewenstein & wife Beth of Ballston Spa, NY; 2 Step Grandchildren, John Barczak & wife Terra of Florida, NY; Kelly Conner of Hamburg, NJ; 13 Great Grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Ian, Adam, Samantha, Emma, Alison Piasecki, Jennifer, Julie, Jason, Tyler Loewenstein, Cagney & Delaney Conner. Several Nieces & Nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers Tony, Frank & Benjamin Bierstine; Sisters Mary Wozniak & Anna Maly.

Janet Janofsky

Janet Janofsky of Florida, NY a retired Nurses Aide for Arden Hill Hospital Goshen entered into rest on Tuesday January 20, 2009 in Florida, NY she was 63 years old. Having been a resident of this area for 40 years and an avid walker, she was known by many.The daughter of the late William and Emma Schwab Janofsky she was born on December 7, 1945 in NYC, NY. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Florida, NY. Survivors include: 1 sister- Clare McCarthy of Pine Bush, NY; 2 brothers- William Janofsky of Paoli, Pa; John Janofsky of Milton, Vt.; and several nieces & nephews. Jean Katherine DeBella of Warwick, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick. She was 88.
The daughter of the late Peter & Katherine Sosler Heter, she was born on March 15, 1920 in Florida, NY.
She was a member of St. Columba’s Church, Chester, NY.
She was the widow of Fred DeBella.
Survivors include; 2 Daughters; Rose Marie Kennybrook of Warwick, NY; Gina DeBella of Warwick; Granddaughter Maygenia Marie MacDowall; Great grandchildren; Timothy Ryan, Maeghan Rose & Matthew Thomas; 3 Brothers; Carl, Bennie & Ed Heter; 2 Sisters; Eleanor Kazar & Theresa Russo & Several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by Sister Josephine Turi & 3 Brothers; Daniel, Barney & Connie Heter.
Friends May Call from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. on Friday, January 16th at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.
Funeral mass will be held 9:00 A.M. Saturday, January 17th at St. Columba Church, 29 High Street, Chester, NY 10918.

Olav Stokkeland

Olav Stokkeland of Florida, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday January 7, 2009 at St. Anthony Community Hospital Warwick after a long battle with Leukemia. He was 65.
The son of Ingvald and Tora Kvinlaug Stokkeland, he was born on July 15, 1943 in Kvinesdal, Norway.
He was the owner of Stokkeland Hardwood Flooring, Florida, NY
Olav was a loving husband, father, grandfather who will be missed by his family and his friends.
Survivors include: His wife Wenche Stokkeland at home;
3 children Kjell Stokkeland and wife Cheryl of Sugar Loaf, NY ; Jan Stokkeland and Rebecca of Warwick, NY; Irene Stokkeland of Florida; 3 Grandchildren Ashley, Jessica, and Korey; His mother Tora Stokkeland of Norway; Sister Ingrid Lende and husband Oddvar of Norway; Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Ingvald and his sister Anna.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Saturday January 10that Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 95 Kings Hwy. Warwick, NY.

Helen Frances Miloszewski

Helen Miloszewski, of Miramar, FL (formerly of Florida, NY) passed away on Wednesday December 10, 2008 at Susanna Wesley Health Center in Hialeah, FL. She was 95.
Born on November 5, 1913 in Warwick, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Nosal Miloszewski. A resident of Florida, NY for most of her life, she was employed by the Big V Supermarket/Shoprite Supermarket for twenty-six years before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph Church & its Living Rosary Society, Florida, NY.
Helen is survived by her son Walter Miller and his wife Emilia of Miramar, FL, a sister Elizabeth Mythen and her husband Patrick of Florida, NY, nieces Rita Megliola and family of Englishtown, NJ, Loretta Stopa and family of Florida, NY, Suzanne Lepski and family of Florida, NY, Andrea Varano and husband of New Hampton, NY, Kathleen Smith and family of Wappingers Falls, NY, Louise Cummings and family of Florida, NY, Rose Pawliczak and family of Florida, NY, Theresa Kelly and family of Guntersville, AL, nephews Edward Mythen and family of Florida, NY, Patrick Mythen and family of Cicero, NY and Louis Miloszewski Jr. of Florida, NY. She was predeceased by her sister Josephine Michno and her brother Louis Miloszewski Sr.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th from 3 to 5 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY. A funeral service will take place 10 A.M. on Monday, December 15th at St Joseph’s Church, Florida, NY followed by interment in St Joseph’s cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St Joseph Church, 14 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.
