ROBERT J. "BOB" WEBER

Troy, N.Y. - Robert Joseph "Bob" Weber, 76, died on Monday, September 13, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Joseph F. And Estelle Knortz Weber. Until the time of his death, Bob was an avid runner and cyclist employed with Central Hudson Gas and Electric in Newburgh, New York. A Navy signalman during World War II, Bob was a longtime member of the American Legion 0152. He is survived by his wife, Olive Davidson Weber and his seven children; Mary E. Weber (Lynn Hoback) of Delmar, Joseph F. Weber (Teresa) of Niskayuna, Cynthia Weber Glynn (Michael) of Troy, Laura J. Weber (Alan Steele) of Greensboro, North Carolina and Leslie M. Weber, Christine F. Weber and Robin Jo Stewart, all of Troy. Bob is also survived by his sisters; Grace and Jeanne and his grandchildren Heather, Ross, William, Gillian, Emily, Haley and Jess. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy. Burial service will take place on Friday at Oakwood cemetery in Troy at 10:00 a.m. It was Bob's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Joseph's Manor, 6448 Main St., Trumbull, Ct 06611. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., Troy, NY 12180.

GERARD J. ALTIERI

Bennington, Vt. - Gerard J. Altieri, 54, formerly of Highland, died Monday, September 13, 2004 at Vassar Brother's Hospital in Poughkeepsie, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born November 26, 1949 in Brooklyn, he was the son of Jack A. Altieri of Hollywood, Fla., deceased, and Helen V. Gilbert of Highland. Jerry, as he was known to friends and family, was a graduate of San Diego Law School, San Diego, Calif., was a member of the State of Vermont Bar Association and presently owned and operated his own law practice in Bennington, Vt. Jerry also served overseas in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war. A family statement reads: "He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his children, his unwavering sense of humor and his love for fishing, baseball and the New York Yankees." He is survived by his mother, Helen V. Gilbert of Highland; a twin brother, Kenneth Altieri of Esopus; two sisters, Marie A. Tyler of Highland, and Vidge Altieri of Houston, Texas. Also surviving are two children, Kaitlyn Altieri of Niskayuna and John Altieri of Bennington, Vt. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held privately by the family. Donations made in Jerry's name to the American Cancer Society and/or Hospice are welcome. Arrangements by the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 38 Main St., Highland.

GRACE FALLER AYRES

Middletown, N.Y. - Grace Faller Ayres, a longtime resident of Middletown and North Palm Beach, FL, passed away Monday, September 13, 2004 at home. She was 86. The daughter of the late Frank LoGerfo and Mary Ingrassia LoGerfo, she was born February 21, 1918 in Bradenton, FL. She was married to the late Edward Faller and Harold L. Ayers. Mrs. Ayers was a member at the Bullville Methodist Church, she was a past member at the Orange County Golf Club and North Palm Beach Golf Club, as well as a longtime member and past president of the Lenten Sewing Club. Survivors include her brother, Paul LoGerfo of Sarasota, FL; her sister, Justine Morreale of Middletown; her daughter, Karen Walton and her husband, Donald of Goshen; and her daughter-in-law, Catherine Faller. She is also survived by her three grandsons: Dr. James Walton, David Walton and his wife Lauren and John Faller. She was predeceased by her brother, Angelo LoGerfo and her son, Dr. Stephen Faller. ADRIENNE J. BITTLES

Cornwall-On-Hudson - Adrienne J. Bittles, of Cornwall-On-Hudson, formerly of the Bronx, a retired supervisor with the Department of Social Services, died September 15, 2004 at Elant Health Care, Town of Newburgh. She was 91. The daughter of John Larmon and Katherine Glennen (nee Lang), she was born March 5, 1913 in New York City. She was married to the late Robert G. Bitles. She was a former member of St. Nicholas of Tolentine, Bronx. Survivors include three sons, Robert G. Bittles of Pittsburgh, Pa., Ronald Bittles and his wife, Florence, of Clearmont, Fla., and Richard J. Bittles and his wife, Suzanne, of Cornwall-On-Hudson; one daughter, Adrienne Burke and her husband, John, of Central Valley; ten grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert G. Bittles; and two brothers, David and James Larmon. Friends and relatives may call at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Sacred Heart Church, Robinson Ave, Newburgh. Father Luke Sweeney will officiate. KATHERINE LEE PASCHALL ESTORES

Cornwall, N.Y. - Katherine Lee Paschall Estores of Cornwall, an RN with Helen Hayes Hospital, West Haverstraw, died September 15, 2004 at Cornwall Hospital. The daughter of Donald Paschall and Eleanor (Sissy) Wamsley Paschall, she was born August 7, 1959 in Kokomo, Ind. A member of Cornwall Presbyterian Church, Cornwall-on-Hudson, and awarded Nurse of the year (Rockland County). Survivors include two sons, Shawn Facciola of Cornwall, and Bryan Estores of Cornwall; one daughter, Jessica Estores of Cornwall; her mother, Eleanor (Sissy) Paschall of Newburgh; two brothers, James Paschall of Stony Point and Donald Paschall of Newburgh; four sisters, Teresa Brown of Walden and Nancy Ferro of Moberly, Mo., Patricia Way of Walden, and Victoria Pavez of Cornwall. She was predeceased by her father, Donald Paschall; and one sister, Donna Pelligrini. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2004. LOUIS GUARINO

Marlboro, N.Y. - Louis Guarino, a truck driver for Chelsea Homes in Marlboro and long-time area resident, died accidentally on September 14, 2004 in Danbury, Conn. He was 57. The son of Anthony Joseph Guarino and Betty Geraci, he was born September 9, 1947 in Brooklyn. A family statement reads, "Dad, a hard working loving husband, great father and devoted grandfather. A friend to all, who will be greatly missed. One who devoted his entire life to his family." He was married on March 24, 1968 in Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, MaryAnn LaMela Guarino; sons, Anthony and wife Deborah Guarino of Newburgh, John and wife Michelle Guarino of Newburgh; daughter, Ann Marie and husband Greg Casarella of Sloatsburg; brother, Anthony and wife Maria Guarino of Marlboro; sister, Bernadette Canallo of Marlboro; grandson, John Michael Guarino; granddaughter, Katelyn Mae Casarella; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Sandy Taylor of Marlboro; and aunt, Ann Orlando of Newburgh. JAY STEWART

Beach Lake, PA - Jay Stewart of Beach Lake, PA, and formerly of Narrowsburg, NY, died September 14, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He was 80. The son of Harry and Hazel VanLoan Stewart, Jay was born on June 29, 1924 in Fox Mountain, NY. He was a World War II Veteran having served in Army Air Force in the Pacific Theater. He was retired from the New York State Electric & Gas Corporation after a 34 and a half year career. A prominent member of his community, Jay had been a leader of the local Boy Scout Troop, manager/coach of the Delaware Valley Little Fellows League and chairman of the Town of Tusten Fire Commissioners. He was a member, Lay Leader and Lay Speaker of the Narrowsburg United Methodist Church, charter member of the Tusten Lions Club, and long-term member of the Narrowsburg Fire Department, Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Service, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6427 and Beaver Brook Rod & Gun Club. He is survived by his loving wife, Nora Moore Stewart at home; his son, Frederick J. Stewart of Stratham, NH; daughter, Lorraine Davis of Welcome Lake, PA; grandsons: Timothy and Christopher Adase of Johnson City, NY; sister, Sharon Lilley of Bethel, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18 at the Narrowsburg United Methodist Church, Lake St., Narrowsburg with Pastor Peg VanSiclen officiating. HAROLD N. ULBRICH JR.

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Formerly of Port Jervis, N.Y. Harold N. Ulbrich Jr., a photographer for Olan and Mills Photography, Colorado and lifelong area resident of Port Jervis, died Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at his home in Sunnyvale. He was 50. The son of Sophie Michulski Ulbrich and the late Harold Ulbrich Sr., he was born February 28, 1954 in Port Jervis. He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis. Survivors include his mother, Sophie Ulbrich of Port Jervis; his children, Samantha, Joanna and Chris; three sisters, Barbara Daniel and her husband Joe of Keansburg, N.J., Joyce Williams and her husband Richard of Port Jervis, Ellen Moglia of Milford, Pa.; his loving fiancée Tony Ferrari of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Wallkill, N.Y. - Celia Mae Williams, a retired quality controller for Fair Rite Products, Wallkill and 43-year resident of Wallkill, died Monday, September 13, 2004 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 70. The daughter of the late Harley Rivers and Anna Elliot, she was born January 13, 1934 in Walterboro, S.C. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, Newburgh. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Carlarue Williams of Wallkill; two sons, Mack A. Young and wife Melinda of Plattekill and John Williams of Summerville, S.C.; six daughters, Connie Griffin and husband Jessie of Walterboro, S.C., Brenda Williams of Norfolk, Va., Elaine Bowman of Charleston, S.C., Anna Thomas of Livingston Manor, Donna Williams of Middletown and Tonja Williams of Wallkill; two brothers-in-law, McKinley Williams and wife Jackie, Charles S. WALTER KLINKOWIZE

New Windsor, N.Y. - Walter Klinkowize of New Windsor, a retired plumbing contractor and a resident of this area since 1932, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the Orange County Residential Health Care Facility in Goshen. He was 90. The son of George and Christine Kulik Klinkowize, he was born on June 28, 1914 in Yonkers. A veteran, Mr. Klinkowize served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during World War II and as a medic was awarded the Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation, Distinguished Unit Badge and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. Survivors include his two nephews, John Klinkowize and his wife, Jean, of North Carolina and Steven Klinkowize and his wife, Rose, of New York; his two nieces, Doris Begg of New York and Carole Thalman and her husband, Mark, of Oregon; his great nieces and nephews, Laura and Steve Kirchner of Connecticut, Ronald and Donna Klinkowize of Connecticut, Sean and Michelle Klinkowize of New York, David Klinkowize of New York and Mark and Kelli Meland Lewis of New York; and his great nieces and nephews, Emma and Peter, Spencer and MaKena, Jared and Jamie and Dylan and Kristian. He was predeceased by his three brothers, John, Steven and Peter; his two sisters, Mary Scabey and Anastasia; his niece, Josephine Adelaide Sardella; and great nephew, Peter Klinkowize. ALMEDA BARBARA POWELL "AUNT MEET"

Beacon, N.Y. - Almeda Barbara Powell "Aunt Meet, " a retired procurement analyst for IBM in Fishkill, died Sunday, September 12, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital. She was 69. The daughter of the late Phillip Skipwith Sr. and Mamie Lee Barney Skipwith Powell, she was born October 18, 1934 in Brockway, N.Y. She was a member of the Empire State Federation of Women's Club; NAACP and Southern Dutchess Coalition; and life-member of Les Seours Amiables Civic Club of Beacon. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Willie Lee Powell Sr. of Beacon; four sons, Willie Lee Powell Jr. of Beacon, Raymond Powell of Charlotte, N.C., Bradford Powell and wife Linda of Columbia, S.C. and Wesley Powell of San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters, Darcel Powell of Poughkeepsie and Dawn Powell-Manso and husband Carlos of Beacon; one brother, Thomas Skipwith of Beacon; two sisters, Eleanor Kilgore of Beacon and Sharon Hammond of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren, Makkia Powell, Shaneisha Strange of Beacon, Isaac Powell of Newburgh, Raeanne Powell and Sophia Powell both of Columbia, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Nascia, Symone Hinson and Ayana Blackwell all of Beacon; Godson, Paul Sellers of Poughkeepsie; God-given daughter, Constance Cooper of Beacon; two especially loving nephews, Alvin Bell Jr. of Poughkeepsie and Michael Bell Sr. of Beacon; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a community of care givers including the staff from St. Francis Dialysis Center. EDWARD J. BRAMSEN JR.

Maryland, N.Y. - Edward J. Bramsen Jr., passed away Monday, September 13, 2004 at A. O. Fox Hospital, Oneonta. He was born February 22, 1944 in Oneonta, NY, the son of Edward and Kathleen (Cotter) Bramsen Sr. On November 19, 1989, he married Eileen June in Middlefield, NY, she survives. Ed was a graduate of Schenevus High School Class of 1963. He was a graduate of Simmons School of Mortuary Science, Syracuse, NY and became a licensed funeral director after serving his residency in the Capital District at Brown and Baxter's Funeral Home. After he received his license, he worked at Brown & Baxter's for 18 years. In later years he worked at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley. He worked for Frank Beams Oil Co., Burmast Oil, Scotia, was co-owner of the Bramsen Country Store, Westford, NY, drove for Otsego County Dept. of Social Services and Veterans Office, and also as a houseman at the Otsega Hotel, Cooperstown. Until his illness, he was a day custodian for the Riverside Elementary School, Oneonta. Ed was a poet, writer and story teller while at Riverside. He worked in the classrooms with the children, helping them develop a love of poetry and the written word. He was a member of the Historical Society of the Palisade Park Region, and was a member and past president of O.C.S. Unit 8106, Local 839. Survivors include his wife, Eileen Bramsen of Maryland, NY; sons: Tim Bramsen of Lynwood, WA, Kevin Bramsen of Oneonta, NY, David Stalter of Maryland, NY, Daniel Stalter, Loren Stalter Jr.; daughters: Laurel (Stalter) Tosolini, Debra (Stalter) Hansen, all of Highland Falls, NY and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Kathleen; a brother, Christen Bramsen and a sister, Virginia Bramsen. Funeral services will be held at the Oneonta Southside Wesleyan Church, Oneonta, NY on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Santamont officiating. Burial will take place at the June family cemetery, Doodletown, NY at 2 p.m. on October 9, 2004. DEACON WENDELL WILKIE WHITTED SR.

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Deacon Wendell Wilkie Whitted Sr., a 35 year resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, died Friday, September 10, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. He was 61. The son of the late Matthew James Whitted and Lorene Avery Whitted, he was born December 26, 1942 in Fayetteville, NC. He was a Landscaper, Rood's Nursery, Poughkeepsie and a member of New Life Pentecostal Church, Newburgh, NY. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 18 years, Annie Mae Whitted; granddaughter, whom he helped raise for 16 happy years, Aja Maria Thacker, both of Poughkeepsie, NY; two grandsons, whom he also helped raise, Larry and Toriko Trott; eight sons: Wendell Whitted Jr., David, Donald and wife Desiree, James and wife Jackie, Michael and wife Ramanda, Derek and wife Addie Holman, all of Poughkeepsie, NY, Jerry Lewis David of Grand Rapids, MI and Willie James Thacker of Jacksonville, FL: four daughters: Donna and husband Roosevelt Dancy, Terri Lynn and Sterling Fisher, Mary Holman and Stephanie Lorraine Thacker; six brothers: Perry and wife Earline Whitted, Clarence and wife Annette Whitted and Sammy Whitted, all of Poughkeepsie, Roy, Robert and Bobby Charles Whitted, all of Fayetteville, NC, six sisters: Hildred and husband Robert Lee Holmes of Catskill, NY, Myrtle and husband James of Roseboro, NC, Hesbia McClean, Delphine and Roeana Whitted all of Fayetteville, NC and Ruth and husband James Bunn of Poughkeepsie, NY; five sisters-in-law: Janet Whitted of Fayetteville, NC, Irene Gaithwright and husband Robert and Karen Davis all of High Point, NC, Mary Bowens White of Brooklyn, NY, Constance McDonald of Trenton, NJ; a special niece, Peggy Whitted of Poughkeepsie, NY; one uncle, Marchester Avery and one aunt, Lossie Campbell of Fayettesville, NC; fourty-two grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. JAMES L. PeQUEEN SR.

Town of Newburgh, N.Y. - James L. PeQueen, Sr. (Jim), residing 31 years in the Town of Newburgh, died on Tuesday evening, September 14th, at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, New York. Mr. PeQueen was the son of the late Carl and Zella PeQueen. He was born on November 18, 1930 in Houston, Penn. His age at time of death was 73. Jim was a devoted husband, father, and Pop-Pop. He will be sadly missed by all. Jim's faith in God and love for his family was his life. Jim was educated in the public school system in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and later attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Jim married Catherine Betts on January 12, 1952 in Elizabeth, N.J. He is survived by his wife Catherine, his son and daughter-in-law, James and Lori PeQueen of Toms River, NJ, his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Brendan O'Reilly of Marlboro, NY. Jim has five grandchildren, Lyndsey, Kaitlyn, Jimmy, Eilish and MaryColleen, which brought him great joy. He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey PeQueen and is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Connie PeQueen of North Carolina and a sister Claudette of Ford City, Penn. In addition, Jim has several nieces and nephews. Mr. PeQueen was a retired Army 1st Sergeant E-8 and a Veteran of both Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Korea. He served in the 101st Airborne and eventually joined the EOD unit (bomb disposal), where he took great pride in ultimately becoming the lead bomb disposal unit for the White House. Jim loved being a soldier. There wasn't one day while he was in the United States Army that he did not love putting on his uniform. He held our beloved United States of America and the Lord in a special place in his heart. He eventually retired in his wife's home state of New Jersey in 1968 and became a Security Road Agent for Stop & Shop, and Shop Rite in Jersey City and Hoboken. His Master Sergeant persona would continue to be an asset throughout the rest of his career. He relocated to the Newburgh area in 1973 and became director of Security for the Lloyds stores. Eventually, he became a licensed Private Investigator. In 1995, he joined the Wackenhut Corporation as a Security Guard at the front desk of the IBM Fishkill facility, where he greeted approximately 26, 000 people each year. He was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, a member of the Tres-Dias #42 Community and past President of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association, Newburgh Chapter. Many thanks to the friends of the family for their loving and thoughtful support during this journey. Your gifts of home cooked meals and child care allowed for precious time to be spent with Jim. Special thanks to Msgr. John Budwick, Rose and John Pennings, Bridie and Emer O'Reilly, Kathy Stillman, Gerry and Don Horan, Sara and Mark Merring, Lisa and Dominick Sparling, Gloria Mordente, Hester Davis, Leighanne and Don Wilkinson, Michael Greco, and the staff of hospice. To all of the medical staff, nurses, and doctors, it was a long journey and thank you for all of your skill and effort. Special mention to Dr. Peter Bezdicek, Dr. Jeffrey Stewart, and Dr. David Segal - your talents, patience, care, access, and support for Jim and his family were extraordinary. May God Grant you the wisdom to find a cure for this dreadful disease called cancer. Our eternal gratitude to the staff and Dominican Sisters of the Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, NY. Your care, compassion, and prayers carried Pop and the family through the last mile with the Love of Christ. You are true disciples of the Lord. May his Holy Spirit continue to pour down upon all that you do. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Thursday, September 16 at Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. John Budwick at St. Patrick's Church at 10:30 am on Friday, September 17. Military Honors will follow at Calvary cemetery, Route 9W, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 55 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY 12550 or Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532. .

FRANCIS T. CRIFASI

Florida, N.Y. - Francis T. Crifasi, 95, of Florida, NY, passed away September 19, 2004 at Arden Hill Hospital, Goshen. Born on January 20, 1909 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Jacqino and Catherine Piazza Crifasi. He was the widower of Florence Saenger Crifasi. Mr. Crifasi a graduate of St. John Law School was a retired Attorney. He was a member of St. Stephens Church, Warwick. He is survived by his son, Jacques F. Crifasi and his wife Joan of Warwick; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; his brother, Anthony Crifasi and his sister, Rose Venezia. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21 at the Lazear-Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Services will be held at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

EVELYN LIVINGSTON

Kerhonkson, N.Y. - Evelyn Livingston, who was born on April 30, 1939, died August 15, 2004 of liver cancer at Lenox Hill Hospital. Evelyn was a 1959 graduate of Lenox Hill Nursing School and retired in 1999 after 40 years of Nursing from Lenox Hill Hospital. Her survivors are her husband, Mitchell of Kerhonkson; her sister, Nancy and brother-in-law, David of North Carolina; her mother-in-law, Gladys and father-in-law, Joseph of Florida; her sisters-in-law: Lilly of Oaklahoma and Laura of New York City. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in North Carolina and Oaklahoma. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents and brother Stanley. Evelyn had many friends in New York City and Ulster County. Evelyn loved animals and adopted many stray dogs and cats. Services were held privatley. Contributions in her name may be made to an animal shelter of one's choice.
