He was an Army veteran of World War II. A son, Paul, died in 1990.Survivors: His wife of 61 years, the former Dorie Jacobe; five daughters, Linda Hansen of Fairfax, Va., Kathleen Procita of Marietta, Christine Dickerson of Otisco, Jacqueline Tucker of Tully and Susan Speckman of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, James and Jeffery, both of Syracuse, and Patrick of Cicero; two sisters, Mary Daly of Syracuse and Lucy Dreyhalupt of New Hartford; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Services: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church. Burial, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Otisco. Mildred A. Cleveland, 89, of Jamesville died Saturday at Loretto. Born in Syracuse, she graduated from Syracuse Normal School and Syracuse University. She was a substitute teacher and taught in several schools in Onondaga County, retiring from the Liverpool school system. She was an elder, trustee and deacon of First Presbyterian Church United. She was a member and officer of Syracuse Genetaska Club and a board member of the YWCA.Survivors: Her husband, Gerald A.; a daughter, Linda A. Czarny of Skaneateles; a son, Roger A. of New Hartford; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Services: 4 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church United. Burial, Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Mary E. Carroll Conners, 74, of Marian Drive, Mattydale, died Sunday. Born in Syracuse, she lived in Mattydale since 1954. She retired in 2000 as a secretary for Syracuse Building Trades & Labor Council in Syracuse after 28 years. She was also a secretary for Sheet Metal Workers Union 58 in Syracuse. She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale, a member of its Altar Rosary Society and volunteered for the kitchen staff during bingo at the church. Her husband of 51 years, Maurice, died previously.Survivors: Four daughters, Kathleen and Michelle Conners, both of Syracuse, Patricia Carter of Baldwinsville and Mary Buonocore of North Syracuse; two sons, Thomas of Solvay and Robert of Syracuse; a sister, Anne Romano of Camillus; three brothers, John and Thomas Carroll, both of Syracuse, and James Carroll of Punta Gorda, Fla.; nine grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Krueger Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. She taught school in Cayuga and at Tompkins and Elmwood schools in Syracuse before retiring 10 to 15 years ago and moving away. She attended Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ.Survivor: Her husband, Willford. Memorial services: Will be in Fort Myers, Fla. Burial, Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Betty Jane Bush Dixon, 86, of Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center, Auburn, died Saturday. Born in Genoa, she was a life resident of the Fleming and Auburn area. She was a lens grinder at the former Lakeland Optical plant in Auburn for 12 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Auburn. Her husband, Harold C., died in 2001.Survivors: Three sons, Robert F. of Auburn, Donald F. of Rochester and David H. of Port Byron; a sister, Olive Burgess of Moravia; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Clarence L. "Pete" Emmons, 76, of 1847 Mulholland Road, North Bay, died Sunday. Born in Sherrill, he lived in Canastota 20 years before moving to North Bay in 2000. He attended Oneida schools. He retired in 1980 as a mason at B.S. McCarey Co. in Rome. He was a member of American Legion Post 569 in Oriskany Falls. He was of the Methodist faith. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, the former Barbara Lamphere, died in 1997; a son, Jeffrey, died in 1992.Survivors: Five daughters, Debra  White of Wichita Falls,  Texas, Cindy Newton of Camillus, Susan Smith of La Belle, Fla., Barbara Emmons of Morrisville and Sheila Christian of Munnsville; two sons, Ernest of Cortland and Rudy of Waterville; two sisters, Lena  White of Oneida and Dorothy Adcox of Orlando, Fla.; four brothers, Reginald of Canastota, Eugene of Oneida, Roger of Pittsboro, N.C., and George of Durhamville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. William J. Lynch, 82, of Syracuse died Monday at Francis House. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Assumption High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He was a mechanical draftsman with the Magnus Metal Co. in Albany for 30 years. He was a volunteer for the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Albany, for 20 years. He won the Accord Volunteer Recognition Award and was a member of the Eastwood American Legion. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for three years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the National Guard in 1940.Survivors: A brother, James of Syracuse. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Assumption Church, 812 N.
